Hi!

We were visiting friends when the husband had this severe itching in his hands. Apparently it happens every so often. A food diary has been kept because it seems to be in response to having eating something but no clear connections have been made. Anyway, I suggested Nettle Tea. So he drank a large mug full of Nettle tea (with a little peppermint for flavor.) In 20 minutes or so, his intense itching was improving. After a while he had no more symptoms.

What is amazing to me is that we have seen nettle work for such a variety of allergic reactions to a variety of things. Nettle is really amazing and a safe herb even for children.

For years I had itching forearms and ankles after eating any meal. I started taking two 650 mg capsules of nopal cactus after or with each meal.

The itching was gone within a week, and that was probably ten years ago.

I continue to take 1 nopal capsule mornings. Nopal has betalains, which are anti-inflammatory.

One woman had psoriasis on the left side of her face, making it look like raw hamburger. She drank a reddish drink made from the nopal fruit and her face cleared up to look normal. This was supported by before and after photos.

That is how I got the idea to take nopal leaf capsules for my probable psoriasis or itching skin. The capsules are available at most or numerous online supplement websites.

I didn't notice enough written about allergies. My mother had a bad rash around her ankles and we made an appointment with the allergy doctor. He walked into the room and said, "Take psyllium husk!" It worked like magic. The rash was gone in days. She was always prone to food allergies but this easy solution was a big surprise and took care of her constipation problems as well.

I use 1 Tbl a day of it now for large intestine spasms and it has helped. These comments have been helpful because I see other ways it has helped me as well. I don't know if I'm addicted to it but sure don't want to be without it! Those spasms are pretty disabling as long as they last. If I combined it with ANYthing else, I'd blame the other thing before the psyllium husk, let alone any kind of CLAY! There is nothing natural about putting that into our bodies! And I've learned the importance of enough water as well!

I have been allergic to shrimp for about 20 years. Not life threatening, but very painful cyst on tailbone about a week after eating it [ took a long time to figure that one out ]. I had a doctor slice and drain it 3 times. About a full cup of the smelliest bile ever. I heard that wine killed bacteria in the stomach so I started drinking a glass of red wine a day. After about a month I ate some shimp on purpose. No problem. Became a member of a church that didnt allow alcohol drinking so I switched to grape juice, same effect. In my case, red wine or grape juice worked. Maybe Apple Cider Vinegar will work the same, I don't know.

Ted's Remedy for seasonal/food allergies and asthma absolutely worked for my ten year-old son!

At five years old, he began to get seasonal allergies in the spring. Next came a few food allergies. Each year, the hayfever became progressively worse until, two years ago, it turned into full blown asthma. Worse still, he became alergic to wheat (but NOT the gluten... the wheat itself), all corn and corn by-products, mushrooms, shellfish (not the iodine, but the shellfish itself), all nuts and seeds and their respective oils, and on and on.

In desperation, I tried Ted's remedy for seasonal allergies, as I did NOT want my son to stay on all those steroids each spring. I noticed that Ted kept talking about excess copper and the need for zinc. So, I looked down the long list of my son's food allergies and compared it to a list of taboo foods for people with Wilson's Disease, a disorder that prevents affected people from processing copper at all. Lo and behold... My son's food allergies had one thing in common; they were all foods loaded with copper. So, I began Ted's remedy and, I swear, within three days my son woke up in the morning and didn't wheeze or need a single pill or inhaler ever again. Interesting to note, however, as soon as I thought it was "safe" to take him off the remedy, all his symptoms came back the next day. Thus, I continue to give him the suppliments and he is doing amazingly well. Oh, and his food allergies after 12 months....gone!!!!!

Here is the protocol that I continue to follow:

I mix into a glass of juice EVERY MORNING: 1,000 mg powdered Sodium Ascorbate, 3 drops liquid vitamin D3 (1,000mg), 2 drops liquid molybdenum (50 mcg). He can't taste a bit of it in the juice, so there are no complaints.

With breakfast, he takes 25mg zinc gluconate every day.

TWICE A WEEK he takes 100mcg selenium (L-selenomethionine) with the zinc in the morning. I give it on Saturdays and and Wednesdays, because its easy for me to remember.

After school, when his stomach is empty, I give him 10 mg manganese gluconate with a bottled water, because Ted says this should be taken alone.

Three times a week, at dinner, I give him a "raw" B-complex, as several of the B-vitamins are aparently needed to aid the other supplements. Plus, I mix an additional 1, 000 mg of powdered sodium ascorbate into whatever he is drinking at dinnertime.

