Both me and my partner had the itch. It was excruciating! I tried ACV and this definitely stopped it for a while but man it hurt!

When it came back I tried ACV again taping it on overnight as some had suggested and holy crap the next day INFECTION!!!!!!! White pussy and open sores disgusting mess. WTF!!!! OWWWWWWWWWW sad sad sad.

Luckily I have a silver colloid machine. I soaked a soft cotton ball in silver and gently wedged it against my anus and kept it there overnight. Next day was not infected and 80% better!

I cut fresh pieces of aloe vera leaf and soothed it on to heal the sores - sticky, icky but oh so soothing.

One week later - Fixed the sores But my butt was still itchy!

Decided to bring my own brain back into gear. Most problems that I've had over the years have been due to parasites. Even though there was NO visible signs of parasites I remembered that it is always a good place to start.

Used tablets that contained Black walnut, Chinese Wormwood, barberry, ginger, gentian, thyme oil, cinnamon bark oil.

We are both now itch free, a lot happier and a tiny bit (heaps) embarrassed! Lol

Itchy but it's a sign of parasites in your organism, check that out! I remember reading an article about using natural remedies to deparasite the body wich said that we should use one remedy at a time for no longer than one week or ten days because the parasites develop resistence to it, always have them on an empty stomach, especially in the morning. There was a list of over a dozen of natural remedies, I remember only a few like bee products, garlic or pumpkin seeds, not salted or roasted, I think you can find more info. on this site or google if you are interested.

I suffered from an itchy butt for about 4 or 5 years. And this wasn't just an occasional off-and-on itch either. This was EVERY DAY. It was horrible. Especially at night. It was impossible to get a good night's sleep. And I loves me some sleep. That was probably the worst part. And I tried everything. Apple cider vinegar. Coconut oil. Tea tree oil. Rubbing Alcohol. Zinc Oxide. Nothing worked.

And then I tried a banana peel. I had used it before on warts with success, but I didn't realize its potential for other skin ailments until I read about people using it for dermatitis and eczema. So I figured I'd give it a go. I took a banana peel. Scraped off some of the inside gunk. Not all of it. Just enough to not make a total mess in there. And then I just kinda stuck it in between my butt cheeks and left it there for an hour or so. When I first applied it, the itch became worse. But it's important to resist the urge to remove the peel. After a few minutes the intense itching should go away. To my surprise, the next day my itchy butt had diminished significantly. I finally was able to have a good night's sleep. However, I'm not entirely cured. I find that I have to do this every few days. Also, alcohol is a huge factor for me. If I drink, the itch and soreness quickly returns, so I have to limit how often I over-indulge in alcohol. But the banana peel gave me my life back. Give it a try. All hail the almighty banana peel!!

Hydrogen Peroxide, Polysporin

I have the type of itchy butt that's kept me up at night scratching, which of course, made it even worse. Well, I'm also pregnant so it wasn't letting me get the sleep I need. Well after hours of searching the net, I found this site out of desperation. I just tried hydrogen peroxide soaked into a cotton ball and applied quite a bit. Surprisingly it didn't burn at all, and to my surprise is working SLIGHtly. I am more comfortable than I was a few minutes ago, though the nagging itch is still there. However, I think I can finally fall asleep now.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Everyone here is so good natured about this uncomfortable problem. My poor 11 year old has had an itchy butt on and off for a couple of months. We have tried Prep-H and that does next to nothing. By the time we get to the doctor the symptoms have disappeared. Hoping a specialist can rule out other things, but in the meantime I am going to see if he is willing to try the ACV followed by aloe. He does sit on his butt a lot while playing video games (but manages to play outside a lot too! ) and he sits on a donut pillow, but I bet that contributes to his condition. Anyway, thanks for the advice, and I will post again once we try the ACV and aloe.

Thanks for all input to this great site.

I tried aloe vera and tea tree oil applied to itch. Then ate raw garlic first thing in morning, as per advice on this site. This, combined with applying cider apple vinegar, cleared it up in a few days.... after months of discomfort.

