We rescued a pit bull who was covered in mange. I took him to the vet for dips but they did not work so I tried Ted's Remedy. I mixed the solution as directed and applied weekly. What a difference! The mange is gone and he looks great! I highly recommend Ted's treatment over toxic vet remedy's, it works way better and costs a lot less. Thanks Ted and Earth Clinic!

I am at my wits end I have been trying this cure of borax and peroxide for about two weeks. My dog does not seem to be getting better. She is still red and hairless on 2 spots on her back and around her neck. I spray her almost everyday and it just doesn't seem to be working. What should I see after 2 weeks? Should she still be red on these spots? Her skin is very dark looking.

Hi Ted, Cherry, my 5year old labrador-daschund cross has been sufferring from itchiness, sores & vast hairloss ever since she was 1. Antibiotics, medicated washes gave only temporary relief. The worst part was that vets here could nt diagnose her problem! Can u believe that?! I was almost at my wits end. All traumatized 'cause I couldnt bear to see her suffer like this. It is not untill recently that I figured out through my own research that she was suffering from mange. I have finally begun with your treatment. I've done the first application. I plan to do it once a week. Just to not have her to undergo the torture of these chemicals everyday or do u suggest I do it everyday?? I'm applying a mixture of neem oil & vegetable oil on her skin at night time to moisturize her skin and facilitate hair growth. Let's see how this goes... I'm optimistic 'cause she seems to show improvement. She hasn't been scratching much.. Except for a few times. She's barking, comes out of her hide-out and waggs her tail occasionally. Thankyou Ted... You are a saviour. I have been yearing since years to see her get back to her normal self. I hope that happens soon.. With your treatment. Thankyou.. God Bless. Ramya

I wanted to try this cure. I spoke with my vet and they said that if the dog licked the dried residue when cleaning that borax can cause kidney failure. please be cautious. I lost one dog to kidney failure from jerky made in china and its a horrible death.

Hi ted few simple questions, you mentioned that one can use vinegar to replace hydrogen peroxide 1% with the Borax treatment for mite. Do I dilute it or use it as it is , and if so how much do I need. Is it as effective as h peroxide 1%. Ps would the h peroxide not slightly bleach the hair. Also can I may be use about 1/2 a cup of borax in the bath for the kids, may be with some lavender to ease possioble irittations , or would the borax be too harsh for their skin

We were infected few times over the years. The different treatment that worked from homeopathic (it was sulfur and cant spell the other one personium or somethinglike that), triphala , and permethirine , they would not work the second time round even at one point with a 3 year gap. this time we tried more permethitrine x 7 times , chinease tea and spregal spray and I became really ill after that treatment I did use that spray a few times on me

We also tried lot of other things like neem tea tree, salt, bleach( but only on me) , some indian oil , rosmary , mint, ext they only ease , however the lavender is great at stopping the itch.

alas this time round I have a severe allergic reaction to them, I have been suffering from urticaria and odiuma (swelling of eyes, mouth )ext great and taking lots of different anti histamin with marginal success , thats all my dermotolgest gives me. by the way has it effected anybody else like that.

ps sorry for the spelling

thank you

Hi, I found your website very imformative. I first want to thank you for maintaining the site and giving us all great advice and ability to forum.

I have a dog that is about a year old, large mixed breed, looks like a visla lab mix, reddish orange fur and very pink skin. He has mange all over his body from the feet to the belly and sides and legs and around the eyes and mouth. I am using Ted's Treatment Borax and Hydrogen Peroxide and water solution but am concerned with the mouth and the eye areas. My dog only has a couple very small areas where a scab or sore has developed, but the areas around the mouth and eyes seem more inflamed as well as around his genital area. Overall the dog just has hair density loss and some slightly proud red flesh around the genitals and the mouth and underarms. We have been doing the treatment for about 8-10 days. 2 on 1 off due to my work schedule away from home overnight. He seems to be itching less and responding well but we do not see major improvement as of yet.

