Colloidal Silver

Colloidal silver is a natural remedy known for its powerful antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It has been used for centuries to treat infections, including those associated with a tooth abscess. By targeting the bacteria that cause the infection, colloidal silver can help reduce pain, swelling, and promote healing. Below, we explore how colloidal silver can be effectively used for a tooth abscess.

Benefits of Colloidal Silver for a Tooth Abscess

  • Antibacterial Properties: Colloidal silver is renowned for its ability to kill a wide range of bacteria. This makes it particularly effective in fighting the bacterial infection that causes a tooth abscess, helping to prevent the infection from spreading.
  • Anti-Inflammatory Effects: In addition to its antibacterial properties, colloidal silver can help reduce inflammation and swelling in the affected area, providing relief from pain and discomfort.
  • Healing Support: By reducing the bacterial load and inflammation, colloidal silver supports the body's natural healing processes, promoting quicker recovery from a tooth abscess.

How to Use Colloidal Silver for a Tooth Abscess

Here’s how you can use colloidal silver to help manage a tooth abscess:

  1. Mouth Rinse: Use a teaspoon of colloidal silver (10 to 20 ppm) as a mouth rinse. Swish it around the affected area for about 5 minutes, ensuring that it reaches the abscess. Spit out the solution after rinsing. Repeat this 2-3 times a day.
  2. Topical Application: Soak a cotton ball in colloidal silver and place it directly on the abscess or the affected gum area. Hold it in place for a few minutes to allow the colloidal silver to penetrate and fight the infection.
  3. Ingestion: Some people also choose to ingest colloidal silver to support overall immune function and help fight the infection from within. A common dosage is one teaspoon, taken 1-2 times daily, but it's important to consult a healthcare provider for personalized advice.

Precautions When Using Colloidal Silver

While colloidal silver can be effective in treating a tooth abscess, it's important to use it safely:

  • Ensure you are using a high-quality colloidal silver product. Low-quality or impure products may not be effective and could potentially be harmful.
  • Consult a healthcare professional before ingesting colloidal silver, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any underlying health conditions.
  • Use colloidal silver as a complementary treatment. A tooth abscess requires professional dental care to fully address the underlying issue and prevent complications.

Final Thoughts

Colloidal silver offers a natural and powerful way to manage the symptoms of a tooth abscess, particularly by fighting infection and reducing inflammation. However, it's important to remember that while colloidal silver can provide temporary relief, professional dental care is essential for a complete resolution of the abscess.

Not sure, so I have this real bad tooth now for 2 years, as the dentists here don't want to deal with it. I live in an area where you have to resort to natural healing because the medical system here is bad. I've been to a dentist and he said I had a cavity and that was it and walked away. Never fixed it, that's the extent of the service here. So I got some colloidal silver recently and it's not helping. Maybe I got a bad brand, it would be nice to know what brand to go buy since there are so many out there.

Anyway I swish this in my mouth for awhile, I internally take it, as my pain is not going away. I apply it directly to the tooth and let it sit there for awhile and the pain stays. It doesn't even put a dent in it. Today I got some sovereign silver because I heard it was the best. It takes months here to get a dental appt we're talking 5, the population here is 321 don't ask me. I lucked out and got one in 3 days because someone cancelled. So I'm going to go back to the original guy and see what he says. I can't get in anywhere for an extraction as they just say they are backed up months. This current silver I'm using is supposed to be 500 but its not all that cracked up to be. I don't believe it's authentic. I'll see what happens with the Sovereign I have faith that it will work. I have an infection in my face and it's not fun, anyway that's my experience so far.

Linda,

Sovereign Silver is only 10 ppm which is fairly weak. I have used 320 ppm silver for infections around the teeth, but have never had any luck with gargling or swishing for a toothache.

What has worked everytime for me is to take a cotton ball and shred it into two equally sized pieces if it is a thick cotton ball and I save the other half for the next application. If it is a thin cotton ball, I just use the whole thing. I saturate it with 320 ppm silver and place it between the cheek and the gum in the area of infection and leave it there for hours. I replace it several times a day. I continue until the infection is gone which usually takes two days and sometimes 3 days.

If I myself had silver that is 10 ppm and silver that is 500 ppm, I would use the 500 ppm. The thing with CS is it seems to be more effective when it stays wet and in direct contact with the infected area. This allows time for it to actually reach the infection which is needed in order for it to kill the pathogens causing an infection. CS needs to come in actual contact with the pathogen in order to destroy it. This has been my experience and that is all I am doing, relating my experience with colloidal silver and not giving medical advice. After 24 hours of using this treatment I usually start to notice a reduction in swelling and by the second day the swelling is usually gone as is the pain. By the third day in my worst experience, pain and swelling are gone. If that doesn't happen, then I am off to the doctor or dentist.

