Swollen Gland Remedies

Posted by Janeinlondon (London , Uk) on 06/11/2013

This is my third bout of swollen glands in 2 months. Tonsils are out. I do not have any other symptoms of flu-throat, nose fine, no aches, not even a headache. Is ACV good here too? Thank you.

I have painless swollen lymph nodes. Behind my ears, neck and under the chin and my tonsils are enlarged. Which remedy can I use? Help me please.

There are many videos on YouTube regard Lymphatic Massage Drainage. Find one specific to your problem area. It only takes a couple minutes to do them and costs nothing.

For swollen lymph nodes: Before anyone suggest a supplement or treatments from your doctor, you can perform a DIY to see if it helps. It involves no cost, no drug, and no pain!

Method: cup your hand, keep all finger tips together forming a semi circle, peck/tap on the nodes on your neck, gently first and progressively with a little more effort. That area will become warm in just a few minutes, showing the increase of blood flow. Do as often you like. Be patient, it takes a long time to form the swelling and it will also take time to remove it! If you notice improvements in a week or so, find a good diagram of the Lymphatic System on the web, work according to the flow of the ducts (towards the collar bones). Do both sides at this time. The purpose is to move the lymph fluids!

Lymphatic fluids are moved by muscle contractions. If one sits all day long, the fluids become staid that can cause a buildup.

GtCharlie-your tapping remedy should have a thread if it's own! I've had a swollen gland on the right, below my ear, under my jaw for two days now. I read somewhere that one if the keys to longevity is to rub/massage anything that hurts. I have been rubbing like crazy for about 24 hours now trying to get this thing to drain. It hasn't been working.

I read your reply amongst the ACV comments and decided to try it. I made my fingers into a semicircle and started tapping. Within a couple if minutes there was a marked decrease in pain. I tapped some more and could feel the swelling going down and some muck draining down my throat. I have chronic allergies and get sinus infections, so I'm sure that's how this whole mess started.

Thanks Charlie!

I woke up this morning with horribly swollen lymph nodes under my jaw, and am working on a cup of hot water with honey and apple cider vinegar, per recommendations elsewhere in this thread. Kept reading, and I'm glad I did! I tried tapping as described here and got instant relief- my entire jaw and throat loosened up within 30 seconds or so, and swallowing is much easier and less painful.

I think that between tapping and ACV I'll be able to keep this under control without heading to the medicine cabinet or drugstore. Thank you, Gtcharlie and other earthclinic posters!

GtCharlie - THANK YOU!! Since I have been rubbing and poking at the painful areas on my upper right & left jaw and behind my ears and down my neck for weeks, I really didn't think the semi circle tapping would do anything different. AAAAHHH! Relief! I've just been doing it for the last 20 minutes (intermittently) and my jaw pain is pretty much gone. My neck feels so much better and behind my ears are already less tender. I thought my upper traps hurt from stress/sitting at the computer, but the tapping relieved the tension their too - so I'm thinking maybe that was the lymph just sitting there not draining. Thank you for sharing. <3

I am so thankful for these home remedies. This time last night, I was in terrible pain from a swollen lymph node in my groin area. This is the first time I ever had one in this area. I have had them under my arms, but this was a first. After taking pain medicine and getting very little relief, I tried the 1 teaspoon of sea salt and 1 teaspoon of baking soda. By morning, the pain had diminished tremendously. So much so, I did not take anymore pain medicine, and the swelling had gone down some. I decided to take a tablespoon of castor oil, and then 3 hours later, around 9:00am, I took 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in just a little water. What had been pain was now just discomfort. By noon I took another 2 tablespoons of ACV and put a warm compress on the area because I noticed that it was actually turning into a boil that was preparing to drain. What is so incredible about this is that the night before, there was no sign that this mass was going to drain at all! Within 10 minutes of using the warm compress, the boil began to drain and there was instant relief. Tonight I have taken another 2 tablespoons of ACV and I've drank a little more of the 1 teaspoon sea salt and baking soda. I am sure I will have a good nights rest, unlike the last 3 nights.