My questions are is there an additional treatment I can do around the mouth, eyes and genitals where the flesh has less hair that might be more adhesive to the skin or do you think the borax mix will do the trick? Also I saw some posts on giving some borax in the water is this safe or possible as far as you know.

I appreciate any advice or direction you can give me. Mange is new to me and I know red dogs have a more sensitive skin and fur and the coat shows greater irritation. I just want to make sure I am on the right track as not to let it worsen.

Thank You, Richard

I have got to tell you.. My pup had a type of mange or redness for years and I tried a lot of things to cure it, plus his ears started leaking and smelling. I can't even tell you disturbed I was to go to the vet and have it not cured and be forced to go back ad pay again and it would not be cured. I used frontline, flea shampoo and on and still his coat and skin were scabbing and itchy. He is a golden retriever mx, like Duke on the baked beans ad only blonde.

I tried Ted's Remedy and I have to tell you.. The relief for my pup was immediate.. IMMEDIATE. He began playing again and looked at me like he was sooo grateful to not itch. I use it qute often now and it kills fleas as well and HIS FUR HAS GROWN BACK AND HIS PRETTY TAIL IS ALMOST FULL AGAIN... One month and a little more. I am very grateful. His ears are cleaning up too so the 'bug' or whatever it was must have been the problem there. He is like a puppy again and wants to play. Thank you... Thank you... from me and Duke....

A little background info - My boxer bitch is a rescue dog who came with little info beyond that she had come from a very good but divorcing home and no health or special care info beyond "she has a bath every saturday night".

I thought this just meant she had been a pampered pooch but as I believe bathing so often would strip her natural oils we didn't keep this up. Within months she was scratching, wriggling on her back, rubbing up against us and the furniture and took the best relief rubbing along some crappy woodchip paper we have in the hall!

I took to brushing her regularly, spraying her with various soothing oils, trying different foods etc. All of which seemed to ease what we thought was just an ongoing sensitive skin issue.

We've had humid weather which encouraged a nasty flea explosion and with having another boxer male and two cats you can imagine the sheer amount of flea treatments we've been through. My boxer male also had ear mites which were treated and cleared up without appearing to spread to the other animals but last week the bitch went downhill dramatically with hair falling out, hot spots and incessant itching and flaking skin.

I hit the internet and found this site. From all the info here - and the fact that none of the other animals are experiencing her particular problems - I've deduced that she definitely has a mite infestion of some kind if not demodectic mange.

Slathering her in mayonnaise resulted in tell-tale bumps and so I decided to try this cure. I got 200ml 6% Hydrogen Peroxide from the local pharmacy (99p) which I've reduced to a 1% solution - as per the pharmacist's instructions - by mixing 1 part peroxide to 3 parts distilled water. The distilled water I obtained from my condenser dryer (of all places) and 200ml of this solution added to 2 tablespoons of Borax - obtained on Ebay. Co.Uk (2kg for around £9 inc. postage) - gives me the right mix.

Mixing up 1 litre of the solutions therefore costs around £1.10 and - applied with a spray bottle to drench and spot treat my medium sized boxer - I reckon there is enough in that for 3 treatments.

I completely soaked her in the solution yesterday, she calmed down immediately and slept most of the day. The relief from the itching must have heavenly.

I've drenched her again today and intend to do this every day for a week then bathe her with Head & Shoulders dandruff shampoo and give a day off.

I've also taken photos to compare "before & after". As she's a brindle her coat makes getting a clear photo nigh on impossible but her belly - once covered with dark downy hair - is bald, sore, flaky and pink so will provide the best example.

I appreciate there are no guarantees but I'm encouraged by the testamonials here and curious to see how she goes. I will post back with an update next week.

Thank you to Ted for "The Cure" and to everyone who has posted with their personal experiences and examples of their own regimens. Your help in helping me to help my very much-loved dog is invaluable and very much appreciated.

