Turmeric and Comfrey

I had a boil for about 4 weeks and tried things that were recommended on webmd to no avail. Thankfully I remembered earth clinic. I combined several things that seemed to work for people and found that each day the boil decreased in size and after 3 days I discontinued treatment all together. I used a tsp of tumeric 3 x a day... Sometimes in yogart and sometimes in almond milk. I also used topically, a mixture that I made in my blender of tumeric and fresh comfrey w a little olive oil. You will need to put this on a large bandaid or gauze w cover as tumeric is very messy and will easily dye anything that touches it yellow. Good luck!

Juanita from Little Rock
Have you ever actually been tested for herpes, or is it your ego that has you convinced that it's only a boil? As someone who has suffered from both, it really sounds more like herpes than a boil. None of my boils have ever itched and the pre-sore tingle is the calling card of a herpes outbreak. L-Lysine is great for herpes, which is also why I think that you should listen to your doctor about the diagnosis.

It is coming up on three years that I have been getting Staph infections. I have been to numerous drs, including a dematologist and an infectious disease Dr. I felt like I was going to final get some answers from the ID dr, but all he did was listen, quite attentively I might add, and say sorry. He said he could get me another prescription for antibiotics if I needed it, but that was it. At the time I lived in San Jose, Ca and went to Stanford University to see the infectious Dr. He said MRSA (that's what I have) is rampant in the area. He has seen people like me who get infections, which last about 2 years and then they suddenly go away. He wasn't sure why there are some people who contract MRSA and can't get rid of it and my susceptibility to MRSA had nothing to do with my immune system. So go figure. Sorry I don't have answers, but I do use colloidal silver and it does help me.

Bottled (spring water) is acidic? Tap water has fluoride (a toxin.. Read your toothpaste label), peoples waste (medications), now they say rocket fuel(?), metals that the FDA has set the rates as being approved? Who trusts the FDA? Read your local water contents on it's web site. Then, you be the judge with what you want to put in your body. Best to filter your tap water before ingesting in the best way possible.

Do you drink enough water because you may have mrsa boils caused from your body being to acidic from not drinking enough tap water. I used to only drink bottled water. Bad choice its acidic if you dont believe me just get some water tests strips like I did and you will see the link. Mrsa cant live in an alkaline enviroment. Get your body alkaline no more boils! Study this. Very interesting.

Figs

I know that a lot of folks may think this is kind of crazy, but after reading all of the treatments that people posted for boils, one treatment that stood out was from the Bible. A fig poltice for boils (Hezikiah - 2Kings: 20:7)

I was desperate. I had what looked at first like a small pimple start next to my anal area that, after a few days, grew into a roaring, angry, large hard boil. This wasn't the first time I had been thru this. I had one in my armpit that had to be lanced when I was 17 years old, and one in the same general area as this one 2 years after my last daughter was born (that was 17 years ago - she is 19 now and in college).

Embarrased? OMG - You bet! Nothing worse than having to go to your doctor to have a boil lanced in the most embarrassing place you can imagine! I did NOT want to have to go thru that again! I scoured the Internet looking for remedies. Earth Clinic is a Godsend!

Someone had posted that in Biblical times they had suffered with boils and that God had instructed that figs be used for 3 days.

I'm here to say - it works!

Never in my wildest dreams did I EVER think I would place a slice of a raw fig over my boil. But I was desperate and can honestly tell you it works! It did take more than 3 days because I could only use the fig at night time. But today - the boil is just a small raised dot that causes me no pain and if it wasn't for the fact that I am OCD about keeping it covered and clean - I wouldn't even know it was there!

I'm posting because I prayed that God would bless me as he did Hezikiah, and that if He did, I would share my experience with others.

So please, if you are at your wits end - have tried it all and nothing is helping - give Gods remedy a try. I know it sounds crazy - but I am living proof that it works!

I have yet to try the bottle method; however, my mother and grandmother have used this method. According to them, you wait until the boil is to a head, heat the glass bottle in boiling water, take it out, dry off all hot water, put the mouth of the bottle over the head and allow the suction to do the work. They said you could see the head get larger and larger and then.... Explosion!

