Boil Outbreak Theories

CLIMATE CHANGE...Did not get boils until I moved from New York to Maine (in my armpits)and then I moved from Michigan to Texas 25 years ago. When I arrived in Texas- I blew up like a balloon on my right eye and my breast. Once I became adjusted to the climate they weren't near as bad. One here and one there. They only come up in spring and fall for some reason. Now I am going through menopause and have a lot popping up. I use Desiten cream to keep them dry AS soon as I notice one and wash the area a lot to keep them at bay. But do NOT shave any areas that they are present. Also, the deodorant I use is natural salts found in health food stores. That helps immensely. Don't change soaps- Use Caress or Dove only. It's a ongoing challenge...I am going to try to Tumeric- Thank you for this website.

Turmeric, Tea Tree Oil

Thank you for the info. This is my story on Turmeric and Tea Tree Oil
12-14-08: Day 1
I had one huge boil in my armpit well I had to take antibiotics for 10 days and since it only went down half way they put me on another 10 days finally it was gone. Than about a week later I got 1 in the armpit again just in a little different spot, I finally got it down by lancing it myself and cleaning it but now I have 7 small boils in my armpit and I can not take this anymore so I went searching for some kind of cure. I came across this site and began reading a lot of the post more good post than bad so I thought I would try this Turmeric, well let me tell you folks hope you read what they say really good before trying it, I messed up I thought it read 1 to 2 TBS in warm water so I heaped up those TBS and mixed it up and oh my goosh I thought I was going to puke it was one of the most disguising taste that I think I have ever tasted. At that moment I thought I can not do this I am getting the pill form, but to find out it says 1 to 2 teaspoons and it don't say how much water use more than 4 oz like I did made it even worse and hard to swallow. I am still going to get it in pill form I do not think I could drink that mixture at all ever again.
I made a paste of Turmeric, Neosporin, Baking Soda, Lemon extract & Apple Cider Vinegar and tried to go to sleep ya right it wasn't working the pain was so unbearable.
Day 2
I woke up and washed my underarm to see and feel those things where still there and nothing had changed with them in there appearance or soreness. So this time since I am allergic to tape and I know I am but I had no way of keeping the paste on. I now have caused redness even more so around those things and some raw skin because when I tried to take the tape off it took my skin with it. I am in so much pain it has given me a headache. So now I think what am I going to do, I didn't have a clue, I decided to put some calamine lotion on all of it.
I seen that the roads where horrible out and I thought to my self oh no I am not going to be able to go to Wal-Mart to get those pills, so I decided to try 1tsp of the turmeric on orange juice it does not dissolve in orange juice, it was gross to say the least, maybe if I heated up the orange juice it would have dissolved but that is horrible hot OJ not for me.
Tonight I drank some more with warm water still disgusting as ever and this time I feel like I could absolutely puke, it has upset my stomach so much I will not do the powder thing again, it will have to wait until I can get it into pill form. Still no relief I keep taking 2 - Tylenol 650mg ever 4 to 6 hours, I have tried so many things the last couple of days I am about ready to give up and call the doctor.
Day 3
I slept with the heating pad under my arm on and off all night long it was the only thing that gave me any relief. I decided it was time no matter what the weather was like to go to the store and get some Turmeric (500mg) in pill form. I step outside and it is snowing and a blowing I was like oh my goosh, I didn't care I was going to get some of those pills. I knew I would not be able to drink another drop of that powder mixture. While I was there at Wal-Mart, I noticed they had some Tea Tree Oil and I remembered reading something about it but couldn't remember what I didn't care I bought some anyway, I was here and it was getting nastier out and I knew I would be stuck inside for a few days. I didn't see the Turmeric pills at first and I started to panic it was like dang gone it I drove out in this crap you all better have some, so I searched and searched and on the very bottom kind of slide back there they where. I dabbed me a bottle of them and by the way it was the only bottle left most becoming very popular around here. I came home took 2 right away and took the Tea Tree Oil and rubbed it on my boils and man does that stuff stink, thank god I am not out in public people would be telling me I need a bath. I had a couple of them break open but hardly anything came out of them.
Time for bed I took 2 more of the Turmeric Pills and I went and washed them again with antibiotic soap and doest the boils with the Tea Tree Oil and than put the heating pad on them.
Day 4 -9 did Turmeric and Tea Tree Oil regiment and used Heating pad at night
Day 10
They are all completely gone I am a firm believer in this now and Love the pills ;o)
Cream of Tartar

