The 5 Mix is a specially prepared tonic of five ingredients that many have found helpful for a variety of heart-related conditions. It is also used to prevent heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
The Five Mix Recipe
- 1 cup raw and organic apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup ginger juice
- 1 cup garlic juice
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice
- 3 cups of raw honey
Use as high a quality of ingredients that you are able to obtain. Organic is preferred. The easiest way to get the garlic and ginger juice is with a juicer. But if you do not have a juicer, you can blend the garlic (or ginger) and then squeeze out the juice. You may need to strain the juice through cheesecloth or a coffee filter.
You do not have to use 1 cup of each, but use the same cup to measure each ingredient so you will have the correct proportions of each.
In a pot that is glass or ceramic, combine the ginger juice, garlic juice, lime (or lemon) juice and the apple cider vinegar. Heat the tonic over medium heat and reduce to a simmer and allow to cook for ½ an hour. If your mixture reduces to ¾ of the original amount, remove from heat, even if it hasn’t been 30 minutes.
Stir in 3 cups of honey.
Cool your tonic and store in the refrigerator for up to two months.
Take 1 tablespoon of the tonic each morning on an empty stomach. You can repeat the dose in the evening if you like. Discontinue the tonic if it disagrees with you.
If you are diabetic, you should monitor your blood sugar to make sure the honey is not adversely affecting your sugar numbers.
While many have found this to help with blood pressure, high cholesterol, and blockages in the circulatory system, this remedy will not suit everyone. If you have a serious medical condition, consult your health professional to make sure the tonic will not interact with your medications.
Dosage: 1 tablespoon in the morning on an empty stomach. Dose can be repeated in the evening if desired.
