Echinacea
Posted by Catlyn (Washington) on 08/20/2016
I've been trying out some of the remedies for a swollen lymph node in my neck. My doctor and NAET practitioner agree that's what it is. (If there isn't a section on Earth Clinic for NAET treatments, there should be.) Anyway, I started using echinacea and elderberry tea. It also has some other herbs in it. I made it up and drank 2-3 glasses a day cold. In less than a week, I had to go to the doctor because my heart was racing and when I took a deep breath it hurt from my chest up into my neck. I had read about some of the side effects of echinacea that morning before my appointment and thankfully thought to take the box with me to show her. She said it was definitely the tea, prescribed a drug to slow my heart rate down, and told me to drink lots of water. She said she's seen the same problem with energy drinks. So, after a few days off the tea and on the blood pressure medicine, I'm feeling back to normal. I'll be more cautious with the remedies I try next. I've used a homeopathic lymph tonic with echinacea and had no problems. I think it was the amount I was drinking with the tea this time, or perhaps the combination of all the herbs. I think I will stick with drinking apple cider vinegar and rubbing castor oil on the lymph node. The castor oil rub on a bone spur in my foot has worked well.

I have been sick for around 2 months. It started with a cold then progress to severe cough and ended with lymph node infection. My ear and throat was in pain even when I talk and no matter what I do, it just doesn't heal completely. I was getting worried as it seems to take too long to heal. So I started to search for natural remedies for swollen lymph nodes and came across castor oil application. I did not do the whole protocol. I simply apply castor oil to the area behind my ears and around my neck where the lymph nodes are. After doing this for 3 consecutive nights, I purged out a lot of mucus and I was about 90% healed. One more time of application and I was healed 100%. The pain which has been plaguing me for 2 months was completely gone in 4 castor oil application! Amazing!

The body is divided by Western medicine into four quadrants.
The waist is considered to be the horizontal dividing line. the mid point or centre line from the middle of the top of the head to the middle of the groin is the vertical division line. I had nodes in all four "quadrants".

Who says cancer isn't a deadly infection? Imagine the collapse of the industry if that became well known?
Imagine if bacteria and fungi and viruses could morph from one to the next, if they were pleomorphic.
Well, medicine only now has begun to arrive at full circle and to discover that indeed this is the case, that the Pasteur world view is incomplete, at best.
Pasteur's perspective was that ALL bad diseases originate from outside the body, act as invaders, and must be denied entry.
In the world of medicine, Pasteur trumped Bechamp and rendered his subtle, insightful theories obscure, by successfully asserting that all infections gain entry from outside, acting like foreign incursions.
Bechamp, on the other hand, argued that we all live with good and not good bacteria, that fungi, bacteria and viruses are merely different stages, held in check, or not, that they are part of a singular progression and that it is internal imbalance within which allows these bacteria, fungi and viruses to morph, that they are in fact pleomorphic.
Pasteur won. And his views prevailed. Hence pasteurization.
Next, imagine using munitions grade mustard gas and deadly radiation (which killed discoverer Madame Curie) to tackle a deadly infection called cancer.
Completely illogical.
This is why antimicrobials such as aloe vera and iodine kill off cancer. Cancer blood slides are often indistinguishable from the fungi of extreme candida slides.

Dear Kat: So sorry, did not revisit this site until now, hope you stood up to them.
Using fear for profit is despicable. The thing that kills is fear. When the body feels fear it begins to behave as if under extreme threat. It cannot heal while under threat. Do not let "authorities" instill fear in you. The body knows best. And so do you.
Negotiate with the cancer. Invite it to leave. Do not think in terms of a "fight" against cancer or even using any aggression. Be clear that this is a negotiation. The mind has enormous power to make you sick - or well. Of course you need to help it along. And of course you have to want to live. Sounds simple but many people are conflicted about surviving. Be your own friend in this matter. Claim yourself back from the system.
For the very best kind of truly healing meditation go to chilel.com
The best thing a fine GP doctor ever told me was this: It is YOUR body, it is YOUR choice, and you are the driver, not the passenger.
If you say NO to a bone marrow extract, to removal of your nodes, (like killing off your soldiers), to biopsies, to a CAT scan which is up to 1200 x-rays in one go, bear in mind that all of this is an employment scheme, and all of it is predicated on the assumption that of course you will submit to chemo, radiation.
If not, what stage does it matter that you are at? this is an ecological question, not a medical one.
Change the terrain and the cancer cannot survive. It is fear of change that holds people back from wellness. It is fear of how powerful the mind is to cure the body that gets in the way of wellness. Yet people make themselves sick all the time, same mind, different use.
Starve cancer and it will move on.
Cancer cells are very simple, they need sugar to survive. Cut off the quick release sugars and slow down all carbs with fat, butter, sweet organic butter is fine, it is exempt from the "no dairy" rule.
How invasively they treat you, that is YOUR choice. They do not call it "nuclear" medicine for nothing. It causes cancer. Chemo is derived from mustard gas used to kill soldiers, a chemical invented by a munitions company, and it causes cancer. Check Lancet and New England medicine sites, they admit this in many white papers. X-rays, too, the same thing. the "treatment" causes cancer, additional secondary cancers, the spread of cancer.
You are worth more than that. Refuse to be a medical masochist.

