I put 1-2 tsp Borax in my 16 oz nasal wash bottle along with 1/2 my regular tsp of salt/soda/xylitol mix (because borax has sodium in it and too much sodium can burn). On the 2nd day and for the first time, ever, my clogged side of my sinuses is open and my other side is not as open (which is normal for them to switch, in healthy sinuses, but mine never do). I noticed right away my sense of smell was so much better and can't wait to see more improvement over time! I suspect a fungal sinus infection which my doctors never cared to properly diagnose and being over-prescribed antibiotics which lets fungus grow in the body like crazy, so also taking a good probiotic. That's always a must!!!
Finally someone else uses borax in neti pot for sinus infection, and it works! I am an acupuncturist and open-minded for remedies, so when I was researching for mold/fungus cures I ran across boron (an element on the periodic chart), the main ingrediant of borax. desert salts make sense for eliminating mold and fungus (damp heat in Chinese medicine), so I started using 1 teaspoon borax in 8oz neti + 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt, and voila, my chronic sinus issue went away in about a month.
I suspected it was a mold or fungus, and I was correct. This sinus issue was wickedly all-consuming for about 5 months. Nobody but us seems to understand that borax is perfect topical for a mold-induced sinus issue, which is probably quite common… borax is also wonderful remedy for arthritic conditions/bone health in as much as it allows calcium to be efficiently transported to the bones. But that is another story. …
