My 4 year old has regular chalazions. I notice that he is more likely to get them when he eats or drinks certain milk products. What I do now, is give him probiotics when I give him milk products. I also give him fermented cod-liver oil daily. These two combined has really helped him.

When he has an actual chalazion, I give him colodial silver and a children's echinacea for his immune system. This has helped decrease the time that the chalazion stays on his eye.

Re your comment about "being too late" when treating a long-term chalazion: I had one for about four months and didn't do anything about it until another occurrence started forming over the existing one. I started with ACV and compresses but the lid swelled and got MUCH worse.

I switched to castor oil and compress, and within two days the new bump was gone, and now another day later the old bump is 90% gone as well.

Castor oil will be my primary treatment if I ever get another one of these buggers.

For me I was diagnosed on Monday, and cured by Friday: I stayed in for a few days so as to have constant access to a kettle for the very hot water, and just took it easy, applying the hot apple cider vinegar compresses at least 3 times a day, cutting out sugar, and drinking Apple Cider Vinegar in water (amount specified in the post above), plus the hot tea bags directly over the lid for 2-3 minutes at a time. Keen to hear if this works for anyone else.

Hi everyone, I was fed up from getting continuous chalazions not until I took your regimen and tried it. I must say that I have spent around 1500 dollars removing them surjically. But I tried the vinegar part and oh my God it is disappeariing day by day.

However, I soak an ear pad the one you clean your ear with and apply it directly to the chalazion. It stings for a while but after that it sort of pulls the pus in the chalazion and allows it to float on top of it forming a head. From here the chalazion oozes and become smaller and smaller each day. I apply Garlic Vinigar on it not apple cider. Anyhow I think any form of vinigar will work.

Thanks so much for this as my chalazion is disappearing thanks to you ;)

Allergy Drops
Posted by Renee (NC) on 07/16/2022

There seems to be some confusion on which eye drops to use. My husband just saw an eye doctor about a chalazion. The key to selecting the right eye drop is to get one specifically for allergies. The doctor gave us samples of a prescription allergy eye drop called Alrex. I just searched online and quickly found two over-the-counter natural allergy eye drops: Similasan Allergy Eye Relief and Opcon-A Allergy Eye Drops by Bausch & Lomb.

Also, be aware of that if you've already been using a prescription antibiotic eye ointment, there's a good chance you've developed an allergy to it and you need to stop using it and get an allergy-relief eye drop. (This was my husband's case.)

I also love the activated charcoal suggestion. I have inexpensive capsules that can be opened up and used with distilled water to form a poultice.

One last thing, regarding the suggestions for using various oils, I develop styes any time oils get near my eyes, including castor oil, flaxseed oil, etc., so oils may not be good for all of us.

I whole-heartedly believe it was the diluted ACV drink that began the healing process for my chalazion on the left eye margin (bottom rim of eye). Since June I've been drinking diluted ACV on and off, not daily, just when I remember to. On a regular basis 3-4 times a week though, I've been using diluted ACV as a facial toner to swipe on my face with a cotton ball. As I do this, my eyes are closed and swipe where the lids meet with the ACV cottonball. Use one side of the cottonball for one eye, then the other side for the other. This is a precaution to keep from contaminating one or the other eye if one is infected with anything.

There is no more exterior trace of the chalazion. The only evidence I see is a tiny, darker pink spot in the interior side of the lower lid where the chalazion had been.

Take care not to overdue with soaking the cottonball, the ACV will sting if it gets into your eye--the cottonball shouldn't be sopping wet. Just one quick swipe across each eye, and then tone the rest of your face with the cottonball.

Oh yes! Start taking supplements that will help you maintain eye health.

Update on my chalazion situation: I believe my main problem is acidosis. I just had a bout of pink eye, only recovering now, and consuming more alkalizing foods has made a significant difference in my visible health.

When I had a breakout of eczema last year, I can probably attribute it to pH imbalance, over doing on the alkalizing though.

After reading about castor oil on this site, I had to try it, as it removed warts on my fingers as a child... I bought the castor oil on Saturday, applied it once then, once Sunday, and once so far today, on a cotton pad, covered with a warm gel eyemask, and a heating pad. When I got out of the shower today, the chalazion, which was birthed in December, was 3/4 gone. Props to castor oil.