Two years is an extremely long time to have this type of infection and you may have serious complications due to the length of time you have had it.

Linda,

I look forward to your update. I will mention something that I do, but can not recommend because it could be dangerous.

I also use the cotton ball/CS while I sleep because I know I have done this in the past with no problem, but it could potentially introduce the risk of choking which could be life threatening and that is why I can not recommend it to anyone else. Much safer to do while awake.

Hi Art,

Well I had the tooth extracted, it's been 11 days. I'm dealing with extreme head pain and the infection went into my eye during when I still had tooth. I also had tremendous swelling around extraction which I thought I had still infection. I put the cotton ball every night and it seemed to take down swelling. I have a big black and blue mark on my chin from the guy wrestling with my tooth when trying to pull it. I've been using silver in my eye as eye drops with not much results. It's still red and hurts. Swishing with 500 daily, yet the area still throbs. I read in a dental forum of dentists saying, if you go on Dr. Google they will tell you that you have infection that can kill you, actually we have never seen that in 30 years as your immune system kills any bacterial from abscesses. I have extreme headache, and I gone through all my antibiotics, I don't want to drink the silver as I see on amazon people are saying-don't drink it. Though I've seen many do drink it, don't ask me. Anyway that's where I'm at in healing. Oh and the cotton ball stays in place all night, and I also don't taste any metallic in the brand I have it just tastes like water.

Editor's Choice Linda,

These are the serious type of complications I was referring to in my original reply to you and I have heard of worse.

The fact that the swelling has gone down suggests that the silver is working locally as intended. The problem is that in order for the silver to work, it has to come in direct contact or extremely close proximity to the pathogen and with a local topical application, such as you did with the cotton ball, it can not travel very far and the pathogens are clearly out of reach of the topical CS.

If you do not want to take CS orally based on the postings on Amazon, you will have to use another type of highly potent type of antimicrobial that has antibiofilm qualities. An infection that has been active for two or more years is likely to have developed biofilms to protect the pathogen('s) and this could be why the antibiotics are not working. In studies CS has shown synergy with certain antibiotics and has also shown the ability to make certain antibiotics effective again if the pathogen has developed resistance, but CS is no longer a consideration so you will have to use something else.

A potent antimicrobial that has some biofilm busting activity is Olive Leaf Extract (OLE). N Acetyl Cysteine (NAC), while not generally considered to be an antimicrobial, actually is an antimicrobial and it does have potent biofilm busting activities. Another potent antimicrobial to consider is iodine which again has antibiofilm activity.

I don't know what dilution of CS you are putting in your eyes and why you are putting it there, but I hope it is not the straight 500 ppm that you said you have. It's way too concentrated for even one drop.

Dear Linda, I'm surprised the antibiotic didn't work. My dentist always prescribes 500 mg amoxicillin to be taken 4 times a day. What helped with my tooth abscess was a half clove of raw garlic every 4 hours. After two days it was gone. Coconut oil and salt water are also helpful. They are anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal. For headaches oolong tea helps me. Also coffee in the morning for mild headaches. Cayenne pepper, turmeric and salmon are anti-inflammatory.

Linda,

I went back and reread your post to see why you were using colloidal silver in your eye. I missed that the first time. An eye infection of this type is serious and dangerous. I highly recommend you have your doctor treat the eye infection as soon as possible! You don't want to hesitate on seeing the doctor for this eye infection!

My goodness Linda. If I were dealing with an infection that was spreading to that degree, I would definitely drink a colloidal silver that I felt was a good quality / brand. I would also use other things to get rid of the infection. Something that's worked well for my family is Lugol's iodine. I was able to get a large bottle of 2% on Amazon, so we use that. It's worked well painted on the skin for all sorts of things, including sore throats. You could try carefully painting the iodine on the skin around the areas that are infected. If the iodine irritates sensitive skin, you can dilute it with distilled or purified water. DMSO (50% strength is good) painted on top (or premixed) will further help transport the iodine into the infected tissue. I have also used this combo to swish in my mouth for several minutes, taking care to suck the mixture in between all areas of my teeth. If your skin feels irritated, some people have found applying a thin layer of castor oil on the skin before the DMSO helps quite a bit. Experiment and see what works for you.

Lastly, I have used distilled water with a few drops of iodine added (making a very light yellow mixture) directly in my eyes. It's a very diluted solution and can sting a bit if are dealing with an infection. But it's worked well. Last, a dilute mixture of iodine and saline (distilled water + salt) could be used in a Neti pot to rinse sinus cavities, which is also another route to get the iodine where it needs to go to kill the infection.

I hope you have a doctor you can see right away for help. It sounds serious and you'll want to take every measure you can to make sure it doesn't spread and get worse.

