Eliminate Glycerin

My recommendation to re-grow enamel is to brush your teeth with a powder or natural dental fibers that do not contain any glycerine. In the past when I've been using glycerine toothpaste, particurly the natural brands that do not have fluoride, I have begun to notice some dark spots on my front teeth. From reading a blog on the subject, I suspect that glycerine coats the teeth and prevents them from remineralizing overnight. The dark spots - my guess - are places where the enamel is wearing away and/or stains are taking root.

Once I start using the dental fibers only for a few nights, my teeth go back to looking clean and white.

I have even had success by following up a foamy toothpaste brush with a second brush of only dental fibers.

I am curious to hear anyone else's experience on this.

Can you please describe what are "dental fibers" as opposed to tooth powder? also, what you mean by following up a "foamy toothpaste brush" with dental fibers -- are you referring to brushing first with a "natural" fluoride-free toothpaste containing glycerin, and then removing the residue (from glycerin?) with the "dental fibers?" Thank you. (I posted separately on 8/7/11 with concerns about my tooth enamel visibly eroding after switching to a natural toothpaste as well as trying some other remedies; not sure the cause of the sudden enamel erosion but I want to stop/repair it). Thanks so much.

Thank you Angela for that information on glycerine. I am now going to elimate that from my oral tinctures. Now that you have put that into my mind I am wondering if it is not exacerbating my tooth pain that I am currently experiencing. I have been using glycerine in my tinctures for several years and I like it but, if it is causing and or making worse my tooth pain I am not going to use it any more. Thank you.

Xylitol

Wouldn't the granuals be abrasive to your teeth?

Xylitol
Posted by Vandu (Silver Spring, Md) on 05/06/2011
★☆☆☆☆

I've been trying Dennis's suggestion of dry brushing with xylitol ( I got the brand NOW), and over the past two weeks, I feel there has been even more enamel loss. I dont know if it's because of the xylitol, or because of me grinding my teeth more. Ever since I started breastfeeding (now almost 7 weeks), my teeth seem to be losing enamel rapidly. during pregnancy my teeth and gums were great. and postpartum my gums are still strong and pink.. But I did find three receding gums and dentist says it's due to teeth clenching or grinding. I think he said the teeth grinding is also causing enamel loss. I'm not getting as much sleep and I find myself waking up with my jaws clenched. so I dont know if it's that I'm doing this more (due to stress), or if it was the xylitol, but my teeth have lost more enamal in just the past two weeks.

I'm going to stop the xylitol and go back to dry brushing with salt and a drop of neem oil. I dont know what else to do.

Ionic Toothbrush, Liquid Calcium

Very interesting info - are ionic toothbrushes available anywhere and is absorbable calcium the title from Holland & Barratts? I have developed generalised tooth sensitivity and am wondering if this is to do with thinning enamel. I am researching how your diet affects your teeth but more from an internal perspective than external (sugar/teeth cleaning etc). There seems to be some evidence that this can help. Many thanks for your advice

Where did you get the Borax? Is it the same as the laundry detergent? Thanks...

yes it is. not boraxo (as this is mixed with soap) laundry borax is pure sodium tetraborate or should be.

The box of Borax I have says on the back that it should not be taken internally and that if you get any in your mouth or eyes, you should call the doctor immediately.

Is borax safer to put in your mouth than the box says it is or do I have a bad brand? After reading your post on using borax with baking soda as a toothpaste, I went into my garage looking for some. But when my dad found out what I was going to use the borax for, he took it away from me and hid it elsewhere in the house.

So... does the borax you use have the same warning label or is there a food grade version out there? Thank you.

I use Borax USP Amazon the highest best grade. Baking soda USP best grade.Epsom salts USP. You want purity.

Herbs use organic if possible. Xylitol organic. USP for this product very expensive.

Did you by chance mean mean Boran that I can believe helping your teeth because Boran has been shown to help bone strength in studies with animals.

Hi, I would like to know if borax actually does something besides just making teeth feel clean. Does it make enamel stronger and/or whiter? Does it help to overgrow cavities? Doesn't it wear off enamel instead? What kind of chemical process happens with teeth when borax gets on them? And doesn't baking soda wear off enamel eventually?

I used a bit of Borax at the front door for ants, and it was completely burning my eyes at the other side of the house so much I had to vacuum it up at 3am. DO NOT USE BORAX in your mouth PLEASE!