Seven years after "diagnosis" of incurable stage three B cell follicular NHL (Non Hodgkins Lymphoma):
Info update for Iodine, meaning solely potable iodine, specifically Lugol's potable iodine.
A compound pharmacist compounded for me a solution of 12%.
I used 5 drops daily in an ounce of George's debittered aloe vera, to which I added 8 Lumina oxygen drops.
Since that time there have been crack downs on compounding pharmacists, since this cheap cure interferes with the profit margin of the trillion dollar cancer industry.
Now the maximum compounded permitted here is Lugol's 5% strength iodine.
Adjust the dose accordingly. The correct number of drops to equal 12%
Always take a day or two a week to "rest" from iodine.
There is no limit to how much can be painted on nodes externally. Try not to use cotton or Q tips as it contains toxins. Toilet paper contain formaldehyde. Why? Go figure.
Natural alternatives to iodine which are easy to obtain:
There is no limit to how much Nori Sushi type dried Seaweed one can take daily, a perfectly legitimate source of iodine.
Cut out all processed foods, expecially all sugar, dairy, all things "white". Most processed foods and all bread are loaded with bromine which is an antagonist to iodine absorption.

Have you looked into low dose naltrexone for the MS? It is an FDA approved, no side effects drug that is out of patent so very low cost, and is effective in stopping the progression of MS in about 85% of patients. Unlike the CRAB drugs or other MS drugs offered, it will modulate the immune system and do no harm. Here is the site: www.ldninfo.org
This site will show a Yahoo LDN Group that has over 12,000 members, about half of whom use it for MS. They will answer any questions you may have. There is also a Facebook LDN site, and much additional info on the Internet. Best wishes.

I have read that infection is usually left behind when you have your wisdom teeth pulled. It is not usually cleaned out properly, most assume your body will fight it off. To get the infection out you need a dental cavitation is a procedure where they open the site and again an sterilize, laser and clean it out. It is a low grade infection otherwise, in some people it ends up causing many serious health issues. Find a reputable holistic dentist,

I currently have swollen lymph nodes, my very helpful scan person told me that there is basically nothing that doctors can do about it. I haven't tried apple cider vinegar, but have recently been swishing with coconut oil, 1 Tablespoon for around 20 minutes. Then spitting out because of toxins that build up during swishing. I have found that from the first day the pain that ran from my jaw to my collar bone has virtually disappeared, and all I have now is a sore throat. Very happy.

It was awful tasting. Didn't work instantly, but overnight the jaw pain is 95% better and nodes 90% better. Finally relief after almost a week of misery. I don't know how it helps, but it (ACV) did.

In 1993, I went to a concert and the next day I came down with the worst throat infection ever. It didn't go away fully, but got better, then a month later, I was very sick again. I now believe it to have been mono and I have been sick with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome since and have been disabled since '97. I cannot sing or raise my voice without pain and I have difficulty swallowing and tenderness especially in the right side of my neck. It usually isn't as bad unless my resistance is down or I am sick or stressed, but the difficulty in swallowing has gotten worse and it's very scary. I have been very sick with asthma, sinus infection and my costochondritis. All of this makes me feel like I'm suffocating. Doctors have been no help in the throat issue. Say my tonsils are fine. Am supposed to have an ultrasound of thyroid done and see a gastro doctor. Am trying all kinds of home remedies and have completely changed my diet. No pop, dairy, soy, etc. Essential oil rubs and just used castor oil. Trying to jump up and down and get walk around as I feel up to it since I'm sick. Have a cellulite massager to use temporarily. Please tell me there is hope this will improve.

Dear Sal,
When I was in my early 20s (I am 48 now) I had trouble with my swollen lymph nodes. I had no idea what to do for them and did nothing except go to a doctor once in a while. It was scary to me. I eventually had some lymph nodes removed and biopsied but all was fine.
I still get swollen lymph nodes, especially in the area where I had some removed. (Now the ones that are left have to work harder!!! ) Massaging castor oil with some peppermint essential oil (maybe 3 drops peppermint to 1 teaspoon castor oil) helps mine to feel better immediately.
Exercise is great for the lymph nodes, especially jumping on a rebounder (mini-trampoline). (Even just light bounces will be helpful.)
Drinking plenty of water will help your body to flush out toxins and will help your lymph system.
Consider some immune boosting supplements/herbs. (Astragalus root, vitamin C, garlic.)
See this page for ideas on improving your general health.

Hi everyone,
I had a swollen node right under my collar bone about 2 years ago.My first reaction was to freak out and I thought of the worst. After going to doctors and getting all the tests done, they concluded that it was granular TB however, the last test which is an acid test they do to determine if it is TB was negative. but the doctors made me go through a whole 6 months of TB medication which was horrible for me.
I was very scared at that time and just did not read up much or did any research. The doctors also removed 3 nodes from my neck area.
Now two years later I have found another swollen node and I am freaking out again. After reading some of the things written on this website I took a shot of the ACV just plain concentrated. it felt like hell but to my surprise the node shrink in size.
it has not totally gone away but it has become smaller. And the pain around my neck has gotten better.
Please can someone tell me if you have also experienced this and what did you do and how long should I keep drinking ACV?
Any advice will be welcomed. I am scared!