I'm having so many symptom due to my under-active thyroids and Multiple Sclerosis. Dry skin, hair loss, extreme fatigue, insomnia, swollen lymph node, candida infections constipation and etc... The last three symptoms before the etc are the most bothersome because of the pain and discomfort. So I came across this wonderful web site and tried Ted's remedy of 1/2 tsp of sea salt and 1/2 tsp of baking soda in a glass of water. Well, I must say, I'm am impress with this remedy. This really works as a laxative, and my candida, lymph swelling and tenderness went away. I am going to try other remedies in this web site which hopefully can help me with other symptoms and illnesses I have.

I'm definitely going to recommend this to all my family and friends.

EC: Cross-posted to the Multiple Ailments page as well, thank you!

My daughter woke in the morning with her neck swollen on one side. I took her to the dr/ to see what it was. I was told she had a lymph node infection. He prescribed antibiotics for it. I don't agree with antibiotics so I went to this website and search for the cure. I did the 1 cup of water with 1 teaspoon sea salt and 1 tspoon of baking soda. I made her drink as much as she could of that. She's 5 yr old and its difficult to make her drink anything she don't like. I also gave her a few yogurts to eat. And bathed her in a bath of water with 1 cup of apple cider vinegar, 1 cup of epsom salts and 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide. I made sure to continuously pour the water over her throat area. well, I was amazed to see that it was no longer swollen that night and the next morning she was just fine like nothing ever happened. I love this website!

I am 42 to years old and never believed in Natural Remedies always antibiotics. Now I'm a believer. I just tried the 1 cup of water with 1 teaspoon sea salt and 1 teaspoon of baking soda remedy (Dam that's nasty) for swollen glands. I am amazed how quickly it reduced the size of my swollen gland in my neck. As I type this I occasional check it and it's gone from the size of a hard kidney bean to a long piece of gum. Thank you for posting this natural remedy. I'll have to try ACV. From what I've read it cures quite a few things. My mom has it in her frig ever time I visit her and laugh and think "you old fool". Now who's the fool? Me! Just checked my gland and it's still sore but taking on a new shape. Long, flat and now vertical, but still sore to the touch. I'll post later if time allows regarding my prognosis.

Your lymph system is the sewer for your cells. It has no pump like your blood system. The only natural way to keep the system flowing is to exercise. Another good way to keep it flowing is to dry brush your skin prior to your bath. Since the system flows to your bowels, brush only in that direction. The constriction of your skin to the brush causes the fluid to flow. Swollen nodes is a sign of pluggage. Google dry skin brushing for more specifics. I continue to be amazed at the simple things we can do to obtain better health. Just sorry I waited until I was in my 70's to begin to learn.

I would like to add for the swollen lymph nodes in the neck, to rub a small amount of Turpentine ( Pure gum Spirits ) along the lymph nodes on both sides of the neck. I did this and in less than 24 hours the nodes had went down and the infection was gone.

How did u apply this to your lymph nodes and do I need to cover my nose to avoid inhalation? Should I use gloves or cottonball, Q-tip, a carrier oil? Like what should I expect? Please share.

Vibe Machine

Hi Bill....I am curious to know what are your thoughts on the vibe machine used mostly at the chiro's office for supposedly lymph cleansing...I have heard a lot of people say how much better they feel after using it but thought before I invest why not get my favorite people in the world input first. Anyone with knowledge is free to comment. Thank you everyone for all you do...don't know what a lot of us myself included will do without this site...its more than a blessing...peace...

I ended up buying one, and would not be without it.

Of course I tend to be too sedentary. This machine gives me one easy way to flush out all nodes, as the lymphatic nodes do not have any natural pumping mechanism, they re a passive filtration system.

Always drink water before and after, to balance electrolytes.