My son's pediatrician, who is open to alternative treatments, was so shocked at the allergy blood results, not to mention the vanishing asthma, that he wrote all of this down to try on other young patients!

Do you still give this regime to your son? I am thinking of trying this to get rid of my seasonal, nut and other food allergies. I will be reporting my progress after 12 months.

Hi Carolyn! I hope you see my message. Did he end up overcoming his allergies? I am desperate with my son's food allergies, it's affecting him in all possible ways. He just recently had anaphylactic shock and barely survived. I'm going to try this protocol you described.

Food and environmental allergy problems -- including other auto-immune diseases -- have statistically risen quite seriously and dramatically for about the last 70 so years. Especially problems like asthma, sinusitis, rhinitis, gluten problems etc. My own way of looking at this is by first finding out and understanding what causes the problem in the body in the first place.

When a foreign protein body enters the human body through an exogenous mucal site such as the intestines, mouth, lungs, eyes or nose, then if you are allergic to this foreign protein, a reaction occurs at the local site. For instance, in an allergic individual, pollen will induce a rise in histamine levels in the mucal nose canal cells which in turn will increases the permeability of the nasal mucus cells causing excessive mucus to form -- thus you get a drippy nose and continually sneeze alot. In the case of asthma, the same thing occurs in the bronchial lining and lung cells -- a heavy build up of mucus in the lungs and the bronchial tubes also constrict, making breathing very difficult. The only answer that Doctors have is to give anti-histamines drugs in the form of sprayers or pumps which, although it alleviates the symptoms -- does not cure anythinig and certainly does not help to address the root cause of allergies.

But how a person becomes an allergy victim in the first place is another more complex story. Here the main areas of concern are the intestines and the liver. Foreign protein bodies usually enter the body through a damaged intestines -- which should not allow large undigested proteins through into the blood or the lymph supply vessels. These foreign protein bodies should then be taken to the liver where these allergens are normally efficiently removed by any healthy liver. In a sick or damaged or over-stressed liver, the allergen cannot be neutralized or stored, so these foreign protein bodies are allowed to continually flow around the blood system and so, in response, the histamine levels naturally increase, causing continual bouts of localized or widespread allergic reactions in the body.

The second problem we have to address is that a healthy liver should also be able to efficiently remove or excrete any excessive histamines within the human body in order to keep the body's serum level histamines in a healthy and acceptable balance. If you have a damaged or insufficient or stressed liver that cannot cope and do its job properly, then the histamine levels in an allergy victim's body will not be in balance -- but they will instead exist in excessive amounts in the blood because the liver cannot adequately remove them. Excessive histamines in the blood will cause consistent and continual inflammotory reactions in the body depending on their level. Hence the continual need for allergy sufferers to forever purchase anti-histamine drugs for the rest of his/her life. The liver is the main excretory path for histamines removal in the body.

Therefore the way to cure allergies is simply to repair your intestines -- to stop any large undigested food protein bodies from entering the blood/lymph causing the allergy and stressing the liver in the first place -- and secondly to repair or revive your own liver into a healthy organ once again in order to achieve complete foreign protein removal from the blood as well as to maintain proper proper controlled histamine balance in the blood.

The initial problem -- in the intestines -- might have initially been caused by perforation of the intestinal walls in the past from another problem like candida or celiac disease or ulcers or IBS for example which will have to be cured first. This is perhaps the most difficult aspect of curing yourself of any food allergies -- in that these associated problems can also be its origin as well as causing further aggravation to the allergic condition in the future.

Dr Gerson from his own use of iodine in his cancer therapy protocol was convinced that when he gave his cancer victims large dose lugol's iodine, all their allergies disappeared completely for life. And Dr Flechas -- from the Iodine Project -- has also proved that taking large dose lugol's iodine -- this inhibits the conversion an amino acid, histidine into histamine -- and prevents over-formation of histamine in the body. This fact will naturally act to help to reduce histamine levels in your body. But iodine also has so many other beneificial effects. It boosts the thyroid which in turn boosts the immune system. Taking iodine also increases body's -- and liver's -- metabolic rate and helps to reduce hormone receptor resistance throughout the body -- ie aids proper hormone balance.

So the best route to perhaps cure allergies for good would seem to be by curing any outstanding problems both in the liver and the intestines and to adopt a much healthier diet regimen. The best protocol for detox AND Liver repair seems to be this one:

Chanca Piedra -- 1000 mgs twice a day at mealtimes.
Milk Thistle -- 1000 mgs twice a day at mealtimes
Alpha Lipoic Acid -- 300 mgs twice a day at mealtimes
Selenium -- 100 micrograms twice a day at mealtimes.
Vitamin C -- As Ascorbate, 1000 mgs twice a day at mealtimes.