I have reached the same point - I have nothing to lose, I'm going to try the ACV solution and hope for the best. I've tried almost everything else. I too have a high protein diet mostly from chocolate flavored drinks that are premixed, to supplement my workouts. If his proves to be the root cause rest assured I will find another source of protein.

Witch Hazel, Diaper Rash Cream
Posted by Heretohelp8 (London, Ontario, Canada) on 08/05/2012

I have had a problem with my anus being itchy for about two weeks now. I'm not completely sure as to the cause of this horrid and embarrassing problem but it does seem to occur when I have a loose, watery bowel movement. My mom believes it is due to the acidity in my diet, which burns the sensitive skin around the anus and causes irritation, but I can't be sure. I will work to actually curing my problem in the future, but for now, all I crave is a remedy. In the beginning my mother suggested icing the area. I agreed and felt relief soon enough. I lie on my back and wedge a half inch thick hard ice pack between my cheeks and it seems to do the trick within ten minutes. I make sure to keep a piece of clothing between ice and skin, and make sure not to ice for to long or you will get frostbitten. But who carries around a frozen icepack with them? So I needed something portable. And on top of that I am still horribly itchy for those ten minutes.

So I read online in multiple places about witch hazel, and asked my mom to pick me up some. She did and I began using it. It didn't work at first, but I don't believe I applied it properly. I just used it again, accompanied with an ice pack and it seemed to do the trick within five. When I applied it this time I soaked a thick piece of toilet paper in it, sat on the toilet and held it to the area. It did sting a tad in the beginning but it gets better. I still have doubts about witch hazel used on its own or as a cure, but it would certainly work in a pinch or coupled with ice. Hope this helped!

I am often skeptical about natural miracle cures but I have to admit Christine was right on this one. Last night my anus was itchy and burning to the point of insanity. After reading this I gathered I had nothing left to lose. I got the ACV I already had in my cupboard, put a bit on a piece of kitchen towl and tucked it between my cheeks for a minute. The initial sting was unpleasant but if you get to the point I was at it would be the least of your worries. I removed the kitchen towl then applied a little aloe vera gel to help the burning. 20 mins later the itch had practically gone and I was able to sleep. My only regret is that I hadnt read this at the beginning of the night! Thanks for your help and I would recommend this remedy to anyone.

Nyastatin and Hydrocortisone Cream

I suffered from this for over 3 months. I was too embarrassed to go to the doctor and also thought it was such a tivial thing I should be able to clear it myself. I tried every remedy on earth clinic and then some! Took some over the counter tablets for worms just in case. Kept scrupulously clean. Nothing worked.

I went to the doc and he prescribed a cream that contains nyastin and 0.5% (VERY WEAK) hydrocortisone. Nyastin cures fungal infections, hydrocortisone often for things like eczema and bites. Worked from the first application and only applied it twice a day for a couple of days. UNBELIEVABLE TOTAL CURE! I imagine that this could be available over the counter or easily on the net. The name begins with T and ends with "dene" 3 years later it came back. Being a slow learner I still tried every home remedy . Had forgotten the name of the cream. Gave up and went to the doc yesterday Itch free from the first application and will continue it for a few days to make sure.Never had any fungal problems in my life which is good for a woman, no thrush or athletes foot. I am 60 and did not think I ever got "sweaty " down there. I have noticed others have commented that high carbs and nuts have caused their symptoms and I must admit I have been eating lots of carbs and just got a thing for eating loads of nuts over the last 3/6 months so they could have something there. Hope this helps someone else.

Yes. I detest the smell of apple cider vinegar -- it makes me nauseous because as a child my mother made me rinse my hair after shampooing to make it shiny and manageable. Bidet
Posted by Joann (Bentonville, Ar ) on 01/31/2012
★★★★★

A bidet made my anal itching all go away. I had wanted one for years, but we didn't have hot water near the stool. I decided to get one anyway and use cold water only until we could run a hot water line to it. My husband hooked it up in just a few minutes. He turned off the water, unscrewed the water line to the stool, then screwed a bidet connection that fit to the water line and the bidet. Water then can go to the toilet, when it is flushed or the bidet, if it is turned on. Everything to hook it up was included.

