Homeopathy works by treating the individual and while aconite is a great remedy, it might not have suited your friend in this particular case.

For terrible fear - off the top of my head, I would head straight to Arsenicum. Is he a fearful dog in general? Does he clean himself a lot? Does he have digestive issues? Is he generally hot or cold?

If you give me a couple of insights into your dog's personality - things that you think are unique to him - I might be able to help you.
