Juicing for Rheumatoid Arthritis: I tried every nasty medication for my severe RA and I unfortunately had the side effects that came with all the traditional RA meds. I woke up in severe pain for years, and recently I have been improving alot. I watched "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" it's about a guy that has an autoimmune disease.

I juice fasted for a week and then stayed away from a few foods like dairy and grains that give me pain and now some of my joints are not swollen. I am weaning off my meds and I am optimistic. My pain in the morning has dimished. I think juicing just fruits and vegetables heal our bodies.

I have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis almost 25 years ago and was suffering on and off with painful inflammation in my hands. After taking all the usual prescribed medicines for about a year, I had enough and went on to cure myself. I did 4 weeks of juice fasting and afterwards ate only vegan and mostly raw foods (all organic). I also let the dentist remove all my amalgams. Over the years when my diet got poor and my stress levels high, I would get inflammation again. Whenever I went back to juice fasting (the ultimate detoxification, I would do this for all kinds of diseases) and eating RAVE diet (google it) foods, I get symptom free. Stress in life is often unavoidable, but we have power over the foods we eat. Juice fasting and' RAVE diet are my cure for Rheumatoid arthritis. If I find myself eating too sweet (sugar is poison, I use Stevia and Agave syrup only), I counteract with greens. (alalize again). Industrial food (all prepared food) is poison. I don't eat it.

Hi Deirdre,

Thank you so much for your appreciation. When I was fasting for 4 weeks and drinking only herbal teas and fruit juices, I did very simple juices at the time. Carrot -apple was my favorite. What I wanted to tell you was: it is not soo terribly important which exact recipe cured me. Important was the fasting of 4 weeks with juices. What I wanted to say is, to stop eating industrialized food, food from cans, dead food, chemical food, beverages, comfort food and so on, - THAT is important. There are books out there for juice fasting with recipes. To overcome RA you have to do serious detoxification programs on all levels.

1) strong determination and motivation for self-cure including learning about healing and detoxification and your specific illness (I read a ton of books)

2) juice fasting and detoxification on all levels (in US cities I would care very much to filter drinking water, in my area it's not a problem)

3) RAVE diet (google it)

4) Exercise

5) Relaxation and understanding of your situation from a higher perspective

6) Connection to the spiritual

7) Necessary changes in life (work, relationships, etc) (illness comes from a major stress in life) I always got a serious outbreak of RA when something was very wrong in my life. This has to be determined and worked at. I had to change jobs and work on my relationships and I had to leave a marriage. My illness was actually guiding me. Through my illness I was often forced to do something what I couldn't and wouldn't have done otherwise. that is the spiritual part of the "deeper connections".

All these things combined are the "healing factor". Not one recipe with a few different ingredients.

I did fasting for 4 weeks and afterwards RAVE diet (only natural and lots of raw and organic food). Plus exercise, saunas, taking out amalgam of teeth etc. It is not this ONE single recipe what will cure you but running, fasting, and changing your lifestyle on different levels plus the aforementioned determination and motivation and sense of purpose. All vegetables and fruits grown organically are healing foods. Juices are concentrated healing foods especially all dark greens. Sorry, I am not into this "one recipe thing". This doesn't heal a serious illness like RA.

So, I hope I am not disappointing you, but this is what still helps me when I have health troubles. this is just a broad guideline for people who are capable to read and learn for themselves. I had to believe in myself as I took the responsibility to get out of my medications against the advice of all these specialists and doctors and even against my naturopaths advice.

This is another important step: to start to believe in yourself more than anybody out there (however high up they seem to be). So, it's a real journey to yourself and your own powers.

Mahalo for your interest,

Few realize the actual cause of RA. That cause originates in the bowels and has everything to do with digestion, leaky gut and toxic colon. Juice fasts certainly help the problem but in order to speed that process, I also recommend sodium bentonite powder, five tablespoons each day for about a year to heal the bowel and body. That can be done with the juicing. What you are doing with the juicing will work it will just take more time to cure. Those that continue to take the doctor prescribed medication have no idea that the medication is actually contributing to the problem making things worse and that is why people have to change drugs after a time. Another very important part to the healing process is probiotics. Happy healing.