It seems that its the Cream of Tartar and not the cream of Tartar and Sulpher tablets. The boil on my hip has completly cleared up. The sting was out of it quite fast. But I felt a bit iffy while taking the Cream of tartar, but you generally feel yucky with a boil anyway. It seems to do the trick.
Fatback

Back in the late 70s, my family and I were living in middle Georgia and my daughter and I had somehow developed boils. Mine was on my armpit and my daughters was on her leg. I remember that year was a bad year for mites on our property and I wondered if we may have gotten bitten and infected by these critters. Anyway, I had heard that if you put "fatback" on the boil for 15 to 20 minutes that it would draw the boil to a head. It worked. I was able to squeeze the boil out and then saturate with peroxide. These things hurt really bad. Just know that it is really gross to squeeze these bad boys out but the relief is worth it.
EC: "Fatback is the layer of fat along the back of a pig, used as a cut of meat. It is often used to make lard. Fatback is a traditional part of southern U.S. cuisine and soul food, where it is used for cracklings or cracklins, and to flavor stewed vegetables such as greens and black-eyed peas. Many people enjoy eating strips of heavily salted and fried fatback, often referred to as streaked meat or streak-o-lean. Fatback was extremely popular in the South during the Great Depression because it is an inexpensive piece of meat. This dish is also widely eaten in Ukraine, where it is called salo."

I am a 58 year old female and have suffered with boils for as long as I can remember 30-40 years. About 3 years ago I complained about them to my doctor and she said they are caused by a staph infection in the nose. I was given a prescription for Mupirocin 2% Ointment with instructions to use a q-tip and swab it in my nose and to also apply it to the affected area 4 times daily...it works. I also bought Boil Ease over the counter which comes in a tube, this is used to help relieve the pain and that worked wonders because the pain of a boil is severe. I hope this helps someone.

Herpes most people think is sexual, but herpes is also shingles. I use a slice of raw onion on the boil I had one last yr. Cut a slice of raw onion and apply it to the boil and bandage it tight so it will come in contact with the boil, leave it on overnight and and it will draw out the infection onto the onion. Now you will have to get the core out or it will keep coming back. Do not squeeze the boil, that will drive the core down and infection. So instead stretch the skin out on both side and it will bring the core up, keep doing this until the core pops out. Make sure you clean the area two or three times a day and use the iodine to help keep it clean.
Ph Balancing and Clay Poultice for Boils

