I am not sure if i read this cure from this site or not but if i did i want to thank whoever it was that posted castor oil as a substance to shrink tumors in dogs. it really really worked! my vet told me that the lump on my dog's paw was a non-cancerous tumor and that it should be removed because there is not enough skin on the paw to stretch for the growth of the tumor. i decided to see if there was any way i could shrink it before i decided to put him under for surgery. and so i tried the castor oil twice a day for three days and and the tumor is gone, with the exception of just a little left over skin that stretched from the growth of the tumor, its completely gone!!!! i spent $2.59 on castor oil instead of $200 for surgery. plus i saved my 10 year old boxer from having to go under for surgery.

I absolutely agree that castor oil is great for Beautiful skin... I started using castor oil on my face every night after bath 1 week ago and today only 7 days later my face somehow looks at least 5 years younger and flawless and more toned... I am thankful for Earth Clinic or I never would have tried castor oil on my face.... From Hazelnut

Well I must say I was a bit hesitant to try castor oil on the eyelids, but to my surprise it worked! I've used sleeping pills for years, now I'm cutting back on all the chemicals in my body and I never felt better. Thank you EC for all this great info.

A couple of drops of Castor Oil (cold pressed only) put into the eyes right before you go to sleep will also get rid of cataracts.

I had hated castor oil for many years because growing up in South America it was a quarterly cleansing ritual by my mother and many others. This website has helped me to see castor oil in a new way. I have been applying it occasionally to my face at night. Every time I do so, I absolutely love the way I look in the morning. My skin looks toned and fresh. Yesterday I attended a function and saw a woman whom I had not seen for about two years. She kept saying "you have to tell me what you are doing, you look ten years younger. I have also been doing facial exercises. She asked her daughter for my number because she said she is determined to find out what I had done to my face. Many people were in the room and she was quite vocal so I just replied that I had been taking care of myself. I will tell her privately. I think the castor oil definitely helped my skin plus the facial exercises helped tone the muscles under the skin. I used to hate the mirror, now I glance at it ever so often. Thanks for the castor oil tip.

Swollen Lymph Nodes

I am so grateful for this site! Last night I woke with a swollen lymph the size of a tennis ball and was terrified. I'm 24 and have never had something like this happen before. But, did a google search and found your site and Castor Oil recommendation. It REALLY works! I placed castor oil on the area and placed a flannel rag over it and a heat pad. This morning my lymph was still slightly swollen, but after a bath of epson salts, baking soda, and apple cider vinegar as well as eating miso soup (a very alkalizing food) I feel 100% better. I had been sick with a cold for about two weeks and these remedies seemed to cure that as well. I think it is also important to note that these remedies work really well when you have a frame of mind that supports curing yourself, by re-focusing on the things that give you joy and the things that you love, can only help you be more grateful and less focused on the thoughts that created this illness to begin with. Thank you so much!

I've had very sore knees due to being overweight. For the last few days I could barely walk or put weight on my left knee... About a month ago, I bought some Castor Oil and and was using it for my face (wrinkles etc) and I must say, it's just fantastic... Last night I could barely sleep due to the knee pain so I tried the Castor Oil on my knee.. I massaged it in for around 5 minutes and went to bed... This morning, I woke up almost totally pain free.. Apart from a slight pulling sensation at the back of my knee, the severe pain I was suffering with for days, has gone... I'm not only gobsmacked but still gingerly walking around as if it's going to erupt at any minute.... I can't thank this site enough and the information it offers... It has been a God send.... I am going to use the oil on other parts of my body as well whenever I feel tension or pain... I'm still shocked as I write this.. Thank you to everyone who asks great questions and others who give such informative answers, especially Ted... God Bless you.. Karen

I've been reading comments about a lot of sick pets here. I stopped feeding my dogs commercial dog food. Well, both of them were my son's dogs until he gave them to me. I make all of their meals now. They eat everything that we eat (no junk food). Their bodies have redistributed their weight; muscle and fat redistribution. One that I wax allergic to no longer has that burning odor to her body. The 8 yr old shepherd looks like she's lost several years, and her mental health is better. The other shepherd is still very young so it's hard to make comparisons. She is happier, though.

I'll bet my dogs live a long time, and die from natural causes. That's how my Chow Chow went. She had not one physical ailment, not even weakened eyesight, when she got old and died.

I know the topic is castor oil. I just think that some of these ailments are caused by commercial dog food.

Castile soap is an awesome face and body wash! Among other uses for it! It acts as a natural degreaser, without drying out, then I put castor oil as a bedtime moisterizer while my face is still moist with water for easy application. Yes I do have a fresher look in the morning and also have noticed the little fine lines that started appearing by my eyes have disappeared! I feel so wrong if I miss a day without my castor oil. you'll learn to love its thick viscosity.