I was diagnosed with RA and had horrible pain, swelling and bad lab work. I noticed a connection between the foods I ate and the pain that day or the next day. Dairy made my knees swell and my starchy foods made my si joints hurt really bad. Sweets and excess sugar made my whole body hurt. After eating and juicing whole fresh fruits and vegetables for 80% of my daily diet, my labs started dropping and my swollen knees started to get better SLOWLY. It took a year for my arm to regain range of motion and my knees slowly got better too, they had been swollen for over three years, every day I had terrible knee pain. I could barely walk around the block they were so swollen. My labs such as sedimentation rate was at 60 and it is in normal range now. My RA factor has come down a lot too. Lastly my CRP has come down 500 points, but it came down 50 points every 6 months, it takes awhile if you have a severe case of RA.

Juicing fruits and veggies and eating them raw is key, and avoiding, wheat, corn , potatoes, and dairy was important for me. Also I eat meat once or twice a week because too much makes me feel unwell. Hope this helps someone, and remember don't lose hope.

I started juicing fruits and veggies with a juicer for my severe RA and juiced for one week and made sure to stay away from grains/starches and animal products after that week. My knees that were once swollen are not swollen anymore.

L-Lysine

Posted by Chevieman (Maine) on 08/13/2015

Lysine puts RA into remission. All auto-immune disease is attached to a herpes virus. Make the herpes virus go dormant with the Lysine and the RA goes into remission. Arginine aggravates RA.

You need to take at least 8 grams a day in the morning on an empty stomach if you want results. It should put it into remission within 2 months or less.

Lemon Peel and Olive Oil

Editor's Choice

Lemon Peel/Olive oil (This has worked for me every time I use it. I currently use this formula for hip pain (RA), knees and toes. It works great)

This recipe can be found on the internet in various forms but the ratio's are wrong and it take 2 weeks to complete. Well, I don't have 2 weeks to wait so here is the method I use to speed the process up.

Lemon peel and Olive oil ointment can be used topically to massage into painful joints anywhere on the body, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), gout, frozen shoulder, varicose veins/poor circulation of the arms and legs, skin fungal, viral and bacterial issues, ringworm (fungal), shingles (viral), skin burns, cellulite, chickpox sores (viral), chiliblains, cold sores, mouth ulcers and fever blisters (viral) of the mouth, diabetic neuropathy, eczema/psoriasis, foot and hand care, rubbed on forehead for headache/migraine/fever, inflammation, insect bites, nail health, phlebitis/thrombosis for the legs (together with internal use), respiratory problems, and many others.

The phenols in the olive oil will coat and fight inflammation, while the other ingredients go to work on pain and inflammation and the root cause of the problem.

To use lemon peels to fight the pain of inflammation. Inflammation in the body is the cause of much pain and illness. Inflammation means that the body's blood vessels are dilated and swollen. This swelling leads to redness, pressure, stiffness and pain. Although pain can be felt anywhere in the body, most commonly the pain of inflammation is felt in the joints. Joint pain can occur in any part of the body that has bone to tissue connection. That means that any one of the 360 joints in your body could be experiencing the pain of inflammation. Lemon peel can be taken internally and eaten, however, the benefits from the pain-relieving properties of the peel are believed to be best absorbed externally through the skin. Some compounds found in lemon peel cannot be passed to the bloodstream through digestion.

Nutritional Value Of Lemon Peel

Lemon peel contains 5 to 10 times more nutrients and minerals than does the juice. It contains Calcium. Iron. Magnesium. Phosphorus. Potassium. Sodium. Zinc. Copper. Selenium. vitamin C. Thiamin. Riboflavin. Niacin, Pantothenic acid. vitamin B6. Folate. vitamin A and vitamin E.

Lemon peel and Olive oil for joint pain relief

When you apply this remedy made with olive oil and lemon peel topically to the affected area, it will help improve your circulation in order to provide joint pain relief. One of the most overlooked benefits of lemons is that they can help prevent joint pain.

*The ingredients are chock-full of nutrients that reduce inflammation, pain, and stiffness.

*Also, the lemon peel contains substances like limonene, citronella and phellandrene, 3 essential oils that help relax muscles and joints, helping with any difficulty moving. https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/medicine-and-dentistry/lemon-oil

*The extra virgin olive oil contains antioxidants oleocanthal acid and omega 3 fatty acids, well-known for their ability to help painful, inflamed tissues.

*Together, these ingredients improve cellular oxygenation processes while optimizing the transportation of nutrients to your joints, a determining factor in preventing the breakdown of cartilage.

*However, it's also worth mentioning that the remedy helps stimulate your lymphatic system, a key factor in removing toxins that play a role in the pain.

