"Colloidal silver is a liquid suspension of microscopic particles of silver. A colloid is technically defined as particles which remain suspended without forming an ionic, or dissolved solution. The broader commercial definition of "colloidal silver" includes products that contain various concentrations of ionic silver, silver colloids, ionic silver compounds or silver proteins in purified water...
Concentrations of colloidal silver at 5 parts per million or higher have been found to kill numerous infectious bacteria. Prior to 1938, colloidal silver was widely used by physicians as a mainstream antibiotic. It was produced by pharmaceutical companies under various names, including Protargol and Argyrol. But the material was costly and the pharmaceutical industry developed fast-acting, less-expensive sulfa drugs and penicillin. Colloidal silver has been approved by the EPA as a disinfectant for hospitals and medical centers.
Compounds of silver also have a long history in medicine. Silver nitrate solutions were introduced by Crede in 1880 to protect newborn infants' eyes from infection, but have largely been replaced by antibiotic ointments since 1978. (Silver nitrate solutions are not the same thing as a suspension of colloidal silver.) Silver-containing cremes such as silver sulfadiazine have been used in burn centers for more than 100 years." The paper discusses the possible toxicity of silver, and appears to indicate that argyria is the first observable undesirable consequence of silver ingestion, and that an individual would have to ingest much more silver than the amount that causes argyria in order to achieve the next undesireable consequences: "In laboratory species, the effects of silver toxicity have been reported to involve pathology to the liver (necrosis) and kidney (thickening of the basement membranes of the glomeruli), and, at elevated levels, death." The paper indicates animals do not appear to react to silver the way people do, and therefor make poor test subjects.

silver is not expected to be carcinogenic to humans particularly in

Now then, let's move on to silver used internally, because here is where the FDA gets very uncomfortable. Why? Again, it threatens the antibiotics market. Silver is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, so when you ingest it, you might eliminate the need to take various antibiotics. People who experienced little success on prescription antibiotics have taken colloidal silver with great success. Even drug-resistant bacteria are killed by ingested colloidal or ionic silver. The catch is that if you go to your health food store, you'll find a lot of different silver products. Some of them claim 10 parts per million, while others claim 100 parts per million... And that tends to be the only way that people compare these products. They think that more is better. Gee, if it's 200 parts per million, it must be better than 10 parts per million. Well, the truth is that's not the case at all. It's not a straight numbers competition; it has to do with the way the silver is structured. And frankly, in the initial research I've done on this, there are apparently a lot of con artists out there in the market selling lousy silver products. They say they have a certain size of particle and they don't. So, when should you take silver? Well, first off, let's get the issue of friendly flora out of the way. Based on the research I've done (and my own experience), it is my belief that you're going to be wiping out some of your friendly intestinal flora by taking supplementary silver. Some companies say their silver product won't wipe out intestinal flora, but I have a big question about that. How does silver know the difference between friendly bacteria and unfriendly bacteria? See, I don't think silver knows that difference. I think it wipes out all the bacteria. So if you are taking a silver product, you should recognize you are going to create an imbalance in your intestinal flora that will significantly impact the nutrition you're absorbing from your small intestine. If you're taking silver products, you need to take some acidophilus and other probiotics at the same time. Rely on probiotics any time you're using silver internally, as you will need them. ------Like any other "natural" treatment, you should learn as much about it as you can before you incorporate it into use, and keep your common sense handy. Then in January of this year I was took I had MRSA and then a month later my 20 year old daughter found out she had it.She had a boil in the front between her legs and and on the sids of her finger nails. We both have trouble with bandaid. They leave marks on the skin, but not on the bottom. In March I went to a Health Food Store to buy something I read about and a clerk told me about his staph he had and what he used. I bought hight potent Colloidal Silver (500ppm) and MSM lotion. He told me to take a MSM lotion in my hand and a drop of Colloidal Silver, mix it together and rub it on my boil. It worked on my side boil, but not on my bottom because anything I put on my bottom will be saoked up and the boil gets bigger. I put a drop of the Colloidal silver on my finger and rub it in and it works. I only use it when the boil is small. I even take 3 drops by mouth 2-3 times a day all the time and my boils are geting smaller.
I was told by a doctor not to soak in a hot bath because you can reinfect the boil and that is true. I stoped going that and my boils don't get as big. I even found out by using a hot compress it does the same thing(boil gets bigger) Now I jut use Colloidal Silver, cover it and forget about it and it goes away faster."

