Many herbs have anti-bacterial properties, making them idea in the treatment of strep throat.
Herbs can be taken in capsule form, in tincture form, or in a tea.
Tea is an especially wonderful way to take your herbs when you have a throat infection. Warm herbal tea will get the herbs in direct contact with the infection and will be soothing as well. Some herbs do not lend themselves to tea as they are strong and bitter, like goldenseal, though this is a great herb for strep throat.
Use any of the following herbs or a combination of them in a tea for strep throat:
Ginger, clove and cinnamon go very well together, as do ginger and peppermint.
Adding a pinch of cayenne to any of these teas will add a bit of kick and healing power to your blend.
Echinacea tincture can be taken internally or sprayed onto the throat.