Clay My Process for Treating Chalazion/ Eye bump

1. What Worked for Me: I used Indian clay mask, which I had on hand. While I would have preferred bentonite clay for its medicinal properties, the Indian clay did the trick. I mixed it with a bit of water to achieve a medium-thick paste. Each night, before bed, I applied this paste to my entire eyelid, though I think targeting just the bump would have sufficed. Sometimes, I even used it as a face mask!

In the morning, I gently removed the clay with a clean cotton pad soaked in comfortably warm water (instead of a warm compress, which had previously irritated my eye). After removing the clay, I used a tightly wound Q-tip—avoiding the fuzzy kind—to apply apple cider vinegar (ACV) directly to the bump. I poured a little ACV into a separate container for this purpose. I followed this routine for about a week, noticing improvement within three days and significant reduction in the bump by days five to six. Although I can no longer see the bump, I plan to continue for a day or two for good measure.

As a note, I'm a melanated (dark-skinned) African American woman, I say this because it is harder to notice discoloration on my skin due to my complexion and I did observe some slight discoloration on my eyelid from the ACV, so be mindful of potential discoloration and irritation especially if you are a lighter complexion.

2. My Logic: From my understanding, a chalazion is caused by trapped oils in the eyelid that fail to exit through the eyelashes. I found that many others reported success with ACV, which I imagined might dry out the oils causing the chalazion. While ACV alone was slightly irritating for me, combining it with the clay seemed effective.

3. My Experience with a Chalazion

I decided to try a clay mask over the bump on my eyelid. My logic was that clay is often used for acne because it can clear toxins and absorb excess oils. Since the skin is a large organ capable of both expelling and absorbing substances, I thought the clay might help with any trapped oils or bacteria. While I can't say for sure if my hypothesis was correct, I can say that the bump on my lid has vanished!

4. Backstory: One morning, I noticed a small bump on my upper right eyelid, about the size of a grain of rice. Thankfully, it was on my lid and not my eye, and there was no pain or irritation. After researching, I discovered it was likely a chalazion, as described in a YouTube video by a doctor. He suggested that if the bump was less than a week old, it might resolve on its own with warm compresses and gentle massaging. However, that didn't work for me.

I then sought out another video that explained the correct way to massage the eyelid—from the brow down toward the eyelashes. While this method made sense, it still didn't help. Feeling frustrated, I turned to Earth Clinic and saw many people had success with apple cider vinegar (ACV), but I didn't see much improvement with that either. It was at this point I decided to try the clay mask, as previously mentioned.

While I continued using ACV on a Q-tip for the bump, I eventually stopped for the last three days, as it seemed the clay was the primary factor in my improvement.

Summary of Thoughts:

1. The clay mask was the most effective treatment for me, more so than the ACV.

2. I believe bentonite clay might have been even more effective due to its known medicinal properties, but the Indian clay worked well enough.

3. Toward the end of the week, I mixed the vinegar with the clay mask and water, which seemed to enhance the results.

4. I also tried using witch hazel once instead of vinegar, but I switched back to ACV for consistency, so I can't draw any conclusions about that.

Conclusion: Navigating health issues can often feel isolating, but it's important to remember that you're not alone. Many people are facing similar challenges, and sharing our experiences can help others. I'm not a doctor, but I wanted to share what worked for me in hopes it may help someone else. If you've read this far, thank you for sticking with me!

Just want to share my continuing success with using a cotton ball lightly soaked with apple cider vinegar (with “the mother”) to cure my upper eyelid chalazion: held directly onto the closed eyelid for about 10 minutes 2x a day. Nothing else seemed to be working but in only 3 days my chalazion is softening and diminishing with the acv.

Regarding the chalazion that's been there (on the upper eyelid) for 3 months:

I have found that a Tea Tree Antiseptic Cream or Tea Tree Oil Ointment works best for this problem. These both have a very low percentage of actual Tea Tree Oil, so they are both safe to use around the eyes. The problem is usually cleared up within 2 or 3 days with multiple daily applications of the treatment.

Reply to bpang (fairfax, VA):

I applied the TTO ointment to the complete eyelid (actually both eyelids) a couple of times a day (it does not need to be a thick coating- just enough to cover the area) and certainly when going to bed to let it work overnight. I found it might sting slightly as it acted on the infection but that only occurred on the first application and only lasted a few minutes at most and indicated to me that it was indeed attacking the infection. I continue to use the TTO ointment and TT antiseptic cream interchangeably for any eye, ear, nose, and other skin irritation with great results. In all these situations the problem issue is resolved within a day or two.

Hope this helps.

