Multiple Remedies

I start to noticed that my son had an MC and it was mostly on his thigh and legs around 80 of them. He was 10 y.o. I think he got it from his swimming lesson. I had to stop his lesson after learning from it. We consulted the doctor and it was confirmed. We're told that we do not need to do anything and it will just go away. He even referred us to a pedeatric dermatologist but the waiting period was 6 months( typical Melbourne health service).
Then I search the internet and saw this site. I learned a lot and applied the medications. The first week showed a lot of improvement. These is what I did.
Shower in the evening and applied the ACV on every MC. I used cotton balls by getting a small piece of it. Just enough to cover the MC.
Cover the affected thigh and legs with a bondage to hold the cotton balls. Smells vinegar on the first few days but better than having MC! Washed the bondage so it can be re-used.
Shower in the morning to get rid of vinegar smell and applied the papaya cream. The cream is for the skin not to get dry and get rejuvinated from the burn of the ACV. Dry skin cracks and the virus nows has an opening to get in and spreads.
Always changed the towel and PJs after used to stop the spreading.
When the MC become a blister and burst I always applied honey. To help the tissues to recover and heals quickly. I used a small container and put a teaspoon of honey and used cotton tip. Used a different tip for every single MC that burst. Scabs will form after a day or two.Bed sheets has to be replaced every week. You need a lot of patience to combat this MC. The MC was gradually reducing. Only thing left was a scaring and a bit discoloration on the skin. It will become normal after a few weeks. After 3 months of battle we finally won.
What I don't understand is why the medical profession always says "You do not need to do anything. It will go away".
Clove Oil
Posted by Clove Oil Works (Orlando, Fl) on 11/08/2012
I applied the clove oil at 100%. That said it is NOT recommended. You should dilute it per recommendation at 20/80 clove oil to coconut oil or a carrier oil. The face is tender skin. If you put it on undiluted or even 50/50. It will sting for about 10 minutes. Not bad just wow warm. Don't use if you have medical conditions... Etc. depending on the size of the MC, small ones will only need a couple days if clove oil applied with a q-tip, and then they will get a tiny scab in the center and they are dead. Mature ones might take a week or two. But NOTHING out there works as quickly or painlessly without damaging the skin like clove oil. PS. It also cured a coworkers jungle rot. You don't need to cover it with band aids. Just dab the spot with the clove oil mix. Let it soak in and forget about it. I put this out on the web in June 2012 and I have found many people who have replied that it worked for them. Please let us know your results.

Hello everyone. for the last few years, I, too, have suffered from mc, - on my face! So, I am very leary of treating with the acidic apple cider vinegar (acv) and had more questions about the clove oil treatment.
#cowb in orlando, fl, if you're out there, you wrote that you applied the clove oil directly. My questions: how often did you aply the oil and how did you apply it? did you put it on cotton or some other carrier and bandaid it as with the acv? thx ahead of time. I want these little guys gone...

A mother wrote an interesting blog entry using aromatherapy to cure her toddler's molluscum contagiosum. It's very informative and she posts photos of her little boy and his progress. It did take several months but the spots haven't come back. It's posted on a site that sells essential oils but you can buy essential oils just about anywhere these days. It's the information that is useful. For what it's worth:
http://naturesgiftaromatherapy.blogspot.ca/2012/09/more-on-molluscum-contagiosum.html
Lemon myrtle is usually applied to adult skin but the mother found it too harsh on her son so she used Ravensara in Calophyllum.
Hope this helps someone.

Hey, so I was told I had folliculitis at first and tried the cream they gave me but it didnt seem to help. I decided to get a second opinion and was told it was mulluscom. I went to this site and read all the info. about Apple Cider Vinegar and even though I was skeptical I decided to try it. I soaked cotton balls in it and duct taped them to my legs and genital area over night.. Had about 10 bumps. Woke up the next day and they were completely black!!! I was shocked!! I repeated this cycle and they all scabbed and began healing in a week!
Please, if you are skeptical, before you buy the expensive creams/lotions/harsh wart solutions, please try this! You have nothing to lose! Make sure to buy the organic acv, that worked best for me! For those of you on here who say it's not an std, I am curious why you think that because everywhere on the internet is scareing the hell out of me saying it is an std and that something is wrong with my immune system in order to catch this. I do not sleep around but havnt been perfect in my lifetime! I am really depressed and worried about that, any reassurance would help! Thank you so much for all the posts!

