Baking soda is an effective and inexpensive cure for bladder infections. It is best taken at early onset of UTI symptoms.
Add ½ teaspoon baking soda to a glass of purified water. Consume the baking water tonic remedy 3 to 4 times on the first day.
If the symptoms have improved by day 2, reduce the frequency of the dose to twice daily for 2-3 more days until symptoms are completely resolved.
Baking soda water is best taken on an empty stomach, in between meals or with a light meal. If consumed with a large meal, baking soda can cause bloating and abdominal discomfort.
Baking soda helps to alkalize the body. However, some bacteria do not mind an alkaline environment. If that is the case, a different remedy may be needed.
Baking soda can be also added to apple cider vinegar, another popular remedy combination on Earth Clinic.
