Lemon Juice Compress for Fever

One traditional remedy for fever is to apply a lemon juice compress on each calf. This compress can usually bring the temperature down several degrees in about 15 minutes.

Directions:

1. Fill a small bowl halfway with warm water.

2.  Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the water.  (Note: you can also use apple cider vinegar if you don't have lemons on hand).

3. Soak washcloths, dishtowels, or cotton socks where the toes have been cut out in the warm water and then wring out.

4. Wrap the soaked towel or sock around each calf and then have the patient lie back with towels underneath his/her legs to catch any liquid.

5. Cover the patient with blankets to keep them warm and allow the towels to dry. This takes 20 to 30 minutes.

Lemon-aid for Fever

Here in the southern USA, it gets HOT and Humid. An old folk remedy to combat the heat is to drink fresh lemon-aid throughout the day. Lemons are a febrifuge (a medicine used to reduce fever) Lemon juice helps to protect your body from heatstroke and the sugar in lemon-aid maintains glucose levels in the blood. It also has hydrating properties and can reduce body heat during the hot, humid season. It has the same effect on the body during a fever.

Lemon juice is also a good antiperiodic and has been used as a substitute for quinine in treating malaria and other fevers.

Lemon is used in herbal medicine to help build immunity against colds, influenza, H1N1 (swine) Flu and other viral infections. Relieve chest congestion, coughing and clears the palete. It will replace the fluids lost through sweating. Lemonade (real lemons) is a good choice, too. Lemon water is one of the most important fluids RBTI practitioners use to help the body regain health. It consists of 10 % fresh lemon juice and 90% distilled water. Lemons provide the best building blocks for the liver to help create enzymes and amino acids for new cells, as well as aid in the pickup of the proper calciums, but also helps a bit to regulate the blood sugars and the oxygen levels in the blood. When the body has enough enzymes, it will have a stronger method of selecting the proper calciums from the ones available in the nutrition and the chemistry starts correcting itself.

Lemon juice can help treat a person who is suffering from cold, flu or fever. Lemon helps prevent the growth and multiplication of pathogenic bacteria that cause infections and diseases. It helps to break fever by increasing perspiration. To ease the symptoms of fever and the chills: add the juice of 1 lemon to a cup of hot water with honey and drink every 2 hours until the fever or chill subsides.

How to Use Lemon for Fever?

While you can add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in a glass of water and have this three times a day. Here is an even more effective remedy using lemon juice and honey.

  • Lemon juice- ½ -1 tsp
  • Honey- ½ – 1 tsp
  • 10 oz cold water- 1 glass

Add lemon juice and honey in water.
Mix well and drink it.
You may have this 3 times a day or drink every 2 hours during sickness until the fever or chill subsides.

Fever in babies, a folk remedy is to soak their socks in lemon juice and place them on their feet. The fever should reduce in 40 minutes.

If you want to reap the whole benefits of the lemon, dice up a whole lemon (peel and all) into a blender, add water and blend it up for 3-5 minutes until creamy. Sip thru a straw throughout the day. Repeat 2-3x/daily. The peel contains 5-10 times more vitamins and minerals than does lemon juice.

Editor's Choice Update: The Power of Lemons to Control Fever

I have been treating a friend's grandchild (6 years old) with febrile seizure, a condition that causes convulsion in a child that's caused by a fever. They took the child to their doctor. Ran test for UTI and others. Doctor states they did not find any bacterial infection but, her lab work show an elevated level of (something – not specific) so they put her on Bactrium antibiotics. Told the parent to give baby Tylenol and call back if not better in 10 days.

Well, first thing. Most all FS is caused by a virus that causes roseola (It's an infection brought on by human herpesvirus 6 or, occasionally, human herpesvirus 7. It remains in the child's body but usually remains latent, or turned off.), which often are accompanied by high fevers, appear to be most frequently associated with febrile seizures. Other febrile illnesses associated with influenza, adenovirus, parainfluenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and rotavirus to calculate the RR of FS following these viral infections.

So my question is, in what universe will an antibiotic work against a virus? A. It won't! This modern health care is a joke.

So here is what I did. Grandma came by the house on Friday and picked u a bottle of my colloidal silver, a tin of garlic salve and I told her to pick-up a bag of lemons at the grocery store on her way to her daughter's house.

Here is what I told her to do.

1. Give child ½ teaspoon colloidal silver in 2 oz water 4x/daily.

2. Rub garlic salve on the base of the neck, down the spine, across shoulders before bed.

3. Make a pitcher of fresh lemon-aid. This is all she is to drink til the pitcher is empty.

Grandma started treating her at 3 pm Friday. I called her on Sunday evening and the child has shown no sign of fever since Friday nite when treatment began after drinking 3 glasses of lemon-aid. Also, no seizures either.

I told her to continue treatment for 1 week to ensure the viral infection is destroyed.

Note: no Bactrium of Tylenol was given.

Lemon water is also used to bring up the PH level, which prevents disease to begin with.

Mix with a little honey, this also helps to raise the NO level in your cells.

If you live in a hot climate, a salt tablet daily or as needed will prevent dehydration.

The US Military requires a daily salt tablet to all personnel to prevent dehydration.

Out west in the U.S.A. the people who die first are those with the lowest amount of salt in their body, autopsies prove this from an MD & Researcher.

For fevers take a lemon bath.

Cut up 2 lemons (quartered) and squeeze the juice into a tub of very hot water and drop lemons into the tub.(No doors or windows open.) Stay in the bath for about 10 min (just till the water starts to cool) all the while rubbing the lemons all over your body, I.e. neck, arms, chest, legs. Dry off quickly and put on layers of clothing. Then go to bed - you must stay in bed for at least 3 hrs. The best time to do this is at night. If done correctly, you will wake up in the morning a new person. The lemons remove the toxins.

I did this when I had diverticulitis and was running a very high fever. While it did not clean out the pockets my doctor did say it kept me out of the hospital!!!!
