Iodine

Thank you everyone. Iodine worked brilliantly for removing my moles. The trick was to rub them with a pumice stone or scratch them with a needle before applying the iodine 2-3 times a day. Hey presto ! Mole gone in a week to 10 days. Once the moles turn hard you can stop applying the iodine. I also found apple cider vinegar worked as well, but must be careful not to over apply as it irritates the surrounding skin (only needed to apply this for 2-3 days to kill the mole. Thanks to this site for the information, I never thought it would be so easy.

Iodine

I use tincture of iodine (everyday) on skin ulcers which refuse to heal. Sometimes I apply iodine 2 to 3 times a day. I never miss a day when treating squamous cell carcinoma. The area being treated by the tincture of iodine often becomes very sensitive or itchy...don't discontinue the iodine...keep applying iodine on the ulcer. The itchy skin will scab up...it's just the healing process. Scrape off the skin if it again develops a white flaky patch or a brown scab...then, apply more iodine. Use the iodine for at least one to two months until the skin ulcer has completely disappeared. Then, use Retin-A cream to complete the skin rejuvenation process. Use Raw Organic Palm Fruit Oil along with the iodine to promote deep healing and also use Raw Organic Palm Fruit Oil along with sun block to prevent future skin damage. The ulcer patches have developed on my hands and lower arms. One skin damaged area shows my skin separating on crease lines on top of my wrist. The day after I applied the tincture of iodine to the separating skin, the crease lines showed signs of healing, as blood circulation appeared in the area. The areas I treat are all about the size of a quarter, which is larger than the freckle-sized spot. I figure the underlying skin damage takes in a larger area and it may only show up on the skin as a small freckle-sized spot. Last, everyone will ask you why you are using iodine on your skin...it's orange...it's sooo old fashioned. Don't let the embarrassment of orangey skin stop your self-treatment...it beats having a doctor remove the cancer and leaving you with holes where the carcinoma or melanoma used to be. I use this treatment on all skin problems, to include possible melanoma. In addition to the topical treatment, I plan to add a daily dose of Lugol's Iodine in my drinking water. I want to treat all cancers and other health problems from within. I have red hair and white skin with lots of freckles, and I am very sun sensitive. I have been terribly burned year after year while growing up in California. I am now 56 years old, and the skin cancer is just starting to appear. That's why I feel it necessary to add the Lugol's Iodine daily to my drinking water.

Coconut Oil

I have used extra virgin coconut oil topically and internally for seven months. It is fantastic. I applied it topically to a pre cancerous skin lesion on my forehead at the hairline and within three days the lesion was gone! I wish I had known about the benefits of coconut oil six years ago when I underwent Mohs excision and plastic surgery on my nose for skin cancer. I could have saved myself a lot of worry, not to mention pain and nine month of plastic surgery procedures to reconstruct my nose.

Hydrogen Peroxide and Iodine

I've tried iodine and/or hydrogen peroxide 3% and they too would often get bigger and turn black but with enough time, it always worked. I liked to visualize they got bigger as the inside mole was working its way outside :)

Iodine and the Scratching Method

Iodine Tincture and Scratch Method

This method works for me 90% of the time. Occasionally I have to do it twice if the mole starts to come back. I do this with slightly raised and tiny flat moles on my face if they appear from sun exposure (yes, I wear sunscreen daily).

I scrape the mole with a new toothpick (not a needle) until it turns pink and I can see the top layer of skin is off (avoid the surrounding area, you only want to scratch the mole).

Then I apply iodine tincture (which stings very much) and apply it 2x daily until it scabs over (usually within 1-2 days). I leave the scab on for 2 days until I deem it ready enough to pull off without causing excessive pain or trauma to the skin. Even when it's scabbed over I apply the iodine 2x daily.

Once I deem it ready to peel off with ease, I pull it off and then apply the tincture again (which still hurts a lot). At this point the skin doesn't scab anymore and instead turns into a pink dot on my face. I continuously apply the tincture daily until the dot is near disappearing- then I stop. At which point the mole is gone and now the skin only has to heal. (Keep in mind, it doesn't look bad- just like a pink dot). 2-3 weeks after it heals I'll be able to tell whether or not it's gone for good. If it starts to come back (it will start to look like a darkening freckle) I repeat the process until it's gone for good. Most of the time it only takes 1 time, at most 2. I never repeat the cycle in the same month. Only every 2-3 if it comes back.