Vit C always helped me with swollen glands. Whenever I had any problems, I'd just take several vitamin C tablets throughout the day. Usually the problem was gone in a couple days.

I had very bothersome lymph nodes for many years(about 8 years). Mainly my neck. Had every test under the sun. Everything was negative. The thing I finally found that worked was vitamin C. About 4 grams a day. It took a about a month till they were hardly noticeable. Even now(12 years later)... If I feel them even a little, I'll take more and usually a day and I'm fine again. The past year I haven't taken any. Just figured I'd share this. They were very bothersome all the time... I know what it's like.

Yoga, Movement or Exercise

Lymph nodes are not that active by themselves so they are something that we sort of have to work on and pay attention to. A lymphatic massage is a good way to get the lymph fluid circulating, albeit a rather expensive remedy unless you have a college or school nearby that offers sessions at a reduced rate to give students hands on experience.

One way to stimulate the movement of lymph fluid at home is to do yoga. The process of bending, stretching, twisting, contracting and relaxing the muscles acts to squeeze the nodes so they can express the fluid. Another thing I have read that is beneficial to circulating the lymph fluid is using a mini trampoline or rebounder. The action of the gentle jumping causes the lymph fluid to move, in fact it stimulates us at a cellular level in a positive manner. Rebounding is suppose to be an excellent method of body detoxification while using other methods such as internal toxin cleansers, far infared saunas, candida and heavy metals therapies, etc.

One last way to help get lymph fluid moving is to do dry skin brushing before a shower/bath in a circular motion from the ends of your extremities towards your heart, or use a wet loofa sponge, sisal fiber mitt or ayate wash cloth the same way in a shower or bath. They all serve to stimulate circulation and movement of lymph fluid, remove dead skin cells and help detox the body. A stimulating cold shower may also help.

In essence, all forms of movement and exercise will stimulate the lymph glands to do their job so they do not get congested, infected or swollen. Our days of sit down jobs, machines and appliances to do most of our work for us is causing our bodies more problems than what other generations had to deal with. Our bodies were meant to move, not sit dormant. Blessings, Robin

Just want to say how effective movement was for my horribly swollen lymph glands in my neck. I looked like I had goiters, they were so incredibly huge. I actually looked up goiters on the net to make sure that wasn't what it was, and saw how goiters are much lower. Mine were just under the jawline, but I had never seen or imagined they could puff up so much. And they just kept getting more swollen. I think it was from chemical exposure, though not sure. I wound up with a terrible kidney infection with a kidney stone 2 weeks later, so perhaps that was it??? At any rate, my daughter, who is a yoga and pilates instructor, told me to bounce on my excercise ball gently but regularly to get the lymph system moving. I had just read how it can take weeks or months to clear, so I was ready to try anything! Anyway, I began bouncing for a few minutes several times a day. My neck was so swollen I could feel it bouncing, so I took it pretty gentle at first, but by the second day the swelling had lessened. 4 days later it was gone. I'll never know for sure what caused it, but I will never be so careless as to use chemical cleaners without good ventilation again. And I now try to make regular bouncing on my ball part of each day's exercise plan.

I've swollen lymph nodes in several areas on my neck. Some as small as a marbel and others the size of a flat lemon. I don't know what to do. Its been more than a month since I had them. And they keep on growing. I don't sleep in the right direction and right the next day I get a swollen lymph node somewhere on the neck. Its frustrating. My doc told me to be patient and that it will vanish in 2 weeks max but that was a month ago!!! They've not even decreased a bit.

Then I read this remedy and discussed it with my doctor and he forbade me from doing it saying its not effective:s WHAT SHOULD I DO?!!! My brother's getting married next month and I don't want my neck to look like a football! HELP :( :(

Hi - Has the doctor checked your thyroid and done blood work? If you have thyroid problems it can make your neck look all swollen. Also - look into rebounding. Google it... it is very good for lymph gland draining. Good luck
