I started to drink Organic Cherry Juice for gout. I mix it with another antioxidant juice for sweetness. I mix 8 oz. of Cherry juice with 4 oz. of antioxidant juice. It tastes less tart this way. I drink 2-3 glasses of this when I have an acute gout (pseudo gout actually) attack.
I also take 900 mg of turmeric in a capsule form in the morning and another 900 mg capsule in the evening. Works better and gentler than prednisone.
I have suffered for this ailment for 15 yrs, and it has been hard when the medications don't work (allopurinol) or the doctors don't want to prescribe them (prednisone). I wish I had known about this years ago. It is very potent., and works for me very well.
Warning though: the Cherry Juice will cause some serious flatulence if your stomach isn't used to it. It did to me…:)
I believe GOUT moves around in your body…lower back, knees, hips, shoulders, hands, feet, ankles, and varies in intensity…you gotta stick with it to remove it…
Oh my! I’ve had a pain in my hip since last Easter, today that pain is gone and my toe is swollen red and hard. Wonder if it’s gout? That’s what I was researching here on EC. It’s the toe next to the bigtoe, looks red and like a hammertoe. It bothered me some time ago and this hip pain comes and goes, so I wonder if what you said may be what’s going on.
Starting acv tonight, will alternate acv with baking soda and add turmeric (I have the bulk powder that I put into capsules, so easy to take).
To lessen and remove most, if not all, inflammation, including osteoarthritic symptoms AND gout, I've been been drinking 2-3 times per week the coconut milk/turmeric/cayenne pepper remedy. It really does work!! I found the recipe here on EC (just search for it). Here is how I make it:
1 can coconut milk – I believe the whole-fat is preferred but it's 400 cals/can! So I've opted for the low-fat. I pour the whole can (14 oz) into my blender, add 2 teaspoons turmeric (get it in bulk cheap at the Indian store), add 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (also in bulk at the Indian store), and about 1/4 cup of organic apple juice to sweeten the recipe and lessen the intensity of the cayenne! Sometimes I add a small banana and some protein powder.
What I've read is the cayenne increases the benefits of the turmeric by 400%.
Well, I'm amazed that after 1-2 weeks of drinking this 2-3 times per week, the osteoarthritic symptoms are all but gone! And, knock on wood, I haven't had ANY gout attacks in awhile. Note also that I try to avoid any/all sugar, as well as avoiding the "white" foods (flour, rice, etc. ), and avoid processed foods.
CURE FOR GOUT: Read all you can about Turmeric for Gout. I have a friend that cured himself with Turmeric powder.