My 4th year daughter diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum , it started with about 25 spots , we take her to the dermatologist , and he adviced us to make a cryotherapy to remove it - it was abad experince for my daughter because it was painful - we did it because it was a fast solution to prevent spreading the virus to other areas on her body , after 2 weeks I noticed a small spots with a numerous numbers all over her hands and legs , we were shoked from that , so we took her again to her dermatologist , he adviced us to paint Benzac 5% all over her legs and arms , of course I did not listen to him , because Benzac 5% it an irritating medicine it will casue a pain and my daughter and she may scratch it - Because of benzac - and this will lead to spread the virus to other areas on her body or to us ...
Since I live in Jordan where dead sea locate in , I know Many people come from all over world to the dead sea to enjoy there and to treat many skin diseases such as psoriasis , even when I was in Jordan - now im living in other country - I used to go with my family and friends to swim in the dead see , and paint our bodies with this mud , By the way this mud is very rich of minerals especially sulfur and it has astrange texture because it lays under the most salted sea in the deepest point in the world , where you cant find and creature live in because of heigh concentration of the salt and minerlas - except some kind of Bacteria where discovered recently - , by the way and many cosmatic companies used this mud in their product ....
so I decided to use Dead Sea mud , and I started to paint my Daughter arms and leg with her cheek ( because it start to appear on that area ) with that mud , when me and my wife finished from painting our daughter , she was look like a Mumy :) .... we left the mud for 15 minutes on her body till it become dried , then we wash her by water and we used Dettol shower gel , after shwer we noticed that the spots become large , inflamed and red , we were woried , I asked my daughter honey do you feel any pain or itching , she said no. after a few hours the spots come back to its normal size and shape , we repeated the treatment for 5 consecutive days , all the spot become dried and their size become smaller , so we decided to stop painting , now most of the spot gone and the remaing is very small , really I was happy for that result , I want to share this experience with all people whom suffering from MC , By the way from my experince Dead see mud will leave your skin clean , soft , without any irritation or dryness , its not toxic like Clove oil non irritanat like Apple cide vineger , Sorry if my english languge was not fluent ....

Its me again, thanks god most of the spot gone within one week, still one big white spot we did not treat it by the mud, we used to treat it by painting it by Benzac 5% then cover it by medical plaster, Because we were afraid that my daughter scratch it, - and as you know these white spots contains a liquid rich in th MC virus, and this liquid in very contagious ....
Any how today we put Dead sea Mud on that spot for 15 minutes, I think it will work because after we clean the mud we see some blood, we put some Betadine and cover it again by a medical plaster ...
Dead sea Mud, Its is a great treatment for the spots of MC, we paint these these spots twice a day, wthin 1 week all become dry, small, then disappered, I recomend it strongly, it has no side effect, it is not toxic or cancerous material like clove oil, no irritation like Apple cider vineger, no dryness effect, it will leave your skin sfot and clean.

It is me again, this is the 4th day from treating my daughter from MC by Dead sea mud. we found that all spots with white heads become black and dried. I'm not sure if the size decreased, we will continue on that treatment and see what will happened.... By the way I read on the net about using clove oil for treating MC and I found that tgis oil is toxic and cancerous material for human being , if you want to use it you have to dilute it.

Hi, before a six month my four years old daughter diagnosed with MC. It start to appear in her upper legs that time there was about 25 spot in both leg, so her dermatologist suggest to remove it by cryotherapy. I know it is painful procedure but I decide to do it because I was afraid to scratch it. Any how me and my wife were happy because all has been removed but before a few weeks it start to reappear again so we decide to use Benzac 5% on the new one. After a few days these spots become dry and disppeared. We thought at that moment that the problem was finished. UNFORTUNATELY, we discoverd a very small numerous number of MC on her both small arms, they were very small and almost cover her arms and start to cover her left cheek. We were shocked. Her dermatologist said we can do nothing just give her a multivitamins which contain Zinc because Zinc will boost her immunity to fight the virus, also he advised us to put Benzac 5% every other days with a moisturizer cream (Bioderma PO zinc) cuz that cream will cause dryness and irritaion for her skin .....
I was very sad for her then I had an idea. What if I use Dead sea mud on her arms and legs to see what will happened . Especially that this mud is used to treat various types of skin disease such as Psoriasis and acne. Actually I'm living in Jordan( where dead Sea locate in) and I used to put that mud on my body when I go to swim in Dead sea, actually it tighten your skin, make it smooth, and it has an exfoliating effect cuz it is rich in sulfur and other minerals , Before two days I started to put Dead sea mud on her skin and we leave it for 15 minutes till it become dry then we wash it with water and Dettol shower gel. We noticed that after shower all the spots become big, red, and inflamed but after one hour they come back to its normal size. Some of these spots become white, really I dont know what that mean?? Is it a good sign or not... I hope it will work and I will tell you what will happened within a few weeks with her. Sorry if my english language was not fluent ....