It WILL come back if you get a lot of sun exposure in the area so wear sunscreen and protect your skin. :)

Iodine, Hydrogen Peroxide

Thank you for publishing information about this cures. I used iodine and Hydrogen peroxide on 2 moles and got free of them. The first was pea-size and it was cleared after 2 weeks in May and June. It healed, but the skin is still pink. The second mole was 3mm in diameter . I painted it with Iodine once a day for 3 days. Then I soaked it with Hydrogen peroxide for about 15 minutes, I poked it with a pin and it burst, something white drop off and the pink skin appeared . There was no scab, it still hurts, but I am happy I got rid of it. Thank you earth clinic.

I have had good results with iodine painted on moles. From one huge black mole to a barely noticeable light brown mark now. I painted on the iodine at night, after a few weeks I was away on holiday and when I came back was not as regular with the routine but the mole was fading. I stopped for a while and the mole just kept on fading. I will start again now and see if the last bit disappears.

Hi, I've had a 1cm raised mole under my bra strap for many years. Decided to try to get rid of it. Over a 2 week period I applied iodine (Lugol's solution) about 4 times and applied tt oil every day... Sometimes twice a day. When I applied the tto I could feel gritty material coming away as it broke up. I think the iodine actually "killed" the thing though. Only took 2 weeks! Good luck everyone! Ann.

Castor Oil

For moles and skin tags use castor oil, it is cheaper, safer than black bloodroot paste, why pay $20.00 for 2oz. when you can buy castor oil for 4 or 5 bucks for a whole bottle.

Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

Anti-dandruff shampoo cures moles. All you need is to scratch your mole, massage and leave the shampoo over the scratched mole. It will make a scab and it will fell off. Scaring is minimal. Keep applying the shampoo until the scab falls by itself in about 2-4 weeks.

I have tried all methods and applying Anti-dandruff shampoo to a scratched mole until the scab falls is by far the best method.

Hydrogen Peroxide, Aloe Vera

So here it goes!

I am 18 years old and i had a mole on my cheek 5mm in diameter and slightly elevated. I wanted it desperately removed since i got it(5 years old), so when i was 15 i went to the dermatologist to have it removed. The dermatologist performed a shaving of the upper layer and then an electrocauterization(pretty painful). She told me to revisit her in 15 days. Well i went there after 15 days and guess what, the mole was still there.

She told me to come back in 3 months time because it was summer and she couldnt repeat the surgery again due to the sun. Because it would make my mole worse. I watched it over the summer getting a bit better. The swelling had gone away and it was a bit lighter. So i went to my dermatologist some days before the school started. The same procedure except for the shaving occured and i must admit that it was much better than before. The swelling went away after 1 month but i realised than not only the mole was there, under my skin this time like a big sun spot, but it was formed like clusters of small moles that looked like a melanoma, a condition also know as pseudomelanoma. In the following year i went to several plastic surgeon and all said that they couldnt remove it without leaving a very visible scar. I was so depressed, i had tried everything. From internet remedies such as lemon juice to expensive creams containing hydroquinone and other harmful chemicals only to leave my skin swelled.

I kept fighting my mole desperately till on month ago. I was doing a project on chemistry for the school. My research at that day was on oxidisers, so i came across hydrogen peroxide. That molecule was so fascinating. So i decided to research more on it. As i was searching a came across some articles about hydrogen peroxide and moles. I told my self, here is someting i havent tried yet. I searched on google and i found here at earth clinic may testimonials about mole cures and hydrogen peroxide. I was so amazed! It could even cure melanoma! So after extensive searching i decide that i should give it a try!

I went at the pharmacy and bought 3% hydrogen peroxide.

