I tried essential oils, more specifically, rosemary and coriander oils, for my blackheads and active acne, and a miracle happened with my face. Here is how I do it: at night I wash my face first if i have makeup on with my regular camphor based cleanser, then about an hour later i heat up a huge pot of water, and hold my face above the steam for about 10-15 minutes, i also cover my head with a big towel, so the heat does not escape. The steam helps open up the pores and let the toxins out. Then I take a shower and rinse my face off oil and toxins. After i get out i pat my face dry and apply coriander and rosemary oil mixed together. It's been a couple of weeks, and my face has cleared up so much, I am amazed. There are other things I do too, like drinking less caffeine and eating less sugar ,taking flax and omega 3,6,9 oils, also praying to God( I'm a christian), and my skin has been great. It doesn't get congested anymore, it's color is more healthy and even, I am absolutely amazed. I am 22, so I know acne at my age is an internal problem, so I recommend to anybody the essential oils(coriander and rosemary), but also checking your diet, some foods cause your skin to congest and breakout. Hope this helps)) I think I'll be using essential oils now,for me they've been more effective and a lot less expensive than facials and pretty much all brand name products i've tried in my life, and trust me i've wasted thousands of dollars on lotions, facials, cremes, etc. God bless you, and hope you find this comment helpful.

Blackstrap Molasses

Blackstrap molasses can also be applied directly to your skin. A friend told us to do a bsm facial 3x's a week esp. if you live in the city. It tightens the pore, draws out impurities, helps with lines, and leaves a beautiful glow, also left skin very soft. I did notice a difference when I skipped a couple of days. Leave on as long a possible...about an hour...

I thank the God of heaven and earth for all His remedies that He provides right in His nature...fruits, vegetables, herbs, grains, seeds, water, sunshine, exercise oxygen, rest, and of course trust in Him!

I've been taking blackstrap molasses for a week now and thank goodness I've been getting 3 bowel movements a day!! I have a hard time getting bowel movements partially cause of the foods that I eat but I am working on it. Also, my father has the same issues. Also, my face is glowing and I've gotten a couple of comments and how good my skin looks! I hope it doesn't stop working for me.

Oil Pulling

Oil Pulling and ACV tonic: I just wanted to say thanks so much for your website. I started oil pulling a month ago after much trepidation. I suffered from chronic insomnia and just feeling lethargic most of the time. I had initially started the apple cider vinegar and had started sleeping really well from the get go. I have always had sensitive and really weak teeth and about 3 months ago had had a root filling and crown on a tooth on my left side and was due to fix the opposite one on my right side, so you can imagine my surprise after a couple of weeks when I noticed that I was actually chewing food on my right side the whole time I was eating lunch! No tingling feeling and just an overall healthy feel in my mouth. Although I have had a good skin, I get compliments everyday about the glow my skin has. SO what can I say.....I don't think I will ever stop my regimen as the rewards are getting greater by the day. I have even ventured in including Apple cider in a mask mixture I make. Basically mix:

half of ripe avocado,
tablespoon of honey,
heaped tablespoon of oat bran
tablespoon of ACV

Mix well, and take a dollop of the mix, rub over face, neck (avoid sensitive eye area) for about 10 min. This leaves my skin feeling tingly fresh as well as so soft and moisturized. N.B While face is still damp apply moisturizer (coconut oil, or a mixture of coconut oil and aqueous cream). This is essential as it forms a barrier and helps trap the moisture in your skin. I believe you should see favourable results after a week. I use the mask only at night through and about twice a week. Enjoy! I put any leftover mask mixture in a tight container and place in fridge, but for no more that a couple of days. It usually keeps. Funny enough I also started oil pulling at night before going to bed, and then brushing. This morning I woke up as I had just brushed my teeth!

Flaxseed Oil

I started taking Flax Seed oil as an Omega 3 supplement. However, almost immediately I noticed that my skin became noticeably softer and more supple. I increased the dosage to 3x a day (my system had to get used to this, mind you, as it is a laxative) and I swear the wrinkles on my face are much less noticeable!

i read in a book that swedish woman use horseradish on their faces to cure brown spots. I tried it and i will have to say it really worked. Not only did it take away brown spots instantly but it made my face glow and took away my sleep crease .definately give this a try i haven't heard anyone talking about horseradish but it works. Just get the kind at your local store that is crushed and put it on in a circular motion, leave it on for a few minutes and rinse.

Oil Pulling

I started oil pulling with unrefined sesame oil 2 months ago, the inital results were great. My skin glowed exceptionally well. Then I read Ted's opinion on which oils work best, one of them being refined sunflower oil. I switched to sunflower oil and the results were unfavorable, my skin did not glow at all, as a matter of fact it looked quite dull. I stopped used sunflower oil and switched back to unrefined sesame oil. And my skin is glowing once more. I have been acne free since oil pulling and I've been sleeping soundingly too. I have recommended oil pulling to my sister who's had a loose tooth and the oil pulling has since reinforced her loose molar.

