Ovarian Cyst – Natural Remedies for Holistic Treatment

June 21, 2018 //  by Earth Clinic Creative Team//  424 Comments

The best treatment of ovarian cysts involves a holistic approach. Combining dietary changes with supplements and other therapies extends a balanced approach for overall health and reduction of cyst size. Avoiding certain foods, taking supplements and maintaining an active lifestyle are all important components for treating ovarian cysts.

What are Ovarian Cysts?

Ovarian cysts are an issue of the female reproductive system characterized by a fluid-filled sac on the ovary. The cause of the condition varies but includes irregular cycles, hormone balance and hypothyroidism. Some women experience no symptoms of the condition while others undergo severe indications including nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, pain and frequent urination.

Natural Treatment for Cysts on the Ovaries

Treating ovarian cysts requires a balanced approach that works to equalize hormones and diminish contributing factors. Avoiding contributing foods and other products is one of the first steps toward treatment. Additionally, supplements can be taken that are effective at reducing cysts. Exercise is also an important contribution to treating issues of the reproductive system.

Dietary Changes

Estrogen is one of the main contributing factors to ovarian cysts. As such, avoiding an overabundance of this hormone is crucial. Eliminating soy and mass produced meats in exchange for an organic diet is one of the most effective ways to regulate the amount of estrogen going into the body.

Supplements

Many supplements are also effective for managing cysts of the ovaries. DIM aids in hormonal balance as well as reducing the size of cysts. Other supplements that serve as effective treatments include maca root, black cohosh root, dong quai root, milk thistle seed, tribulus, vitex, wild yam root and yarrow.

Exercise

Exercise is one of the key factors in a balanced lifestyle. This factor also contributes to treatment of ovarian cysts. Light exercise like walking can alleviate heavy menstrual bleeding as well as cramping associated with the cysts. Additionally, yoga and other stretching exercises aid in muscle relaxation and circulation of the body.

Ovarian cysts are a common condition of the female reproductive system. While some cysts cause few to no symptoms, others may cause pain and several other associated issues. Natural, holistic treatment, however, can eliminate symptoms and diminish the size of cysts.

    Side effect reported

    Hello

I started using the beets, apple cider and blackstrap molasses mixture about a week ago. The day I started using it I saw blood but my period was suppose to be due in 4 days time so I thought it came early. The thing is I have not stopped bleeding since then. It’s day 10 today and I am still bleeding. My period usually last for 7 days. I have a small fibroids and cyst on my two ovaries. Should I stop taking the mixture. I am so confused now.

I would stop, at least for a while.

When you are not having any bleeding you could try castor oil packs. It worked well for my ovarian cysts, but you should not use it during menstruation.

How long do you have to take ACV or any other remedy to see results? I am desperately trying to avoid surgery but I have been taking ACV for close to 3 months now with no significant results.

This is my story. MARGARET D. STORY.

    Please feel free to share.

I feel the responsibility of sharing my story, because someone out there, might benefit from it.

A couple of months ago, an ultrasound test indicated an ovarian cyst on my left ovary. A complex one. For those who are not too familiar with the term, a complex ovarian cysts, is not a result of the menstrual cycle process as a "simple" ovarian cyst might be. A complex ovarian cysts can result in overgrowth, leading to further complications. This also includes the risk of ovarian cancer.

My cyst was largely replacing the left ovary. That's why, the surgery topic was imminent to avoid future complications. My right ovary was affected too by a "simple cyst".

In one of my conversations with the doctor, I asked her if there was any other way to get rid of the problem to avoid surgery. Sadly she said "no". My left ovary was going to be removed as well.

An MRI was performed as well. The cyst actually was getting bigger.

My brain was set up for surgery. But while waiting for my insurance to approve the procedure, I started to overthink: What if I can get rid of the cyst with natural alternatives?

After hours, and hours of research, and after reading testimonies after testimonies, I decided to try it. Why not? I didn't want to go though surgery PERIOD!!

I came across Apple Cider Vinegar, molasses, Echinacea and Dong Quai.

    The dosage:

1 spoon of Apple Cider Vinegar and 1 spoon of molasses. Mix together on a 4 to 5oz of warm water, early in the morning on empty stomach. The same dosage before going to bed every night.

3 Echinacea pills, plus 2 Dong Quai pills. Up to 3 times a day.

I did this for a 3 week period without missing any dosage.

Note: if you are taking any blood thinner, need to take precautions with the Dong Quai. And if you are suffering from cancer as well. Try to reduce or eliminate the consumption of aspirin. Stop taking Dong Quai during your menstrual cycle. If you are pregnant, consult your doctor first.

    Update:

My last trans abdominal and trans vaginal ultrasound was performed August 9, 2017 and got the results on August 16, 2017.

Results: No indications of either cysts. Not even a trace. CYSTS ARE GONE!!

I hope this information can help you or can help anyone you know that is going through the same or similar situation.

If it worked for me, can work for someone else. Keep the faith and GO FOR IT!

Hi Margaret, thank you for sharing your post/story. I have almost your same situation and am worried about the one complex cyst turning into cancer. I just had another ultrasound and in 6 weeks it had grown a little. Not good. My GYN doesn't seem to be as worried as I am. I'm turning 60 this week and am in menopause so these kinds of things seem more scary. I don't want surgery either. I've had cysts since my teens. I'm anxious/excited to try this. 🙂 Is it possible for you to let me know the dosages of the supplements? Thank you. I'll let you know if your remedy gets rid of my cyst. I've had this one for years :(. Ordering supplements tomorrow. Thanks again for posting your story! 🙂 If it works, I'll be sharing your story for sure. Especially, with my daughter who has issues as well and is trying to conceive. Congrats on the success. Hope it works for me! Hugs.

Hi, I was a couple of months ago diagnosed with polycystic ovaries, an ultrasound scan found small cysts approx. 15mm on both ovaries and I've been experiencing pelvic pain.

After looking into natural remedies I started taking a teaspoon of Applecider vinegar in a small glass of water and black treacle (Black strap molasses UK equivalent) I made the black treacle into bonfire toffee to make it more palatable and took both twice a day. I also tried to improve my diet more fruit veg fish etc increase exercise plus took multi vitamins. I'm not sure whether any of the above helped but 2 months later all the cysts have gone. They may have gone on their own or some or all of the above may have helped. I still have some pelvic pain but not as severe.

      Dear Shilpi,

I have used apple cider vinegar all through conception, pregnancy and breastfeeding with no problems at all.

I would use a tablespoon or two throughout the day. Just a capful of it into each glass of water I drank.

Does ACV and BSM aid in ovulation? I have PCOS but ovulation is my main issue.

ACV and blackstrap don't cause ovulation to start. They feed the body so it will work better. Taking them may improve your health and allow ovulation to happen.

Also, look into hormone balancing herbs, borax, and a good diet. (Though not a diet high in animal products. Too many competing hormones, even in organic meats.)
