oregano oil for leishmaniasis

Leishmaniasis is a disease caused by parasites. It is transmitted by sand flies. The disease is most commonly contracted in the tropics, subtropics, and southern Europe. The disease can affect the skin, causing sores, and can affect internal organs, including the spleen, liver, and bone marrow. Natural remedies for leishmaniasis include colloidal silver, garlic, black walnut, and turpentine.

Garlic

Garlic is an inexpensive and potent anti-parasitic herb. Garlic can be used internally and externally. To use garlic on an external parasitic infection, mince several cloves of garlic and heat gently in some extra virgin coconut oil. (8 cloves of garlic to 1/4 cup of coconut oil.) Keep the heat low enough that you do not brown the garlic. After 30 minutes, strain out the garlic and use the oil topically twice a day. Alternatively, take a garlic bath. Chop the cloves from a garlic bulb and let them sit for 15 minutes. Then add them to a warm bath and soak for at least 20 minutes. Garlic baths can be taken once or twice a day.

To take garlic internally, mince one clove of garlic and mix it with coconut oil, honey, or yogurt. Garlic can easily be added to a salad as well. Take at least one clove of garlic internally three times a day.

Colloidal Silver

Colloidal Silver can be used internally or externally for a variety of infections. An adult dose would be two tablespoons of 30 ppm colloidal silver three times a day on an empty stomach.

Studies have shown that nanosilver is a potential natural cure for Leishmaniasis (see Art's post under Colloidal Silver in the table of contents below).

Black Walnut

A tincture of black walnut is used for parasites and can also be used internally and externally. To take internally, add 1 dropperful of black walnut tincture to 1 ounce of water and taken 4 times a day between meals.

The tincture can also be sprayed on wounds caused by parasites.

Turpentine

Turpentine has been used as an anti-parasitic remedy for generations. To take it internally, saturate sugar cubes with turpentine. Take 1/4 teaspoon twice a day. Turpentine can be used topically as well - mix it with equal parts of carrier oil like olive oil or coconut oil. Be sure to buy a high-quality and organic turpentine when you are using it for health purposes.

When your body is fighting a serious parasitic infection, it is important to support your immune system as best you can. Taking extra vitamin c and b-complex, daily doses of sunshine, and avoiding sugar and processed foods during the healing time are very important.

Antiparasitic Tincture and Oregano Oil for Leishmaniasis

I developed the same thing this year, except I caught it earlier so it was localised in two places on my face. A sore pimple appeared suddenly above my eye so I treated it with my usual anti pimple lotion and it had no effect. It grew and then erupted into a crusty sore. I had never experienced anything like it before in my life so I knew it wasn't just an acne pimple - this was different. It was also through prayer that I was shown to use Greek oregano oil. I actually wasn't sure whether it was a parasite or this leishmaniasis or what it was, but through prayer I remembered a splash of water or something had gone into my eye on a cycle a few days prior and I remember thinking at the time that I need to do something about that but had no eye drops or anything with me and then forgot about it.

I live in a temperate region but it is still the UK so I wouldn't have expected something like this here, but these strange crusty, painful sores developed and it felt as though something was crawling under my skin - in the same place and so I checked on the internet to see whether my suspicions were correct and they were. The likelihood of it being a parasite was slim but I went all out to get rid of it just in case.

I took a herbal anti parasite tincture including black walnut and used oregano oil diluted in carrier oil all over my face for about 5 days. Completely stopped the horrible movement feeling under my skin after 24hrs and stopped the crusty things getting bigger but I continued until I knew for certain they'd be gone. Unfortunately, they have two left craters in my face and although small, they're not very nice. They are genuine indentations though, so whatever it was, managed to remove layers of my skin.

I suspect it was a sandfly too.

I removed a deep scar with high potency antioxidants: OPCs, find a good one and take internally. I did not need a scar cream but those are out there too. My scar was deep and 40 years old and it just disappeared. This is the product I used many years ago, recipe may have improved...https://www.amazon.com/Mannatech-Ambrotose-Protection-Oxidative-Environmental/dp/B00BPPKKI6

I have a scar/small pit on my cheek. I tried Botox against my better judgment and it made it worse. You believe taking this supplement could help? I'm so self conscious of it but don't want to do anything else cosmetically. I've actually just started putting caster oil on it as I've read that can help as well.
Thank you!