Dear Ted, please accept my apologies for not being able to comprehend the exact formula/s. Could I ask that you would post them more plainer and no metric system involved. If you do not want to do this here, please email to me. I would be very thankful.

Secondly, is borax toxic to humans, such as your formulas here?

My little dog got demadex mange @ 6mos. I spent $126.00 @ Vet. The dip was so toxic, I looked it up, & antibiotics to boot. After 1st dip my pup felt so bad, just layed around. I new it was to toxic for her, she is very small, so I found Ted's Remedy with Hydro. Peroxide & Borax. SIMPLY AMAZING! Saw results after 1st treatement, treated every other day for 1 wk. Then it was gone. I still put it on her once aweek helps greatly for fleas. All her hair came back rt. away and is beautiful. I would have been dipping her with toxins from Vet until Nov. Thank You so much! I think every kennel. dog lover, etc should know about this!! I wish I would have before I went to Vet.

But it's getting worse. The spot is getting bigger. I started giving her vitamin c to build her immune, along with a change of dog food. Help! I want her to be healed. J

Ollie weighed 41 lbs when we found him - used a mixture of 2 c hydrogen peroxide, 4 c water, 2/3 c borax. After shampooing and rinsing, used the entire amount to rinse again, making sure to use get the underside of his body.

Did the treatment every 3 days for the first two weeks, then once a week.

I think I'm confused. I rescued puppy, bottle fed her. We est her about 4 months old and now above her eye is going bald.

I mixed borax, peroxide, and water to treat mange. But I think I mixed it wrong. Is it suppose to be paste, or feel like "salt water" when I pour and rub it on her? I mixed allot so I could make sure her whole body was covered. Am I doing something wrong

Greetings: (This message is URGENT) For Ted.

Ted, I have a serious crisis as I have 35 Doxie dogs over here. One of them has Scabies Mange (ultra critical) and some others also are beginning to experience the same sympthoms. I am an American, who is a retired viral researcher, worked with a Emeritus DVM in Salt Lake Utah, in 2007 and came up with a cure against Canine Distemper etc and so forth. The cure is official.

Anyway I got a problem and need to do dips on all these dogs. 1 cup of 1% of H2O and 2 cups of water, and 3 tablespoons of Borax is not going to do it. I need to submerge the most critical dog into a lot of this such as a tub with enough of your ingredients rising to at least the underbelly and to keep them there for minimum of 30 minutes and soaking this dog with the solution.

Also how long should this treatment persist. Days, weeks and how many times per week days etc.

I am not about to spend thousands of Baht for some VET as the majority of these VETS are clueless and brainless unless they are certified and bonifide Neurosurgeons. I have had the VET Boards tell me, and Dr. Sears that we are voodoo doctors yet they have seen with their own eyes the dogs are fully cured. Me and Dr. Sears and Dr. Mueller are the only people who have extensive experience against Distemper both body and CNS and at present time pushing to use this official cure regarding Multiple Sclerosis. Yes, same viral and vitro trademarks called Measles. Our cure wipes out this disease in 24 hours especially in the CNS and Brain with absolutely no side effects. We have a book out on this already.

Anyway

I need your help badly on my current problem. Need your script to cure these dogs of the darn Mite problems. Meaning a tub script!! What name brand here in Thailand goes for Borax??? Where to find it, maybe at a pharmacy???

Dog sizes - about 25 inches long, and stand on average 8 inches.

Will wait for your reply. Got a good feeling regarding the war against mighty mites.

Thanks, Daveyo

Dear Mandy, I'm sure by now you have found a successful treatment for your horse; but I thought I would write this... in case someone else should need a cure for mange on their horses.

I had two horses that were on open pasture that somehow caught mange. My mother had a friend who was a retired veterinarian; she asked him what we could do? He told us to get some Ivory Snow laundry detergent and put some in a bucket of warm water, make it nice and strong, and bathe the horses in it, do not rinse or dry it off. I had my doubts if this would work, because it seemed too simple; but I went ahead and gave it a try. I only did this once, as the horses were in open pasture and hard to catch. A couple of weeks later, I could not believe the mange was gone, and new hair was growing in.

