01/19/2009: Bev from Pikeville, KY replies: "I hear ya on the taste of ACV!! I to like the benefits-but hate the smell and taste. I have found that if I pour it in some juice(orange is my preference)and suck it down really quickly through a straw it is more easy on the palate. Hope this is of some help to you."

[YEA]  01/15/2009: Julie from Linden, Michigan writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar: This is the best by far. I love it, and have become addicted to using it. It has now become a part of my daily routine. I take 2 tsp to an 8oz glass of water in the morning upon awaking, and then go about my business. I find the early morning remedy gives me a burst of energy, and I think we all could use that first thing in the morning..ha ha. I drink the same amount after eating a light breakfast usually about 10am-ish. I again take it after eating a light lunch. Again after a light dinner. I follow a low carb diet, and do try to watch my fats, but I am telling you...this works for me. I started following a low carb lifestyle approximately 4 years ago, prior to my use of the apple cider vinegar. I weighed 158 lbs, and I dropped 30 lbs within 4-5 months. I was able to keep it off for about 3 years, and then slowly started to regain over the past 1-2 years. I weighed 143 about a month ago, and I was at the point where I was NOT going back to 158 again. I started the apple cider vinegar. I now weigh 138, and I am full of energy...major plus!

I have read almost every post on this site and I am amazed at how much it has helped many of you. I know though, as in any other remedy out there, this may not work for everyone, but it does work for me. I am very intersted in trying the coconut oil now as well. I have elevated cholestrol, but not to the point of danger, although the high cholestrol runs in my family, as does heart disease on both sides of my family, so I figure it cannot hurt to give it a try. I am a 39 year old female, and have become very interested in living as healthy of a lifestyle as possible. I see a chiropractor twice a week as well, who is very supportive of this. I wish everyone all the luck in trying this. To those that have had hard time with it, never give up..keep the faith. A big thank you to the creators of this site. Julie-Michigan"

[YEA]  12/30/2008: Masa from Brooklyn/ Queens, New York writes: "Listen, I have been always fighting my weight, I don't over eat, I don't keep myself from enjoying whatever I want either. I exersise but my weight has ALWAYS been a problem. I found this website through a GREAT friend at work. I checked it out and been trying ACV with water sometime just I take shots. I never drank so much vinigar in my LIFE. Anyhow starting to see results, I am less bloated, my jeans are getting big, and my face looks great! Usually around this time of the month I get my usual big zit and so far so good.

So try it you have nothing to loose but weight, bloating and zits."

01/05/2009: ADR from Dayton, Ohio, USA replies: "I love this website! My husband has always loved organic this and that, and I grew up on store bought chemicals. I don't know if it's a midlife crisis hitting me at 32, but he's getting ready to teach me how to make homemade soaps. I have got most of the stuff I need for shampoo/conditioners; and today, I went the Health Food Store and purchased the Organic ACV and bunch of other stuff. I hope the ACV works for me in weight loss; I could stand to drop about 30#. I am going to start with a low dosage then increase as I adjust to it. And I am hoping that the ACV with BSM will eleviate my chronic reflux or whatever it is.....I have been so uncomfortable for months now and don't want to go to a bland diet. I will post at a later time with any results whether positive or negative! Thanks"

01/25/2009: Shelley from Miami, Florida replies: "Acid reflux was ruining my life. In order to sleep I sat straight up in a chair at night. I was sickly all day. The doctor put me on Nexium, Protonix and lastly Acidphix. NONE OF THESE THINGS WORKED. I only got worse.

In total frustration, I went to the internet to search for a NATURAL cure. I found a remedy which worked immediately. I eat a red delicious apple everyday and two if needed.

I found Earthclinic and started using Apple Cider Vinegar. When I have a episode, I put a tablespoon in a 1/4 cup of water and down it..... REFLUX is GONE.

The ACV did what the doctor and DRUGS could no do. TRY IT.

Shelley in Miami"

02/14/2009: Dave from Friend, Ne. replies: "A couple of things from me...first, if anyone has csid reflux, please quit buying the otc tablet stuff and the bottles. Just take about 1 tsp. and if in about 5 min. the acid reflux persists, take 1 more tsp. It does work...no doubt.

My question to all....Can I buy ACV in any grocery store, or do I need to get @ health food store? In the future, could all who read this, please say where to buy? This is important, for some products are not absorbed into the body.