I have found lots of success using activated charcoal and bentonite clay along with press n seal to keep the poultice on where ever my issue might be. Using either one or both is good for reducing inflammation and pain as well as drawing out the infection.

AC can be bought in capsule form usually at the local drug store. A binder is always needed with it. Bentonite Clay also can be bought in capsule form but might be easier to find online. When ever I use a poultice I try and change it every few hours.

I am suffering from a chalazion for about a month now. It started as a stye which got healed with meds but the chalazion remained. It is inside my left lower lid. I have tried homeopathy but it doesn't seem to be making much of a difference. Have gone to the eye doctor but he only gave me antibiotic drops and ointment which stopped the infection but didn't reduce the chalazion.

I have been doing warm compresses with salt. The chalazion gets small after the compresses but returns to its original size within a few minutes of the compresses. I have read about sea salt compresses and just started with. Not sure if it would help! Also started applying organic hexane free castor oil on the skin outside of the chalazion and light massages.

My chalazion keeps changing shape and consistency. Sometimes it's soft and sometimes it gets a little hard. But when I massage it with castor oil it's size decreases considerably for an instant and almost becomes flat but gets back its shape soon.

Has anyone else experienced this? I need some help please.

I'm desperately needing to remove a chazalion under my eyelid, tried everything including spending so much money with the eye doctors, it is still there 9 months later and not popping at all and irritating me a lot, I will like to try this castor oil, how do I use it?

Hi

Thank you for your post. I was just wondering how you are getting on. I had a chalazion the size of a pea last September. It kept growing, so I opted for surgery. It's been nearly six months and my eyelids still a bit swollen. How did it take your eyelid heal after the first surgery? Did it ever go back to normal?

Sorry to disturb you. Look forward to hearing from you.

Bob W. This happened to me. I was not astute enough to realize it.

I went in to renew. Put my face in position. I could not see the screen. I repositioned my face several times. They passed me. But I have no idea what I read. I do not think anything. The tester was abrupt.

Took the drivers portion and passed. Went home and began having problems. Eyes were goopy. Strange breakouts. Feeling off for quite awhile. Eyebrow bumps.

I knew there was a problem with the viewer but did not realize it was an ongoing thing until I read your post. It all makes sense now. This eye and nasal sores, mostly inside nose keeps reoccurring. Whatever was on that thing blinded me somewhat for a short time. Who knows what I picked up.

Thanks for posting.

Hi so I had a chalazion and it was there for about 2 weeks because as soon as I got it I started doing warm compresses and prior to this particular chalazion I had 2 different styes within a month that went away within like A week and had a little pimple head so they could pop easily. But with the chalazion that I just had I was frustrated because it wouldn't seem to get any better :( and the only thing that truly worked was castor oil!! And I'm so happy I found that it works good because with out it I would feel very insecure because of this huge bump on my eye.

So to all those who want to get rid of a chalazion listen to these steps!

Okay so first you're gonna want to get epsom salt, chamomile lavender tea (or green tea), then you're gonna want to buy 100% castor oil (I purchased mine off of iherb.com)

Now, you're gonna want to bring water to a boil in a pan and pour epsom salt in it (stir to dissolve) then get your tea bag and put it in there.

Next grab your tea bag out of the water and put it close to ur eye and open ur eye and let the steam get into your eyelid pores, then once cooled down make it a compress and hold on eyelid till cold (repeat process) and then put Castor oil all over the bump and on eyelashes.

Also STAY AWAY FROM APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. it will only make things worse. :) also it's good to sleep with a cotton ball dipped in castor oil taped to ur eye! Take my advice and get rid of this problem!

First, I would like to say sorry to all those that are struggling with a chalazion. Not only are they very concerning, but it may sometimes take a toll on your self esteem. I hope this works for you as it did for me.

I had a chalazion for about 4 months the size of a pea. Sometimes it would go down - sometimes it would get bigger... All in all it just wasn't going away like I thought it would with just warm compresses and salt water rinses.

I looked up a few home remedies I was comfortable with trying. The best thing that worked for me were these steps

1. Warm compresses 2 times a day (heated uncooked rice in clean socks, with a little bit of water for moisture. Microwave for 15-20 seconds, leave rice sock on my eye for 10-15 minutes.)

2. After warm compress I gently wash both eyes using my pinky using a baby body wash (the yellowish/orange bottle) make sure to wash with very warm water and massage throughout.

This made my chalazion go away within weeks. Along with discontinued use of smoking cigarettes and cutting down on dairy. Who knows what truly causes a chalazion, each individual is different but when you're down and out there's nothing that you won't try, so please give this a try.