Ok MY DOGS CONDITION HAD ME STRESSED OUT!!!!! Itch, chew, itch, scabs TERRIBLE odor, AND DANG NEAR CHEWED OFF HIS FEET!! His knuckles and pad on one foot was so bad he wouldnt let it touch the ground. So at first I thought this was all due to fleas. So for a couple of weeks his condition did not improve. Then I researched the "TERRIBLE SMELL" and thought it was a shin yeast infection. Nope. Condition worsened!!! Took to the VET and they (A-holes) gave him a steriod which puts mange into OVERDRIVE or it did in our case anyway. So I WAS AT MY END!!

So I decided to use the Borax treatment. Well in two day he was running on all four paws barking and playing and he is almost completly recovered!!! I was doing the treatment EVERY OTHER DAY due to the fact that I could no longer watch him suffer and it paid off one thousand percent!!! I called a pet radio station and talked to "warren" a national pet show to ask about this treatment. He would not answer. Liability I guess, he kept saying go to the Vet go to the Vet go to the Vet. I told him I did and they made it WORSE!!! He never did give me any feedback so thats why I'm Typing my story for the next stressed out folks! THIS HAS BEEN THE REAL DEAL!!! DO NOT DELAY OR WORRY ABOUT THE PEROXIDE!

I do have a question my dog is a Great Dane Shepard mix (3 years old he has had mange since he was a puppy from his mom) He sleeps on a couch are bed his bed and a futon it's not possible to wash all of these items ( he has non contagious red mange) is that absolutely nessesary in order to cure? Sounds alot like lice should it be treated as such? One more question the percent to amount ratio is slightly confusing can some one put the measurements in easy to read format like this much poroxide this much water and poor borax until its can no longer dissolve. Thank you for any help you provide. Hoping to cure my miserable friend!!!

OMG... I have to tell you.. I used Ted's remedy for mange on my adult golden retriever and once... ONCE only.... And let it dry naturally and he was like a puppy again. It was an unbelievable change.. I thought he was just happy to be outside but he was jumping up and catching toys again and playing tug o war with me.. And HE HAD NOT SCRATCHED except once quickly maybe from being outside.. Now that he is in, NOT ONCE... He has had this skin condition for years and years... I have tried Frontline and shampoos for hot spots and I finally admitted to myself that although he doesn't scratch 24-7, just 20-7 that it was probably a mange of some sort.. And I went looking for a remedy... His ears had gotten 'smelly' and poor puppy, would scratch and sometimes till he was raw and then it would seem to subside... I switched diets, fed him yougurt and thought he might be allergic to my cat or a bug... A vet had treated his ears wiht something that cleared it up.. for a week or so and then I had to go right back and spend MORE money to refill the prescription that never lasted the length of time it was supposed to and then they wanted ot do another examination to get the prescription refilled again. Sigh... I was relieved to see that one of the symptoms of mange is an ear condition and I am hoping hoping hoping that this will clear up with his skin... Even as I write this, he is near my feet and resting, no scratching. I will let you know... I want his pretty yellow fur to grow back in and his bushy tail to come back... He is like Bush's Baked Beans dog, only blonde...

I have a Keeshond that I am so embarrassed that I didn't see this was a problem until now. We have moved to apts that have a "doggie" area and I think that is where he has picked it up. He is mostly an inside dog. But I was already deciding I needed to do more about his diet, reading this has given me some new ideas about that. I just gave him frontline. I had just bathed him, not sure if it is mange or not. I know he needs the Frontline, but now that I have found this, would I need to wait the 30 days? Will this take away the effectiveness of the Frontline? I hate to wait very long as he is so miserable. I am trying to get him all turned around, I feel so bad for him.

