On a recent out-of-state trip, I caught a case of liquid poop. At first I thought it was because I ate a lot of greasy food one night (ive been sick to my stomach before when I ate a funnel cake at the fair; grease bomb!! ), but after a couple days, I figured it was something more serious.
So I started taking that good old pink stuff. However this did absolutely nothing after 2 days. By now, day 4, I was in so much pain from the cramps, and it felt like someone inserted a shop vac up my rectum and kept flipping the inflate/deflate switch. So I decided to check out EC once again for help. I came across the Turmeric cure. So I went to Walg****$ and bought a bottle, and took 6 capsules which is about 1 teaspoon I thought. After that, I thought I was good to go! No gas, no pain, and no liquid poop. However the monster came back just later that night.
So another day went by, another day of sulking. Then I visited the site again and decided to try the dreaded-by-many ACV cure!! Dah dah dahhh. I mistakenly took 2 teaspoons in juice one night, but the recipe was 2 TABLEspoons! So in the morning (when I found out) I again ingested the concoction, this time taking 2 big ones in a glass of juice with honey.
After 6 or so days of diarrhea every 30 minutes, I finally had peace! I was so happy that it was gone. Everything was gone, the cramps, the nausea, the gas surges, and the liquid poop. That afternoon I again chugged 2 more Tablespoons of ACV in juice, just to be safe. Then I was free. That was a week ago, it took me a while to post this but im so glad Earth Clinic saved me again : D Thanks to Jehovah God for ACV

My husband and I are currently in school so our diet is not always the best because we are always studying. Because of this on the occasion food does not agree with us and of course the diarrhea happens, or even just a really upset stomach with maybe quite softer poo later. Anyways, I looked this up on the website and actually other websites as well. I found the activated charcoal in the stomach section of a pharmacy store. It really works. My husband had a particularly bad case so I made him take I think two capsules. He was reluctant, but after he took it he stopped having diarrhea and at the time he was vomitting as well. This stopped it all. It wasn't a miracle feel better, but the erradication stopped instantly. Because he was having an aweful time it took him till the next day to feel better. After that moment when either one of us has a thought of upset stomach we go straight to the activated charcoal. I usually just take one capsule and am done with it. Like I said it doesn't make you feel purfect, but it stops the problems out right. Not only did I use it for this, but because of its absorbtion properties I put it on a bug bite as a paste with water applied it to a bandaid and it stopped itching rather quickly. I think I made that to runny, but it worked well despite my mixing abilities.
Flour Mixed in Water

When I was growing up my mom had a great way to stop diarrhea. Mix a teaspoon or two of flour in a glass of water until smooth and drink it down. It will be about the consistancy of Maalox so don't gulp. Chase it with a glass of water. You can take a second dose after about 3 hours if needed, but usually only takes one dose.

ACV does work for diarrhea. It acts very quickly. Starts you burping within 10 minutes. 1 tablespoon in 4 oz. of water. I used it 2 times a day.
Indigestion goes away almost immediately. It has to be the non filtered type of ACV.

I have been married to my husband for 23 years. I just realized that I haven't bought pink diarrhea medicine for over a year. I used to have to buy it for him regularly. If he gets diarrhea, he (and even my teenage sons! ) head for the charcoal. Some take a few tablets, some put a teaspoon of powder into glass of water. It is amazing how much it helps. My husband's diarrhea has probably decreased also because he doesn't consume much dairy. Ice cream more than once a week always gets him started again. He can tolerate raw goat milk from our goats with no problem. Keep charcoal on hand at all times and read about what it is good for. It is cheap and amazing!

ACV for diarrhea:
Have had a one week bout of "the runs"... Took two tablespoons of ACV in water, drank with straw as to not mess up my teeth and Blam! It stopped in 4 hours. I tell you - this stuff is a life saver! I'll continue that dose 2x a day for awhile. Thanks earth clinic!