Can your teeth grow back with this "black walnut" if you have crowns and no tooth?

Thanks in advance :)

Greetings Debbie, I stopped all flouride in late December. I totally agree with you. I started usng a certain tooth powder that the company name starts with uncle and they're out of Washington state. All natural with no baddy ingredients in there. I also ordered there tooth remineralization powder from another vender which was much cheaper than the manufacturer. I'll put sea salt on my list to try. thanks.

Still need to know if my toes are going to fall off, just kidding, from prolonged BWO use.

Hi Wongoblly, What quantity was in one bottle? I've finished just about 1/3 of 8oz bottle, but my small cavities still haven't started to shrink or teeth to shine. I swish my teeth with dropper full of Black Walnut tincture and small amount of water 2 sometimes 3 times a day for about a month now.

It would be interesting to know how long it took for others to overgrow cavities, so I wouldn't lose my hope.

I've also heard, that if oil is taken simultaneously with vegetables, then vitamins absorbes much better. Maybe I should try to take BW tincture with an oil?

I had read the posts about using black walnut tincture for helping to remineralize teeth. I was wondering if anyone knows if taking it in capsule form works as well, or if you get better results with the liquid? If the liquid is the better option...does anyone know if it can be bought in larger quantities? I have a rather large family and 4 oz. bottles is the largest I have seen it in...and I don't think that would last very long at all! Thanks!

Dear Mama to many,

Thank you so much for the info, and helpful advice. (I think that I will buy a "small" bottle for my son that is having the most problem, and have my others take the capsules or powder...and see if it seems to help.) My parents live nearby and they have several black walnut trees, so I am sure that I can make the tincture...but I don't know how. Is it possible for you to give me the "recipe?" Thank you so much! (Also do you think that it is safe to take the black walnut tincture while breastfeeding?)

Dear Mama to many,

Sorry it took me so long to respond...my computer was having trouble. Thank you so much for the "how to" in making the black walnut tincture! I'm looking forward to making it...but now for the waiting part! I know that it really won't be long before summer comes (and then goes again), but we had snow flurries in the air today, so that can make summer seem further away than what it actually is! I ordered some black walnut tincture to get started on my one son, and it should be in tomorrow. I'll post again with the results...I'm hopeful that it will work. Thanks again for the help!

Hi Om and Jake,

I have read about the benefits of urine pulling but am concerned about following it due to the fact that I have mercury fillings in my mouth. Have you any idea if its safe to do with fillings?

Thanks

Greenglow from Denver --- I e-mailed the webmaster of PARADIE NOW from where I have much inspiration and she checked into it, saying the amount excreted would be extremely minimal, to relax. I have mercury fillings but rather I act than sit back and see a drama unfold. Sofar all is well. Silver, celtic salt, DMSO, UT #1, all help to keep the mouth stable. Neem is also a good natural to include in the regimen. Will this help? Namaste, Om

WONGOBILY: My Nutrition Almanac lists black walnut as one of the natural remedies for parasites. We probably eat things throughout the day that will feed these critters so I don't think a daily dropper or two is going to make your toes fall off!! I've just started using the tincture because an x-ray revealed some decay on the tooth structure under a crown. I also had a root canal and have a gold post. To have a core build-up is more than I can afford and will have to put it on a charge so I hope taking this BW will heal. BTW I am over 60.

Does anyone know whether taking Black Walnut twice a day can affect bowels? It seems like the products of my elimination have changed since I have been taking it. In addition, I bent over today to pick up the vacuum and pulled something on my lower left side. I am in so much pain I can't bend over. Since the BW is supposed to harden tooth enamel, could it have also contributed to a bowel obstruction by binding with food? I tried to take it an hour from eating anything but I did forget a couple of times.

Dear MtM, Thank you for letting me know what the NP felt. I had seen another post, maybe it is in this thread, about using two droppers full twice a day to start. I don't know how many days I did that but I didn't have a good feeling about it so I cut back. The expense is also a factor. I think my metabolism is so slow I don't always feel the effects of things in a timely manner.

Thank you for all your information. I have been in the process of trying to be my own doctor for a couple of years. I had read about BW and parasites in my nutrition almanac. My problem is intussusception but it has gone on so long it may never heal properly.

