I had a mucus issue where I always felt a little congested. I'm a vegetarian and my ND had me cut out sugar, wheat, and dairy all of it. I also started a neti pot flushing my sinus with saline and three drops of iodine. Within a week my sinuses were totally clear no more congestion or mucus issue.

Is Mucoid Plaque real? Has anyone really seen it when they cleanse believing they had mucoid plaque?

Hi. I've never seen it in the way they describe it. I suspect these big sausage things they show on internet sites are moulds of the bentonite clay etc hardening in the guts.

However what I have seen - and this was while fasting (no use of bentonite or any thing else - nil by mouth apart from water)... I was doing an enema with salted water and apple cider vinegar... I think it was day 4 of a fast and I was feeling lousy, weak nauseous, toxic, aching back.

And these snakeskin like things exploded out of me. Weird looking. I investigated and they were mucus tubes, not skin - about 5cm long, each of them. So I'm assuming they were thick layers of hardened mucus that lined my intestines.

I am extremely toxic, sorry to say. I am assuming that candida or other pathogens had been hiding inside / behind this layer. I had to rest for a couple of hours after this expulsion... felt very tired.

So... my answer is yes and no to mucoid plaque. Definitely biofilms build up if you've been sick a long time then nasties have got a hold of parts of your body - the intestines being a nice hidie hole for them. And these are the sources for focal infections - repeated infections that get you when you are down. To recover fully, your body has to root out these axes of evil and destroy them. So you will feel sick probably each time while the immune system is trying to nuke them.

But I don't think the lurid pictures you see on the net are necessarily mucoid plaque.... I think that's the sensationalist tabloid version of the story.

I give Ginger root grated, the real deal, a 5 star because it has almost cured my mucous in throat which I believe is from Silent Reflux. I grate 1/5 tsps of ginger I keep in the freezer and add boiling water, and blackstrap molasses (my choice of sweetner). Both ginger and Blackstrap Molasses have so many benefits for me.

I slice off a piece about 1/8 inch thick and remove the outer peel. Place on back teeth and chew. I usually leave it im my teeth after chewing it for about five minutes. You can either swallow or spit it out. This also helps with a toothache and upset stomach and nausea.

To Amber from Sandusky OH: I only had it in my throat. Sinuses acting up. It makes me nauseus and ginger always helps with that, too!

I have a big problem with excess mucous and after checking this site would like to try ginger. All of the suggestions say to use ginger root but I'm wondering if it is okay to use the ginger powder instead as I have limited access to fresh ginger.

Histamine Levels

Have had this problen of excesive throat mucus, sore throat, frothing etc, for over two years. I was put on acid blockers, which made the problem worse. In my opinion the problem is caused by fermentation possibly caused by abnormal gut flora. I am now taking probiotics and betaine hcl with food. I am also drinking dandelion tea for its anti inflammatory properties.

In my experience high levels of histamine are possibly involved, which can cause irritation and inflammation. Abnormal gut flora can cause excessive histamine. If you goggle histamine you can see the disruption it can cause. Some foods block the enzyme that breaks it down and others can cause you to produce more. It is a very interesting subject. I am having some success at last. The foggy feeling is gone, as is the blurred vision. The mucus is clearing and my throat is no longer sore. It is early days. I hope this posting can help others, as the medical people are not interested. Good luck to your all and good health.

You loved WELL. I'm sorry about your loss of love and friendship and the sorrow you went through as the illness progressed.

May your days bring a songbird and a ray of golden warmth from heaven with drips of holy rain upon your brow and only the fondest of every memory you have stored.... Let them come.... Let them come... Yes today and tomorrow and the next. Bless Her Lord with the fragrance of Your Love and the atmosphere of heaven let it come... Let it come.... bless her today and tomorrow and the next.

An arrow from the quiver of the Lord , may it pierce your Sorrow with His JOY.

Stress produces fight or flight hormones to prepare the body for action... Stops digestion and slows urination.... Steals water, minerals , hormones and nutrients.

So first make an effort to drink two cups of water in the morning when you awake. Wait half hour and eat something with some vitamins minerals and omegas and sea salt to rehydrate and get those mucus secretions thinned back out. Try to keep hydrating> as you can and getting healthy food in your body.

Set out in the sun and get some vitamin D in your body. Open the window and get some fresh air. Buy a candle and some epson salt and spray your favorite perfume in the air in the bathroom , light the candle , put salts in the tub , put on music that fills your cup and , drink some extra water, eat an apple or fruit or berries in the tub.... Keep tissue near by and let yourself CRY. You are an amazing woman ... who loved her husband... Pat yourself on the back for being there for him and now TAKE CARE OF YOU. Take walks to get circulation going if you can. BREATHE

Christine, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Many thoughts and prayers are with you, and may our heartfelt sympathy surround and uplift you. You are not alone.

In regard to the mucous problem, I have recently come across some information about how the correct bacteria in the mouth can keep the mouth, throat, sinuses and ears healthy by taking up the space formerly occupied by bad bacteria. Some probiotic supplements containing the common L.Salivarius, also contain BLIS K12 and BLIS M18 that supposedly act like a natural antibiotic by replacing the bad bacteria. Supposedly also helps with bad breath. Makes sense, since many with these problems have excellent oral health routines and yet these problems persist. They come in lozenges and gum. It's a possibility for your problem. Best wishes and take good care.

