Turmeric, a potent medicinal spice, is an effective natural remedy to heal a painful sty. Turmeric reduces inflammation and fights many bacteria, including staph, the cause of most styes. Turmeric can be used internally to treat a sty or it can be used directly on the eye.
How to Take Turmeric Internally for Styes
To use turmeric internally, add ½ to 1 teaspoon of turmeric to 3 ounces of whole milk, almond milk or coconut milk. This can be used three times a day to fight styes or other bacterial infections. Before drinking the milk, a drop or two of the turmeric milk can be applied to the sty.
How to Take Turmeric Externally for Styes
Turmeric can also be used topically to treat a sty. Simply mix 1/8 teaspoon of turmeric into an ounce of water and use the turmeric water as an eyewash three times a day. Make a fresh batch of eyewash each time.
Annie from Durban, South Africa writes Earth Clinic:
I had a very nasty sty on my upper eyelid for some days before discovering the TURMERIC CURE here @ EARTH CLINIC. I immediately diluted a little turmeric powder in warm water in a liqueur glass & bathed my eye with this – holding the glass very close to my eye to prevent spillage.
I kept it in place for a minute or less, and VOILA! within hours (can’t recall how many) the sty reached a head & burst on its own. I helped to drain it using hot water on cotton wool & the little that remained disappeared within the next 24hrs. THANK YOU EARTH CLINIC & to everyone that has kindly contributed their testimonials as well! TURMERIC really works like MAGIC! Thanks GOD too for this AWESOME gift!