I feel it's similar to someone losing a lot of weight and having excess skin. My colon/rectum and even small intestines have been "telescoped" so long I have a lot of excess bowel that fills up. The remedies below were helping so much until I started the BW.

I just finished posting to someone with a constipation problem. I have found help with the dry mustard, turmeric, ginger and ACV with the mother. NOW THIS!

Then I thought maybe I drank the BW too close to taking some turmeric. I really feel the combination of different foods and supplements have an effect, especially now that GMO's are in everything.

It's painful to sit here and type this so it has to be done piecemeal. My elimination has to be done piecemeal, also. I need to spend more time in the oval office.

Hi, I'm going to try the Black Walnut Fresh Green Hulls Tincture to remineralize and hopefully whiten my teeth. I tried it today, but didn't swish... only swallowed. I was too scared to swish with it because the tincture liquid is so dark- almost black! I was concerned it might stain my teeth and make them look even darker than they already do! Anyone tried this and found that it does or doesn't stain their teeth? And is it really necessary to swish it at all? Thanks

Hi Meeya...I used to use black walnut to make my teeth stronger but then I started hearing a lot of people saying that it can cause cancer. I was wondering if you or anyone on EC has heard this as well. I have stopped using it since. Just thought I should pass it on. Would love to hear your comments.

Hi Mama to Many and Kt, thanks for sharing with me. Thatâ€TMs exciting that enamel and cavities are filling in! Since you all didnâ€TMt notice any staining, I went ahead and did a 60 second swish this morning before swallowing. I plan on swishing once in the morning first thing, and then again later in the day between meals. Does anyone know if 2 dropperfuls of the tincture per day are enough, or do I need 4 dropperfuls total per day? Iâ€TMm 34 years old, 125 lbs, female (and breastfeeding a 15 month old).

Hi Lauren, I have not heard of BW causing cancer. Everything Iâ€TMve read about it says it is a strong fungicidal / anti-parasitic / anti-candida herb. My understanding is that BW is quite potent and medicinal and therefore shouldnâ€TMt be used long term, versus an herb that is considered nutritive (having a high nutrient content making it more like a food than a medicine) like stinging nettle, for example. I plan on only using the BW long enough to fill in some cavities and gain some more enamel. I think after 2-3 months I will stop taking it regardless.

I like Laurenâ€TMs idea of swishing with coconut oil and plan on doing that on a regular basis. Iâ€TMm also drinking a 3-5 cups per day of oatstraw and/ or nettle infusion, and taking fermented cod liver oil and high vitamin butter oil (about 1 tsp /day of each), in addition to eating a healthy, whole foods diet with plenty of vegetables, and avoiding all processed foods, GMOs, corn, soy, dairy, sugar, and gluten.

When I took two droppers full of black walnut twice a day for several days, my stool changed. Without going into detail, I'm full of adhesions due to multiple surgeries so elimination is not "normal" for me. Maybe it was too much for my system all at once or maybe I ate something that was not compatible with it. When I saw MtM's remark by a NP I could understand and reduced my consumption. Things seem to be back to what is normal for me.

I feel like this is a "DUH" moment for me. Right on the bottle of Black Walnut it clearly states "Caution: Not for long-term use of more than six weeks, followed by a two-week break." The suggested use is two to four times a day so that may make a difference. When I was becoming aware of the hidden sources of MSG I was advised to be careful of "extracts" or any other product that is a consequence of manufacture.

Dear Mama to Many--I just posted some paragraphs with questions about making the BW tincture myself and just lost it all.

I wondered if I cannot fill a gallon jar could I use a smaller one, making sure the walnuts were covered with vodka for six weeks? I also asked about the lid...plastic or metal?

I have to put them somewhere to dry because the squirrels are taking them. I forget what else I asked...I'm too tired to think now so I'll try again tomorrow.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Posted by M Bolton (Leeds, England) on 06/25/2008

Hi Sean. In reply to your query, I use Absorbable Calcium with Vitamin D from Holland & Barratt. Just split open a capsule and swirl the contents around the mouth. It is calcium carbonate. It has also been found that vitamin K2 helps calcium bind to bones. This might be a useful supplement to take internally but it is quite expensive. Also, a small ultra-sound device which fits in the mouth will apparently make it possible to completely re-grow teeth in the future. If you type in a search on the web for'regrow teeth with ultra-sound' you will find the relevant articles.
Hope this is of some help.