Also a side note, if any folks would like to learn how to grow very healthy veggies and fruit, I will gladly show how to build a healthy soil system. thanks a lot I love this page, God helped me find you!"

EC: We'd love to learn how to build a healthy soil system. It would be perfect for the organic gardening section on Earth Clinic Planet!

02/17/2009: M. from Boston, MA replies: "In response to someone's question about what kind/where to get ACV.... I read it should be "unfiltered, unpasteurized, and not distilled". I use Bragg brand (one of the most popular brands) and it just lists "raw and unfiltered" on the label.

I buy it at Whole Foods but I know my dad used to buy it before WF became prevalent so check your local supermarkets or health food stores.

Someone else said the regular Whole Foods or Trader Joe's brands are good. You can even ask your local supermarket if they can carry Bragg brand."

07/30/2009: Jane from Phoenix, Arizona replies: "I just wanted to let people know that they may be able to find the "Popular" brand of ACV in their local supermarket if it has a "organic/healthy" area... that's where I get mine at my local Fry's/Kroger. You probably won't find it with the regular vinegars, but check in the area that offers organic foods (like organic baby foods, and other natural foods) you may be surprised what they have there!"

[YEA]  12/12/2008: Leslie from Jonesborough, TN writes: "I have been taking a grocery store brand of ACV for a week now. I take 2-3 tbl spoons twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. It has taken my daily headaches completely away, my skin is softer, and just when I thought it wasn't helping my weight, I put on a pair of jeans that I hadn't worn in a week, and they were loose! I've been pulling them up all day! I do want to suggest to definitely get the organic kind of ACV. I believe that it will work even better than the grocery store brand. I'm going to get some today. The only side effect so far is constipation. I hope by changing to the organic ACV that that will help."

[YEA]  12/17/2008: Caitlin from Austin, TX replies: "Hi! I've found that if you drink your ACV first thing in the morning with ICE-WATER you will go to the bathroom within 20 minutes. My grandmother who was a mid-wife/healer back in the 20's always recommended a large icy, cold glass of water every morning to stay regular. She recommended a dash of lemon but I've found that a tablespoon of ACV more cleansing and better for my skin. I always, however, use a straw with ACV or lemon because of the acid on the teeth. I like the big, round ones that burger joints have sitting around. Before I forget, I did lose 3 pounds initially with the ACV but have found that I lose more when I eat right and exercise at least 20 minutes every other day. Initially the ACV made my pants fall off as it targeted my excess stomach area, but I'm stable now. I believe the ACV only goes so far; the rest is pushing away from those extra helpings, lots of water to get rid of toxins and stay regular, and at least 20 minutes of exercise (daily preferably). My grandmother lived to be 94. She walked and regularly caught the bus everywhere; she even danced a lot (what she called dancing anyway) till she was 89 and moved near a burger and chicken joint. Frequently eating at those places, which she never did on any kind of regular basis, brought 50lbs of weight gain on her tiny frame, diabetes and sight problems and, she eventually lost her legs at 92 to diabetes. This is the legacy of the fast food and sugar industry; we lose the great ones to their unhealthy slop! As you can tell I miss her and her ageless wisdom."

01/30/2009: Leta from Bolton, NC replies: "I agree with you Caitlin. My grandmother was really into healthy eating and used a lot of wheat germ, flax seed and vinegar to stay healthy. She passed away 2 years ago at the age of 90 and was never sick. She was so wise and instilled in me the importance of healthy eating and the use of home remedies. I too miss her. I have struggled with my weight for many years but for several months I have been retraining myself on how to eat and utilizing a lot of what she taught me.

And the fast food stores... Oh My Gosh... I can not understand, in this day and age when more and more people are becoming more health conscience, why the fast food industry is not incorporating things like Turkey burgers, baked fries, grilled salmon, etc... I think I will start a Health Fast Food industry because isn't that one of the problems anyway with eating healthy -planning, inconvience, taste, etc?

I have incorporated flax seed in my breakfast or at least one meal a day, eating more fish, baked foods, and I personally like oatmeal. I add a little sea salt and a touch of smart balance light with omega for taste. I hate to seem like I am babbling on but these small changes in my life are helping me to lose weight and maybe it can help someone else. I also drink vinegar with a touch of baking soda to help with allergies. Hope this helps someone!"