*Additionally, applying it using massaging motions helps flush out retained fluids, and as if that weren't enough, prevents the accumulation of uric acid.

Rob's Quick and Dirty Recipe

Ingredients:

*Extra virgin olive oil

*6 - 7 lemons

*Eucalyptus oil (try your mixture with or without eucalyptus to see which works better for you)

*One quart mason jar with lid

*Blender

*Clean gauze

*Plastic-wrap

Preparation:

*Using a potato peeler, peel all the yellow/white (the pith) parts off the lemons. Then, place the lemon peels in a blender and add enough olive oil to cover them completely. 1:4 lemon peels to olive oil ratio is what I use. Blend the lemon peels/olive oil together. I use the pulse setting on my blender. You will want to blender it to the texture of apple sauce.

*Next, pour the mixture into the mason jar. Top off the mason jar with olive oil to about 2 inches from the rim.

*Place the mason jar into a pot filled with water on the stove. Add a mason jar ring or rolled up pieces for aluminum foil underneath the mason jar so it dose not make contact with the metal pot. Slow simmer the jar in a warm/hot bath for about 6 hours. Stir mixture with a butter knife every hour. Keep a check on the water level and add more water as needed. After 6 hours, turn off stove and allow to cool to room temperature.

*Stir mason jar and pour out one tablespoon into a small bowl then add the eucalyptus oil (10 drops per tablespoon of oil added to the finished ointment).

*Soak some gauze and place it over the painful area. Ideally you should apply this treatment at night, so that the ointment can soak into the skin while you sleep. Use it just like a Castor oil Pack.

Warning: Lemon contain natural molecules that react with UV light and cause a sensitivity reaction and a special type of sunburn. Essential oil companies often label their products that contain these compounds with a warning to avoid direct sun/UV light to the area for 12–48 hours after applying.

How to apply

*First, submerge a gauze bandage into the mixture and then apply it to the affected joint.

*Next, cover the gauze with plastic wrap, and then, if possible, with a wool scarf.

*Then, let the oil work overnight for best results.

*Next, apply every night until you get relief from the pain.

*As a preventative remedy, apply at least 3 times a week.

If you would like an even more relaxing effect for joint pain relief, heat the oil by putting the jar in a bowl of hot water before applying it. But remember to check the temperature to make sure it won't burn your skin. Additionally, you can use it to massage your joints, especially if the pain is due to fatigue or fluid retention.

Hi Paulette,

I make a 1 quart mason jar at a time. It will last long enough to do a 3 weeks treatment if using it similar as you would a castor oil pack. I don't refrigerate. I've used it up to 3 months just setting in the jar on my counter with no problem. Just smell it before hand to make sure it has not gone rancid.

In my opinion, in our Qld. climate, refrigeration would be recommended. The olive oil will thicken in the fridge but liquify when portion taken out on the kitchen counter.

@Kk,

Olive oil is about 14% saturated fat, whereas 11% is polyunsaturated, such as omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids. But the predominant fatty acid in olive oil is a monounsaturated fat called oleic acid, making up 73% of the total oil content. Studies suggest that oleic acid reduces inflammation, contains large amounts of anti-oxidants, and is filled with bioavailable phenolic compounds that have multiple, varied positive health effects like decreasing oxidative damage to DNA and lowering inflammatory markers and reduce oxidative stress in individuals with rheumatoid arthritis (44, 45). In one study, olive and fish oil significantly improved handgrip strength, joint pain and morning stiffness in people with rheumatoid arthritis (46).

Coconut oil, on the other hand, is made up primarily of saturated fat in the form of molecules called medium-chain-triglycerides (MCTs). It does contain polyphenols, but when compared side-by-side, olive oil topically is the better choice at reducing inflammation. Coconut oil health benefits are mainly for internal use. I put a spoonful of coconut oil in my coffee in the morning to help “lube the joints”.

The original recipe called for olive oil so I'm sticking with it. I hope this helps.

Low Dose Naltrexone

Hello, At the age of 9 I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Sins then I have tried a lot of different alternative treatments. Think about Alkaline diets, fruit diet, Juice, Raw, Ortho, Fytho, Cleanings, earthclinic treatments, aryuveda. And al of them gave me signs of relieve but none of them helped me to overcome and stop taking chemical medicines. Plus that the only chemical medicine that helped me to have no RA symptoms where enbrel (TNF-alfa blockers). Notice I still have a alkaline diet mixed with aryuvedic influences natural medicines to help me a lot!!! But the reason I am writing this is because I found a wonderful medicine called LDN also known as low dose naltrexone. This is the first medicine that gave me clear signs of healing. Sins I started taking this I am off the enbrel (TNF-alfablockers). Before that I needed to take these medicines because if I didn't take them I would end up in bed not been able to walk. And this happened me many times because of my will not to take them while trying natural solutions.