I have seached several post trying to find a solution to my dog having these black fungus spots. I had a friend on facebook post and tell everyone that NEEM OIL (100% cold pressed) cures this and more. Check out neem oil and use this on your pets! It works... Is all natural and you can find it in any health food store. VERY IMPORTANT!!! Make sure you get 100% cold pressed not any that has been diluted with pesticides! I take a dropper full and mix in with shampoo, rinse. Then while my dog is still damp I take dropper full and with gloved hands rub into his coat all over. If it seems a little harsh you can mix with water and spray on and rub in. Use immediately becomes it isn't effective if it sits. No fleas!!! My dog has suffered for years from scratching constantly to the point he had open sores, bleeding and scabs all over. I have tried the 20 mule team borax to no avail. There is no need for all these harsh chemicals that will make your pet sick. I no longer buy flea collars or flea sprays or drops. These black fungus looking spots are drying up and he is one happy little dog! Please try this I bathe him with this once a week or so. Stay with it and you will be amazed!

One side note this stuff stinks! It smells like sulpher. But a small price to pay for our friends being healthy again. He has had no ill side effects from licking his coat after treatments. It says not to ingest but think it means large amounts full strength. It cures fungus, ringworms, mange, can be used on plants for pests. You can use it in your shampoo as well. It is also found in toothpastes. Do some research on it. You will be amazed!!!

I tried many foolish home remedies to try and stop the severe mange in my 10 month old female beagle. The vet kept telling us it was an allergy but finally after finding this website things began to improve. We used 500 ml of peroxide with 1 litre of water and 3 tablespoons of Borax bath every other day for 2 weeks until the symptoms apppeared a little better. Then we slowed to bathing her every 5 days to 6 days. We have also been giving a daily dose of Ivomec that I purchased at the Co-op in town. The recommended dosage that I was given is 1/10 cc of injectable ivomec per 10 pounds of body weight and this is given orally every day. I found drizzling it over some canned dog food of meat works well.

I am not a vet and I know that some breeds are effected by ivermectin so do your homework about your breed of dog, however this method has been working for us for the last 6 weeks. Almost all of my little girl's fur is back and she has regained her spark for life. Catch mange early and continue to treat even when the symptoms begin to clear. Mange can kill your pet if it is not treated. Thanks to this site for all its help!!

To enhance the exterior treatment of the Mange, strengthen the dogs immune system. The best way to do this is to take your dog off dry kibble and feed them strictly raw food diet for a few months. There are some very good suppliers who deliver the food frozen. You can make your own, but strictly follow a recipe designed by a vet, because the fat and vitamin balance is critical.

When I rescued my dog.... she got a raw food diet for 4 months and it converted a sad looking dog to a well muscled gleamingly healthy dog that looks much younger than she is.

Raw food is expensive, but vet bills more so.

Thank you for this remedy. I will try it as my pom has sores & I have cut all his fur off to treat better. Hydrocortizone cream seems to help him not itch but I need something I trust to be safe to rulle out and/or treat for mange. These sores are big. I nned to treat the cause. Our lake at our apartments in the city is infested with fleas from a "dog friendly apartment complex". It could be infested with mange as all the dogs walk the same path around the lake & there are unhealthy outdoor cats that seem ferrel. You would think "dog friendly" would mean people treat thier dog's bug problems quickly as they hurt the dogs. I posted that Borax is in the laundry detergent isle so people can find it. :(

l have found two ways to treat your yard for mites, since treating the animals and surrounding areas is vital. One is to spread "tobacco dust" around the whole yard. It can be bought by the garbage bag for about $20. It took 2 bags to treat my 3/4 of an acre. This can only be purchased at select feed stores, you must call around.

The second way is to introduce a voracious mite-eating beneficial insect bought at organic pest control websites. It is called a green lacewing. It is suggested to buy the eggs, and also a food for them once they become adults to keep them in your yard. The eggs hatch into mite-eating larvae for 2-3 weeks before they mature. The adults eat honey, and nectar on flowers, so keeping food out for the adults keeps them reproducing in your yard. It's not very expensive to let nature do the hard work.