I'm also concerned because I hear ACV has a lot of great health benefits but causes weight loss? I don't want to lose weight but would love taking ACV for those benefits...but if it causes weight loss I'd prefer to avoid it after my lymph nodes unswell. Thanks!

GtCharlie - THANK YOU!! Since I have been rubbing and poking at the painful areas on my upper right & left jaw and behind my ears and down my neck for weeks, I really didn't think the semi circle tapping would do anything different. AAAAHHH! Relief! I've just been doing it for the last 20 minutes (intermittently) and my jaw pain is pretty much gone. My neck feels so much better and behind my ears are already less tender. I thought my upper traps hurt from stress/sitting at the computer, but the tapping relieved the tension their too - so I'm thinking maybe that was the lymph just sitting there not draining. Dear Momma,
Many on this site use organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar. There are many good brands. My personal favorite it Eden. I think it has the best taste. But Bragg's is good too and there are lots of good brands.
For acute sickness in my children, I give them Hot Vinegar Tea several times a day. 1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar, 1 Tablespoon Honey in a mug of hot water. That is the amount I use for a child 12 or over. For smaller children I give less.
We found Extra Virgin Coconut Oil to work very well for mono, even relapses. I was giving my son, who was 17 at the time, a Tablespoon three times a day. He ate it off the spoon, but didn't like it. :) But he is pretty stoic. He turned the corner in 36 hours.
I massage castor oil into swollen lymph nodes and find it helpful, too.

★☆☆☆☆WARNING!
Hulda Clark makes great warning to not use isopropyl alcohol as it is a chemical solvent which the body has difficulty detoxifying. In this case, rubbing alcohol could potentially cause swollen lymph nodes. So, it is advised to use pure grain alcohol or maybe 100 proof vodka for topical medical remedies. Weather this safer alcohol would help swollen lymph, I don't know.
Magnet therapy and/or herbal detoxifier like "Red Clover Combination" would help. A warm washcloth dipped in Epsom Salt would help. A Mama-To-Many charcoal poultice would also help.

GtCharlie-your tapping remedy should have a thread if it's own! I've had a swollen gland on the right, below my ear, under my jaw for two days now. I read somewhere that one if the keys to longevity is to rub/massage anything that hurts. I have been rubbing like crazy for about 24 hours now trying to get this thing to drain. It hasn't been working.
I read your reply amongst the ACV comments and decided to try it. I made my fingers into a semicircle and started tapping. Within a couple if minutes there was a marked decrease in pain. I tapped some more and could feel the swelling going down and some muck draining down my throat. I have chronic allergies and get sinus infections, so I'm sure that's how this whole mess started.

Dear Susanna,
It wouldn't hurt to try the Apple Cider Vinegar for your swollen lymph node, and might help! You can try 1 Tablespon of the vinegar and 1 Tablespoon of honey in a mug of hot water, 2-3 times a day.
If you still have some strep infection, you could try some things for that too. Even if you don't test positive for strep, these things may be helpful. You can add some cayenne pepper to your salt water gargle. (1/4 cup water, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon cayenne. ) Do this every other hour. Put some lip balm on before hand so the cayenne doesn't bother your lips. It is very spicy, but very helpful! Also, raw garlic, one clove, minced, 4x a day. (You can put it on toast or in honey. )
Castor oil and or peppermint essential oil often help relieve swollen lymph nodes.
I hope you feel better soon. Let us know what helps!

I'm not usually one to post on forums, but I was having some of the worst pains ever from my lymph nodes and throat. I'd been taking medicine that really just wasn't helping and decided to look up a natural remedy. I came across this page and went to the grocery, got some ACV, and came home and mixed a shot with a small glass of water. WOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW
Not only can I swallow again, but my lymph nodes are 1/2 the size they were before. The effects were almost instantaneous and gradually my symptoms have been decreasing. Thank you so much to whoever made this page.

Dear Nicholas, I am wondering if the things you are doing is increasing the lymph flow (that is good--you want the lymph to flow) and it is increasing congestion in the nodes... We had something similar happen just last night. My 9 year old daughter, who has several health problems and she does get swollen lymph nodes. Well, we got a rebounder (mini-trampoline) and she jumped on it for a long time yesterday. Her lymph nodes had not been swollen but by evening, they were! I would have expected the opposite effect. It made me suspect that the jumping did the the lymph flowing and it got clogged or whatever. I had her put castor oil on the swollen glands as that has helped her in the past. This morning her glands were better. All that to say that what you are doing may be helping to some degree.
We have also used peppermint essential oil (straight or diluted with another oil) for swollen lymph nodes.
One time, when I was sick a node in my neck swelled up terribly. I made a poultice of plantain leaves and red raspberry leaves (both had been dried. ) I put them in a mug, poured boiling water over them to rehydrate them. Then I put them in a cloth and used a bandana to hold it against my swollen glands overnight. It helped immensely.
Hope you find a solution, soon!