You can find a lot of information on the net just look up under the name LDN or low dose naltrexone.
Here is one link http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org/

I have to add that its not easy to find doctors that will describe you these medicines but if you look good enough you will find them all over the globe. Most of them are natural therapists that have the knowledge to help you. But in case of general hospitals and such they wont even give you a change to speak because they believe in nonsense. It took me some internet research before I ended up on a dutch LDN forum where I talked with some people who are taking this medicine for awhile. Most of them are MS patients and they are out of their wheel chairs thanks to this medicine. Now I am the lucky one to pass on this experience.

Please do your research- its a really wonderful medicine.

Greetings from the Netherlands.

I agree that LDN is great for Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Last year I started LDN because I thought I had MS (actually was diagnosed with MS by several different neurologists-but it turned out to be aspartame poisoning) anyway I had been taking 1.5 mg LDN daily and after 4 months the pain and soreness that had been present in my hand joints for several years was gone. After 1 year it is still gone, however I have OA in my hips and the LDN has not done much. It is my understanding that everyone reacts a little differently to LDN and up to 65% of the people who take it get rid of RA symptoms within 6 months. I have a Dr. here in Costa Rica who was educated and did his residency in Houston, as such he writes prescriptions for people and will send them via email on his letterhead to the pharmacy. Skip's pharmacy accepts it. Email me and I will provide his contact info, he charges $40.

Hi Chip,

I have been making my own Ldn for about 4 years since my doctor told me it should be helpful for autoimmune problems but also said her computer would reject any prescription she would write. I would love to be able to order from Skip's. I know many people who have great results making their own, but I have no noticeable benefit. It is possible that I don't have the receptor sites, but I do know Skip uses only pure naltrexone and adds a filler, usually Avicel, to the capsule. Would you please send me the contact information for your doctor? I would like to see firsthand if there is a difference for me. Thank you. I'm not sure how I can email you, but I am logged on right now and I give my permission for you to have my email.

EC: Hi Chip, can you please include your email address inside your post? Otherwise it's not visible. Thanks!

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

I started taking 1g of MSM by Health for Designs for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. I tried to go up to 2g, but the palpitations were too much for me so I stayed at 1. About a month after taking this dosag,e I started getting the palpitations again plus problems breathing. I stopped taking it and the palpitations and breathing issues went away, but now my RA pain is back. If anyone could recommend anything I could take with it or another dosage to help with the side effects I would greatly appreciate it. I had seen mention of taking MSM with the vitamin c. Does this help?

This is the first supplement that has helped my RA and I really do not want to go on the nasty drugs, so any help would be wonderful.

Hi Joi, MSM and vitamin C do work synergistically together, but I have no idea if it would help with the heart palpitations. I used to take MSM for my full body arthritis but what really did the trick for me was going 100% gluten free. Within the first week I could feel the difference and in a matter of months I felt so much better I could walk and take stairs without pain. It's hard to go 100% gluten free, but it's worth a try. It's so worth it for me. Good luck.

Did you ever go for a massager? There is one on eBay and Amazon websites. It's a shoulder massager with straps at both sides. When using it, go deep and then don't do it for few days to recover. Then redo it and don't be afraid to lie back to a wall etc but get to the muscle and keep it on it. You will get great relief after a few days. Go on the internet and see diagrams of where the muscle is and go along it with the massager.

I've been on MSM for 33 days now. I started off on low doses and now I'm taking a half a teaspoon two times a day. I guess that is 4 grams. I'm drinking 2 litres a day and that is about all I can take. I'm not a big person. I'm getting mild headaches, flushed flu like sweating, mild and painful bloating, not severe. I understand about toxic reactions as far as herxhimer reaction goes. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and a yet undiagnosed numbness in three fingers in my right hand. In the past, I have suffered from migraine and insomnia, and stomach problems, so I know the level of pain in these symptoms. My thoughts are, how toxic is your body when you have a chronic disease? I assume having RA I have levels of toxicity all the time. I am not experiencing any RA symptoms at the moment because it usually occurs in rainy weather. It is summer here, and I wanted to begin the MSM now in preparation for the colder weather when I experience the worst pain. I really need to find an anti-inflammatory as I don't have one. Either they are ineffective or have been taken off the market (Vioxx and Prexige). I am on methotrexate 7.5mg and do not want to take any more 'drugs'. Considering the toxic effects of RA, can anyone tell me how long I have to put up with the MSM side effects. It's been over 4 weeks now? Also is glucosamine and or chondriatin effective for RA?