Magnesium -- 250 mgs twice a day taken as magnesium citrate or magnesium gluconate. Taken outside mealtimes.

5% Lugol's Iodine -- 2 drops twice a day in a glass of water outside mealtimes.

The above detox and repair will also help to gently purge gallstones from your liver/gallbladder and also should help to remove any kidney stones as well.

Hi Cindy... The best diet is simply an elimination diet which essentially eliminates all the dangerous elements from processed or man-made foods and is the same as the anti-candida diet shown in this EC comment stream here :

www.earthclinic.com/cures/mystery-diagnosis.html

My own health maintenance protocol -- always preventative -- also assumes that you will never realistically be able to avoid processed or man-made foods. After all, in order to stick to such a regimen would mean not going out to parties, not eating in restaurants, not drinking a little wine or coffee with friends now and then -- and what about holidays? I regard this avoid-everything-bad-at-all-costs as a little excessive and extreme in my opinion and not very realistic because I like going out socialising and having fun occasionally. So, unless you are suffering from a major problem like liver problems, heart problems, candida or IBS or Fibromyalgia or arthritis, which does call for a much more intense daily approach and a stricter diet, then my way is simply to adopt a preventative maintenance approach so that you can enjoy your life a wee bit.

So this is why I continually detox my own body on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. My regimen now is much less intense and I've become much more aware of my own body state since ridding myself of candida. I usually take a decoction of Chanca Piedra, Heart Vine(Tinospora cordifolia), Neem leaves and Tumeric Root once a month for about 7 days only. This washes my kidneys, helps revive my liver and intestines as well as helping to rid my body of any excess calcium and acid build-up. I alkalize fairly regularly using Ted's lemon/lime remedy mainly, normally on a daily basis now. I regularly take vitamins and minerals in the form of dessicated liver and fulvic acid as my nutrient baseline. I avoid taking tablets supplements where possible. I also regularly take large dose lugol's Iodine(removes fluoride and bromide as well as all its many other benefits) as well as large dose Magnesium and Vit C(Ascorbate) because not only are these specific nutrients sadly lacking in all western diets, the RDA recommended for these supplements is, in my opinion, way to small as to be almost laughable against all the evidence that's already out there. I also use borax and Hydrogen Peroxide remedies when I have to and regularly use Ted's recommended topical and oral remedies as well. I also keep Methylene Blue, Aspirin and Lysine handy in case I get flu or a cold or some other nasty bug.

So therefore my health maintenance method is almost wholly preventative but not that intense. I continually supplement to supply those vitamins and minerals that I think I am not getting from my food. I also regularly detox heavy metals using sodium thiosulphate or through diet using green tea, cilantro or chlorella. All this has simply become a habit with me now.

I am currently trying something called Chyawanprash -- a complete and all-round Ayurvedic herbal food supplement that contains over 30-40 important Indian herbs(the herbal formula does vary depending on what make you buy) based on an ancient and famous Indian herbal recipe. The Ayurvedic healing system cleverly makes some of its important herbal concoctions completely naturally(no modern preservatives or additives) into food forms that are actually quite tasty -- and by the way, Chyawanprash is delicious -- you can take it with bread or crackers as a spread or simply take two teaspoonfuls a day and it is packed with nutrients. Chyawanprash is a well known herbal rejuvenator in Indian Ayurvedic medicine and contains some very active and important healing herbs like Boerhaavia diffusa(liver, allergies), Indian Myrrh Tree Bark(intestines, parasites), Silver (anti-pathogenic), Indian Gooseberry(high Vit C), Ashwaganda(all round adaptogen -- Indian ginseng), Sida cordifolia(adaptogen, energizing), Black Pepper(for lungs and as an absorbtion synergist), Asparagus(alkaline, acts against arthritis and cancer), Cinnamon(Intestinal protective), Terminalia chebula(anti-ulcer), Tinospora cordifolia(all round adaptogen, liver and kidneys), Tribulus terrestris(libido, sexual organs), Chanca piedra(all round adaptogen, antiviral, liver and kidneys) and there are many more herbs as well.

Chyawanprash is also fairly cheap, you can find it at any Indian grocery or deli because it is an ancient and well-known herbal rejuventor that is still widely used and trusted by the Indian community.