Update: two months later my chalazion came back. Because I went back into my bad habits (ie: sleeping late, smoking cigarettes, and consuming large amounts of dairy) my chalazion is now the same size as it was before it completely flattened drained and went away. I am currently following the same routine as I mentioned up there ^^ but using apple cider vinegar "with mother" - and my chalazion has already came to a white head! its only been 2 days... With being a white head now i think it is on its way to draining with just another couple of weeks with warm compresses with rice sock and baby shampoo + no dairy and cigarettes.

I hope this works for anyone out there suffering from this terrible chalazion business. Stay strong and don't give up trying to rid yourself of the chalazion. Surgery should be your absolute last option.

Hi, my daughter is turning 5 next month and has been having a chalazion on her left upper eyelid. It's been about 3 months now. First, it was the size of a pimple and her paediatrician said to just leave it. Then after 2 months it looked swollen so we took her to a paediatric opthomologist who recommended surgery. Took her to 3 other opthomologist who said you just leave it and they gave us antibiotic drops. It's grown since then! I'm doing hot compress, washing her eyelid with baby shampoo and just started using Epsom salt in warm water. It looks like it's about to pop. Will try ACV tomorrow. I really don't want to put her through surgery!

Apple Cider Vinegar, Hot Compress
Posted by Jewels (Ny, Ny) on 06/24/2015

First off I would stop with the massaging. If you feel it will help I would do it after you've applied castor oil to the area. I had what I thought was a stye about a week and a half ago. After the first four or five days the swelling went down and the pain went away leaving me with the bump that I discovered is a chalazion. I immediately found natural remedy sites and all of them discuss the apple cider vinegar compresses. I am drinking it (1tbsp in 8 oz. of water) twice a day as well. Additionally after each compress I do which is about 3 times per day I don't necessarily wipe off the apple cider vinegar but I follow up with leaving a layer of castor oil on my lid. I tried some light massage tonight but the castor oil helps you not irritate the skin. The pea sized ball has gone down significantly since starting this regime which I have been doing for about 4-5 days. All the sites I have read over and over state to continue this until it's gone which has time frames that vary. I also have not been wearing any eye makeup at all during this process. Keep at it! It seems it works! Just don't massage your eye without the castor oil.

While this is not a natural cure, I can attest that it absolutely works. I suffered from a chalazion for over 4 months & had basically tried every single treatment to fix it that I could possibly find on the internet with no avail. I came across a tube of Fluocinonide .5mg in my drawer when looking for something else, it is a steroid cream. I put a Tiny dab of that cream on the chalazion with a clean Q-tip three times a day and I also used over the counter dry eye drops 3 to 5 times a day. The giant chalazion was gone in less than two weeks. I was thrilled to call the eye dr and cancel the surgery.

Treatment Protocol

I had a large Chalazion that required a lot of effort to get it to heal naturally. It started off looking like a small sty 6 weeks ago, but eventually looked like I had a very large pea under my top eyelid. It was extremely embarrassing.

After seeing my opthalmologist and searching all over the internet for natural remedies for Chalazia, I tried many of the recommendations. Then 3 weeks ago I discovered a combination of remedies that worked wonderfully for me. As of today, the Chalazion appears to be completeley gone!!! If I press on the eyelid I do still feel a tiny bump. So, I'm going to continue with my treatment until the bump is gone.

I thought I would share the treatment that has been working for me in case there are other people who are also suffering with a particularly nasty and stubborn Chalazion.

I should admit... I had to be EXTREMELY patient with my body as it took lots of time to heal from this cyst. And my vanity was surely tested especially at the very beginning of this whole process. When I woke up each morning, my eyelid looked a little better, but after each treatment it temporarily looked a little red and swollen again. This was a very frustrating, but necessary part of the early healing process. The healing was not very noticeable on a day-to-day basis. I had to eventually stop focusing on my eye and stop looking at it several times a day in the mirror and just trust that the treatment was working. Only then did I see that it was absolutely healing. There was noticeable healing from week-to-week. I also asked a few friends and close family members to help me pray for a complete recovery. It was very comforting to know that they were supporting me during this very challenging time.

DAYTIME TREATMENT:
Do this at least once a day (ex: after you wake up).
For best results, do it several times per day whenever possible.