05/26/2009: Caitlin from Austin, tx replies: "I spoke with a naturalopathic doctor who said that ACV is great in limited amounts. Said that when you take too much, the stomach stops producing its own acid; it regulates itself to the acv and may produce smaller amounts which may account for constipation. I have personally found that drinking a lot more water can regulate my bowels more than anything else. Water is the key. I met a lady who said she drank about 2 gallons of water a day and lost 50 lbs she was carrying, mostly around her stomach. That's all she did. When I saw her later in the year she said her doctor told her to cut down on the water as it was flushing her nutrients out as well which was making her feel extremely tired. Cutting back to a gallon a day worked for her."

[YEA]  11/15/2008: Kurt from Seffner, Florida. USA writes: "Hello I was diagnosed with RA when I was about 35 years old. Over the last 11 years I've gone from walking and running to barely walking. A little over a month ago I found this site and decided to try the ACV. Now not being able to exercise I gained about 50 some pounds in 11 years. Since I've started taking ACV I have noticed that the RA has lightened up A little, But to be honest I missed a couple days of taking it, while in the hospital. Now normally, I eat pretty well and have had no problem with that. But when they weighed me at the hospital, I found that in the last month I have lost over 30 pounds without even trying. Now I have tried to loss this weight before on diets with no success. Now I'm just starting to notice that I am losing my appetite. So I'm not eating as much now. What a nice side effect to losing the pain of RA. My doctor has been after to lose weight over the last couple of years. Can't wait to see his face and tell him what I've been doing. I think he's gonna be shocked, I know that I was. Thanks Kurt"

[NAY]  11/14/2008: Stacey from Greensboro, North Carolina writes: "I've been using apple cider vinegar for about 2 months now, and I have to admit that it does give you glowing skin. I drink one tablespoon of organic unfiltered ACV in a glass of water once a day and use regular filtered as a skin toner on my face twice a day. I'm in my late 20's and have acne, and I saw immediate results in 2 days. My skin glows, even when I have a break out. I use other products for acne, but I have noticed that break outs are reduced.

Additionally, drinking ACV has helped my acid reflux. I do not exactly understand how consuming an acid helps, but it does. I suppose it is possible that my stomach does not have to produce and excessive amount of acid if I am ingesting one.

As a side effect, I did notice that I had the constipation problem other people mentioned. I found it was worse the more ACV I drank, so I just restrict myself to 1 tablespoon per day and give my body a break from ACV at least one day a week.

Weightloss-wise, I've not noticed any results, but I think this is because I am not significantly over-weight and eat a healthy diet in the first place. I'm a 5'8'' 155lbs woman, so even a 5-10lbs loss from drinking ACV would be a bit drastic. I may, over an extended period, lose a bit, but I think that ACV helps more if you have not been taking any weight management measures. I think it might be helpful if more people describe their lifestyle pre-ACV in the weightloss section so that people will have a better idea of what results they can expect."

[NAY]  11/05/2008: Courtney from Portland, OR writes: "I read that apply cider vinegar is amazing for weight loss so I decided to test it and not change anything else except taking apple cider vinegar tablets twice a day for 2 wks. after two weeks i noticed no change in how i felt except that i gained 6lbs. 6lbs in 2 weeks! Needless to say, I don't believe apple cider vinegar works for everyone."

EC: Tablets are not nearly as effective as drinking the liquid:

02/17/2009: M. from Boston, MA replies: "In response to someone's post about no weight loss (I believe it was after using it for 1-2 weeks)... the reports for ACV and weight loss indicate SLOW weight loss, but the weight reportedly stays off.

The following is from another ACV site siting a study done by Professor Carol S. Johnston, a nutritionist at the Arizona State University East in Mesa, to further investigate the beneficial relationship between vinegar and diabetes. The subjects were not engaged in study-related diet/exercise for weight loss.

"As an unexpected side effect she found that her test subjects were losing weight! They were taking two tablespoons of vinegar before each of two meals daily. The average weight loss over the four weeks was two pounds (several people lost up to four pounds)""

[YEA]  10/11/2008: Betty from Plant City, Florida writes: "Raw organic apple cider vinegar has helped me so much, I feel like a vinegar evangelist!! I tell everyone about it. I heard about it in 2003 after having been in the hospital for chronic broncitis three times that year and had develped asthma, was on a nebulizer and inhalers. I have always had allergies.