Dear Linda, I had a back tooth on the only side I still have to eat on, as the other side has two missing teeth, which prevents me from chewing. I wanted to save that tooth VERY badly, so I put some Lugol's Iodine, full strength, on a Q-Tip and carefully rubbed it on the gum around the bottom of the tooth just once. Yes, it stung for a minute, but the next day the pain was gone and has not returned. I eat just fine now on that side. That was at least 6 months ago. Tooth was saved.

I've had resorption in a front tooth root. It was diagnosed 5 years ago and gave me no trouble, and the tooth looks fine and isn't loose and looks perfect, no sign of holes or decay. Both the dentist and I decided to wait and see with it. 5 years ago, it felt very uncomfortable for a couple of weeks then settled down.

That started again last week. I swished some herbal stuff round it every day and sometimes it was a little better, sometimes not. There was no pain at all, just felt bruised on the gum, and when I pressed my upper lip under my nose. It went on like that until today. No real sign of any infection, just maybe some inflammation going on? So I thought....

Yesterday I bought some colloidal silver and put it on a piece of cotton wool against the gum and under my top lip, and held it there maybe an hour. I did that 4 times in the day. I didn't notice much except a peculiar 'metallic' (?) kind of smell in my nose. Hard to describe that smell. It came and went. I felt fine in myself.

So I went to sleep, woke up 5 hours later. All hell let loose. Gum started really bleeding. Then pus started coming out at the top of the tooth. I felt so shaky, scary, almost panicked (which could have been reaction to my morning coffee?) Head ached, neck ached, heart beat faster....etc.

All day the tooth has been draining. I have been rinsing with all sorts; echinacea tincture, Thyme, salt water, keeping it clean there. Put another piece of cotton wool with colloidal silver on it twice already today. Still draining and I feel a bit better in myself now.

Full time job today...rinse, drain, rinse, c. silver, drink lots of water, teas etc, rinse and repeat! For eight hours.

The gum is not as tender at all at the top under the nose like it was. But all this gunk is coming out from the gum. Yuck. Plus I feel super tired and haven't eaten a thing yet. Headache all day (maybe lack of sleep and food too.)

Wow! I did not expect such a dramatic thing with the colloidal silver. It tastes like water! Monitoring this and working it. Not sure what will happen yet. I never tried CS before. Massive effect from it.

Definitely the CS that caused this. Not decided yet if this is what's called a 'healing crisis'....part herx?....or just par for the course? I have to keep going with this, and hope things settle down.

I only gave it 4 stars because I'm not sure what's going on yet. But something definitely is. Powerful stuff!

Colloidal Silver for an infected tooth

While at work one morning, after a candy eating jag of leftover Halloween candy, the lower left side of my face started swelling. It was visible. I keep a bottle of colloidal silver on my desk. I had a meeting in 3 hrs and didn't want a swollen jaw for it. I took swigs of it from a shot glass until about 250ml was gone. I took a lot as I could feel the swelling increasing!

By my lunch meeting, it was gone. This is the stuff of miracles, I tell ya.

I was in the worst pain!! Up all night crying like a baby! I couldn't get comfortable I couldn't sit still, I was in horrible pain! The only other time I ever recall being in that amount of uncomfortable horrendous nonstop pain in my life was while I was in labor! I was trying my best to keep my head busy & I did that by searching aimlessly for ANYTHING AT ALL TO RELIEVE SOME PAIN! I found sooo many different remedies & I was writing them all down so my husband could go buyall of them hoping at Lyons would work! I then remembered having colloidal silver in my cabinet I bought previously for my mom when she had pink eye, she did the research herself, so I hadn't known much about it. I remember after it sitting on my cabinet so long I finally looked it up myself in hopes of getting use out of it & for the most part it was described as a natural replacement for antibiotics. I after days of pain remembered this & thought to myself why is this not in the list?? This has to be of use with a tooth infection!

So I googled “colloidal silver and abscess tooth “ sure enough there is was! I immediately ran to the cabinet & dropped some in my mouth swished it around & just held it there for a while. I immediately could feel the pain dramatically subsiding!!!! I also took 1tablespoon 3 Times a day from then on until about two days after the abscess was healed. It's the best stuff ever I use it in so many places in my life & home now! I just don't understand why when you google how to help your abscess tooth NOTHING comes up unless you specifically look up colloidal silver.

I had a tooth abscess in my gum. I went on an anti biotic as well as rinsed for 20 mins x 5 times day with collodial silver and by day 3 the abscess was gone. I can't believe it. $25 bottle from a healthfood shop at laidley. Best $25 ever spent as my abscess was near my crown. Wished I had taken a pic.

Hello Fiona;

Re; colloidal silver as mouthwash

You ask .... can you use CS as a mouthwash?