1. Wash eyelid well with a small amount of Baby Shampoo.

2. Boil tap water in a small bowl.

3. Dip one end of a small Gel Eye Compress into the bowl for a couple of minutes to allow it to heat up.

4. Gently put the heated end of the eye compress over the lid applying a little pressure or massaging motion. Keep the compress on until it starts to cool off.

Repeat steps 3 & 4 until water in the bowl is no longer hot enough to heat up the compress.

5. Fill a small coffee cup half full with filtered water. Microwave to heat the water (~15-30 seconds).

6. Add Coarse Sea Salt to make the water salty and stir to dissolve and mix thoroughly.

7. Spoon a small amount of the salt water onto your hand to check the temperature. It should be very warm, but not scalding hot.

8. Spoon enough of the salt water into a Sterile Eye Cup to fill it to the brim.

9. Lean your head forward over a sink and hold the eye cup straight up to your open eye so that your eye is submerged in the very warm water. Keep your eye wide open and roll your eye all around in the water for 1 minute.

10. Dump out the remaining water from the eye cup. Rinse your eyelid gently with tap water.

11. Shake an unrefrigerated bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar (with the 'Mother') to mix the contents thoroughly. Open the bottle, and place a clean Cotton Cosmetic Pad over the opening and tip it over gently to pour a small amount of vinegar onto the pad.

12. Wipe the affected area of the lid with the pad several times.

Now, you can continue with your morning routine: washing your face as usual, showering, etc.

If you usually wear eye makeup, you should ideally wear minimal eye makeup until your eyelid is completely healed. I've only been wearing a little eyeliner and no eyeshadow.

TREATMENT BEFORE BED:

Repeat steps 1-12.

13. Wash your face as usual. Pat it dry with a towel.

14. Pour a small amount of Castor Oil onto your fingertips and massage it over the eyelid.

15. Take one capsule of Oil of Oregano with a glass of water.

If you usually wear moisturizer at night, you can continue with that routine. Just don't put any additional moisturizer on the affected eye.

To treat a chalazion, I opened up an activated charcoal capsule, mixed with hot water, put on bump left for 30 seconds or so, washed off with baby shampoo and hot cloth. Noticed a big difference immediately. I thought to do this because it works with my white head zits, so thought to give it a try. After a few days, the bump was almost entirely gone. Someone else on this page mentioned a charcoal poultice too. Charcoal is known to absorb toxins, 5 times its own weight.

Hello All- I have had chalazion a couple of times 8 months ago I actually had surgery to remove one on each eye. If you have had them for a while and they start to harden and form a shell over them, then it's to late for hot compress surgery is the only way. I was happy with my surgery, I have a tiny red scar but beats to big red bumps on my eyes. I currently have a chazalion on my lower left eyelid. Went to the doc to confirm and yes she said one is forming. I caught it early so warm compress has helped some but it has only been 3 days since I got my chalazion. You have to get very warm water. I warm up in microwave till nearly boiling and redip every 2 to 3 minutes for a total of 10 minutes. You are suppose to this 7-8 times a day, I know it sucks!! After you compress first thing in the morning grab some baby soap and put a dab on your finger and rub in where the chalazion is forming, repeat after your last compress at night. This will take some time but is really the only way. Trust me I looked for the fastest way possible and there is no such thing. Slow and steady wins the race. I would also suggest artificial tears to help with dryness... GOOD LUCK

Son is 14 and has had 2 chalazions: at 7 months old baby dr exam, dr said she 'just came from a seminar that taught a terrific new infant massage therapy' and pressed her knuckle hard into my son's left eye socket saying she was massaging the bone?! I grabbed him and left. Next day his eyelid center had half-inch ball-shaped chalazion. Crying painful, pushing into eyeball, couldn't open lid or blink. 3 days later, it seemed larger. Different dr referred us to eye dr who matter of factly told me he'd be glad to lance it but baby would lose his eye as dr never used eye shield or guard and baby still would have a good eye. Instead, I took baby home, put gentle moist warm wet baby washcloth on eyelid to cleanse mucus and watering.

Called my mom (72 yrs old). She told me put a dab breastmilk or room temp regular whole milk on chalazion. Within an hour, swelling reduced. I reapplied again, then a very slightest dab aloe liquid from my garden plant. Next day, chalazion was half size. In 2 days more it was gone forever, no scar. At 14 he had an identical chalazion lump grow to cover entire backside of one earlobe. Since no pain we didn't pick, pierce, lance. After 1 month, it was about same size, but tender. We applied gentle wet warm washcloth to soothe and soften. It showed reducing next day after slight dab hydrogen peroxide, milk and aloe. Next day we dabbed milk, aloe, olive oil and kept it clean, dry. It is almost gone in a few days. Seemed these last 3 did most help. Thank you forever mom. Love this site. Thank you.