It sounds extremely effective to me; however, due to the location of my boil (earlobe), I used a turmeric/evco paste which worked famously! I thought I would end up in the hospital last night because my lobe was so swollen, hard, red, and hot. I am colonized with mrsa so I was afraid it would spread too rapidly handle on my own. I cut a small raw potato plug for my earhole and wore that during the day, then I applied the turmeric/evco paste, then before bed added raw manuka honey to the mix. When I woke up, I noticed my lobe is half the size it was yesterday and its not throbbing or hot anymore. I am so thankful for this site! I have been coming here for almost a year and I will keep coming back.

Hi Tommy, you said in your post: "I believe also that the natural healing will force these big pharma to look for new remedies. " I am not at all sure about that.... Look what is going to happen to us here in Europe, most natural stuff is going to disappear. Will big pharma be willing to take over? In many cases they have already but anyway, if they have to go through many trials, pay lots of money to certify each component I don't think that they will do it and it will take many years so in the meanwhile we will have hardly any choices!

Thanks for the nutmeg tip re pimples.

In Western medicine Syphilis is treated with Penicillin (usually via injection) unless there is an allergy to it then another antibiotic may be tried instead. Syphilis is caused by bacteria which is why penicillin works. Turmeric has also been proven in studies to be effective against bacteria's. In Ayurvedic medicine turmeric is used to treat syphilis, Chinese medicine has also historically used turmeric to treat syphilis. So it is not accurate to say syphilis is only treatable by antibiotics. I am in no way suggesting that you should treat syphilis at home, but there are alternatives especially for those who are allergic to antibiotics.

My husband was started on antibiotics as a teenager for acne and boils, yes he did get less boils and less acne but it never fixed the cause and he still got them. After some years and some side effects (and many $$$$) he stopped taking them and the boils ceased. As long-term or repeated use of Bactrim may cause a second infection, this is a documented side effect, plus other side effects, I wouldn't use it.

In Australia I know of no free antibiotics. One prescription (and we all know that for these conditions you need more than one) of antibiotics cost about $16 each. As we have not had them for years this info is from a friend who had them a couple of years ago. Turmeric is about $6 for 250grams, which will last a long time especially as you are taking only 1/2 - 1 teaspoon a day.

Turmeric has been proven so effective for many things that I believe a synthetic derivative has been created and is being studied for its effect on strokes.

Well said Lisa... Well said. While I totally agree with you, I will say that if anyone does have a very large (and hot to the touch) type of a boil, and feels generally very ill -then they should probably seek mainstream medical attention to be sure that they are not dealing with a serious sepsis / blood infection. (MO)

BUT - for people with average to large boils, who get them all of the time...

Taking tumeric (internally) daily at 1/2 tsp twice a day will stop them in their tracks within a week. Just read the turmeric section on here. It is TRUE - I am sold on turmeric for it's MANY healthy attributes.

To clarify - If you are in a crisis situation, err on the side of caution and go to the doctor...if not.... Take TURMERIC. Is it amazing stuff!

(Had to try out the now BOLD font! Love it! )

Best to you all. :-)

Hi and welcome in earth clinic,
I'm a pharmacologist and I can tell you that turmeric has a VERY POTENT activity against bugs like Salmonella and MRSA. If you need published papers just ask. Drugs like B-lactams will just suppress your TH1 immunity and give you candida.

People are mature and they can choose for themself. My health deteriorated since I took antibiotics as a child. I believe also that the natural healing will force these big pharma to look for new remedies.

Nurserynurse, I can appreciate that you came here to warn people about boil treatments but many of us look to natural remedies to heal us not just "get rid of" surface problems. I think we're all well aware that we can easily go to the Dr. and get a round of antibiotics (which by the way, are not cheaper than turmeric, especially if you have an East Indian market accessible to you) but we are also highly aware that antibiotics lead to a load of other problems that then need to be rectified.

As for a boil on the labia indicating syphilis- well, paleeze! I think that's pretty far fetched and a bit of hyperbole on your part. Not that it isn't a possiblity but I have had them there and certainly, I know I didn't and don't have syphilis.

Turmeric is a highly effective herb that is being studied right now by the scientific and medical community for what has always been known in the Ayurvedic community and Chinese medicine as well.

So, basically you're giving us advice that the mainstream medical world gives and most of us here are pretty fed up w/ that standard. I think the majority of us who frequent this site do our research and have found a place that we have learned tremendous information regarding cures that we would not otherwise be aware of. Those who would look to your type of advice would be going to the mainstream medical profession.