My 8 year old son got MC about last winter and it spread like mad over the summer. First we tried apple cider vinegar - it worked a little but burned and itched. He also had so many lesions that I was concerned about spreading them every time I used a cotton ball to dab the ACV on. Tried clove oil (no change at all), tea tree oil (dried his skin out and itched), and boosted his immunity with vitamins and probiotics. Nothing worked until we tried Colloidal Silver. Within 2 days of ingesting 1 tsp/day and spraying his body topically, almost half of the lesions in his armpit (which was covered) were gone. He was also pain free from the itching and burning. We are 4 days in and every day the improvement is tremendous. I bought it over the counter at Whole Foods and can't believe the change. He is thrilled and I am so relieved that something finally worked!

We have been trying the clove oil mixed with wheat germ oil (both are supposed to be good for immunity and antiviral) once a day after a shower for the past week on my three year old. The spots which had been spreading up his side into his armpit are going away, but unfortunately the bumps are still spreading. I would recommend trying the clove oil for the body, however, I would not use this oil on the face near the eyes. The oil is strong and I am still working out if it is too strong to put on the bumps directly. The major plus about it is that it doesn't dry out the skin as badly as the Apple Cider Vinegar applications which we tried for about two weeks with lots of crying because it burned... Even when diluted.

CLOVE OIL! CLOVE OIL! CLOVE OIL! I caught molluscum from a sauna at the gym, I had a hard time getting rid of most of them. I tried ACV and that just irritated my skin and made things worse. I ordered the strongest Tea Tree oil on the market from Melaleuca, that worked a little better but it took quite a while. After 8 months I thought they had all gone away but apparently I had one little spot that stuck around for another 4-5 months, I didnt realize what it was and scratched it. Well needless to say, it spread to about 7 bumps. I was devistated, then I found this thread and someone had mentioned clove oil. I got 100% pure clove oil, applied it to the spots and within hours the spots were smaller and almost gone. I applied the oil 4 times and over night, they had all disapeared! I was amazed and so relieved! Try clove oil! Just be careful because it seriously burns if you get in the wrong areas by accident. I have a hypothyroidism which causes my immune system to be weaker than normal, so I thought I would never be cured of this. With much praying and much effort of not irritating the spots, and dialy upkeep of oils and cleansing I am happily free of the ailment!!! Good luck to everyone, I hope my advice helped someone. Prayers and Clove oil!

Apple tree wash is a gel based product that is infused with Apple pectin to help balance your skins pH. It has ACV, Salicylic Acid, and tea tree oil to fight against bacteria and oils. I used it on my 5 yr old who had Mollusum and it really got the job done. I highly recommend this product. I bought mine at a trade show and the owner who is a real nice guy said think they are coming online and to stores real soon.

Clove oil..... Clove oil..... Clove oil..... It works fast.... Clove oil worked in a couple days and doesn't hurt or damage the skin. Did the ACV and it worked okay, but just hurt my 2 yr old too much. Tried zymaderm, didn't work. Tried clove oil applied directly too spots (my bottle was over 8 yrs old so I applied direct, but probably dilute with carrior oil if new(some say their oil is strong enough undiluted to blister. So be careful, don't get it too strong). It should only be a mild tingle if anything when applied. First the spot gets a little raised and inflamed around it. Then the horrible little spots get a dark spot in the center within a couple days of 2 applications per day and fall out. Killed them dead. Finally something that works, if I had only known at the beginning, he would have only had 15 spots to treat not 50. Clove oil, who knew.