Hi, MSM must be in powder form and PURE. It can be contaminated so make sue it has nothing in it. Google the product or as your health food store to check. I used a product that was pure MSM or it can be toxic and make you feel sick.

Boswella a resin from india can be taken for one month and then stop for a week, and continue, it is a natural cox 2 inhibitor and no effect on cox 1. Wild yam capsules are anti inflammatory and I liked Pomagranite Extract capsules.

I understand the frantic search for supplements to control RA. But it really is gotten under control through diet. THere is depression and fatigue related to RA so just break the symptom down and treat each. If you want to do the supplement route.

I did it your way but had a huge ah ha moment when I realized I needed super health and super foods to get over it. All the supplements worked but only for short periods. Super health worked much better for me. But I know how important it is to feel in control so if you are doing well then keep at it!

I did not Suppress the immune system, but began to build up the immune system.
I like an herb called Astraligus in liquid extract form 1 dropperful 1-2 times a day.
Green tea extract in liquid form 1-2 times a day
I like Pomagranite extract capsules
Arthrid powder
Green barley juice powder
Spirolina Powder or capsules

Lots of dark green vegetables in salads soups and juices, fish and occasional chicken, fruits in abundance but avoid tropical fruits for a while. Eat this way for life or get back to foods you like and see if you have flares. If you do then controlling your diet will be of great help.
NO wheat, grains. milk , dairy, nuts, or candy until you see that you can control flares. Use an anti inflammatory drug rarely to just lower pain and inflammatory response to weather, stress. chemicals, or food and get back on diet.

I used new age music that heals and listened to it as often as possible for weeks. I believe that this helped too.

Look into Gary Craig emotional healing and teach yourself how to do it. Free download of his ebook on internet. I used it Chronic Fatigue where I couldn't move for most of the day. My RA came on suddenly 2 1/2 years ago and it hit me with pain in all my joints, depression, swelling, muscle pain.
I used Magnesium for the muscle pain.

I am now in good health and look and feel great. I can control the flares and lost 30 pounds. I still have symptoms but am 80% improved.

Arshia: Functioning cells thrive in a state called respiration. Cooked regular food does not provide enough nutrition to maintain this. A state called fermentation occurs. Components of the cells become damaged and begin making bad substances like leptins. These are bad hormones of both the metabolic and immune systems. These are causing the immune system to attack the joints. Andrew Kim explains this technically in his three blogs, when cells go bad, insulin revisited, and diabetes. The best way to reverse fermentation and aquire respiration is to follow the 80/10/10 program. Google raw food videos for instructions.

Hello again Arshia,

You ask about how to take DMSO. If my hands are aching and feeling stiff, then I take about one tablespoon of DMSO and rub into hands making sure nuckles and joints in wrist are covered. The DMSO is watery so you want to do this over the sink. In a minute the solvent will absorb into the skin. I have a great acecdotal story besides myself; it was my father, about 20 years ago, and he was complaining of the cramping in the hands I described above. Got him on the DMSO immediately and the next day, no problem. So in his case, the result was nearly immediate. I've found I have to use the DMSO every six months or so to ward off the condition.

If I use the DMSO on knees or ankles, I water down the DMSO by about half purified water because the DMSO can sting a bit without dilution. DMSO is a solvent and a penetrant and your breath will be garlic like for a day afterward.

I once had a nutritionally oriented MD who would give me IVs for nutrition and he would cap off the IV bag with 25 cc of DMSO, so as to rush the nutrients past the blood brain barrier. Thus the nutrients got to all organs including brain.

The point is in answering your questions: DMSO can be used topically or internally. I'm not suggesting you take a large dose orally. I have taken a tablespoon in a large glass of purified water.

Normally I used it topically.

I use 99.9 percent pure food grade and you can get the best from googling "Dr. Jacobs DMSO" and don't forget to google the you tube on DMSO I mentioned in the prior post: "Youtube Dr Jacobs 60 minutes"

Did I answer all your questions?