After 1-2 hr it stops hurting, stops "growing". Up to 3 days it subsides to red spot. You can use small hair spry bottle (with very fine mist like spry). If you have acne or boils more then one and you expect more to show up spray it on your skin just once and let it dry. Nothing will break out! I suffered for almost 30 years from something what doctor called "diaper rush" (!). The pic of my "diaper rush" was always during summer months. After using once single spray of Colloidal Silver Water I am free of this skin condition. I will get 1 tiny pimple time to time but who hasn't have it during hot summer days?"

[YEA] 12/07/2006: Maddy from Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, UK: "I have asthma and bronchiectasis (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). Was diagnosed 8 years ago. I was suffering from monthly (sometimes twice monthly) chest infections, and had to take antibiotics for every outbreak and becoming more and more resistant and sensitive to the drugs. I started using Colloidal Silver in my nebuliser about a year ago now and have not had a chest infection since. As soon as I feel my sputum changing (from clear to yellow) I use the colloidal silver and the infection does not develop any further. My doctor offered to give me an injection containing a steroid (I believe she said), but I told her I preferred not to have that and I'd see how it went. The next day my ears felt full and plugged up, with mild pain. I imagine they were infected. I sprayed Colloidial Silver in each ear - about 3 sprays in each ear and allowed it to get inside, tilting my head to each side for a few minutes. This alleviated the pain and fullness as well as the dizziness. It started to come back the next day and I repeated the treatment. It did not return."

I lived alone with no real friends in Reno so I read up and selected Colloidal Silver as the best bet. I went and picked up some high quality Colloidal Silver. Within a few hours the flu symptoms were gone. I tend to be minimal with medicine so I only used the silver when I felt bad. No flu yet this season.
I used a teaspoon several times a day of a top rated brand. I also could not afford to keep buying it so I bought 2 Canadian silver dollars and made my own machine. I am an electronics tech and did well in my college chemistry so it seemed obvious how to build a device that would yield a higher percentage of true colloidal over an ionic solution. You MUST use distilled water and shiny clean electrodes. I heated my water and drove off the dissolved gasses. I used a 30V square wave at about 50kHz to theoretically dislodge microscopic particals of silver into the solution. After about 4-6 hours the electrodes start showing some corrosion and have used that as my finish point. It has worked as well as the store bought solution at a fraction of the cost. I have been giving out bottles to people I'm starting to know and to date, none of them have gotten sick from the flu this year."

In the meantime, my husband contracted gastro with fevers and chills and after 3 days of me nagging, he finally took the massive dosage of 200ml of CS in water, followed by another glass of water (recommended by the manufacturer). Half an hour later his fever was gone, colour had returned and he was mucking around and that was that, he was cured!
However..the morning after I was doing the shopping and started to get hot and cold flushes and stomach cramps. Made it back home and followed the same regime as my husband with the CS, and timed it. Ten minutes - fever had dropped. An hour later - stomach cramps gone and never returned.
As someone who contracts gastro at the drop of a hat, you can imagine this has made me very happy..!"

If you are here, you are also like me, and you are looking for a remedy and an alternative to what's available to you now. I starting researching remedies on the internet about 2 weeks ago, after extensive "surfing" (I can't call it research because I really don't know the motive behind what people post online... There's a lot of misinformation out there) Collectively, I decided that CS might be worth giving a try, I had never heard of it prior to this, I purchased it a few days later at a local co-op for $37. The product that I'm using is Sovereign Silver 10ppm. (Since I bought it I found a lab that test all different kinds of CS and this one ranks mid-pack although there are much better options out there. Next I'm buying Mesosilver) In the past when I've been to the doctor, I've felt that they weren't very helpful and it's very expensive. So I started looking for something better.
I began using CS about 8 days ago now. I have a variety of symptoms, and my illness goes unknown dues to lack of financial resources/health insurance. I started using CS in order to (hopefully) cure some/all of my ailments before going to see a "medical professional" I've been using it to treat my eyes which look red and dry most of the time, a drop in both eyes a handful of times since purchased, and there does seem to be some improvement... Both eyes feel markedly better and they appear to be clearer overall. I have been taking about 2 oz a day orally as well, I have been suffering from dry mouth and a flemy cough, now my mouth feels moist throughout the day and my throat began clearing out within a day. Also, I feel like I have more energy, although I think I may feel more energetic because CS appears to be helping.
Since I've just started taking it, I don't have a lot of information to give you, but it does seem to be helping and it started almost immediately. Good Luck and I will be happy to answer any questions you might have."