Try beef tallow with Manuka honey. Great for healing scars. The Van Man company sells it and it works.

I was looking through the ailments page and did not see a page listing for Leishmaniasis so I thought I would mention this potential remedy in case EC decides to add a page for it and just in case anyone happens to be looking for a remedy. Here is an abstract discussing the potential use of silver nanoparticles as a potential remedy.

Author information

Abstract

Leishmaniasis is a protozoan vector-borne disease and is one of the biggest health problems of the world. Antileishmanial drugs have disadvantages such as toxicity and the recent development of resistance. One of the best-known mechanisms of the antibacterial effects of silver nanoparticles(Ag-NPs) is the production of reactive oxygen species to which Leishmania parasites are very sensitive. So far no information about the effects of Ag-NPs on Leishmania tropica parasites, the causative agent of leishmaniasis, exists in the literature. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Ag-NPs on biological parameters of L. tropica such as morphology, metabolic activity, proliferation, infectivity, and survival in host cells, in vitro. Consequently, parasite morphology and infectivity were impaired in comparison with the control. Also, enhanced effects of Ag-NPs were demonstrated on the morphology and infectivity of parasites under ultraviolet (UV) light. Ag-NPs demonstrated significant antileishmanial effects by inhibiting the proliferation and metabolic activity of promastigotes by 1.5- to threefold, respectively, in the dark, and 2- to 6.5-fold, respectively, under UV light. Of note, Ag-NPs inhibited the survival of amastigotes in host cells, and this effect was more significant in the presence of UV light. Thus, for the first time the antileishmanial effects of Ag-NPs on L. tropica parasites were demonstrated along with the enhanced antimicrobial activity of Ag-NPs under UV light. Determination of the antileishmanial effects of Ag-NPs is very important for the further development of new compounds containing nanoparticles in leishmaniasis treatment.

I developed Cutaneous Leishmaniasis while living Buckeye, Arizona, in 2016. It is 30 miles west of Phoenix and is next to Luke Air Force Base. It occurred after I was bitten by sandflies while living in Buckeye, Arizona. An I.D. doctor in Scottsdale diagnosed me. He was a specialist in Vector Bourne Chronic Diseases.

Classic Leishmaniasis sores developed on my upper back, neck and frequently reoccured just above both of my temples on the scalp. The sores were very painful and oozed goo and debris.

The only treatment that completely got rid of them was a treatment I read about in a Brazilian medical article - applying oregano essential oil, neat, multiple times a day (3-8 applications) until the lesions dried up. If I caught the lesion early I could even prevent it from erupting. If I forgot to apply the oil for 1/2 - 1 day the lesion would start to become worse. Eventually, no more lesions appeared on my skin. I have been lesion free for 3 years.

I was not sure which species of oregano oil to apply so I applied two species: oreganum vulgare and oreganum heracleoticum from Greece. Both oils were very potent and stung. Though, the pain quickly subsided.

Later, I also took oregano oil internally, with other anti-leishmanisis essential oils for months. I am not sure if taking the oils internally did anything for getting rid of the lesions.

I had to take a very potent probiotic at bedtime because oregano oil can wipe out the flora in your intestines.... think "stinky" bottom.

My doctor was impressed that I resolved the infection on my own. I think prayer led me to helpful information.

Dear Sherri, I found your article on Leishmaniasis very interesting. My husband caught it in Saudi Arabia in the '80s and he has Reoccurring episodes of it periodically. His is "old world leishmaniasis, " and is an internal not external manifestation of the disease. Would you kindly be able to tell us who your doctor was in Scottsdale AZ? We would like to contact him. Your solution was fascinating and yes, prayer is powerful. Wishing you the Best! Linda C.

Hi Linda,

I am sorry to hear about your husband's condition and I hope he is able to resolve it soon.

The physician I saw was Stephen E. Fry, MD. He is founder of Fry Laboratories LLC and the Southwest Center for Chronic Disease. The lab specializes in the vector borne diseases. 14807 N 73rd St. Suite 104 Scottsdale, AZ. 85260 480-292-8560 I hope he is able to help you or to lead to other resources that might. He noticed the bites on my calves and readily recognized sandfly bites which had caused the lesions. Since then, I have researched this condition quite extensively.