Hi Christine, Sorry for your loss. My sympathy and condolences to you. When we lose someone, it feels like our life has become empty but that is not true. God loves us that's why he gave us life and he wants us to be happy. Do the things that make you happy --- hobbies, etc. Personally, I have a Teacher/Master who has shown me a way/technique to be in tune with that Peace within. So, even in times of turmoil I can tune within and be in Peace, then the things outside and around us becomes easier to handle. You can check it out at: wopg.org ---- that means Word of Peace Global. It's free whatever he shows us (sorry I cannot explain it here). I hope you will check that site out. Take care of yourself and don't feel you are alone.

Hi Christine, I have read the posts about your loss and want to express my condolences. Magnesium and the B-Complex vitamins are very important. St. John's Wort will also help but I have to open the capsules and take the contents with water.

I feel that when you keep listening to your husband's voice, now, it's going to prolong your healing. You have enough to remind you if you are still in the house you shared. We lost everything we owned in a fire and I was only able to save my nine-month old. I know our two-and-a-half year old went to be the Lord and that is what gave me comfort in the midst of so must pain. I could not look at her pictures for a very long time and I could not talk about her without going to pieces. Even now, writing this to you, I'm a little choked up. You never get over the death of someone you love but time will give you strength so at a later time you can start to listen to the tape again, if that is what you choose to do. We have the news briefs about the fire in 1987 but the memories are fresh when I look at the tape. Some things are better left alone. Our loved ones are not here anymore and we have to get on with life with the hopes we will be reunited. Today happens to be my birthday and my mother died three days before my birthday several years ago. Just to let you know you are not alone in your pain.

I've never had a failure when using horseradish to clear my head. Funny how it won't touch lungs, coughing. Mix a 1/16th of a teaspoon (or less) with mayo or cottage cheese, and eat on crackers or bread. Needs some fat or protein as a cushion.

Never take h202 with tap water. All water must be filtered or distilled. You never know what chemicals are in the tap water that can interact with the h202.

For me:

I mix 4 drops of 35% food grade h202 as in DROPS (not droppers full) in 16 fl oz bottle of filtered water. OR 2 drops of 35% Food grade h202 in 8 fl.oz glass bottle. (pre-mixed) If I feel it is too strong, i just dilute it with more water.

I shake the bottle before i drink it. I also use the (pre-mixed h202 that I made) with my Hydro Grossan sinus/nasal rinse. I usually out 2 tablespoon of my pre-mixed h202 into the water container, and fill the rest with filtered water and salt. I stir the water content and close the lid. I start rinsing my nose with it twice per day.

When I first started out - my nose was totally blocked in one side, constant post nasal drip, could not eat anything without having allergies. I went to doctors and had all kinds of antibiotics and even anti fungal for my candida - nothing worked. I would have phlegm everytime i ate something until I went on strict diet. Even with strict diet, I would still have constant hacking out of plegm after my salads.

One day, I just went on clear broth diet boiling (Chicken bones with filtered water and vegetables(any -but no carrot due to sugar content) and drinking it for every meal. I eat nothing else. This is to help me keep my symptoms down while i do my h202 treatment and let it work. I drank my 2 of my pre-mixed 16 fl. oz of h202 throughout the day (I continue to drink water in between at least 6 cups). I rinsed my nose and throat with the premixed h202 with salt 3 times each nose every 3 hours for the 1st day. The second day, I rinse my nose only twice a day - 3 times each side.I figured that if there is something in my sinus so deep and stubborn, I have to be more aggressive or stubborn than the bug to get rid of it. I was right!

You should have seen the gunk that came out of me. At first it felt uncomfortable, alot of mucus came out through my nose and mouth continuously, i let it come out for 2-3 days whenever it feels like coming out. The 4th day, my post nasal drip lessen considerably and my cough stopped. Amazing! I kept on doing the nose and throat rinse daily (twice a day- once in the morning, once before i sleep) and drinking at least a bottle 8fl oz. of my own pre-mixed h202 daily and now I am back to normal!! I have so much energy to do the things i want to do.

Frankii - I had the same problems as you (I also read your previous post). What helped me with the mucus was drinking Kefir - but not the stuff you buy in the stores. You need to get the grains that you make at home. I am fortune to be able to use raw milk to make mine - however any milk will work - just make sure that its organic. Years ago, I went to a naturopathic doctor who diagnosed me with a BAD case of candida and parasites. I had ALL of the symptoms you did. People would step back from me when I talked - so I know my breath was BAD!!! I took Diflucan and Nystatin to initially knock out the candida. Then I tried a herbal formula for the parasites. I went thru some major detox sysmtoms but my horrible fecal breath went away for good. Using the homemade kefir has been wonderful for my entire digestive system!!! I cannot recommend it highly enough! I use it in smoothies in the AM or just plain (tastes like buttermilk). Good luck with this Frankii - I can relate to what you are going thru. Linde

Hi Paula,

Have you tried N Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) for the excess phlegm post Covid? It acts as an anti mucolytic. It can thin mucous secretions to help them flow out better. It also acts as a potent antioxidant and anti inflammatory and helps with many lung related complications while increasing Nrf2 activation.