If you have a boil, especially a large boil, go to the doctor! To the person who says she can feel the boil popping up from her labia, you should really see a gynocologist because it shounds like you may have Syphillis and that is only cureable by antibiotics in the first 2 stages.

As for the other large boils, especially in hairy places where legs, faces, or other places are being shaved, try using salisylic acid moisturizer before shaving, and a few hours after shaving, but do not use on mucous membranes. Salisylic acid helps to disolve dirt in clogged pores. Also, Tumeric is not as effective as Nutmeg and non-fat milk paste for those unsightly pimples. Tea Tree Oil is good at times.

But if the boil is due to a staph infection maybe you should see a MD for longterm use of Bactrim as long as you are not allergic to sulfa you should be o. K. Motrin helps with pain as long as you don't have kidney disease or ulcers, briefly using Hydrocortisone cream helps with redness and swelling but can cause drying. I think using oil would only exacerbate the clogged pores.

GO TO THE DOCTOR AND GET REAL MEDICATION TO HELP WITH THE CHRONIC BOIL PROBLEMS PEOPLE! Some antibiotics are free from certain pharmacies or cost much less than buying Tumeric.

A small pimple turned out into a large boil and I wanted to just let everybody know that do not try to do a home remedy-especially when the boil gets bigger. I had tried to put hot paper towels and compress them on the boil and also put 91% Alcohol to dry out the boil however; it was getting larger than a golf ball. Finally, I went in the emergency and had them lance it and drain the pus and turned into a staff infection. The boil was on my bikini line!!! Of all things where I shave on a consistant basis-this time got infected-next time I will clean with alcohol. Now I know why men use aftershave-it has alcohol in it. I just knew that if it wasn't getting better that there was immediate attention and not to take chances and allow your body to heal with that big of boil to pop on its own is crazy and also taking chances with getting admitted into the hospital. Please go to a doctor, it can be very deadly and also, if you have diabetes, more severe chance of recovery. I don't have diabetes however; was worried when they tested me for it instantly. I am on Kfex and some other antibiotic including a pain reliever.

It's amazing! I went to the doctor on Wed to look at a painful place that was the size of a pea and getting bigger and more uncomfortable. It is in a delicate place and I've never had anything there like it before. Doc gave me antibiotics and told me to put warm compresses on it. Not much better in 24 hours and I remembered Earth Clinic.

Got on here yesterday and found the info about turmeric. I had some in my spice cabinet so I put a tsp in some water and drank it twice during the day. I also made a thick paste from turmeric, grapeseed oil (which I happened to have) and several drops of tea tree oil. I put the paste on around 7 pm. By the time I went to bed, the swelling was down and the pain almost gone. I just woke at 3am and it had opened and started draining blood and pus. Completely amazing. I never squeezed it at all and it was pretty deep below the surface. I just can't believe it. At this rate, I expect it to be completely gone within days. I had one other boil over 30 yrs ago and it took a couple weeks before it was back to normal. Thank you, thank you, thank you Earth Clinic and everyone that has shared their personal experiences here.

I do agree with the advice of clearing out the junk form Your diet. All refined processed food with and without any SOY in them, soy is a VERY major health problem, worse than sugar I think. But not consuming processed food is extremely important if you already have boils on your body. If they are there you may need to do an immediate diet change for your health. To eliminate chemicals and preservatives you must cook all food fresh, and try to eat grass fed beef and free range eggs, that is a beginning.

Foods to Avoid
Posted by Alib (Swansea, Wales, Uk) on 12/04/2010

Yes, but is it really the chocolate and the peanuts - or what they usually come with? Candy bars contain a huge quantity of carbs and sugars - often high-fructose corn syrup - something the body definitely will want rid of. Peanuts can sometimes contain aflatoxins and the body doesn't want those either!

Figs
Posted by Alib (Swansea, Wales, Uk) on 12/04/2010

I agree with this. The boils and acne are the body's way of trying to get rid of stuff it doesn't want. Coconut oil will help to keep your skin soft and supple and you can wash your hair with a solution of baking soda (half to one teaspoonful in an egg cup or so amount of hot water, stirred) then after rinsing it off, give a final rinse with a dribble of ACV in some warm water. The vinegar makes it soft and shiny. The smell will go off pretty quickly, but I usually give another quick rinse after the vinegar with plain water, and my hair is still soft.