After I started the raw vinegar mixed with raw honey - I have been drinking 1/4 cup mixed with a glass of water at night.- I have lost 55 pounds, which I learned was due to the vinegar daily - have not had bronchitis or asthma and have quit taking acid reflex meds, lung meds, singular for asthma, don't need the nebulizer or inhalers. I also quit taking nexium and just learned it is also good for leg cramps. I am a much healther person. I take mine at night, but think I will try taking smaller doses three times a day. Even my lung doctor agreed ACV was good for your lungs. He said his Mother raised them on it for sore throats and colds. Too bad the drug companies don't agree. Thanks for your site"

10/09/2008: Ekta from Memphis, TN writes: "I have just started using ACV to reduce weight loss and acidity. Many people have reported that they feel energized instantly, however I don't feel any difference. I think I am sleeping more than before. 2 days. 1 Teaspoon in 8 oz. Twice a day. Should I increase my dosage? Any help will be much appreciated."

02/02/2009: Gloria Dawn from Phoenix, Arizona replies: "Hi Ekta, you may be gaining weight because your fat might be converting to muscle if your clothes are not getting tight because muscle weighs so much more than fat. if that's not the case then, u may have another problem, mine was "sleep apnea" (i'm sure i didn't spell that right) for some reason it kept me from loosing weight. Now I combine 1/2cup Acv & 1/2 cup raw honey in a 2 quart pitcher. that, for me, is a two day supply. good luck"

05/10/2009: Merjen from Mesa, AZ replies: "Just to clarify on Gloria's comment - fat does not convert to muscle, nor vice-versa. Fat is fat and muscle is muscle. Muscle gain increases fat loss but one does not CHANGE into the other!! Yes muscle weighs more than fat and is sometimes the reason people who have recently started working out do not see much actual weight loss at first since they are probably, initially, gaining muscle before the fat loss can catch up, of course everyone is different so keep that in mind. But I could not allow that post to sit there without someone correcting it. Thanks :)"

[YEA]  10/02/2008: Bev from Chicago, Illinois, USA writes: "I have been taking two tablespoons of avc 3 to 2 times a day with four ounces of apple juice or grape juice, for about four weeks now (I usually drink 6 to 8 ounces of water after). I orginally took it for acid reflux and it began working immediately. I read more info on this site and continued to take the same dosage and just last Monday, I have lost over two inches in belly fat, fat from back and upper arms. I usually eat raw and steamed veggies with low carbs, but never had results such as this. My hair is growing faster and my nails are growing like never before. Thanks for this site."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  10/01/2008: Beth from Auckland, Middle-Earth New Zealand writes: "

I have been using ACV for weight loss for a week now and this is what I've noticed;

POSITIVES:
1. My hair seems to have suddenly grown an inch and is glossy.
2. My skin is really looking good and that's everywhere even my legs. I've had 1 person comment that I look younger but she didnt know what it was.
3. Sinus seems to have calmed down the head aches, but I still suffer with the sneezing and sore eyes.
4. Energy levels are definitely higher AND that includes libido..?

NEGATIVES:

1. No weight loss or curbed appetite.
2. Always farting and not the 'fun' type either.
3. Sudden salivating in the mouth for no reason.

I will carry on using ACV because of the other benefits and it's only been a week so will continue until the bottle is empty. At the moment, I have to give ACV for Weightloss a 'MAYBE'."

[NAY]  10/23/2008: Beth from Middle Earth, New Zealand replies: "Follow up from my previous post... It is now a month and I have had NO WEIGHT LOSS though my clothes do feel a little bit loose. I tried taking the ACV with baking soda and it tasted like rotten raw potatoes! I drink 2 tsp ACV with 475ml cold filtered water, and sip it through the day. I increased my water intake because you do feel thirsty for water. Even though I havent lost any weight, my hair and nails are really growing fast. It is true that you do feel energised. It is also true that the cravings for sugar and FAT SALTY junk foods are curbed.

Just in the last 2 weeks I noticed that I was eating less and that I cant tolerate some of the fried fatty doughnuts or chips! Now that's an accomplishment!