Best ....dave

In response to so desperate. I was diagnosed with RA at 33. My experience with it is extensive. Besides all the suggestions here alkaline diet will make you feel much better. I first went the drug route. 19 years of steroids, 1 or 2 AT a TIME of Immunosuppressants, and anti inflammatory drugs. Had a hip replacement 1997 then 1st knee replacement in 2000.Almost died from a severe staph infection, septic in my blood. In a matter of hours I was deathly sick.

After this I decided NEVER to take immunosuppresant drugs again.

I started doing Remicade which is an IV infusion that I get every 2 months. It is actually a good western drug and works on the root cause of the arthritis.

I have been able to get off the steroids, and even the anti inflammatory drugs.

I became pre diabetic due to long term steroid use.

I have tried MANY natural and alternate therapies. Astaxanthin ( the product I use is Bio Astin), has helped my joints tremendously. I have introduced many others to

I also take wild fish oil, krill oil, spirulina, probiotics a good multi vitamin and a few other things daily.

My main foods I eat are salmon, spinach and blueberries.

Exercising in water is the best! There is a fine line between doing nothing and too much with RA. I also do a 1.2 mile trail walk with my German Shepherds daily.

Upon waking if your joints are sore best thing is hot water to increase blood supply and make your joints more mobile.

I rarely have pain in my joints.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

I was diagnosed with RA at age 27. I'm now 50 and for many years I took methotrexate and lived in denial. I've had surgery on my feet several times. I began trying to find a solution through diet 3 yr ago. I gave up meat followed by dairy.( I had read these were triggers) however my RA was creeping back so I did a workshop with a health researcher who 30 yrs previous had cured his own RA and told me it was either a deficiency, diet or a possible food allergy and recommended Patrick Holford's Say No To Arthritis. (I was now taking a variety of nutrients recommended: vit C, vit D3 10,000, MSM, Fulvic Minerals, and still it was progressing.

After reading his book, I was certain a food allergy was my problem. I paid £250 for a york allergy test (food) however the results weren't conclusive I was allergic to meat, fish oils, sea food. Mostly stuff I didn't eat. Milk weren't there so I started having milk again on my porridge. Then I discovered "The Borax Conspiracy" article. Again, I was convinced I had found the solution. I ordered the boron supplements and started on 9mg Triple Boron Complex (x3 3mg) as recommended reading all the testimonals and believed again I had found the solution. 5 days into boron and I had the worst herx, I struggled downstairs with every part of my body hurting like never before. I believed this was a good sign and continued meantime I included different nutrients so I'm now taking Vit C, D3, boron 9mg, sellenium, potassium, flaxseed, magnesium, vit B1,2,3,6,12, and folate. The herx didn't subside, it just sent my RA into overdrive and now I'm swelling and hurting in other places that weren't affected and has made it worse than ever.

Starting to feel deflated and defeated, I read about LDN, surely this is the answer my thinking was: I have had this condition so long my body doesn't know the war's over and 8 wks ago I started on LDN tbh. I didn't think it was doing anything and my RA is so bad my consultant wants me on medication (another trial) bc I have 20+ inflamed joints, and I'm really struggling.

Last week, I forgot to take my meds 1 night (LDN) and next day I was in pain so I do believe it's having an effect, however it's not putting me in remission. I am now so disheartened and don't know were to turn or what to do next I can't bear this pain. I'm waking through the night for pain killers it's just not stopping. I am so deflated and sick of pain.

I'm useless and can't do simple things, I can't plan ahead, my life is so limited I chose to stay in bc everything is a struggle.

I'm now trying ACV but it's soul destroying when nothing works. Any advice is welcomed. I'm struggling with depression now. Sorry this is a long thing.

Calming down the inflammation is key (as you know) so, here are my suggestions. My neighbor, who took methotrexate for a couple years, has RA but it is improving tremendously with the following regimen:

1. Turmeric capsules 2X a day

2. Black seed oil (nigella sativa) 1 tsp 2x a day

3. Spraying magnesium oil on joints nightly and in morning

4. 1 Tablespoon of unrefined, organic, virgin coconut oil 2X a day (put it in food)

5. No sweets, no grains

6. Lugols iodine (I don't know the amount)

7. 4 mg astaxanthin, 2x a day

8. 8 glasses of filtered water a day

It has taken her about 3 months to get about 80% improvement with this regimen. She was taking boatloads of meds but was tired all the time. The meds were taking it's toll.