Epsom Salt
Posted by Alib (Swansea, Wales, Uk) on 12/04/2010

A boil can also be the body's way of trying to get toxins out. Changing the diet to remove much of the sugars and processed foods and drinks can also help to prevent the boils forming in the first place. There are lots of people who have posted on here that removing the junk, sugars and refined carbs has made a big difference.

I now won't put anything on my body that I can't eat. I use coconut oil as a deodorant. It works very well and lasts all day. Some people use bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) too mixed to a paste and rubbed under the armpits. You can mix coconut oil and Baking Soda together and that will work too. Mind you, since following a very healthy low-carbohydrate diet the last three years with only occasional sugar or fruit, my body has been detoxing so well that I rarely if ever actually get any odour any more. How strong you pong very much depends on what you put in your mouth....

I have successfully drained two painful boils/large pimples (one was a MRSA staph boil) by mixing homemade colloidal silver with bentonite clay powder and making a poultice of it between layers of medical gauze. I covered it with breathable medical tape overnight and when I woke up, the boil/pimple had drained to near completion. I also continued the poultice throughout the day, and by evening, it had drained completely. The pus was gone and new skin was showing where the drainage was previously coming out. Between dressings I used hydrogen peroxide to clean the boil and the area surrounding it. In my opinion, this is the best way to drain a boil/large pimple as it doesn't require any pressure or squeezing, which often causes scarring.

The MRSA boil was on my face and was the size of a silver dollar. My doctor told me that I would likely have a large pock-mark or scar on my face. It has been a little over a month, and you can't even see where the boil was. I'm thankful for the internet, as this is how I discovered the Colloidal Silver/Bentonite Clay treatment. I'm just passing along my experience for others. Blessings to you all!

I had a quick-growing boil, so I searched this site for how to get rid of it. I tried drinking turmeric, but it was pretty difficult (although I will say that mixing it with chocolate milk wasn't so bad). But I saw that you could make a paste with honey and turmeric (I used equal parts) and rub it directly on the boil. I did this, and it immediately started shrinking. I highly recommend this treatment!

Bacon

Omg I swear by the bacon. I've had this boil in a pretty delicate spot for a week now. It hurt so bad I could hardly sit, or even walk. I'm a baby when it comes to pain, but I was really resisting the urge to take a kitchen knife and just rip it open. My mother-in-law told me to put a piece of bacon fat directly on the boil and then cover it with a slice of potato and leave it there. I really thought she was nuts, so I went online looking for information on how to lance a boil and stumbled on this site. I saw that other people suggested it, so I thought I'd give it a try. You know, I sat on a heating pad for days and tried to lance it... None of it worked, it didn't even soften up.

I put the bacon on it (the fattiest piece I could find), and I swear on everything that within an hour it had developed a head, and in less than an hour and a half it was draining. I decided to leave it on overnight, and now it's almost completely gone and I am free of pain. I know it sounds like a ridiculous idea, but seriously, try it for a day or two (leave the bacon on as long as possible). I wish I'd known about it days ago.

Boil Treatment Warnings

Luckyseattlegirl, boils generally ARE staph infections! It's not an either/or issue. Not all staph is the same, though, and that's how MRSA come into it. Here's what the Mayo Clinic says:

"Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection is caused by a strain of staph bacteria that's become resistant to the antibiotics commonly used to treat ordinary staph infections. "

So-- you can have a boil which is caused by the "normal" staph bug, or be unlucky enough to get one caused by an antibiotic-resistant strain. Meanwhile, I've had great success over the past year with turmeric. I generally use capsules from a vitamin co. in the Midwest whose name begins with S. -- however, I love turmeric in FOOD, and try to cook with it when I can (Indian cuisine). My boils are on my chin area, usually-- I always thought they were just a different kind of adult acne. Turmeric knocks them out in a day or two-- before that, they used to linger for up to a month!

I had a painful boil where my leg meets my tush for over a week and it wasn't improving with Neosporin & bandaid and warm compresses, etc. It seemed to be getting worse with the current treatment.. It was was hard, red, and very very sore when I sought alternative treatments. I read that Turmeric can be helpful with boils and was skeptical, but willing to try anything that might ease the pain. I picked up Turmeric tablets (500 mg) and took 2 immediately. The next morning the boil was softer and not as red. The next day, I took two tablets in the morning and two in the evening. Today when I woke up, there was no pain and no redness. I still applied nesporin and a band aid (just as a precaution). I'm pretty sure the infection is gone and that the skin is just healing at this point. I can now sit in comfort.