Ted's peroxide/borax treatment worked on our Shepard mix puppy! I used the mix the first day, used vegetable oil the next day (applied with cotton ball to extremely bare, blackish, sore spots, day three rest. I used Ted's recipe day four and the bare, blackish, sore spots are gone! I am shocked but oh so happy we didn't spend hundreds at the vet. I was very skeptical at first but I know it works! Thanks Ted and all who posted that convinced me to at least try.

If you go to page 7 under this topic you'll see my before and after pictures of Ruff. It's been a while back but I believe I had to submit them to the owner or cantacted her first and got permission. As you can see it really helped him. The sad thing is he came back from the vets with this. I just took my mini border collie two weeks ago and he's never had one flea or chewed himself. He now has both. I so wish I'd never taken him for his shots and allowed them to put chemicals inside his little body. Rabie shots are all that's required and all he'll ever get again. That's why I'm here looking for a remedy for this. I feel so sorry for him. Good luck with your dog.

I agree with Jennifer from Denville, New Jersey (she posted on 12/12/2011). I have a 15 month old pug that began battling demodectic mange when she was 4 months old. It began on her face, as almost all demodectic mange does because their face connects to their mom to feed after they're born. Demodectic mange is passed on by the mother to her puppies. All dogs have these mites on their bodies. A healthy, strong immune system keeps these mites under control. It's when the dog's immune system is weak that the outbreak occurs. You'll mostly see demodectic mange on puppies and old dogs, since puppies are just starting to build up their immune systems, and old dogs are becoming weaker due to a long life of eating processed kibble and cooked canned dog food with all the added preservatives and chemicals.

Focusing on improving the dog's health so that their immune system can control the mites is, in my opinion, the best route to take rather than putting toxic chemicals onto their skin and making their already weak immune system even weaker. You can help improve their immune system by changing their diet to a raw diet. This is the diet they were naturally designed to eat in the wild. Every species on this planet is designed to eat a specific diet. Man's best friend is dying from some of the same diseases humans get now-a-days because they are eating the same processed toxic type of food. Stop eating processed food for a week and eat fresh fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds and you will see how your health will improve. Keep doing it a while longer and a lot of your illnesses will dissappear. Being sick is an allergic reaction to toxins in our bodies. Simply change your diet and you can get rid of disease. Such a simple solution and yet people won't believe it. Some people put their faith in pharmaceudical drugs and toxic skin applications that only cause future side affects and often worsen the situation. Ever heard of a diabetic that was cured from taking medication all their lives? I've only known ones that have gotten worse.

Go back to what nature intended for us to eat. Unprocess, uncooked, unmodified food. Change your dog's diet to a raw diet and then just be patient while their bodies begin to detox all the so-called food and toxic medication they have been on. After they detox, their immune system will begin to strenghthen and sooner or later the demodectic mange will be under control by the miracle work of a strong immune system. It could take months and even up to a year or so, so be patient. In the mean-time, keep your dog happy, as stress is known to be a contributor to mite outbreaks. Let your dog get some sun everyday and avoid processed treats, yeast, grains, fruits and toxic dips/medication.

I have a 5 & 1/2 month old lab/great dane mix. I got her when she was about 12 weeks old, she was very undernourished at that time. About a month ago I noticed she had a few pimple like sores on the back of her legs (no fleas). These pimples started to spread quite rapidly. The vet gave her antibiotics thinking it was 'pustules' that, I was told, puppies sometimes get. I also changed her food to a natural food, no corn or other stuff she might be allergic to. 2 weeks later & the pimples/sores are all over her body now & very, very itchy & some hair loss & thinning hair all over her body.

I ran across this web site last night while searching for a home remedy for mange. I got to thinking it could quite possibly be mange after doing some research on- line & the fact that her immune system might not be what it should be due to her malnutrition early in life(shes a good weight now). I read many posts on different sites of how people have spent hundreds of dollars at their vet & their dogs were no better off.