Wishing you health and happiness, Sherri

Hi, any advice would be great, if you happen to see this and feel guided to help.

My 5 year old and I have recently came home from Turkey on 4th December, it is now 14th December. Whilst in Turkey, around 30th November to the 2nd December, I noticed tiny flies in our room only coming on a night time which was near the beach. We all got bitten, but her mostly. Our bites have cleared up, but hers have spread down left side of her body since returning to UK.

Around 6th December she had a night of being sick and shaky, she was ok the following day, although very poorly through the night, the day after this, the red closed spots (look similar to chickenpox) on left side of her face started to spread rapidly around her eyes, face and down her left arm. Initially, I thought chicken pox. I then wondered as she has had chicken pox twice already and my intuition was telling me them flies.

I took her to see our GP ( Doctor in UK) for him to b confused, he got a second opinion and the other GP didnt know what it was either. I mentioned this disease and they said they don't know about diseases from different countries and had a less than a minute google search on one webpage only and said she doesn't think it's this as she was looking at the image. My gut says otherwise, I was refused an antibody test to try to determine the cause of these spreading red spots since returning home from Turkey, to be given an appointment in a few days with a GP in the surgery with a background in dermatology. I am literally sick with worry.

Do you know of any natural remedies I can give my 5 year old please?

Dear Victoria,

It is going to be difficult to use topical remedies so close to her eye! But internal remedies should help a systemic problem.

If this were my child I would try garlic, turmeric, and black walnut.

Chop up 1/2 clove of garlic and let it sit 15 minutes. Then figure out a way your child will take it. It could be mixed with butter or honey and given on toast. I have mixed that with honey and given it by spoon to a child. It can be added to beans and rice or yogurt or anything you think of, really. It would be best to add it after food is cooked, though.

Try to get 1/2 clove of raw garlic in her 4 times a day.

1/4 teaspoon turmeric would also be a good thing to get into her four times a day. It can be added similarly. It goes down easy in yogurt. (A high probiotic yogurt would be a good addition to your protocol anyway.)

If you can get a hold of black walnut tincture, 10 drops 4 times a day is what I would give a small child.

You could try extra virgin coconut oil or castor oil on the sores directly. Either is safe if it gets in the eyes and has healing properties.

A good diet is important for healing. Avoid sugar and processed foods. A vitamin C supplement will help the immune system to fight better.

Please let me know how it goes.

Hi. I just began using oregano oil neat. The lesions on my cheek are frightening and I am wondering how long did you apply the oregano oil before you saw improvement.

I have done Dr Hulda Clark's 18 day parasite cleanse and this is my fourth week on maintenance dose. I just received biopsy confirmation of cutaneous leishmania. At first I thought it was a Brazilian recluse spider bite. I start hyperbolic oxygen lV therapy Thursday and am still awaiting a referral to infectious disease specialist. The second lesion appeared the day I received biopsy results. I prefer naturopathic holistic methods but am very concerned with the depth and placement of lesions. I would appreciate communication with someone whom has cured their leichmania. Please reach out if you are willing to speak with me. Thank you, Sarah

Hi Sahar,

Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth is the best parasite killer.

You can put 1/2 spoon in a glass of watrt and drink it nightly, also sprinkel lightly all over infected areas. All parasites are atracted to it.

I had scabies and wiped powfer all over my body at bedtime 2 weeks they where all gone.Remember it has to be Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth and only use a plastic or wooden spoon all the time. Never metal spoon.

This is the #1 Parasite killer..

Good luck Sahar

I've tried all the mentioned remedies for Leishmaniasis and the only one that really did the trick was gum turpentine, but straight, not diluted.

So, if something worked for leishmaniasis, it would be helpful and important to offer more details. What kind of leishmaniasis did you have? Cutaneous? Mucosal? Visceral? What symptoms did you have? How exactly did you fix the leishmaniasis problem? How much of the ingredients? How did you take them? Put them on the skin? Ingest them? How often and for how long? I would appreciate it if you could write more. Thank you.