I then went home and soaked a piece of cotton a little bit bigger than my mole and kept rubbing it on the area for 10 minutes. Then i rinsed the area with water and applied a cotton soaked with aloe vera juice. I did this for 3 days 3 times a day and kept a cotton soaked with aloe juice overnight. At first hydrogen peroxide seemed that it did nothing but after the second application the area started to bubble and at the second day it started to sting. As i woke the third day a scab had formed. I decided not to mess with it because it would increase chances of scaring. After 9 applications of hydrogen peroxide for ten minutes then aloe(as much as the cotton soaked with aloe stayed wet) and then overnight applications of aloe i stopped using hydrogen peroxide. I kept using aloe overnight though until day five. Then i started applying petrolium jelly on the scab as often as i could, sometimes overnight to minimize scaring as i works like silicone sheets which are very costly(i also used petrolium jelly on the area everytime i would bath). 3 day ago(15 day after the treatment with hydrogen peroxide started) i woke up and noticed i had little to no scab and that at the place where the mole was i had skin which was a bit pink. I was stunt! I said, wow it actualy worked! And here i am 18 days after the first application completly healed :D. I am very thankful for earthclinic because it changed my life my this remedy!

Thank you earthclinic!! :D

Coconut Oil
Posted by Simbu (Brisbane, Australia) on 09/02/2010

This is exactly what my sister did. She used Cold Pressed coconut oil. Rubbed it twice a day for 2 months and the moles on her face both rolled off one day in pieces. I did it for 6 weeks and did not continue all the moles reduced to one third of the size. I changed countries and had trouble finding cold pressed coconut oil. Back on it again as I have about 10 to get rid of.

Iodine (liquid) worked for me to remove raised mole. I'd recommend puting vaseline around the area to avoid irriation of surrounding skin. I was skeptical, but iodine actually worked.

Coconut Oil

Quite by accident, I found out that coconut oil gets rid of moles.

I had a light coloured mole on my chest which got bigger quite rapidly, but didn't change colour. It was still pinkish/flesh coloured. At the time I was using coconut oil as a body moisturiser. To my surprise, I discovered that the oil "loosened" the mole and it came off my skin without any residue or pain or scarring.

I have a large black mole at the base of my spine which has been there all my life. I'm now using the coconut oil to remove it too. It's become looser and softer as I deliberately target it with lots of the oil. I'm expecting it to come away in the shower any day now.

A word of warning though. Don't force the mole to come off. You don't want it bleeding and scabbing over. The oil will take it away without any damage to the underlying skin.

Bloodroot Paste

★☆☆☆☆

WARNING!

WARNING! Used Bloodroot Paste combined with Zinc Oxide 7 days again. It has been a nightmare and I would NEVER recommend anyone to use this. Especially, if you are like me and had a few small facial moles that really weren't even noticable. They are now. One eschar has fallen out onto a cotton ball but left behind some white matter. The others are still attached and one is swollen and looks infected. One in sunken into the side of my nose and I imagine I'll have a crater once it falls out. The surrounding area that I applied the Bloodroot paste turned into a mess of pustules and spots of dying skin. So, far, they have started to dry up a bit but I've been unable to leave the house due to the redness, swelling and unsightly mess all over my face. I have broken out on my neck and my entire face with red bumps. Obviously, I am either allergic or the formula was very strong ( Ebay). I am now waiting to see how severe the damage will be and it is a waiting game to find out how badly I am scarred. I feel stupid and so angry at myself that I attempted this on my face. All the glowing reports are so misleading. Nothing could have prepared me for the way this product affected my skin. It literally appeared that my skin was being eaten away by acid~ Don't do this.

Bloodroot Paste
Posted by Gail (Sacramento, California) on 07/05/2010

Sorry to hear some are having bad experiences with bloodroot salve. The best black salve I've used for years contains bloodroot, galangal, sheep sorrel and red clover. It works on surface skin moles and warts as well as tumors beneath the skin because it kills the growth and it's roots underneath the skin. ESSENTIAL to know however, is that the user should leave the paste ONLY 12 hours. Then the paste should be thoroughly washed off removing every particle of the salve, preferably with peroxide. Vitamin E should then be applied to the wound itself, and vaseline to the bandage to prevent sticking. The wound should be redressed the same way, vitamin E on the wound and vaseline on a clean bandage 2-4 times per day. It is ESSENTIAL the user understand that to remove moles with roots or tumors beneath the skin, that the area must be kept very moist and completely covered. The growth will return ONLY if you have not killed the roots. Be prepared to witness the mini "volcano" reaction as your body pushes bits of the growth right through the skin, bit by bit. Resist the temptation to pull or prod anything off. Allow your body to push out the debris on it's own time. Just keep the area clean, moist and covered and your body will do the rest. If you've had the misfortune of harming or burning facial skin, vitamin E will help repair skin damage at the cellular level. Be sure to use natural vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) liberally on those areas at night. If facial growths or moles are small and appear to be without roots, a good alternative to black salve that isn't as strong is ACV or Logol's iodine. But again, apply vitamin E to surrounding skin as they can also burn skin. Many health experts also recommend taking vitamin A internally to protect the skin from further unwanted skin growths. I hope this helps!

