Thank you earth clinic. we''re all in this together. I spend lots of time reading about remedies and testimonies, the yes and the nays, its all good. I am pleased to read the nays that come from people who understand that even though the product didn't work for them, doens't mean the other testimonies are fake, just as we all are individuals, we get different responses.it's all good, learn from it and ask your higher power to send you what works. thats what i did; I have been trying lots of things, every time I read a testimony, I run out and buy the stuff and start using, and a week later, I decide, this thing is not working, and sometimes get angry because I have a cabinet full of ingredients'don't want to use anymore; then i started reading the testimonies from my heart, and listening to how I really feel about a product.

What happened is that ideas started coming to me, and one of them is honey, I decided to try honey on my acne face, I had half a jar of manuka honey at home so I started using it along with baking soda and lemon juice, and imediately I could see a glow. I also had pain in my gum, and have been using OP with some results, but still had soreness with brushing, then todaY i DECIDED TO USE THE HONEY inplace of oil, put a tsp in mouth for about 5 to 10 minutes, then spit it out and brush, wow! no pain or soreness, I also had a bump on my face, i put a dab of honey and went to bed, this money bump gone. I tok the honey jar and spoke into it thanking all the bees that gave me this wonderful product, I thanked the farmers, the store keepers and last but not least this wonderful site, earthclinic. thank you for taking us back to earth, now i know everything works, at the right time with the right attitude. Love always.

Multiple Remedies

After finding out about all these harsh chemicals in our toiletries & makeup I realized that must be the reason so many of us have developed skin problems. Therefore I started looking into all "natural" toiletries and face care products but they just dont seem to be as effective, and thats when I came up with my own gentle yet effective face wash. I didn't really measure anything I just wanted a good consistency, not too thick not too thin, so I went on to mix baking soda, a little bentonite clay, raw honey and just a little apple cider vinegar in a glass jar, mix it well, you may add a little more a little less of any ingredient until you reach the consistency that is right for you. I use this product every night and it makes me feel at ease knowing I am not putting any chemicals on my face! I also make 1 serving of oatmeal but instead of using 1 cup of water I use about 1/3 or a 1/4 apple cider vinegar and the rest water pop it in the microwave then I let it cool down a little and apply it on my clean face for about an hour. This really draws out the dirt and grime in your face and makes it easy to take out those stubborn blackheads, not to mention it leaves your face feeling soft and doesn't overdry, yey! After I rinse off the mask I just spray my face with a mixture of Lily of the desert aloe vera gel and purified water, again I don't have the exact measurement but don't make it too thick it should still look like a liquid and it should be easily sprayed on a spray or even better with a mist bottle. And lastly I apply lime juice to any blemishes and dark spots I may have and I always try to get at least 8 hours of sleep. In the morning I simply wash with water and apply the aloe vera and water mixture, then I apply my organic mineral makeup. Hope this helps you guys, and remember nature is your best friend!

Milk of Magnesia

Milk of Magesia(Philips brand ex.) is an amazing mask to draw out the impurities and treat acne. You can use this mask once a week or daily for very oily skin. It has done wonders for my skin. It works much more effectively than any clay mask etc. You can use Philips Milk of Magnesia brand or any store brand works fine. Shake up well and apply. The consistancy is liquid, but will dry and harden quickly. Then rinse. The milk combined with the baking soda scrub that has been mentioned previously by others is an effective combination to treat acne. You simply mix the baking soda with either water or a gentle facial cleanser and scrub in lightly, not too abrasively to irritate your skin. Because I have sensitive skin, I do not use both treatments on the same day, but it is up to your disgretion. Also another great remedy to treating acne is wiping H2O2 or your skin. My final tip is not a holistic remedy, yet is very effective: benzol peroxide, you can purchase this at any drugstore. You only use a small amount and gradually work up the frequency of application, because benzoyl peroxide can be very drying. Also, do not use hydrogen peroxide the same time that you use the benzoyl peroxie for this would be too strong for your skin. Hope this info helps someone. Good luck, this has been the trick for me.