I'm still going to take ACV regularly because I'm addicted to the taste :)"

[YEA]  11/13/2008: Beth from Middle Earth, New Zealand replies: "WEIGHT LOSS = YES

Following up from my posts, I've lost 3 kgs (6.6pds) in 7 weeks. The weight started coming off in the 5/6th week. I also increased my drinking intake (of 425ml and 2tsp) to twice a day. I actually feel sick if I eat a couple of chips (your french fries?) or a nibble of biscuits. I can taste the fat in the back of my throat. I also noticed that I lost the craving for KFC. What an amazing thing this ACV is! My weightloss is not as rapid as some of the other posters here but it is working for me. All I needed was a bit of patience and faith."

[YEA]  09/26/2008: Nima from Dhaka, Bangladesh writes: "I was having severe knee pain. One of my friends asked me to take apple cider vinegar. I started that while I was in Singapore. Until now I finished 3 bottles. Doses : two teaspoonful with one glass of cold water. My knee pain has not been cured, but I reduced extra fat of my body & lose weight. But some of my relatives cautioned me that ACV will increase acidity, as well as may be harmful for kidney. It may be mentioned that I have given away my one kidney to my husband & am now living with one kidney. Bangladesh's nephrologist couldn't answer my query whether ACV would be harmful for kidney. And can I take this dose for life long? Would appreciate your respond & suggestion in this regard. Regards."

EC: Apple cider vinegar is said to alkalinize your pH, not make it more acidic, but the only way to know for sure is to check your urine with a pH strips, bought at your local health food store or pharmacy. (Even garden supply and pool supply stores will have pH kits.) We'll pass your questions on to Ted for response!

09/30/2008: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "I prefer a moderate approach where a both baking soda and ACV is added to the remedy so that the pH is between 7- 7.5. This beats me worrying whether the ACV is going to make my urine pH any more acid because of possible acidity in the ACV. Certainly the pH strips and pH meters of measuring urinary acidity or alkalinity will decide it, but people with low levels of bicarbonates in their system may not have sufficient metabolism to metabolise the ACV to be alkaline in a few cases. The usual remedy to get a fairly neutral or biologically friendly pH is 2 tablespoons of ACV plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water at least. This can be taken 2 or 3 times a day. The pH is between 7 - 7.5, which is fairly close to the pH of the blood. The ORP (oxidation reduction potential) has a -150 millivolts, indicates its healing potential in a solution, while most of the foods and drinks we take actually is a free radical and steals electrons from healthy cells where it's ORP for a typical processed food to be between +200 to +300 mV, which is oxidative kind of food and tend to accelerate aging process, and hence greater kidney damage because of its oxidative nature. Exposures to hydrocarbons and aspartame, Sweet n' Low, and other artificial sugars tend to accelerate metabolic acidosis and kill the kidneys by causing the kidney to be bathe in high acid environment much like our stomach digesting our own kidneys, as an illustration.

Sour foods in general is the major problem, but more bitter foods are generally more alkaline. To help protect the kidney monitoring pH is one of them, but other diets that are too high in beans can result in high calcium oxalates too, so moderation is best and by that I don't mean eating beans everyday. Certain Indian diets I have noticed are quite high in beans where they might consume this almost everyday. Without sufficient alkalinity the oxalates creep into the body as oxalic acid and form calcium oxalates, which clogs up the kidney. The other issue is high blood pressure, and high blood sugar which tends to kill the kidney too. A blood sugar can be held stable if water was drank before during and after a meal so that there's no blood sugar spikes occuring between meals. In fact kidney is often congested after eating if certain people do not drink sufficient amount of water causing a cloudy urine, which is one possible effects of dehydration from insufficient liquids during the meal. In certain foods that I have found to interfere with kidneys is alcohol, potato chips, and many salted products, of which these salted products used common table salt, which raises the blood pressure. A sea salt is substituted and kelp is taken as an iodine supplements instead. Since potassium is above average in an Indian diets from more vegetables the biggest problems appear to be the high oxalate diets found in beans, spinach for example which tends to intefere with kidney health.

[YEA]  09/25/2008: San D from Pasadena, CA writes: "Before ACV, I suffered from being over weight and acne prone skin. I discovered ACV from a good read and decided to give it a try due to its many benefits. I drink a tspn before each meal (except breakfast). The results are wonderful! My energy level went up, and I also lost weight. It wasn't an overnight success, but it worked! Just recently my husband suggested I put some on a cotton ball and use it for a couple of flare ups I had. And that was last week. Today, I can stand here and honestly say, my pores shrunk and my face is glowing. Needless to say, I've used it as a toner. I've never felt so confident."