All, I am so so sorry to hear how hard your treatment has been. Fortunately my treatment has not yet been so bad. I how ever have been the same. I have the hardest time not picking and popping.... Err. What has worked for me?
#1 Soak 15 min. Or more in bath, add several drops of 100% tea tree oil from any health food store. Pat dry, with a CLEAN towel. (This is important; MC is very contagious and can be spread through clothing, towels, physical contact, etc. MC is not just an STD, and many times people are misled to believing so. )
#2 Mix a few drops of the tea tree oil with natural oil, even olive oil or coconut oil is great. Rub the oil on the area. Using the mixture will help keep the irritation down to a minimum.
#3 With a Q-tip or cotton ball apply ACV. If you are going to keep the ACV on the area, secure with a band aid. (If the area becomes sore, remove the band aid and apply a very small amount of olive oil or coconut oil (whatever you used with your tea tree mixture. ) Let the area sit uncovered for a while. It is good to let the area air dry though the oil does prevent dryness. This is why using a small amount is necessary. If dressing right away is a must, recover the area with a band aid and you're on your way.
TIPS
Leggings, tights, and slacks are always a good idea, under jeans or however. Jeans tend to rub against your legs, etc. This also goes for underwear. Underwear are made for comfort and moving, also can rub in the wrong place (ladies).
It's OK to take a BREAK. There is no need to make be miserable!! So far, I have had some pretty amazing results. I have a small amount of irritation on a few of the larger bumps, nothing like any of you sad, ouch! Also, I itch. I hate itching.
Keep in mind; I have several from my knees to my belly. Most are very tiny. Kind of looks like razor burn. I have suffered from MC for over 15 years, with several misdiagnoses.
I hope this helps... Good luck...
Apple Cider Vinegar, Lemon Myrtle and Tea Tree Oil

This will be my first ever posting on the internet for I simply could not help share my personal cure for molluscum. After reading countless sites and forums over a period of a year I found the only thing I could to rid myself of molluscum, of which I endured for over a year until very recently! A truly horrible experience I have to add!
Firstly I would like to say please ensure you are very careful to not pass this on as I had no physical contact for over a year and was at my wits end. Be vigiliant as other people tell you keep the infected areas clean and try and use handtowels to dry this area, and wash them regularly as you don't want to spread them over the rest of your body, for they soon spread!
Anyhow I tried numerous concoctions such as expensive creams from the dermatoligist, also creams such as Dr Wheatgerm's, nail polish, canesten and numerous other things; but never bleach as some suggest though by the need of it I was nearly willing to try. So basically the only thing that worked, for me, was a mixture of tea tree oil, lemon myrtle (difficult to get hold of though) and Raw Organic apple cider vinegar. By themselves these were not that efficent, though teatree was somewhat effective. Basically I mixed these in a bottle along with some water to dilute the ACV etc and applied with cotton balls or make up pads. However, if I had a large one appearing I would soak the cotton ball a little (but only enough to cover the infected area) and use medical tape and tape them on overnight, or simply treat as many times a day as you can. In a matter of weeks they were all gone!!!
A note of warning though be mindful of not exposing unaffected skin to ACV as it can leave burns, although the markings have dissapeared. Just be sure to use the cloudy organic ACV as the normal ACV is useless! Good luck and hope this helps.

Does anyone have experience with MC on their face or tongue? All discussion here has been about the skin, but what happens when it goes beyond that? I was MC free for a year, went into a friends hot tub, and red spots appeared. Thought nothing of it, til I spotted red spots on my tongue, which soon spread to the back of my throat (I take it they transferred from my body to my girls, where I picked it up orally). Any suggestions on this? I've soaked a cotton ball in ACV and left it on my tongue as long as possible, I gargle with 1/2 ACV/1/2 water, but still they remain. This virus sucks- I'm just hoping it can't pass beyond my tongue/throat and cause internal problems.

Well about a year ago I noticed a few bumps on my 7 year old, I went to his dr and was told that it was eczema and was given meds that have not worked at all. The MC spread to his back buttocks knees and arms and now my 4 year old has a few on him. I finally went to a derm. And was told that it was MC and he told me to use scotch tape and tap the bumps 20-30 times each a couple times a day. So for about 2 weeks I have been doing that and I have noticed a change they are starting to go away. It is a pain in the butt to do but so far is drying them out. A couple days ago I started ACV as well so hopefully that will start working. I also read that if the virus is on arms or any exposed areas and the kids have to go to school or whatever to put clear nailpoish over the bumps so the virus can't spread.

When my son was 3 years old, he had 6 of these MC bumps show up on his stomach. I took him to the doctor who diagnosed it as molluscum and said it will just run it's course and should be gone within 3 - 6 months. Well, 6 months later they had multiplied to over 200 all over his stomach, legs, arms, face... Everywhere. The only options the doctor gave me were to burn them off or apply a cream. I opted to do neither, and went home and started searching for natural remedies. I tried the apple cider vinegar for a short while, but he had eczema in addition to the mc and the Apple Cider Vinegar just made it more painful.
My aunt, who works at a health food store, recommended elderberry. I bought [an immunity booster] which is made from elderberry and gave him 1 tablet a day for 2 months. Within 2 weeks, you could see those disgusting little bumps start drying out. Within a month, they had all disappeared, but I continued giving him an additional months dose just to make sure the virus was eradicated. It's been 3 years now and he hasn't had anymore show up.