I am definitely alkalizing as it makes perfect sense. Also using turmeric, Celtic sea salt, and greens. Internal health may take time to achieve, but Ted's lemon/ ACV and baking soda really works for so many problems--quick too. ' I have boils for the first time. I have been mixing several teaspoons of bentonite clay with water, placing a glob over the boil and spreading it thickly over the surrounding area, then covering it all with gauze or a clean cloth. Last, I wrap securely with plastic. Keeps the area moist and the clay off sheets and clothes. This has worked wonders in only a day. Boils are no longer sore or swollen and the whole area is healing and drying beautifully. Change the poultice every 8-12 hours. I will keep it up for a week to make sure the infection is gone. Also will continue internal alkalizing. You do not have to spend a fortune on bentonite clay. I got mine on ebay from a company that sells it for fish ponds. It does keeps my pond water clear--probably for the same reason it heals people. Once on ebay search with words "clay koi" and that will bring you to a great inexpensive product-- 20 lbs of it! Thank you Earth Clinic, contributors, and especially Ted! Great info! Really helped me and others with so many problems! Liz
Ph Balancing and Clay Poultice for Boils
Posted by Liz (Scranton, Pennsylvania) on 03/15/2008
Hi Everyone,
I want to add some information to the post about the calcium bentonite clay poultices that I wrote here a week ago.
While reading further on the internet, I discovered someone who was mixing the clay with ten parts per million colloidal silver. After covering the boils he found a significant improvement overnight, and after four days of wearing the silver poultice the boil was gone and none have returned in three years. This individual explained the ionic exchange between the silver and the infection being much enhanced by the pulling effects of the clay.
Because the boil on my hand was so serious and spreading so quickly and deeply, I decided to continue with the clay and silver poultice instead of clay and water.
The difference was dramatic! Overnight the silver clay pulled the poison under the skin into a bubble-- like a second degree burn. I was at first alarmed because it looked worse than ever. Night after night I continued the silver clay poultice, wrapped in plastic and held in place with and elastic bandage.
AFTER ONE WEEK, THE INFECTION IS GONE! I also slugged a couple ounces of this silver a day to check anything that might have gone internal, but I believe the poultice really did the trick.
Of important note, my understanding is that MRSA staff reside inside the nose, so I bought the cheapest no-drip nasal spray medicine I could find and emptied the contents and cleaned it out thoroughly, sending filtered water through the spray system for 10 good pumps. Then I filled the bottle with colloidal silver, using this to get the silver inside my nose and sinuses. I rub my nose holes together to spread this completely. I guess this kills the staff where it is carried. Added bonus: stopped a cold in its tracks!
Word about colloidal silver: It is too expensive by the bottles. You can brew your own very cheaply by making a one-time investment in a good, plug-in, steady- current silver generator.
Do not use the battery operated kind. The silver particles are too large and clump together. Look on the internet. There are several good companies with good information (I have no financial interest in these companies).
I am just beginning to appreciate all the uses for silver in fighting pathogens. With a little creativity, there are so many effective treatments possible with this stuff.
Just like ACV and cayenne pepper, silver may be indispensable to maintaining good health in our world which is slowly poisoning itself and hell-bent on profit.
Thank you, Earth Clinic for letting me share this here. To anyone struggling with boils and MRSA, try the silver poultice. It looked as if my hand were being eaten off, but in one week, my skin looks like the infection never happened!

I have written before about a condition of fast-growing deep boils that were spreading over my hand. the main lesion was quite deep. To update: I continued using the bentonite clay mixed with colloidal silver for two weeks or so. The boils have not returned. What is of special note though is that there is NO scarring at all! The gentle drawing action of the clay combined with the antibacterial action of the silver were extremely effective at healing. The main boil was deep and I am quite amazed that there is no scar. My hand looks as if this had never happened. Liz
Draining a Boil

My wife had a large boil in her armpit. I really don't think you should do this unless you try some other treatments first. We tried some other treatments, but they didn't work. The boil had increased in size and become more painfull. I took alcohol and rubbed the area. I took a very, very sharp pointed knife and cut into the boil (had gloves on) and drained it. It was about the size of a quarter. There was lots of drainage. But in about a week it healed a lot. Another week and it was gone.
External Application of Turmeric

Having recently had my second Boil eruption in two weeks, after spending the first 46 years of my life being boil free, I knew that something wasn't quite right. I thankfully discovered this site and have used the powers of turmeric to successfully treat this second boil on my neck. The boil was red and angry when I started taking 1/2 tsp of turmeric 4 times a day. What I also did was make a paste that I applied topically. The paste was made with a Cetrimide ointment (branded as Savlon here in the UK) and turmeric powder. This paste was covered with a sticking plaster and changed twice a day. The results have been amazing. After three days the boil has completely drained and the skin has almost healed. What remains is what looks like the remnants of a love bite, but this is more due to some staining of the skin by the spice than any skin reaction. I don't know if it would have healed as well without the paste - but what I do know is that attacking the boil from within and from the outside has cleared the problem faster than I would ever have thought possible. Thank goodness for the internet!!
Drawing Salve
Posted by Vanessa (London, Uk) on 09/14/2009
The Distinction Between Black Salve and Black Drawing Salve:
Before purchasing black drawing salve, it is important not to confuse it with another herbal product with a very similar name: black salve. Black salve contains a powerful herb called bloodroot (Sanguinaria candensis). Bloodroot can burn skin tags and tumors off the surface of the skin, and has only limited value in treating topical skin disorders.
If used improperly, black salve can burn healthy tissue along with the affected tissue.
Many websites make a common mistake and use the two names interchangeably. To be certain that you're buying the topical ointment form used to treat splinters, look for the active ingredient, ichthammol or ichthyol, in the ointment.

