I'm 66 years old and had very dark age spots covering both cheeks from my eyes downward to my chin. I also had smaller spots on my nose and forehead. The spots were so bad that I was considering acid peels from a dermatologist, even though I am not in favor of them.

One month ago, I decided to try unfiltered, unpasteurized ACV with the mother to help with my mild Roseacia. I only have small capillaries around my nose and on my chin. However, I felt like I should apply the vinegar to my whole face but didn't know why.

I was very surprised to discover that I love the smell and the feeling of the apple cider vinegar on my face. I have been applying it morning and evening for 30 days. I do not rinse my face afterward. And I don't apply moisturizer after the vinegar.

My face looks noticeably clearer, brighter, and softer! The age spots are definitely fading all over my face. My husband and others close to me have seen the difference in my skin.

I did originally break out on my nose and chin, but those blemishes are gone now. The ACV did not make my skin feel dry or cause it to peel, either.

I am going to continue to apply ACV to my face and will be starting to apply it to my forearms and hands.

I read somewhere that unpasteurized and unfiltered ACV contains acetic, lactic, and hyaluronic acids. The last two are often found in anti-aging skin products.

I will stop back and give an update sometime in January of 2024.

I have found that, rather than drying skin, apple cider vinegar (or indeed any vinegar) has a moisturising and softening effect. There is no need to mix it with oil. I use distilled malt vinegar (white vinegar) as a cheap hand cream. Now, my hands react very badly to soap or any detergent, which both cause awful itching and dryness that keep me awake at night. So I started using the vinegar as a way to re-acidify my skin (natural pH 5.5) after washing in soap (which is alkaline and has a pH or around 8 or higher). Through this practice, I discovered vinegar was more effective than hand cream for moisturising and way better than putting petrochemicals on your skin. But I also noticed that the age spots on my hands were disappearing. After 6 months of using every night and during the day whenever I wash my hands with soap (very frequently these days), I have virtually no visible age spots left - just pale marks. At this rate, within another 6 months they should have gone. This is not from using ACV, simply white vinegar.

I've tried several things to get rid of age spots and I finally found something that worked really well. Make a paste out of baking soda and ACV, apply to your face or the areas you want to clear, leave for 15 minutes rinse with warm water and wash your face. Finish with a cold splash of water, pat dry. I then use a very light moisturizer because I am 55 😊 However, recently I did discover that if I just get a Q-tip and dip in the ACV only and apply on the age spots directly they go away much quicker. Either way I do this before I go to bed every night and I've had amazing results!

After seeking several different methods to clear up several skin issues and failing, I was ready to go see another dermatologist

I came across this board and with so many positive reviews about ACV, I went and purchased a bottle of organic ACV with mother. I have several skin issues that really are bothersome especially sun damage on my face. I treated the following:

Actinic Keratoses on my face and arms. Brown solar spots on my face. And the most difficult, atopic dermatitis patches(eczema)on my legs. I applied un diluted ACV 2x per day with a q-tip directly to the spots and AK. In addition, I am drinking 1 tablespoon with fruit juice 1x per day. I have been doing this for 22 days and I am amazed that the AK lesions have almost disappeared!! There is some pinkish color and still a little bit to continue to treat. The brown age spots have diminished in darkness and are not noticeable unless you look for them. Once again, I am still treating them and expect continued progress. The eczema has been more difficult but has shrunk by at least 50% and seems to be drying out and flaking off a little bit at a time. I did seem to develop another blister at one site, but I believe this was a underlying one that emerged with treatment. THIS STUFF WORKS!

I am NOT getting the weight loss and lower blood pressure, others are, but am amazed to have an apparent solution to my skin problems.

A Yea for ACV. I had two little sunspots appear on my hand. Applying apple cider vinegar (just the regular, cheap, filtered kind) on them just once, they fell off in a couple days!