Just an update... I have been giving my daughter the grapefruit seed extract (2 drops in a 6 oz. Glass OJ) once daily for 4 weeks now. All of the molluscum are gone from her neck with only very faint scars. She has just 2-3 very
tiny bumbs on her chest left. I plan to keep this up for another 2-3 weeks to make sure they are all gone and then wean her off of it.
FYI... The molluscum bumps will look worse before the fall off. They turn red, a little white "core" comes out of the center and then they scab over and then fall off. I made a point of never touching them and just letting them fall off on their own. This technique really seemed to work and was much easier for me then trying to swab her with ACV (she hated that). So grateful to have learned of GSE... It has resolved 2 seperate skin issues in the last year for our family.
Apple Cider Vinegar, Antiseptic Powder

My 3 yr old son has molluscum on his belly and side. We went to the Dr. and he said there wasn't much he could do and that it would go away on its own. I started researching Molluscum and foud that it is extremely contagious and it spreads like wild fire. I searched for home remedies, and found ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) Treatment. I started putting the ACV on the cotton balls and putting then on the Molluscum with band-aids. I let him sleep with it over night. My son had about 7 of them. I also give him ACV baths with 8 cups of ACV to a full tub and one cup of salt, which it is used to draw out the dormant ones and the ACV then kills the virus. I let him soak there for about 30 minutes or more if he likes. After just one night of doing the cotton balls, I could tell that the molluscum were responding. One of them turned bloody dark like a scab. I continued with the treatment, and I had 4 more turned bloody dark like a scab. There are 3 more that are a bit stubborn, but I will keep trying. Also, put neosporin on all of them and covered them during the day. When you put the cotton balls, try a little piece of cotton on the Molluscum if the Molluscun is spread out, that way you can avoid any irritation to the skin around it.
I was wondering if anyone here has done the ACV treatment and can tell me when it is safe to stop the ACV cotton ball treatment? I also want to know if I should put more or less than 8 cups in the bath?

Thank you guys for taking time to share your exexperiences! ACV really does miracles! We have been fighting with my son's Molluscum for the past 2 years. It's been 5 days since we started treating his bumps, located on his face and they started getting black, ugly and scab.
My concern is that it will leave scars, because he's only 4 years old and his skin is still very delicate.
Did you notice scars after the treatment and is there a way to prevent that?
Thank you~~

First of all, I'm sorry if you have this! I'm 22 and I had MC starting several months ago. It was just one large skin-colored bump on my pubic area and after it stayed there for several weeks to about a month I popped it like you would a pimple. Big mistake! I got the white core and it bled quite a lot. I had no idea what MC was until several more of these bumps showed up a bit later. Went to the doc because I was freaking out about an STD but she said it could be MC but it definitely wasn't an STD (even though it's caracterized as such above).
I read all about treatments and such and I went to a dermatologist who did nothing for me so I turned to the forums on this topic. ACV was the best option and I used the band aids with a soaked cotton ball on each one. It worked eventually but I was sloppy with how I applied the ACV and bandaids and I also couldn't resist the urge to pop some of them, which only makes it worse.
My advice is to:
1. Don't touch them! And if you do, wash your hands thoroughly.
2. Go to the store and get ACV, latex/vinyl gloves, cotton pads or gauze, Q tips, Neosporin, iodine, tea tree oil soap (Trader Joe's has this for cheap), and lastly bandaids. Don't skimp on the bandaids as I did. I recommend Nexcare waterproof bandaids - the adhesive is clear surrounding all the way around the pad.
3. Take a shower with tea tree oil soap, rub iodine with a Q tip all around the affected area(s), put the gloves on one or both hands (it's easier to apply the bandaids without a glove), cut small precise and correctly sized pieces of cotton that is smaller than the pad of the bandaids, and finally soak the cotton in ACV and carefully place it on the area and cover with the bandaid so that all of the ACV stays in.
4. Wash your hands thoroughly and leave them on for about 24 hours.
5. The next day, remove the bandaids and take a shower with tea tree oil. The MC should look white or black in the middle of each bump. Black means the virus is dead, and white is at least a sign of progress.
Continue monitoring the bumps, you can put some neosporin on them to help heal and reduce scarring, or continually dab them with ACV. I would use the tea tree oil for a while until you're sure there are no more bumps. ACV baths also may help. I don't recommend popping them because it's pretty risky and you could spread it.
Damaged skin may be a problem. I have scarring from most of the bumps I had so try to be very careful with applying the ACV cotton pieces and bandaids.
Good luck!