I hope this information gives you hope, Patsy....

Perhaps the following would help but please google and read first before committing:

D3/K deficiency isn't this a major problem in the UK? Did you take K with the d3? Jeff Bowles wrote a book on this and did his own study taking very high doses of D3 along with vitamin K. His book might be helpful to read or you could just read the reviews on Amazon.com.

Colostrum

Garlic would large doses of garlic perhaps in capsule form to rid the body of the bacteria that may cause RA?

Hydrogen Peroxide Food Grade

From Road Back Foundation Discussion Forum a reader suggests drinking small drops of HP in water or actually spraying food grade HP directly on the area of pain.

Magnesium

Iodine

Have you had a chance to read Overcoming Arthritis by Dr. Brownstein? Perhaps there might some nuggets of wisdom waiting for you to find that might be helpful.

WISHING YOU WELL!

Patsy,

I am so sorry you are suffering so terribly. Please know that LDN can take up to a year or more to achieve the full effect. Since it can be taken with anything EXCEPT opiate based drugs and it does seem to be working to a certain degree for you, perhaps you could continue taking it and use your pain meds at night if LDN is taken in the morning? (It can be taken at any time of day) Have you tried adjusting your dosage either up or down? Maybe add some Apres flex bosweilla? Some people take tramadol (sp?) for pain at a different time from the LDN with success.

Best wishes and I hope you find some relief soon.

Hi Patsy, I had full body arthritis. I went 100% gluten free, (checking all food labels and websites and celiac sites), for a different health problem. Going gluten free didn't do a thing for that problem, but it cleared up the full body arthritis. It was miraculous for me. It's hard to go gluten free, but it was so worth it for me.

Patsy, as a fellow RA sufferer I pray you find the blessed relief that has given me my life back. My RA had progressed to the point where most of life's physical needs hurt more than they were worth. I was near hopeless and imagining a life dependent on my wife and family at 60 yrs. old. After trying many things without success I tried Turmeric on the advice of an Indian grocer and the tide that had been rolling unchecked turned!! For me, 5 grams turmeric powder with 1 tbsp. walnut oil and 1/2 tsp. Rose hip seed powder in milk (I use cashew milk)...2x a day. I also eliminated most all wheat products. I buy the turmeric in 5lb. lots and it lasts quite a while...walnut oil is pricey but is high in Omega 3 and turmeric is best absorbed with fats and pepper. I still get stiff and sore when I rest but am able to handle the many physical demands of my farm. I hope this helps you find some relief.

Try castor oil packs. I don't know if they cure the RA, but they are very soothing.

Thank you all so much for responding to my post there are some great snippets of advice from you all I do appreciate it.

I will look into that book "Overcoming Arthritis" as for Tramadol, I can't take them they make me so dreadfully sick. I take the LDN at night before bed bc I read it's between 2am and 4am that our body produces endorphins. thanks tho :-)

I do have the magnesium spray and I have a foot soak with epsom salts which takes the pain away for a short while. I also take gluco/chond/msm magnesium, ptssum, gluten free I was dreading bc I know I will struggle and I weigh 7 and half stone my diet is very limited. Anyways will be taking up some of your advice for sure thank you all again.

Chevieman, thank you so much for that information it is invaluable and I will print this thread, what you say has restored some hope and as well as a few other things I'll go at the boron again bc that was the most disheartening I believed it would work and I did have a mega herx. It made me mad when it never did what it said on the label kinda thing.

I'll include vit K, some reishi mshrm, the probiotic deffo ordering these things right now so thankyou your posts have restored my faith and lifted the heavy cloud.

I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED WITH ANY PROGRESS

xxx

I love this site it's awesome and I tell everyone who'll listen to check it out :-)

Multiple Remedies
Posted by Chevieman (St. George, Maine) on 05/20/2012

diagnosed with severe Rhuematoid Arthritis a year ago. The following is what I did to treat it.

