Hi, all. I am so bummed because I was LOVING taking melatonin; including the research about its healing the immune system. Unfortunately, as with other commenters, here, I began to suffer sleep apnea (which I never have had in the past): including gasping, waking up, and palpitations. I did not want to believe it was the melatonin -- so I kept taking it. Finally, I had to experiment with not taking the melatonin, and the sleep apnea resolved, itself. Melatonin and magnesium (both within the supplement) cause muscles to relax including the upper airway, and can cause apnea. I feel terrible because I was so gung-ho about the supplement (especially in relation to issues like Covid and potentially dementia) that I was recommending it to everyone. Now, I'm afraid they may suffer apnea with the supplement. Truly bummed about this because I was so in love with melatonin!!