I'd like to recommend Skinoren - 20% Azelaic acid- instead of ACV. This is naturally occuring but expect it's synthesised in the cream. I had great success with it for treating rosacea on nose and eyes over a few months it went from quite bad to almost gone.

Currently I also noticing improvement on a chalazion after 4 days (top of eyelid only), while also using hot compresses. That's after around 4 weeks of just getting worse or no change.

Much less harsh and stingy than the ACV also.

My daughter who is five years old has had a chalazion for a couple of years. I did all that I read to do; used warm compresses and washed eye out, etc, but did not seem to help. I bought over the counter natural allergy drops for the eyes and it is clearing up very nicely!

Did she ever reply back to you? What specific drops? Why did she not think to state the specific drops?

Go to a rite aid or a similar type of store and ask for eye drops to get rid of styes- they're similar and thats what I got. U cant find a eye drop that say chalazion on it probably cuz most people dont know what it is.

Hi, I just wanted to clarify for people regarding warm compresses. They are actually made by taking some rice (or oats) and placing them in a clean cotton sock or enclosing in clean cotton material. Place that in the microwave for 1 & 1/2 to 2 minutes. This type of warm compress holds the heat and a little moisture. These should be applied to the eye for 10-15 minutes at a time.

Warming up a washcloth every few minutes doesn't work the same way as doing this. Before we had microwaves, people used hot water bottles to apply warm compresses.

Warm Compresses, Massaging

Hi Ry and All, My 2 year old son had an issue with chalazions for about a year. During that year we tried most of the above remedies, including the warm compresses 5 times a day, on each eye of A 2YR OLD! We had multiple doctors tell us once he is 5 to look into surgery to have them removed. We left the last doctor visit with two perscriptions, one for an external steroid and one for an oral steroid, he left the option up to us. Up to this point they were about 85% of each of his upper eyelids and about 20% of one of his bottom eyelids. None of the remedies had helped to reduce them much they stayed about the same size although the warm teabag compresses did appear to remove some of the redness.

We met a vendor who farms bees at our Portland Farmers Market in downtown Portland, OR. He was schooling us on the nutritional benefits of bee pollen and the way he herds his bees to different types of fruits to influence the taste of the pollen, we were sold on it as a vitamin suppliment. We began giving our son 1/2 of a teaspoon twice a day and taking it ourselves as well. Within 2 weeks we had noticed our son's chalazions were 1/4 of their normal size. A month later they were gone, only the little pink spots of where they were are left on his eyelids.

It has been almost 8 months now and we still buy our pollen from the same guy and still take it as a vitamin suppliment. My son has not had any chalazions since.

I am not comfortable posting someone else's contact information online but if you are interested in trying some of the pollen to see if it helps, feel free to shoot me an email.

Thanks for listening and sharing!

Update:

Sorry, I hadn't checked back. The chalazion went away within days. I could notice a difference within 2 days. I haven't had one since 2012 when I posted my first response. The doctors told me my chalazion wasn't that bad, but one of my eyes looked swollen and I did not like walking around with one of my eyes lower than the other. Like I said before, I went to 3 doctors, 4 doctors visits, 4 prescriptions and even had my chalazion lanced and the only thing that worked was the apple cider vinegar. First, I used an eye wash. You can buy this at the drug store. It comes with an eye cup. You fill the eye cup to the line and bend your head down so that the cup is on your eye. Raise your head back holding the eye cup and roll your eye around in the wash for a few seconds. After that I used OcuSoft lid scrub. The ophthalmologist I saw gave me samples of these and I really like them. They are good for fast eye make-up removal as well. The pads come in a box individually wrapped and they are textured and pre-moistened. They cost about $10 for a box of 30. You just scrub the eye for a few seconds and rinse. This is also good for people with irritated or itchy eyes. After that, I put a small amount of ACV on the cotton ball and just swiped my eyelid. I did this routine in the morning and at night. I even continued doing it after the chalazion went away because I was scared it would come back, but no issues. There was no trace of my chalazion within a week and I noticed the difference within 2 days. Save yourself some money. Warm compresses were a waste of time for me. It didn't work. I used the compresses and I tried tea bags and heating up a gel eye mask and this just didn't work for me.

Don't put it on the chalazion...put it on top of your skin.

You must dilute the vinegar with water.