NAC also increases production of some of the bodies own antioxidants such as glutathione.

NAC has also shown some benefit for long covid. Dosing ranges from 600 mg once or twice a day up to 600 mg three times per day under a doctor's supervision. In my experience, I could not tolerate more than 3 times per day.

Neti Pot

The neti pot is THE BEST invention for excess nasal mucus. I absolutely love mine! I have a horrid sore throat (very, very painful) and horrid cough which is heading into my ears and I imagine eventually my nose. I used my neti pot a few minutes ago and even though I didn't feel stuffy, just a slight bit of occassional runniness I rinsed out some real ugly goobers - ha. Grey/beige booggies the size of Dallas - YUCCK! My ears are presently stuffed up so I'm hoping the neti helps, if not then I will pour a bit of peroxide into them for 5 min and then drain. I've also been doing self lymphatic massage. You can find video's on YOUTUBE to learn how. I've been gargling with cayenne which didn't work for me and I used fresh hot stuff at 90 BTU's; 1/4 tsp in a few TBS of warm h20. Been drinking lemon water with honey and cayenne, or vinegar water with honey and cayenne. Made homemade chicken soup with lots of onions and garlic - I used Jin Shin Jyutsu on myself several times, but still got sick and have been so for three days now. I cough up putrid thick, dense grey/beige gunk in the morning for 20 minutes, and in the afternoon. I am losing my voice from the sore throat and coughing so hard. I haven't tried fresh garlic because I'm out, maybe I'll call a friend in a few minutes to see if she can drop some by. Oops I forgot my son dropped off some essential oils, not sure what they are. He said to wipe around my nose and mouth to breath easier- let's hope for good things QUICKLY!! Also I put a nice warm Castor oil pack on my chest last night and my spleen area this morning.

Any other suggestions folks??? I'm going to Castor pack my spleen area again. And I don't eat sugar or wheat either, no cheese. A little cream with coffee or tea. Hugs, K

At watercure.com you will love this information for overall improved health... A humidifier works miracles or a sauna steam room, drink water in the sauna. Potato chips and lots of water. Garlic tabs up to 6 a day with your chips and water. Vicks on q tip up the nose, spread it around and if needed above top lip to open airway. Get some sun if you can and read an uplifting book. Add extra pillow unders yours when sleeping. Steamy shower, cough stuff up and spit it out, blow nose and stay in as long as you can.

If throat is full of mucus put a couple grains of salt on tongue. Too much orange juice will throw electrolytes out of balance and make histamine worse.

Hi, we spent some time in Michigan mint country this spring and learned its medicinal uses. Got that virus the grandkids give for free so bought a good organic peppermint essential oil and used a qtip to dab on sinuses. Didn't irritate so used it liberally.

I put 2 drops in 3/4 c. water and slugged it down. Within 2 minutes could breathe well! Within 5 minutes can feel it doing something to lungs! Waiting for coughing to stop, quality of cough changing, seems more productive in a less unpleasant way--less dry/painful. Menthol in it. Draining sinuses now. Some people are allergic, be advised.....

Probiotics

I've been reading the many posts about chronic mucus in the throat. I've been there - done that for many years. I've seen 4 different doctors without any positive results and tried MANY - MANY Rx's. I've been tested for allergies, asthma and GERD and I'm not a smoker. I not knocking the medical community but they seem to have tunnel vision when it comes to this condition. With the help of some on-line postings and some research, I've come upon some promising results.

Antibiotics seem to be a common denominator. When a doctor prescribes an antibiotic it kills all the bacteria [good and bad] in your system - this is good when you are ill since it eliminates what was making you ill. However the elimination of the good bacteria has consequences. [Please note that I'm not a medical professional so my descriptions/explanations may not be stated well but this is what I've pieced together with some research] There is a relationship in the body between mucus and good bacteria. If the good bacteria are not adequate, the body produces mucus as protection.

With my condition, I separated it to a mucus problem and a post-nasal drip problem. First the mucus - Probiotics are designed to replace the good bacteria. They are not new and have been around for a long time and there is a lot of information available on them - doing your own research is recommended. In my case, I've been prescribed antibiotics many times over the years but never replaced the good bacteria. So I started with a low dose of Probiotic and worked up. [I currently take 3 capsules 2X daily] This has reduced the mucus in my throat a lot - maybe 80% or more. [I'm reluctant to say that I'm cured]

Next the post-nasal drip. This is still a work in progress. Over-the-counter decongestants aren't a solution for me - Sudafed-like compounds mess with my blood pressure but I still use Flonase. So thanks to another on-line posting, I'm trying lemon water with cayenne pepper in it - not a lot of pepper but enough to give it a little warmth. [Yes, I know this sounds like a witch's brew but it's really not so bad] So far, so good! It seems to be working.

I hope this information works. Good luck.