I have been using apple cider vinegar on my face for a few years and I love what it does for my skin, but it is very strong. It is a mild chemical peel that removes dead cells, stimulates circulation, and corrects PH, but you don't want irritation! Saturate a cotton ball and pat the ACV all over your cleansed face, leave it on or rinse after a minute or 2 depending on your tolerance.

I am diabetic and was overweight, blochy red skin, sun spots on my face, neck, chest, arms and legs. I read Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) was good to drink and put on skin. I bought some and began drinking 1 tablespoon three times a day and put it full strength on my body in the shower after bathing when I still had some water on me. I rubbed it all over including my face, neck whole body, arms, legs and feet. After a month I began to notice the sun spots were getting lighter, my skin was getting a more youthful look (I am 55 years old) and I had more energy. When I went to get my A1C checked, it was 5.4! My blood pressure was 113/63! My doctor was estatic and so was I. My skin now is clear and bright. I have LOTS of energy. I'm not tired anymore. All the sun spots are just about gone. My dark elbows and ankles are now a normal color. I am so happy. I have been getting so many compliments on my "glowing" complexion. My facial capillaries have just about disappeared. ACV to me is a miracle in itself.

I have a very sensitive skin. I suffered from acne "infestation" in my teen-age years, and left some marks of tiny craters on my face. In short, my pores are visible to others at a few-feet distance.

I have read most of the articles posted here and other websites about brown spots / melasma / age spot. I have been suffering from this skin disorder due to over sun-exposure which happened more than 10 yrs ago. Like everyone else, I have tried a lot of treatments with the exception of laser cure because I can't afford it. I have NOT stopped looking for the best possible therapy that would help at least fade my blemishes which are very visible on cheeks. I am thankful for all the contributions made in this site, and I have tried few of them. I came across this website in May, and since then, became more EAGER to find possible ways, and cure for my brown spots. Knowing that you are not the only one suffering from this skin disorder somehow made me more hopeful than discourage. I've wanted to write and share something since May, but I waited until there was a visible sign of change on my face. This is the account of my 3 months self-therapy:

Every night (as always), I sleep with a clean face. Since May, I have tried using Organic ACV (with Mother) on my face as my toner. On the first month, I diluted ACV with water and apply the mixture on my face using cotton. During the 1st month, my skin peeled off. For few weeks, my facial skin was so tender because of ACV, that it became a mild sore. To my amazement, the portions of skin that were peeled off remained my true skin color without the brown spot after it got healed (from being tender). When my face got used to the ACV, I stopped diluting it. Every night, I still apply undiluted ACV on my face. My friends who didn't see me for at least 3 months noticed that the brown spots were lighter. I also tried making my own moisturizer using Organic at least 98% Organic Aloe Vera, Vit. E, and few drops of Organic Tea Tree Oil, and Lavander Oil. From time to time, I replace the oils with Jojoba. Orally, I am taking Glutatione which is according to my research is considered the best, and mother of all anti-oxidants. I eat as much as possible organic food, and drink ACV tonic regularly 3x a Day (I use the brand _____). If I could, I avoid eating pork, junk food, and too much processed food. I rather eat room temperature food than have it warmed in microwave.

I am also using Juice Beauty moisturizer with SPF 20 during day time. So far, this is one of the best products I have tried with more than 90% organic ingredients. Sometimes, labels say organic, but the percentage is another thing. (This also applies when I am looking for food label. So, be careful). I put on Bare Escentuals Mineral Foundation/Powder to matte my oily skin. Some researches mentioned that whatever we put or apply on our body, about 60% or more is absorbed by our skin - meaning that's what comes in our body.

For the last three months, my skin and health has improved a lot. I cannot ascribe the improvement to ONLY one thing. I guess it is a combination of all of the above. I am happier with what I see, and feel. I guess there is no short cut to everything good. We just have to be patient. Most of all, we have to have a positive and good mental attitude. The spiritual side of my life helps me a lot in achieving a positive and healthy attitude in life. Remember, what we see on the mirror is just skin deep. The true beauty lies inside us - our soul and spirit.