This one isn't electric and it works great. I bought it on sale at Amazon for $79. The first week the water seemed a little cold and it was summer time. (My daughter said it gave her frost bite. ) I got used to it being cold and it doesn't bother me at all even in the winter time during zero weather. The water to the bidet stays in the waterline in the bathroom and the chill dissipates between uses. I have used it and it didn't bother me.

I have a range of motion problem, so it was very hard to wipe, I had to lay down to clean myself and it would take at least 10 minutes 4 times a day. I get cleaner with the bidet. I sometimes use a hand held bidet with warm water and hand lotion or oil in it to rinse after I have used the stool bidet. The company offers a hand held bidet with the toilet bidet sometimes. A hand held is good when you are away from home but the toilet bidet is a lot better.

I too found much of the feedback on anal burning & itching very funny.. Though I know its very a very personal & distressing problem. My experience is that its usually due to

a. general acidity of the system:

this can be remedied quite quickly by drinking plenty of raw vegetable juice made & drunk right away.. Especially carrot with a green apple & a little fresh ginger added. And, an enema with warm water with a 1/4cup of liquid chlorophyll added.

You'll be amazed how 'miraculously' the burning will disappear.

b. worms

Believe it or not, worms in the colon (large intestine) are more common than one would imagine. In this case Before breakfast, 3 cloves of raw garlic, chopped well & left to sit out on the chopping board

for 15mins, then swallowed down with a glass of water.. (3 Beanos tabs taken with will prevent gas)

then eat a bowl of oatmeal or toast for breakfast.

The garlic taken as above every morning for 7 days will kill any invaders, & help to lower blood pressure & cholesterol levels. Plus its a marvelous anti fungal, anti viral & anti bacterial. Again, take the warm water enema with the added 1/4cup of liquid chlorophyll once a day (I recommend Dr. Jensens liquid chlorophyll). Topically I have found applying a warm moist wash cloth to the rectal area followed with a good smear of wheat germ oil is very soothing. As another person mentioned Virgin Coconut oil is also very helpful

..However, alkalising the system with fresh vegetable juices (not fruit), & relieving the bowel of some of its waste with a simple natural non painful enema (as mentioned in the Bible) is THE solution in my opinion. (one can buy the hotwater bottle with enema attachments at any big pharmacy)

Anal Itch finally gone. I am 46 and have had the miserable itch since I was 18 years old. I would be embarrassed to tell you everything I have tried but finally found a solution. DESITIN cream (used on baby butts to prevent rash). This is a thick cream that I use once each morning. All the other creams disolve throughout the day or when you wipe and the itch quickly returns. I have gone from feeling like I have poison ivy to forgetting there was ever an itch. I would have paid $1,000 dollars for a remedy but this really works. Good luck.

Aloe and Tea Tree Oil

I bought a natural cream from England that contains tea tree oil along with beeswax, coconut oil and loads of other stuff. This is the only thing that has worked for me and I would strongly recommend it. I used to wake up three to 4 times a night with an itch and it drove me mad. Of course scratching it caused bleeding and soreness. I apply it morning and night and for the past six months I've been great.

Thanks for this post! I have mostly eliminated gluten from my diet but can't help but eat it sometimes... I'm a dessert fan. I have noticed recently over the holidays that my skin was irritated in various places and suspected it was due to my eating habits.

My Answer for Anal Itch: Go GLUTEN-FREE!

This was my answer after a 2-year struggle with itching in various places. Turned out to be a reaction to gluten, an indigestible protein found in many foods. Fortunately, the market is GF friendly, and there are many, many options. Absolutely worth the switch since itching is just one of the many autoimmune reactions of eating gluten.