My son has suffered from boils in the past and in our efforts to offer temporary relief and avoid unnecessary medical treatment, we applied local raw honey topically. After applying the honey, we covered each boil with a bandaid overnight. The results took about three days of application, but they were astounding in that it stopped the outbreak and healed them so quickly. Next time I think I'll try it with a dash of turmeric.
Preventing Reinfection

One thing everyone is overlooking is self reinfection. The use of short sheets like in the hospital need to be used and washed daily as do pillow slips, mattresses or any other surface like your couch, chair the boil could come in contact with needs to be sprayed daily with an antibacterial spray. Showers and tubs need to be sanitized after each use. Shower drains are the perfect place for the staph to multiple and become air born. I have been plagued with boils off and on for over a year. To keep the infection down I use ladies boxers and loose clothing. I also apply liquid antibacterial soap after my shower to a large area around the boil at first notice and let the soap dry on the skin, then apply a little antibacterial soap on a bandaid to cover it, this has kept the boils from enlarging, it speeds the healing process, just bathing in the soap does not help. When I was a child my mother used something called Green Soap on impetigo which is staph related and it was the only thing that cured it, but I have not seen it in pharmacies for years. Regular Antiboitics without steriods are virtually worthless.
Infared, 125 Watt Clear Lightbulb

to respond to the woman with the terrible boils. I suffer from horrific cystic acne. I discovered that if I eliminate all forms of hidden MSG [do an internet search to find all that it is in] that my skin is perfectly clear. I am so sensitive that I cannot even touch anything with citric acid or natural flavor which is a form of hidden MSG and is in most shampoos, liquid hand soap, prepared foods, pop etc. I convinced my husband to eliminate all hidden MSG and his headaches, ezcema and skin rash went away. Now when he has any exposure the itchy, weepy skin rash comes back and today it is back with a vengence. He had mustard on Sunday and it flared. By Monday evening it was drying up and he licked the spoon of the ice cream he served our children and during the night it erupted so bad he could hardly sleep.
A good rememdy for all these skin things is a 125 watt clear infrared bulb. Not only will this clear up the skin but is great for any aches and it healed my son of acute asthma. Asthma requires a one hour treatment 1-2 times daily or more. The more you use it the quicker it heals. The only draw back is having to stay stationary so long. My husband hasn't had time to sit under it the past two days so he is still in bad shape. He started on the vinegar and honey last night to see if a change in body pH will help.

A boil can also be the body's way of trying to get toxins out. Changing the diet to remove much of the sugars and processed foods and drinks can also help to prevent the boils forming in the first place. There are lots of people who have posted on here that removing the junk, sugars and refined carbs has made a big difference.

I do agree with the advice of clearing out the junk form Your diet. All refined processed food with and without any SOY in them, soy is a VERY major health problem, worse than sugar I think. But not consuming processed food is extremely important if you already have boils on your body. If they are there you may need to do an immediate diet change for your health. To eliminate chemicals and preservatives you must cook all food fresh, and try to eat grass fed beef and free range eggs, that is a beginning.

We wash our hands and the site of the boil. We use Hydrogen Peroxide to clean it and then With a steriled needle we break the head of the boil and drain it. we use the peroxide and it helps bubble the pus out. Its very painful. Afterward we put triple antibotic and a bandaid and it heals within days. if you catch it and drain in sooner than later it wont get so large. its very painful but you feel an instant relief after its drained.