My staph problem is clearing up with a topical application of clindoxyl, however I did want to comment on Ted's suggestion of zinc and manganese supplements for oily skin. Oily skin can help create conditions for stubborn bacterial infections for the bacteria feeds off all that excess sebum. Prior to Ted's suggestion I had been supplementing with 75mg of zinc gluconate with 10mg of tin oxide for about a month with perhaps the result of clearing up seborrheic dermatitis around my nose, eyebrows and ear folds. I still had very oily skin on my face and scalp though. As was recommended, I've been supplementing with a cup of soy milk along with 50mg of chelated manganese for six days now and my face is noticeably less oily. I've also been taking in 150mg of flax lignan, which I've read also helps. At any rate, something here is working. I'll continue to supplement with the manganese for another week, as per Ted's suggestion. Perhaps this info could be cross-posted to the acne page as well. Thank you!

CORAL CALCIUM: I take about 800-1000mg - two in the morning. Results should appear in about two weeks. My understanding is that people with facial acne is a result not so much from infection of oil glands or dirty skin, but a mineral deficiency. I first came across this product originally to treat calcium deficiency. After using it for awhile my facial acne disappeared. Coral Calcium can be found in drug stores, Wal-Mart, kmart, and the like. Take care.

Gaia Milk Thistle Yellow Dock Tincture helps to correct metabolic disorders and rid of EVERY type of acne (no matter what type) and lots of other skin disorders. Can cause flare up as you begin but I used it on and off for years now I have seldom use for it. It's not just Milk Thistle and Yellow Dock so I really haven't found another brand that works like this. I keep going back to it even when I try other herbal "acne" tinctures.

My mother developed cystic acne as a young adult. She is gorgeous but with a very scarred face. She still tries to get dermatologists to help but has never had the success I do! I used to work in a health food store and recommended this to many people. O

ne lady said her son had acne so badly they had him on Proactive and Accutane. He stopped those and switched to the Gaia tincture. She was so amazed, she brought him in a week later with scars healing and redness disappearing. She said it changed his life.

i read a piece by anne louise gettleman, a leading nutritionist from the US about her experience with acne. when she was at uni in the 70s she was a big advocate of vegetarian diets and was on one herself. she soon developed symptoms of bad acne, an overactive mind and tired body and hair loss. this is because veg diets are high in copper and low in zinc. copper and zinc are antagonistic to each other and when one rises the other falls. upon discovering that this was the underlying cause of her symptoms, she went back to an animal based diet, her energy came back, her acne cleared up and her hair became full again. too little zinc can cause acne.

My daughter had severe acne as a teenager and saw three different dermatologist giving her various medications that hardly made a difference. I read that often times acne is caused by a zinc deficiency. I took her off of all perscription meds and put her on zinc supplements 3x a day. Within a month all of her acne was gone. She had some redness and scarring but all acne was gone. I was amazed that something so simple, over the counter, could work so well. I'm not sure if I can mention this or not but if you need the exact amount it was in some book that is titled Foods that Heal.

Try whisking an egg in a glass bowl and smear onto your face using sliced raw potatoes. This is guaranteed to work for healthy, cleaner, spotless, softer skin. I tried it and gave it to all my friends who suffered acne and pimple problems and their skin looks great ! Go on, give it a go... suitable for all skin types.

Aloe Vera

At 51, I continue to have the occasional pimple, often on my nose, sometimes on my lower lip or elsewhere. Recently, while doing some yard work, I accidentally sliced a piece of aloe vera from a plant. Having heard about its medicinal value, I tried applying the sap on a fast growing pimple on my lower lip. I reapplied the invisible sap four times in the course 24 hours, and twice the next day. The pimple just evaporated. I've since tried it repeatedly with the same results. I'm delighted. This was must faster than anything I've experienced before. My garden aloe is free. Like I said, the sap is invisible. There is an initial odor, but it fades quickly. I recommend trying it.

Pure Aloe Vera gel, applied topically two or three times a day does wonders for acne! Though you may need a good moisturizer, even with oily skin, because the aloe dries your skin right up.

Aspirin Mask

Crush Aspirin and add a little bit of water to make it a paste and then heat it in a microwave and add to the face as a mask. This removed the redness from my skin were my pimples were.