Of course. Drink it, use as sinus/ear irrigation, so you can certainly use as a mouthwash. Two tablespoons...swish around, let drain down throat. All that is ok. And I also hold in my mouth and under tongue for a full minute which allows the CS to absorb into all the crevices in the mouth and keeps infections low which might invade via breakages inside mouth. I especially use it that way immediately after getting my teeth cleaned at dentist office. When last crown was put on, I insisted on swishing my mouth out with my little bottle of CS before the crown was put on to make sure no viruses under new repair.

Tooth pain cure - Colloidal Silver - 500 PPM

Forget root canals, folks. I absolutely LOVE this site and use it all the time now... For the remedy for tooth pain which is usually a fungus/bacterial infection: I have used antibiotics in past for this but do not want to use them anymore. Went to Health Store and they told me that Colloidal Silver is the alternative "natural antibiotic". My pain was very high around upper gum area and unidentifiable as to which tooth, only vicinity. I put 2-3 drops from dropper (undiluted) of CS to the area and in a few hours - PAIN GONE! It was fantastic. Antibiotics took 3 days to do this. CS goes to the infection to kill it. It is safe if you don't over use CS. I also used Clove Bud oil to "numb" the pain and that worked very well. I only used CS 2 days as the pain went away so quickly... And I know it was a tooth infection. The last time I went to a dentist for this they wanted to do 2 root canals and 2 crowns to the tune of $5, 000. ~~ so root canals are one big mistake. Dentists take advantage, same as MD's. Be careful before you do any dental surgury... as it is not healthy way to go....

Had a tooth infection in the back tooth that needed a root canal. The infection was at the root of the tooth and in the jaw bone. Tried garlic, cloves, hydrogen peroxide, antibiotics, and everything else of EC. Nothing worked. Went ahead and got the root canal and it was still infected. Tried a 3 more rounds of antibiotics and it didn't work. After a year of this tooth being infected, the dentist wanted to pull the tooth.

I heard about colliodial silver so decided to try it. Used about 4 drops in just enough water ( a few drops) to be able to swish in mouth for about 5 minutes, then spit out. Did this 3 times a day for 3 weeks, then 1 time per day for 2 weeks. Within a few days the aching in my jaw stopped. When the dentist took an X-ray about 2-3 months after the treatment, he noticed the infection was gone and the bone growing back.

...I had a filling break while eating some popcorn one night. Within 2 weeks, a cavity formed, which wasn't surprising to me. I've dealt with carries/cavities more than once. For years I've taken plant derived- colloidal minerals (60-80 different minerals). All of my cavities seemed to stop dead in their tracks, but I couldn't pin-point why, or what I was doing. I scheduled a dentist appointment and was expecting to have him do a root canal. I don't have insurance, I pay my bills and wanted to set up some kind of payment plan. The dentist wanted $500 down, and not having that kind of money, I told him "Thank you, but I'll have to figure out something else." Immediately, I went home, cracked open my medical books and started doing a little research. I learned that cavities are caused by a bacteria.I already knew that Silver was an antibiotic, but didn't know how to consume/make it (I also figured out why my cavities, in the past, have stopped while taking the liquid minerals). I did some looking on line, came across directions on how to make colloidal Silver, and for the price of 1 foot .22 gauge Silver wire, a soldering gun and 3 9 volt batteries, I now make my own. Haven't dealt with any mouth problems since!

Four weeks ago, i was eating pop corn and some of the brown stuff that's on it, stuck in my gum. it took a while to pull it out and the gum throbbed alot. the next morning the gum was inflamed and an abscess formed. i tried gargling with salt and water and hydrogen peroxide, gargled with apple cider vinigar, tried putting neem extract on it, ate a bunch of cashews as cashews have a mild poison that works well on gum disease, tried raw garlic with salt and turmuric both eating it and putting it on the wound, which really burned and burned my inner cheek pretty bad. Most of these things just controlled the abscess. it would drain but then it would come back again and the gum was refusing to heal. this went on for about 2 weeks, finally i tried colloidal silver. i drank 4 table spoons per day, and i soaked a cotton ball in colloidal silver and placed it on the wounded gum. within hours not only did the gum drain, it started to heal. after two days of colloidal silver on cotton ball and drinking it, my gum looked clean, pink and as if nothing ever happned. bottom line, colloidal silver for abscess is a very quick remedy. though, make sure to get a good colloidal silver. some companies sell cheap stuff that's immitation, more like ionic silver. i bought a bottle of mesosilver on amazon. expensive but reputable company, which did the trick for me.still beats going to the dentist for him to rip out the tooth or do a root canal, still a lot cheaper. i am as well learning now how to make my own colloidal silver so that i can keep it on hand, should i get sick again.

hope this helps someone.

There are well over 650 different viruses and bacteria that colloidal silver 3000 to 18000 PPM can address. Tooth infections are just a small part of the benefits of colloidal silver. If you do more research you can find clinical trials in other countries that prove that HIV can be addressed with colloidal silver.