While silver's a great antibiotic, it's also a metal and something we don't flush back out of our systems very easily; it will accumulate, like lead, mercury and several other metals, within our tissues. The reason we don't have silver warnings written all over everything is it's rare and hard enough that it doesn't typically enter the system in such concentrations as to be damaging; however, to use it internally, or to use it on membranous tissues, makes it possible for it to concentrate to such a degree as to do more harm than help. Thus I wouldn't advocate the use of colloidal silver except in topical conditions, such as a surface skin infection, away from eyes, nose, mouth and any similar mucus membranes.
Remember, just because something occurs in nature doesn't mean it can't be bad for you. The trick is finding what would occur in a human body in nature, and with metals that usually means exceedingly small amounts."

The discomfort is almost gone. I also feel calmer and more sure of myself. Have less mental fog. Correct me if I'm wrong, aren't zinc, copper, magnesium, and chromium also metals that our bodies need? We know that there are ways of removing heavy metals from our systems; there must be a way to remove unnecessary silver as well."

Silver has been used for a very long time in the pharmaceutical world until less expensive (more profitable) alternatives were concocted in a laboratory by Big Pharma. Iron is a naturally occuring metal, yet if we do not have enough iron in our bodies, we are unable to make hemoglobin, an extremely important oxygen transporter in red blood cells. While some metals are certainly important to avoid in our bodies (heavy metals, lead, mercury, etc.), there are certain others that are required and still others that are simply beneficial under certain circumstances. It is best to do one's homework and see what works for you and your body..."
06/08/2011: Aeri from Columbus, Ohio replies: "Since reading the posts on this site, I have a few comments to make.First, there are differences in the type of Silver you buy/make; Colloidial, Ionic. Or Salts. The differences are how small the silver particles are. In the case of the discoloration of skin, it is the mass amounts of salts that are taken over long periods of time. Me personally, am quite picky about supplements that I use and I do extensive research before buying. I have had much success using Ionic Silver.
Second, understand that silver is anti-bacterial and each person has a different reaction to how the silver works throughout the body. Many people may experience what's called a Herxheimer reaction. This occurs when large quantities of toxins are released into the body as bacteria die. Which in turn means you may feel a whole lot worse before you get better.
Third, people may have concerns about silver being a metal and harming the body. Again, silver used in moderation is key. Also, if people are that concerned about metal poisoning, then begin to eliminate all aluminum and copper pots, pop/soda and food cans, drinking tap water, eating all processed foods, etc... Because people are ingesting toxic amounts of metals and poisons on a daily basis.
Trust me, we need small amounts of these metals for our bodies to function and adding Colloidial or Ionic Silver is an added benefit. The only advice I have is to do some research and use discernment from where you buy from. Good luck and many blessings for health and well-being!"

I tested positive 5 years ago (CD4 350 and VL 70k back then) but for various reasons declined any stardard chemo treatments (doctors hate me for that). For those of you suffering from spasms and muscle aches I found that Magnesium 400 mg and Malic Acid 600 mg 3x per day last dose before bed is most beneficial.
I am in the belief that my FMS symptoms and the chronic fatigue were a combination brought on by a severe systemic candidiasis condition. Suppliments along with the diet really made a difference for me.

*Keep in mind that disease and infection need an acidic environment to grow. The Standard American diet of dairy products, white flour, sugar, processed foods, etc. All promote an acidic environment. By raising the alkalinity (through baking soda or watermelon or other highly alkaline foods), you balance the ph of your blood. A body that is balanced can heal itself much quicker and easier than one tht is highly acidic.
Drink lots of water with fresh lemon juice squeezed into it, eat lots of fresh leafy green salads, drink green smoothies (ex: spinach, bananas and coconut water [or distilled water]) or green juices (ex: two large Fuji apples, two leaves of kale and squeeze in a wedge of fresh lime... I had some kind of terrible itching "down there" which I think first started out as the result of an abrasion that wasn't healing properly, and then got worse because of a reaction to the ultra cheap toilet paper at work. This was getting worse over the course of several weeks.
I got some relief from colloidal silver applied topically. I did that for a couple of days and it was helping. Then I mixed some colloidal silver and some tea tree oil with some aloe vera gel, and applied that, it was way too strong, but even though it had a warm sensation and I wanted to rinse most of it off right away it gave immediate and lasting relief from the itching. The next day I took some of the too-strong mixture and diluted it in some unscented lotion (Nature's Gate brand, very mild). I have been using that for a couple of days after showering and it is amazing how effective it is. No more itching and everything is healing nicely. Worked great. Then two days after I started getting the bronchitis, I woke up with a raging, burning sore throat and felt so ill, that I was thinking about calling in sick for work.