Hydrogen peroxide worked for me too, but it was one of three things that helped. Besides hydrogen peroxide, I used thayer's witch hazel w/ aloe vera toner and benadryl. I'm completely itch free.

I should also mention that it doesn't work instantly; it does take a few seconds for it to start working, and a few minutes to fully work.

In my case the itching of many months went away (it's been 2 weeks) with CLOTRIMAZOLE AND BETAMETHASONE DIPROPIONATE CREAM USP, 1%/0.05%. Made by TARO. Mine was a fungus that did not let me sleep every night for months. Cortisone only aliviates for short term, but did not cure.

This medication combines both benefits, takes away the itching and kills the fungus. In two to three days you will start to see improvement. If you have tried everything else with no results, ask your doctor to treat you for fungus with this product.

I wish you a healthy butt.

Cranberry Juice

I have had issues with this for some time now on a daily basis and it is worse with a bowel movement. It is incredibly painful and irritating as you all know. I didn't put two and two together until yesterday when I had cranberry juice, which I started drinking again yesterday for its health benefits and ability to flush out fat. Low and behold today I have had no issues. I don't know what exactly causes the itching and pain, but I had wondered if it wasn't a yeast infection. Even on a low carb diet I still had issues though. In the past I have had cranberry juice and it went away, but I didn't realize that's what worked. Cranberry juice is great at fighting bacteria and yeast and my problem is totally solved whenever I drink it. It must be the unsweetened one that's just 100% cranberry juice, NO other juices or sweeteners (or you can also make your own which I've done before and it isn't hard.)

I went to dr a few times on this issue, ive tried prep h which helped temporarily, but it only came back, when I went to doc first time he gave me some kind of antifungal sumthincazole was the antifungal I cant remeber it helped but the itch returned. my last trip to doc he gave me this big tub of salve. I used it for like a couple days and the itch never returned again I mean rarely like its been two years now. The doc gave me like four refills on this stuff but I barely used a few days of it, it comes in a 1lb jar 453. 6 grams all I know is the itch has never came back if it does just put a little cream on it and its gone instantly. anyways the cream was "Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP, 0. 1%" This stuff worked I think the stuff only costs me like 4 dollars at most so its cheap and it works. Good luck it cured my itch. GOOD LUCK ask you doc for this stuff as it worked for me after all the failed attempts prior

Cayenne

I'm going to give you the cure. I tried everything too. I came accross this in dermatologic paper on line so I'm not taking the credit. I had very bad night itch and this cured it immediately. There are two catches to this:

Catch 1: You have to do it every night (or most nights). But so what... you brush your teeth every day right?

Catch 2: You have to be prepared for intense itching (about 5-7 minutes worth) every night before bed.

The treatment is capsaicin cream (0.1%) or less if you can find it. You can buy it right from CVS, Walgreens, etc. In the area that sells muscle pain heat creams (e.g, Heat). This is made from cayenne peppers. You need to use a very very small amount. Trust me when I say if you are using more than a bb size it's too much! Don't think more is better. Apply the tiny bb sized amount. It will spread, don't worry such a small size not covering. Its enough. After you apply it wait for the itch. It will come and it will be intense! But after its gone there will only be a sort of cool feeling. You will sleep through the night. Since you have abrasions down there my friend, the stinging and itch will be worse the 1st week. But, since you are awake for the itch, you'll be able to will yourself not to scratch unlike when an itch comes in your sleep and you're kind of on autopilot to scratch. Good luck.

