  • I have these bugs that come out of my scalp and some are oblong some are little black dots and some bite and burrow under my skin. I have tried most of the stuff you have suggested but nothing seems to work. Every night there are new babies you cant see but you feel them moving in mass. Right now I am taking ivermectin but even that is not slowing them down. I have seen 10 doctors and none can help or they dont want to help. When these things move they go for my ears, my anus and also my vagina. Since you guys have so much experience with this I thought I would ask. Thank you.

Wow so many mite "cures" my head is spinning. I'm here out of pure frustration, been going on 5 years being the only one in the house under attack every night. I've tried everything, just tired of spending thousands on useless so called cures.

Hi everyone, first of all I am so grateful of this website!

Thank you so much Ted for your advice and support! I have gathered so much valuable knowledge and insight. My rosacea is really bad right now, my face is extremely inflamed and my eyes are blood shot :( I can't sleep at night, my hair is dry and bleached from all the hydrogen peroxide and borax treatments. Please help!! (It's been 5 days since I started all the below treatments)

-I have been drinking borax and water daily. 1/8 borax to litre water. -Orally taking Vitamin C&D3& B12, Zinc, lysine, magnesium, flax oil and acia berry. -also went to Dr yesterday and he prescribed me antibiotic which I started yesterday monocyline - shower twice a day washing body with anti-dandruff shampoo twice, leaving on for 5 mins and rinsing then repeat. I'm using head and shoulders which contains pyrothese zinc (not sure if the spelling is right pyro..something) -washing face with borax and peroxide every morning and I have a spray bottle that I'm frequently spraying my body and hair with. - morning and night washing face with syslic acid (clean and clear) followed with zinc oxide cream 15% - twice a day drinking ACV and baking soda mixture (morning and night) - eating only fruit and veggies - 30 mins min of walking daily. - bagged all infested clothing and is in my storage for a month, then I will take out and wash everything with borax and tide. -I'm sleeping on an air mattress, changing sheets and pillow cases daily.

-Also only drinking 1 coffee per day. (No suger) I don't know what else to do, is this normal for this to be happening, blood shot eyes (I may have got a bit of lavender in them a few days ago) My face literally looks like I have been beat with a baseball bat.. Please help me, it's so embarrassing to even go to 'mart', everyone is gawking at me. any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Pests on scalp, face and eyes: I have battled these things since July '11. I've had 4 perscriptions of permithin, they are gone about 2 days and back again. I've tried oh so many remedies to no avail until now and have started Hydrogen Peroxide and Apple Cider Vinegar, and water;so far no relief. I am also using this solution on my head as well.

I am not bitten on other parts of my body other than these things getting into my very fine, thin hair. They had burrowed in my scalp and have caused crusty type scabs. I also had cataract surgery on my left eye in Apr '11 and have problems with it ever since, not healing as it should but around July after the surgery is when I started having the "pest" problem and they absolutely flock to that bad eye. I feel them all around and in the eye. I think they have burrowed on top of my nose and under the eye sockets too. Since reading how they reproduce about every 3-10 days I realized that my nose would look "bumpy" and have a couple of small round pouches under the eye socket and then would feel these things zooming all over my face and head, then the areas would be normal again for a couple of days but start all over again.

I have lots of digestive problems and am afraid to try the Borax remedy of drinking a very mild solution of it every day.

I also have used a mild house hold bleach/water mixture on my body and am wondering if I can use it also on my scalp? Since I don't have bites on my body, that may be the reason why because I put the bleach/wtr on my body but not my head?

I'm a senior and never had a bug in my life! Not even my 3 children ever had head lice or anything like this stuff and am about to lose it!!! How does one get in touch with Ted? I sure would like to hear what he would suggest... I try to say "have faith" but at this point, "have a shot" of something real strong!!!

I have tried Ted's mite remedies of baking soda (1 tsp in a glass of water/ day)for six months now and the borax topically (and as shampoo). I started drinking a liter of water with 1/8 tsp of Borax 4 days ago. My scalp is getting worse: very painful and itchy lumps. I used to have a couple at a time that would come and go in different parts of my scalp, but now I have close to twenty. I was hoping this would be a healing crisis, but I don't think it would take that long to get better. I have also tried the ACV, tea tree oil, hydrogen peroxide, garlic, coconut oil, plain yogurt, turmeric, cloves, cayenne in vodka, grapefruit oil, etc, but nothing seems to cure this disorder that appeared for the first time when I was 12 (30 years ago). My hair is falling. I don't use regular shampoo anymore. I don't take any medication. Please, I need help.

I've just moved into an infested home and didn't know what was going on until, by the process of elimination, I was able to determine that the house is full of bird mites. I have read all the suggestion but so far nothing has worked for me. I had to get up at 10 p.m. last night, throw bed linens in the wash, vacuum bed and room, then spray all that. I let the linens dry on the highest dryer setting for an hour, then made the bed, spraying each layer. I finally fell back into bed and here they came. I was so tired that I fell asleep anyway and awoke with my nose and ears full of mites. The corners of my eyes and mouth were also affected. I feel crawling all over my head and body constantly and think I may be going insane. I can't go anywhere and won't let anyone come here. My pets have to be shampooed daily, so their lives are miserable as well. I just sprinkled borax all over the house, bought some listerine for my shower later. I've been using a home made spray with aromatic oils and alcohol. The pest control sprays I've bought were useless and simply served to irritate me and the pets. This is an awful experience and one I'd never heard about until now. All comments and suggestions are welcome.