[YEA]  09/08/2008: Sandy from Henderson, NV writes: "Wow...I've noticed a big increase in my energy since taking ACV for a month. My mother used to use it years ago and I simply forgot about how great it is. I also have been slowly losing weight too. If you can't stand taking it in water, try V8 juice or tomato juice..very good. Thanks Earthclinic!"

[YEA]  09/05/2008: Mary from San Bernardino, CA writes: "I found this site just over a couple of weeks ago while searching for a natural remedy for high blood pressure. I am extremely overweight but was having trouble exercising because of the effects of the medicines my doctor put me on. I did not want to go back to that doctor, nor do I want to stay on these medicines any longer. I can tell that these medicines are poisoning my system.

I had found several remedies that would cost more than my prescriptions, and was about to order one of them when something told me to keep looking.

That was when I found this site. I read through all of the comments and decided that it wouldn't hurt to try the apple cider vinegar. If it didn't work, I could always try one of those expensive remedies.

I have been taking the apple cider vinegar for just about two weeks now and I have noticed an incredible change in my energy levels. Before I started taking the apple cider vinegar, I was always feeling sluggish and had no energy. I was constantly falling asleep at church and at home in front of my computer. Now the sluggish feeling is gone, I have more energy, and I do not have the problem of falling asleep all the time. I am also exercising now.

Yesterday, I forgot to take my afternoon dose of medicine. I wasn't feeling right (I feel 'off' when I don't take my blood pressure medicine) so I took my blood pressure. The average reading was 145/96. Normally when I forget my medicine, the average reading is 165/101. Today, with my medicine, the average was 123/77 (this is after drinking a couple of glasses of cola!) - normally it is 130/85 or 140/90 if I have had any kind of caffeine.

Not only is my blood pressure beginning to come down, but I have also lost 10 pounds in two weeks! Hopefully, I will be able to come off of the medicines soon so I can finally get healthy again. Thank you so much for this website!"

[NAY]  07/23/2008: Carla from Little Elm, Texas writes: "I have been taking ACV to lose weight for almost 2 weeks now, and I am not seeing much of a difference. I don't mix it with Honey because I still just can't get past the taste. I have started mixing it with V8 juice and it tastes much better. I don't know if maybe this is the reason I am not seeing any results or maybe I am just not very patient. I use the Low Sodium kind so there is not that much salt. For the lady who is using Heinz, that is not a good idea. You need to use the Organic ACV. I use Bragg. It will specifically say that it contains the mother."

[YEA]  10/02/2008: San D from Pasadena, CA replies: "Patience is a virtue. I wouldn't dismiss the beneficial things that ACV can bring with just a short period of time. Each individual will have different results. I mean I started taking ACV along with Conconut oil during March of this year in hopes of loosing weight. I made it a vow not to weigh myself all this time, because you only set yourself up for disappointment. Next thing you know, I am getting compliments of how much weight I've lost. So, do give it some time and you will see a difference. It might not today, but it will come."

[NAY]  07/21/2008: Anil from Hammond, Louisiana writes: "After two months of ACV twice a day with honey, I had no loss of any weight but with new blood work my glucose went up, maybe because of honey? However, my bloodpressure went down from 130/75 to 122/72. I have stopped taking ACV with honey because of elevated glucose 119. I am 65. Bye and good luck to the rest."

EC: We are not big fans of adding honey to ACV for that very reason (i.e., elevated glucose levels).

02/13/2009: Sean from Modesto, California, USA replies: "This is specifically to Anil of Hammond, Louisiana, where should I begin??!! Both your blood pressure & glucose readings change constantly throughout your day, your blood pressure changes with EVERY BEAT OF YOUR HEART!!! I'm sincerely hoping you took MANY readings to come up with an average if you are making ANY decisions concerning your health regimen. Two reading in two months is staggeringly inadequate. Plus, 119 is not "elevated" depending on when you took it. (your blood glucose goes as high or higher than 150mg/Dl after meals throughout your day) some people high than that. Serial readings are in order before you make any changes or decisions regarding the same.

Good luck."