If a boil comes to a head it can be lanced with a sterile needle. Don't squeeze. Dress the open wound with Boracic Ointment on gauze. This will draw out the infected matter; it's also good for splinters you can't reach with tweezers but the skin must be broken.

EC: From our internet research, boracic ointment was used to treat wounds in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Here's a recipe we found:
http://chestofbooks.com/food/household/Work-Management/The-Toilet-Continued.html

Boracic Ointment

I ounce vaseline or lard (if not for facial use), 2 dessertspoonsful of finely powdered borax or boracic acid. If lard is used it should be freed from salt, but if this is the basis the ointment will not keep good for long, as lard quickly becomes rancid. Mix the powder and the fat until the borax is thoroughly incorporated. Place in a jar, using a knife dipped into boiling water to render the surface smooth and even.

For those of you with boils or infections in difficult places such as mine, which is in the corner of my right eye and so difficult to treat with stronger methods, pouring tea tree oil (for example) into a bath and then holding your breath and submerging your face is the best method I have found for getting the stronger remedies onto the area without it getting into your eyes. If you wear contacts, I suggest you take them out before the bath. Keep a towel handy to wipe your face off after.

For years I have used Hydrogen Peroxide for my boils. I soak a cotton balls or a gauze pad in HP and place it directly on the boil and then secure with tape and leave overnight. I repeat this for a couple nights and then the opening to the boil stretches open and a dry-cottage-cheese-type substance with a horrendous smell gets pushed out. This method seems to discolor the skin of the area red but seems to fade over the next year or so but the best part of this treatment seems to be that there is little or no core left over under the skin. When there is a core left over the boil seems to recur eventually. The ones I have used this treatment on have never recurred on me.

5-04-10, Ben, down at the health food store, was in pain last Tuesday at work and had difficulty walking...he had developed a large boil on the top of his big toe (about the diameter of a mans thumb)...he asked me what I would do...I suggested soaking in H2O2 might help...use the cheap 3% HP...I saw him today and he said he had gotten the 3% HP and soaked his toe in it full strength for about 5 minutes in the evening about 10pm...the next morning he was at work and felt wetness in his shoe...the boil was draining...his pain was relieved and he said now it was all gone (about 4 days later)...so, the HP appears to have caused drainage in about 12 hours...he said he hadn't squeezed the boil or anything at all because he didn't want to aggravate it...the only thing he had done was the HP....I was surprised it worked so well...I know that HP will kill Staph if enough HP is used...the study I saw was a ratio of 500 HP to 1 Staph...I reasoned the only way HP might help him was if he soaked the boil in the HP so enough HP might be absorbed into the boil to have an effect...don't know if it would work for others, but sure did for him...he was very pleased...he now has an internet connection, so I suggested he study up on Turmeric at Earth Clinic so he could keep the staph under control, because, although the HP worked on his toe, he might get boils in areas of the body where it would be difficult to soak the boil for 5 minutes or so (like in an armpit or on the face)...but, topical application might work in those areas by putting on a thick gauze soaked in HP on it and covering with plastic to keep it wet overnight...don't know for sure...might be worth a try.

Boil Outbreak Theories

Patricia: Tune once in a while the program at Animal Planet "monsters inside me" or TLC's "Mystery Diagnosis", you'll be surprised how many parasites are out there. Doctors are aware of these little monsters. It takes them a while to diagnose but they (doctors) do. Parasites are not mumbo jumbo, they are a reality.

The only parasite you can see with a microscope is malaria. I don't like all the parasite talk on natural health websites - it makes doctors think natural cures are all mumbo jumbo.

Activated Charcoal

My two year old son has had recurring boils in his buttcrack ( sorry, but that's where they are :) ) - anyways, previously we have used the heated bottle method with good results. However, this time it only released a little bit of fluid with that method...it just kept getting bigger and bigger even with turmeric applied to it. He couldn't sit down and his little butt cheek was all purple. Doc's office was closed for the weekend, so I hurried to the health food store, desperate for some help and the lady suggested Activated Charcoal - it was sold in capsules.

I wet piece of gauze, opened the capsule and sprinkled a decent amount across the bandage (it needs to be damp to work, so make sure the gauze is significantly damp so it won't dry out quickly). That usually takes about 1/2 the capsule.

Then I dump the rest of the capsule into a little bowl of yogurt so he can eat it.