Iodine for Diarrhea -- Bulgarian Remedy

I am Bulgarian, living in China at present. As a child, whenever I had diarrhoea, my grandma would give me a few drops of iodine in half a glass of water to drink. It would halt the problem within hours. When my son was 10 months old, he had a severe diarrhoea and after trying a few medicines, the elderly doctor suggested the same remedy for him - 2 drops in some water. The next day he was healthy again. As a school administrator in Beijing I got almost sued by a Finnish mother for administering the remedy to her 8 year old daughter on a trip. There was a bus, full of kids, going to another city 5 hours away and, even though I knew in many countries it was forbidden to take iodine orally, I didn't have a choice. The bus didn't have to stop anywhere on the road and the girl was fine. I have talked with doctors about it and they said that if taken rarely, it's not doing harm. In Bulgaria generations have been treated in this way and I never travel (especially to another country) without my little black bottle. For chool children the dose is 4-5 drops in water and for adults - 5 to 8. Sometimes adults need to repeat on the next day, if the problem persists.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Diarrhea
I make a tea out of the Apple Cider Vinegar. I put cloves, allspice and crushed cinnamon sticks in a cheese cloth and soak it in hot tea. After it cools I add the ACV and drink it.

Reading some of the posts on how to eliminate or manage GI problems I wanted to put my 2 cents in.
I have been managing my GI problems now for over a decade; going to two different GI doctors and being told there is nothing wrong that it is just stress. There are times that doctors can't fix you so you have to do it yourself.
I have tried prescriptions from the doctors, activate charcoal, Aloe Juice, OTC and none of it is a true fix. Either I feel more dehydrated or backed up; the activated charcoal messed with my life saving medications. I have had my gallbladder removed, doctors thought that was the problem.
I have found one simple thing that works. The old saying of an apple a day keeps the doctor away. It's true! As long as I eat one apple a day I don't have diarrhea or painful cramps. It doesn't matter the type of apple, I do change them up so I can have a bit of variety. Apples have pectin, which will help bind better than Prevalite powder, and apples taste way better.
I am not saying don't take the prescriptions your doctor say to take but try a apple a day. I have found that for me if I limit how much onions, garlic, tomatoes, and greasy foods I eat it helps. But on my cheat day and I get fried chicken I make sure I eat at least two apples.
By eating a apple a day I was able to cut out 3 medications; I do have breakthrough days but it is only if I don't eat apples or went over broad on the fried chicken.

For over 35 years now I, and my family, have used whole black peppercorns to cure diarrhea and stomach poisoning (used it in bali for 'bali belly') with 100% success. Just swallow 12-15 whole black peppercorns with a mouthful of water (do not chew) problem gone usually 10-15 minutes. Very easy to swallow-don't even know they've gone down!

I have pneumonia for over a month and a half during which I have taken 30 (yes-thirty) days of antibiotics. (3 different ones. Chronic diarrhea for 30 days was easy to deal with-but when the Dr. stopped the antibiotics to finally research the actually cause-one week later I have found myself in agony with acute diarrhea. 4 days now... No probiotic or levure, spasfone or smecta has helped. I am exhasted and in severe pain. I recently cured my vaginal mycose using a ACV douche. Today I read here about the simple idea to use ACV for my stomach/intestinal bacteria. 2 Tblspn ACV 2 Tblspn honey in a coffee cup filled with warm water (like a warm tea). I drank this and feel sooo much better that I can actually Smile again! I will do this 2 times a day until I get my strengthback. Still exhasted but feeling hopeful again! Thank you all for your input! Amazing! God bless you!

Not sure why I haven't shared this remedy before for diarrhea. I have used it for years with success. I just take an apple with skin on and shred it. I eat anywhere from 1/2 to all the apple. It has cured diarrhea every time. I have used this remedy with success for more than 10 years. Doesn't matter what brand of apple but I tend to use one that isn't real sweet.
Turmeric

I'd been making 'golden tea' (1 tsp turmeric, half tsp each of ground black pepper, cinnamon and half tsp of honey, all blended together into hot milk and boiled on the stove for a few minutes) for help ease COPD (non smoker! ) but hadn't made it in a couple of weeks.
Just today, I developed unbearable diarrhea out of the blue so came hunting in here for a remedy and found this.
Never thought of using just plain Turmeric in hot water but after tie first sip, I'll never use anything else again.
Yes, it stopped diarrhea instantly but was also far superior in helping me breathe freely again rather than the 'golden tea' hot milk concoction.
And nope, it doesn't taste brilliant (like Laney above so accurately described, 'tastes like peppery mud going down') but considering it's immediate relief, I really don't care about taste.
Thanks for sharing that Laney!