You can put Aveeno cream (the best) or generic oatmeal body/hand cream on a Q-tip and, well, stick it in there. Wipe off excess with TP. And for me personally- I get itch after too much gin (even expensive gin) and if I have had poison ivy or sumac, after eating too may cashews (come from the same family as poison ivy)

Back in 2008 I had a bad itch not only on my Butt but also on my anus, upper thighs between the legs, both tesicles and the tip of the penis. From what I now believe it was most likely a male yeast infection or some type of severe jock itch. Even though I used tea tree oil and aloe it came back with a vengeance. I then found using 91% Isoproply Alcohol on cotton rounds or on cotton pads applied to the areas that itched took care of ALL of the itch problems. It will burn like Heck and you will question if this should be happening but it is killing either the yeast, fungus or fungi. How if I could just get rid of the white tonuge... But no more burning down below and that was a couple of years ago. It was driving me crazy... G/l

Start off with three teaspoons a day and smear the oil into the anal cavity and around the buttocks. If this dosnt work (Im sure it will) then try another antifungal. After using toilet paper, I use a PORTABLE BIDET, which can be bought on-line or some drugstores for under $10. It fits over ANY toilet. You fill it with water, then dump the water right into the toilet. First, I use hot or warm water, then cold and the itching stops. I do this after almost every bowel movement. My mother gave it to me and it has saved my life. For travel, I have a squeeze bottle that suffices. Hope this helps someone.

Have you got a really itchy anus? If so this is most definiatly a fungal infection. Untreated it could last for many years, the constant scratching can just exacerbate the problem, which will just make the piles worse. As a start get some virgin coconut oil and start taking, about four teaspoons a day.. And rub some around the anus as well. Its no coincidence that a well known brand of pile cream contains coconut oil. But topical application wont remove the fungus in the gut.

Went back and collected a sample for scan and the result didnt show any kind of parasites. So I found this BRILIANT article about the Apple CIder Vinegar which made me scream in the toilet :) but it felt good!! Oh yahhh. I have to say that sorted me out, but what`s happening now its that becomes itchy after using the toilet( after a shit).. Where I have to use the ACV again! Im wondering that could be my diet as I am very much into weight training(carb cycling at the moment). Could it be too much protein? considering that I eat every 3-4 hours.. 7 meals /day. Also did reduce the amount of whey protein that I was taking since last year( isolated whey chocolate flavour-again could it be from cocoa powder.. ??!! ) Appreciate any suggestions! :) Thank you Christine!! 1. ) Use only Tucks Hemorrhoidal Medicated Pads, or better yet, a generic brand.

2. ) Take 1 Loratadine (10 mg) per day. (Or, if you want the name brand, buy Claritin and enrich the capitalists.)

He couldn't believe that I knew what he needed when he explained the problem well enough and I put him on a good probiotic. He found after that, just wiping w/tissue fixed the problem instead of his having to leave a wet washcloth in the floor for me to wash every day. But, he'd always had to wash well w/water to keep from itching terribly. Sure smoothed out a rough spot in our marriage! Lol

But Itch, or Anul Puritus, I am concerned at the comments from someone about stopping probiotics. I have suffered from this condition for 30 years, doctors have no idea what causes it and go for the old "don't scratch, keep it clean, don't drink coffee ETC ETC. All Rubbish. My research has narrowed it down to a lack of good bacteria in part of the colon, the lack of these bacteria cause a higher alkaline excretions with stools and this causes the itch. This is why some people get help from the use of ACV because it is acid. But all of these treatments are like the stupid doctors only treat the symtom. To treat the problem we need to get the Bifidofolus back into the gut. One link I think it was springer link put me onto a research paper that had people use Malt Soup Extract and most of these people got great results in stopping the itch. But MSE is almost impossible to get so I use Malt Extract and probotics. The best thing to stop the itch is capsicum cream at about 25% stings like hell for a short period then the P factor cut the itch right out.

I have had an itchy butthole for as long as I can remember. Tried EVERYTHING, creams, vinagars, oils, cleaning etc, NOTHING works. Until one day I bought some over the counter allergy medicine, ya know? for like pollen and sneezing and stuff, well it also says stops itchy skin conditions. Now I'm convinced, it must have been an allergy or something all this time, once I started taking this stuff, (one small pill a day) gone! No more sticking my finger in my buttcrack all day, and I can sleep once again. Lovin' it!!