After reading all the positive feedback from people using Ted's remedy I decicded that this just might do the trick so first thing this morning I ran out to get the ingredients, bathed my dog as it said & poured the 'borax solution' all over her body, massaging it to the skin. I also put some in a small spray bottle to get areas I might have missed. Than I went around & disinfected all areas that she has access to & her crate & blanket. Collar & harness too got a soaking in the solution & hung out to dry. I'm not going to say that its working already but she is (as I type this)sleeping peacefully in the chair. I'll know for sure tonite for thats a high itching time! I also gave her a fish oil capsule & plan to give her one a day. If this works it will be a miracle for me & I'll be sure & keep the ingredients on hand in case we need it in the future. I will post again & let everyone know how its going.

Did your dog ever get better? I have a 1 and 4 monts german sheperd mix and he has had demodex mange since he was about 5 months. I have tried several treatments from vet dips, to ivermectin and he gets it back. When I use Teds remedy it seems like the sores get worse, with puss and everything. Could he be having a reaction against the remedy?

My 5 month old female boston terrier has mange with a secondary skin infection. She has these pimple like bumps all over he body and face. When she scratches they burst and pus and blood comes out. Can I still use this solution on her? or should I get the infection under control and then go through with the solution? She has already had a series of ivermectin shots with no success. Now I am looking at an additional 700 dollar vet bill if I want to go through with the vets recomendation of more meds and intibiotic. PLEASE HELP!!

Hey Ted, Thanks for the borax treatment. My dog had severe mange and got him every possible treatment. doctors told that the infection was coz of food allergy. Doctors also told us that he will not survive if the infection continues for long because of less resistency.

I have seen this treatment and applied the borax solution every alternate day and was amazed with the results. Now he is a healthy dog without any mange... and recently taken him to the doctor for his vaccination (anti-rabis) was shocked looking at him with his healthy and shiny hair.

Wud seriously recommend this treatment to every dog, cat with mange. Thank you ted!

How often do you give the dog a bath in the borax/peroxide solution?

I have read a few of the posts, and feel that many of the problems could be cured by using Diatomaceous Earth.

I found this site today while looking into solutions for myself and others, but find that it works for our pets too. Even kills bugs of all sorts... Will be getting a large bag. The S/H is more than the product cost.

@Jen from Phoenix. Could you possibly send me some pics of your dog's Mange? We have a blue pitbull that started with a spot on her head that seems to itch & cause her pain. Over a few weeks a spot the size of a dime showed up on both her front & back leg. After taking her to the vet today I feel like we got no where. She did a skin scraping but saw nothing. She recommend using a neosporin/benadryl mixture & said it's probably allergies but could be mange. I'm just very worried about her & want to be sure we are getting her the best treatment we can. Thanks so much! My email address is sammibyrne [at}yahoo (dot) com.

I have a pit bull mix with extreme anxiety which causes her immune system to be compromised. Lately she has been suffering with mange/mites. The vet mess weren't helping so I went searching for something else. I found Ted's remedy and although the directions for mixing were a bit confusing, I figured it out. I am amazed at the quick results. I wish I could post our before and after pictures just 4days after the first dip! The mixture I used was 2 cups 3% hydrogen peroxide, 4cups hot water and as much Borax as would dissolve in the water/peroxide mixture. Once it began settling on the bottom, I stopped adding the Borax. I used a hair color bottled to soak the worst areas and then just poured the rest over her. I'm so thankful I found this post. She hasn't had any side affects and the hot spots are gone, the skin is pink rather beet red, and hair is growing back. Thank you so much!

I gave my 5 month old male chihuahua which only weighed 1lb this after frustrating visits with out vets and costing us lots of money. I have used this 2x in 2 weeks, . What a difference. I used veg oil for his skin because it gets real dry and it doesn't harm him. I also added an extra 1/2 cup of water to the mixture since he is so small. It does work great. Bam Bam's mom.

Ted, What would be the recipe using DMSO? I have Borax, H202, ACV, and some DMSO. Would using the DMSO be the most effective choice?