Oil Pulling

I've been oil pulling for six weeks now and although I can't say I lost any weight, I'm eating more fruits and vegetables because I can now chew better. Also, the lines that run from my nose to my mouth have also diminshed and my dark circles have reduced significantly. I use extra vergin olive oil. At first, my breath stank but I stuck with it and my breath is now fresh and my teeth are strong. My cracked heels are gone and my BP has also dropped and has remained steady. Only question? Can I do this during pregnancy????

Ozonated Olive Oil

I have become a huge fan of Ozonated Olive Oil. First off it's definitely the best all natural underarm deodorant I've ever used. Only have to use it every other day. It works for insect bites, speeds wound healing, burns, etc. But I've found it really helps reduce wrinkles if used consistently over a couple week period. I suppose the oxygen is being absorbed into the skin and rejuvenating the tissue. I'm going to keep experimenting with this and see how far I can turn back the clock. It's not even that expensive. I bought a 1 oz jar online for only $5.99 and it usually lasts our family of four about three months. Great stuff!

Vitamin E

Vitamin E oil has kept my face young. When I was about 12 my mom made me and my sister spread Vitamin E on our faces. We complained because it felt sticky and thick like honey, but she insisted that overnight our faces would absorb it and that we would thank her later when we were older. She also insisted that after a shower we rinse our faces and bodies with cold water. And to never let the shower water hit our faces but to splash rinse our faces with our hands and with cold water ALWAYS. Mother knows best. The next day our faces felt baby smooth. After that ever so often (about once or twice a month) I would open up Vitamin E capsules and spread the oil on my face before bed and sleep with it on my face overnight. People have always commented how clear and smooth my face is. I've had people also ask me what I use in my hair because it is ridiculously shiny (I think it's because of the cold water rinses) I'm also an avid red wine drinker (I have been since my early 20's). Ironically, recent studies have shown that a chemical called Resveratrol slows age related diseases. I am in my 40's and even though at the time I was 100lbs. overweight at a physical I had done, I was told that my blood pressure and cholesterol levels were superb. They also thought I was only 20 or 21 (and they only thought I was in my 20's because my vocabulary was what made me sound more mature/not to mention my youngest who was 8 at the time was with me otherwise they would've guessed my age even younger). Anytime people find out my age their jaws drop. When me and my husband go out I still get asked for my ID (even though I'm a couple of months older than my husband) My husband on the other hand is a beer drinker (not that I have anything against beer-I enjoy beer every once in a while, too) and a smoker and he's been mistaken for being in his 50's. He's also been offered the senior discount at places we've gone to eat. I'm convinced that a combination of both the Vitamin E and the coincidence that I happened to be a red wine drinker (Merlot) is what has kept my skin youthful. I've been doing the same for my daughter who has the loveliest face and people do the same all the time (ask what she uses on her face and hair to keep it so clear and smooth). I know that chances are we just have good genes (my mom and her sisters look very young, too) but then again my mom and her sisters have been doing the same thing for years, too; So, if you don't have a skin care regimen I highly recommend this one and pass it on.

Vitamin E

I want to thank Mimi from Corpus Christi, TX for her advice on using Vitamin E and cold water for beautiful skin. I have noticed a difference in my skin since using this remedy and I have only been doing it for about two weeks. I think my skin looks younger and my blemishes are down to almost nil. Putting the Vitamin E on is a bit of a pain, but I moisten my face with a little cold water and this seems to help. Please share any other remedies or beauty tips you might have Mimi! Thanks again.

Eliminate Chemicals

I just had lunch with my best friend who is 65, I am 48 and her skin looks younger than mine!! :( I asked her what her skin care regimen involved, and this is it. She doesn't wear any makeup what so ever, believe me she doesn't need to; she has great skin. She said she'd be embarrassed to tell most people this, but she only washes her face about every 3-4 days. And she does it in the shower. She uses a wash cloth and puts her face under real warm water and gently scrubs in upward motions a few minutes and that's it. No cleansers, no lotions, nothing. She said that the less you mess with your skin, the better it is. If you think about it, it's probably worse having the cosmetics on our skin 16 hours a day, than it is to go 3-4 days without washing a face with NO cosmetics, considering all the toxic stuff in cosmetics and cleansers that we use. When I think back to my younger days on the farm, I only washed my face a few times a week and had beautiful skin. It wasn't until I started wearing cosmetics and over washing it that I started having problems with it. Something to think about!!!

Exfoliants

Just a fun and amazing way to keep your hands and feet 'berry smooth': combine 4-5 softer strawberries with 1/2 teaspooon of salt, and 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Delicately mix the ingredients in a bowl, and then mush the strawberries in your hands or rub them thoroughly onto your feet. Simply rise off the excess mixture (without soap) when you are satisfied with your exfoliation.

2 Tbsp black strap molasses daily and up my intake of h2o to ten cups Gorgeous skin all over, no acne outburst before my period and did not have any PMS, the period showed up unannounced. I've only been using the molasses for 3 weeks. Thanks a lot. I found simplicity lasts longer.
