I started getting diarrhea during menopause. It would only be after lunch but it happened nearly everyday for a couple of years. I tried eliminating dairy, wheat, fructose, splenda and anything else I thought might be the problem but nothing changed. I tried every home remedy too. Finally I came across a book that said calcium stops chronic diarrhea. I had already been taking calcium but apparently if your calcium has a high dose of magnesium in it, it will only make the problem worse.
When I started taking pills with 600mg of calcium and only 50mg of magnesium it was an answer to my prayers. After the first full day of taking this I have not been bothered with this ailment since. I just make sure that I have one tablet with breakfast and one with lunch and that seems to be sufficient for my situation. I know you're not allowed to say brand names but to make it easy for people what I took was Caltrate 600-D Plus.
