Cayenne pepper works for strep throat! Cayenne pepper is not only very inexpensive, but it works very quickly to relieve the pain and infection associated with strep throat.
How Do I Use Cayenne Pepper for Strep Throat?
As usual, our readers have come up with a variety of effective and creative ways to treat strep throat.
An easy way to use cayenne pepper for strep throat is to make a gargle. Add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to a small cup. Add 1/4 cup of warm water to the cup. Mix. Apply lip balm to your lips to avoid the pepper burning your lips. Now gargle the cayenne pepper and water solution. Cayenne begins to work immediately. While this remedy can be spicy hot, the spicy feeling doesn’t last long. And the spicy feeling numbs the throat some as well. Sometimes after using the gargle it is easier to eat and drink for a while. Repeat the gargle every two hours on the first day. Gargle four times on the next day. Once you have experienced significant improvement, continue to gargle once or twice a day until the throat is completely healed.
Cayenne Throat Spray
If you cannot imagine getting the cayenne on your mouth or tongue, mix 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper and 1 cup of water into a spray bottle and spray the back of your throat. This could be done hourly the first day and at least 4 times a day or more often, if needed, the second day. Continue with frequent spraying until the throat is completely healed.
Cayenne on a Q-tip
Another way to get the cayenne pepper to your throat is to use a q-tip. Wet a q-tip and dip it in cayenne pepper and swab the back of your throat four times a day. Some of our readers have used honey on the q-tip and then put that into the cayenne pepper. Applying cayenne and honey puts two anti-bacterial and healing elements into action.
Add Cayenne to Food
Some of our contributors just added cayenne pepper to the food they consumed. Because this would deliver a more diluted concentration of cayenne to the throat, if you do not see results quickly, do add one of the above delivery methods to your treatment plan. Adding cayenne to soup may be the best way to get it onto your throat, if the “add cayenne to food” is your method of choice.