I've experienced extremely painful boils/ acne-like, very hard but with no pus starting about 2 yrs ago. I am of average weight and have a healthy diet. I spent many, many months trying to pinpoint the source, doing lots of research. I did finally go to an allopathic nurse pracitioner who said it was impetigo (because they use yes/no answers on a computerized diagnosis program. WRONG! I believe that it's dermatitis herpetiformus, but I didn't want to go through a biopsy to confirm it. It only occurs when gluten is consumed (which is in just about everything packaged). It is exacerbated by hormonal cycles and low thyroid. I think that perimenopause has thrown off my hormone balance and has led to gluten intolerance. Here's what helps: stop consuming all grains and follow a diet for candida/yeast. This takes a long time, and it was really hard to do, but it is the only real solution I've found. (After finally healing and staying off flour for a year and a half, I had one slice of pizza, and it's deja-vu all over again). Topically, use niacinamide gel (Metazine from Life Link) very frequently (really helps reduce inflammation), salicylic acid gel, and yes, I use cortisone too. I think the niacinamide works best. Vit E is ok if not sourced from wheat. Taking massive supplements hasn't helped (like high doses of A, D, E, selenium, zinc, even up to 400mg CoQ10 -no response. I do use curcumin, wobenzym, niacinimide, colloidal silver. Thyroid supplementation has been a significant help. I have used real low doses of doxycycline for a very limited time and it did seem to help a bit but I stopped due to a reaction beginning. I used activated charcoal and it's possible that considering the link between wheat sensitivity, leaky gut or IgA deficiency, and the breakout a few days later, that it's the charcoal's work not the doxycycline that really helped at that time. Of course, maybe it's really from chemtrail fallout. Who knows? Whatever it is, it is HELL and the Metazine works wonders. Good luck.

Turmeric has a nasty taste, and putting it in chocolate milk doesn't help, I've been taking it for about 2 years now. But the ones I take is at Walmart don't know how pure it is though. I drink soy milk for hormone imbalance too. And I still get them recently allot on face but I think these are carbuncles....nothing is working but I think I wasn't taking enough turmeric I was taking 2 and got a turmeric more powerful supposedly and the bottle said 1 a day so I did. Started get these on my face, so I went back to 2 a day still getting them. I read that raisins everyday will keep them away so I'm trying that too. Been putting up with them for 6 years now after my period stopped, I went thru menopause early then allot of women. But ever since then I've been having them big ones at first not so big ones and none for a while. But now it's allot on my face and had 2 small one on my side.......I have tried allot of stuff seems to get rid of them.....I've been drinking soy milk for 4 years now........I take multi-vitamins, vitamin D, vitamin C, turmeric & nothing keeps them gone.....ARG.......

For those of you with boils or infections in difficult places such as mine, which is in the corner of my right eye and so difficult to treat with stronger methods, pouring tea tree oil (for example) into a bath and then holding your breath and submerging your face is the best method I have found for getting the stronger remedies onto the area without it getting into your eyes. If you wear contacts, I suggest you take them out before the bath. Keep a towel handy to wipe your face off after.

I am forever in your debt, thank you very very much for your post.
I moved to Japan 5 years ago and since then have been suffering the daily horrors of boils - mostly around my chin.
I tried your tips, both the oil from a crushed garlic clove, which neutralised the pain and over night a sliced clove applied to the boils.
Truly magical. I cant believe how quickly it works. It stings a little when you apply it, but if you can just grit your teeth and remember that the pain comes from the cleansing.
I've tried almost everything else; baking soda that cleansed the boil, but didn't seem to speed up the healing process greatly - an improvement but not much.
From my experience Garlic Oil and Cloves worked best for me.
Thanks again <3

One drop of Eucalyptus oil mixed with one opened Kyolic garlic capsule. After I applied this topically to my boil within 3 minutes my boil drained. I applied another application 3 hours later just to be sure it was completely drained and the boil was gone. Normally it takes twenty-five days for my boils to surface and drain, but because I have had them off and on for a year now I had to find something to make them stop as soon as I noticed them forming. I have been taking Keflex from the doctor and it did nothing. My boils kept coming back and in the same places and were very painful each time. I am so grateful to alternative methods.