1. Ascorbic Acid- at least 1-2 Grams per day. Yes Grams. Vitamin C- Aka ascorbic acid was looked at by big pharma and was found to be almost miraculous in the treatment of a number of diseases. They attempted to get patent rights for it and were denied, no profit no more research. I have always felt that RA is an imbalance in my immune system, Ascorbic Acid helped restore that balance.
2. Boron- Here is the kicker you can only buy it in 3 mg capsules but You need at least 20 mg per day total taken in 3 doses, so stock up on the big bottle. Why does this work? Your immune system is in your gut/intestines. An imbalance in the fauna and flora sets up a dominoe effect to allow fungus such as candida albicans to take root in your intestinal walls causing leaky gut syndrome. This is how food allergies and reactions to specific stressor foods manifest themselves. Boron is one of the best "all natural" anti-fungals known to man. It makes you pee bright yellow but that is the only side effect other than killing unwanted fungus in your intestines.
3. Pro-biotics. Like I stated previously all of your immune system originates in your intestines, when you take care of the good bacteria in your gut, then your gut will start taking care of you. I recommend a pro-biotic that is of soil origin (will say on bottle)and more than one type. These types go after the bad guys in your intestines and stop the proliferation of the bad which gives your gut the time it needs to heal. If you don't take soil origin probiotics at least twice a day and You have RA then You are indeed a fool.
3. Reishi Mushroom extract- proven immune system modulator. Follow recommended dosage on the bottle. It helps your immune system rebalance itself.
4. If You have RA the foods you consume are no longer about what You like, thats what got you into this mess to begin with. When you have inflammation in your body from other than injury, its guaranteed you have inflammation in your intestines. Every time you think its "okay" to consume a stressor food (can be found on the net what they are) it is like adding fuel to the fire. Especially night shade family veggies, grains, and dairy. I know its hard to give these up. They used to be my favorites. But it is possible. Also Stay away from processed foods, chemical additives of any kind are not your friend including those that you wash with or that go on your skin. Stay away from commercially raised beef and stick to grass fed. Stay away from chicken and stick to turkey without additives (shady brook brand)Did you know they were putting arsenic into the chicken feed and hence it could be found in the meat? Find a recipe for bread made with brown rice flour, no potato starches or oils other than coconut. Stay away from soy bean oils (check your supplements) so many of them are GMO you cannot trust the source anymore and GMO food will send You into flare quicker than anything I know of.
5. I found a rheumatologist who put me on minocycline and that is what I prefer because it isn't as toxic as other drugs. I started out on 100mg 2x a day with the above regimen until I went into remission then I cut back to 100mg 1x per day until in remission for more than 2 weeks then cut back to 100mg 1x per day on Mon, Wed, and Friday. (see Dr. Mercolas web-site for the Mon, wed, Fri regimen)Rhuematologists are hard to find that use minocycline or that you can convince to prescribe it to you alone, I personally have to travel 120 miles for appointments but here I sit in remission, joints healing up, no swelling anywhere. I honestly don't know if this regimen will work for those on the more toxic drugs but I believe you have everything to gain. If You don't take any other supplements at all the Ascorbic Acid, Boron and Pro-biotics are the most beneficial. Others that I take are":Glucosamine chondroiton with MSM
magnesium 500 2x a day
potassium 1gram 1x a day
selenium 1x a day
zinc 1x a day.
N-acetyl cysteine-builds up your glutathione levels. Something found lacking in all with arthritis of any kind.
Boron can be increased up to 30mg perday if symptoms are stubborn.

It took me 2 months on this regimen to go into remission. It is a wonderful thing to be able to say that word "remission" without the fear of going into flare-up tommorow and I am not there yet. I will say the only other thing I would attempt to do is relieve as much stress and anger in your life as possible and make sure you have a strong personal relationship with God and Your family. If you don't have faith you can beat this disease from running your life, then you won't.
I sit here symptom free and grateful that I am. If anything I have learned compassion for others who suffer from RA and other debilitating diseases and that is my only motivation for posting this. I pray that one day they will have a cure available and these type of diseases can be treated with something which works quickly and effectively but until the pharmacutical industry is more cure driven than profit driven I really dont see that happening. I hope for the best for you. I think you are going to see the ascorbic acid/boron and probiotics being used more in the treatment of this disease as more is learned about it.

Started UC-II (Source Naturals) 70 days ago and feel it is helping.

I take 1,500mg VC and might consider more.

Magnesium Malate helps muscles and I get much better sleep.

I also take 1 x 3mg Boron, some BVitamins and VD3 1,000iu daily much better than used to be although still suffer with the rheumatoid.

Also take 1,500mg cap. of Oregano Oil for 1 month then off for 1 month. You also have to take a probiotic when on Oregano Oil. Careful as it can thin the blood - if you are on other blood thinners (e. G. anti-inflammatories) or fish oil iodine also thins the blood.

When my wrist, or knee or ankle swells I break open a cap. of Oregano Oil rub it on and stops the pain.