I have him eating the yogurt/charcoal mix 2x a day (morning and night) and changing the charcoal bandage about 3x a day (the health food store lady advised every 2 hours, but bandage changes were a little traumatic for my guy, so 3x a day it was) I think the main idea is you want a consistently damp bandage, so a fresh one ensures that.

Anyways, after 24 hours, his huge boil (biggest one he's experienced) burst - I mean, really, hours later, the stuff won't stop coming out...I will ALWAYS keep this stuff on hand now. Also said to work for bug bites, rashes, etc - pulls the poisons right out of the skin. It's not completely eradicated right now, as it just burst this evening, but I just applied more charcoal before he went to bed, so I'm certain it will be completely gone within a few days. It is amazing the improvement in just 24 hours.

side note: charcoal has no flavor, so is REALLY easy to get a toddler to eat - especially mixed in a creamy something - like pudding or yogurt. However it is BLACK and stains REALLY bad, so I literally just spoon feed it too him myself - he thinks it's cool to watch the yogurt turn black...lol...although chocolate pudding would make it easy too. Do all your bandage preparation over a papertowel or plate, or you'll have black countertops!

Recurring Boils

Recurent boils has a name!

Hi everyone, i just had to share this with you, because it took me years to put a name on these inner thigh boils i kept having. It is called hidradenitis suppurativa! It is a rare disease. Actually, it is not so rare, it just goes undiagnosed because of the places it's in and ignorance of doctors. Please look it up and see if this is what you have. Unfortunately i could not find any cure, but the simple thing that helped me was not to touch it: no epilation, no underware (the friction brings them on). Also hot baked onion used locally makes the puss collect. Good luck

I have been researching manuka honey and it is supposed to be very good for many different things. I bought manuka honey but later found out it had to have a rating of 16 to be a medicinal honey. Be sure to check the rating before buying.

L, what you describe sounds like something my mother had. It turned out to be a shingles outbreak on her face... it even took traditional doctors a while to diagnose since shingles usually appears on the torso.

Nic's Turmeric Recipe

I discovered a boil on the face of my healthy 9 month old daughter. She is our fifth child and I had never seen this on any of the other children.

I identified it quickly and responded the first day with tea tree oil. To my surprise, it continued to grow.

Day two, I applied colloidal silver about 6 times per day. But, by that evening, I could see the boil was steadily multiplying. One boil was now four. One 1/4" round and the others about 1/16th".

Day three I found your website and was intrigued by the turmeric treatment. I created my own recipe that went like this:
2 T coconut oil
2 T turmeric
10 drops tea tree oil
10 drops oregano oil
10 drops colloidal silver
1 opened capsule acidophilus
1 opened capsule 2,000 IU Vit.D3

I applied this very potent, messy paste to her boils (and put her in some older clothes we didn't care about).

By the end of the day I noticed all growth had stopped.

Day four, the healing was obviously underway. All of the boils began to heal over, the smaller ones nearly diminishing.

Day five, I applied the paste only at night.

By morning, I could see only a mark where the largest one had been and very faint marks where the smaller ones had been.

All total, I applied the paste for 3 days with excellent results!

Thank you for the invaluable website!

Turmeric, Garlic

I am clueless when it comes to converting measurements but...it doesn't sound like you are taking enough turmeric. Up to 1 teaspoon/day, I take 4-7 "0" size capsules a day. This keeps them away until I slip up (usually on a weekend) and don't take then one will come up. I start taking up to 7 capsules and within 2-3 days it is gone.

I make my own because store bought ones have too many fillers. I just use the spice out of the spice aisle though now ordering online because I use so much. Also when you make a paste just use straight turmeric and water, no need for anything else.

Turmeric, Garlic

Turmeric worked for me. I had an open sore (later discovered to be MRSA) on my cheek, which I thought I had gotten from either rugby (a finger nail scratch), or a scratch from something picked up in sub aqua diving in the ME. Anyway, I tried everything to clear this up (at one point I even convinced myself I had coeliac disease). What eventually did work was one teaspoon of turmeric 'mix' 3 times a day. Basically my mix was a heaped tsp turmeric powder dissolved in a tsp of virgin coconut oil. To complement this I took a tsp of black peppercorns (this catalyses everything and makes it more efficacious). After 10 days there was no sign of any sore what-so-ever. Seriously, turmeric is the business. No question.