EC: Thanks, Gail! Your feedback is being cross-posted to the Bloodroot page under "Application Tips".

I've had mixed results with castor oil. Some moles would shrink in size instantly and others would take a few months. Some moles were not affected at all. I heard that mixing castor oil and baking soda would work well together, but it didn't help me at all.

ACV, Garlic and Iodine
Posted by Rivercrosser (Brunei) on 06/22/2008

Hi Jessica, I tried the garlic method on my moles for 2 days only. I do not perceive any sign of them becoming scabs, rather, they become more protruding and bigger! Is that normal? I get a bit worried and feel like trying the iodine method instead. Any advice? Thanks much.

ACV, Garlic and Iodine
Posted by K.L (Omaha, N.E.) on 05/30/2009

I have removed several moles with ACV. Only one took more than a couple of days. I put moisted qtip and held till I could really feel it working. Would do this a couple times a day making sure only to stay on the mole or wart. After I felt like it was gone I cleansed and put hydrogen peroxide,.made sure to keep it clean and they healed in a couple of days. It is a good idea to put a little vasaline around the area you are going to treat to protect from getting burned. Just be sure you dont get it on the wart or mole. I would not cover it while healing as it tends to not heal as fast and will have trouble scabbing so it can heal.

ACV, Garlic and Iodine

After reading the posts I decided to give the remedy a try on a mole ive had on my nose since I was born. The mole was raise and very darkly pigmented, about the size of a pea.

I used a safety pin to make laserations on te surface of the mole and at the base. Fair warning, there was bleeding and stinging. Using a cotton swab I applied petroleum jelly around the perimeter of the mole. Throughout the day, I dabbed the mole with vinegar, every couple of hours or so.

At night, I cut a thin slice of garlic about the size of the mole. Using the point of the knife I poked at it to get it juicy. I placed the little garlic piece over the mole and secured it into place with a bandaid. I left it on over night.

I repeated this method for five days. On the second day the mole began to scab over. After five days the mole looked pretty shriveled and was completely scabbed.

I let the scab fall off and heal. The mole was not completely removed, but I would say it is about 65% gone and the voulume of it was reduced significantly. I will be repeating the procedure to further remove the mole.

ACV, Garlic and Iodine
Posted by Zobo (Fresno, Ca) on 04/13/2012

When you guys say "roughen up" the area first before applying ACV... do you just scratch the mole with a needle but make sure it doesnt bleed or what? Can you be a little more descriptive? Thank you.

ACV, Garlic and Iodine
Posted by Mikey (Mission Viejo, Ca) on 06/04/2012

I found that instead of using a needle or a pin to roughen the edges before you apply ACV or garlic, using a nail file works well too and you won't bleed. Gently scratch the surface but make sure you dont't get the surrounding skin! Once the scab is formed don't pick it! Apply coconut oil or shea butter over the scab and surrounding skin to minimize scarring! Good luck

A nevus is little black pigmented spot on the skin, sometimes called a beauty spot. Mine was flat, about 6-7 mm in diameter and near my neck and slightly elevated. It's been there for probably 20 years.

I dipped a q-tip in 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide and applied it to the nevus only for a few seconds and then mopped the excess with the dry end of the q-tip. It burned a little, especially on later applications. I applied liquid vitamin A a few minutes afterwards to decrease the burning and promote healing. I did 3-4 applications over a period of a week. It fell off completely after a week and has not returned. My wife was very impressed. I'm not recommended this approach, but simply reporting my personal experiment. I've been experimenting with Bill Munro's inhaling approach for a little over a week. It appears to be working well. My energy has just about doubled and I'm breathing much better at night.

Iodine is excellent for toenail fungus, ringworm, fever blisters, moles and skin tags, hangnails, etc. Just a few drops on a q-tip is all it takes. Use daily until the "boo-boo" is gone.