I suppose it is the dog food producers who are saying the healthiest diet for dogs is dog food, when so many find that making your own dog food gives such good results.

I grew up with a dachshund. She lived to be almost 17 years old and rarely needed a vet. The older she got, the less dog food she ate. My mom gave her our table scraps. When our dog was quite old I remember my mom scrambling eggs for the dog's breakfast every day. Our dog hated dog food. (Who could blame her?)

My grandparents lived on a farm. There was a very nice German Shepherd dog that belonged to a neighbor officially, but my grandparents fed him their home grown table scraps for many years as he was always hanging around their house. That dog probably never saw a vet but got oodles of exercise by all appearance was very healthy for many years. (And such a sweet dog.)

Dogs back then (70's) also had much fewer vaccines, which may have given them a health advantage as well.

So, I do agree that dogs do well and better on diets other than dog food!

If you're older - and, possibly, more likely female than male - you may experience difficulty "holding your water". I know it was getting harder and harder for ME but, then I started rebounding and it was easier - to HOLD it - BUT - and this is a HUGE but! I suspect it's not a matter of not being able to HOLD it.

For the past few days, I've been rubbing castor oil on my belly. I haven't done a castor oil PACK, just rubbing it on my belly. About twice a day for the past few days and something interesting has happened that has made me rethink the whole "hard to hold it" thing.

I don't think it's hard to hold. I think what's happening is something like a sudden flooding of the bladder. Why? Because, sure, I can still hold it BUT, TODAY, there's no sudden URGENCY.

Initially, I thought it was something else - as in, I didn't realize it was just a normal signal to go pee as it's been so long but, that's what it is. A NORMAL sensation of having to pee. No urgency which I suspect means no sudden flood of fluid dropped on the bladder.

I have no idea what is being "fixed" or perhaps the urgency will return, I don't know, but I don't think that's going to happen. I haven't seen any references to this with castor oil. Nor, in fact, ANY remedy so - give it a try!

Be advised that castor oil will clean you out and CAN clean you out even just by rubbing it on the belly so, either only use a little or do it on a day you don't have to leave the house until you're flushed out. It's not as bad as the result of having to choke down a big ol' "grandma made me do it" spoon full of castor oil, orally - and if you're like me and always experimenting with cleanses and what not it probably won't happen - but there are plenty of herx stories about the "clearing out" of the bowels and other housekeeping effects.

Dry Eyes, Floaters

I began applying [castor oil] to my eyes nightly, beginning Mar. 2, 2012 for the purpose of providing dry-relief to my eyes, which began to feel dry for the past few months.. Not only has the dryness disappeared, but I just noticed [a few days ago] that my 'floaters' have diminsished.... I normally had 3-5 floaters but now I only have 1-2 and their density has gone from a grayish speck to a transparency... There is no other reason for this to occur... I'm not recommending that this is going to be successful for anyone else, but I'll keep putting CO in my eyes at bedtime.....

I used to use proactive years ago and I didn't like how it seemed to bleach all my pillow cases. If it was doing that to my pillows, what was it doing to my skin? I now have a very simple skin regimine: I cleanse my face at night with grapefruit seed extract (I wet my fingers a little, put 4-5 drops of GSE on my fingers, rub it on my face and rinse. I started doing that because I was diagnosed with perioral dermatitis and GSE not only took care of that, it's taken care of my acne problem as well. )

After cleansing, I use my homemade lotion of aloe vera gel, vegetable glycerin, shea butter and lavender oil.

Before going to bed, I apply castor oil around my eyes and on my forehead. When I wake in the morning, my skin is glowing. I don't even usually wash my face in the morning (though I used to be adamant about it) because I don't feel like I need to; it feels very clean when I wake up. I do get the occasional zit here and there but it is nothing like it used to be. Hope that helps!

Near Miracle Cure: I tore my right rotator cuff a few years ago, and the surgeon recommended three surgeries for the damage, and told me I would be lucky to have 20% mobility of my shoulder (range of motion), and that I'd never be able to use it for any strenuous activity. A second opinion was needed in my mind, and a coworker recommended Deb, a massage therapist that specialized in sports injury who was helping her with her Fibro-mialgia. I decided to give Deb a chance, and she talked to me while working on my shoulder with some almond massage oil, and in 15 minutes she asked me to stand up and show her my range of motion. Amazingly, I was able to hold my arm all the way vertical, albiet with much pain, which meant that I really did have 180 degrees of mobility, though it would not be permanent without some maintenance and healing. She told me at that point that if I wanted to heal the shoulder, come see her once a week for two months, and rub a table spoon of castor oil on my shoulder morning and night with heat whenever possible, and to do the 'wax on / wax off' exercise against a door each day.

4 months later, I started lifting weights again with my shoulder, and it's as if it was never damaged now. The castor oil got rid of the inflammation, the massage kept the muscles and tendons in the right places, and the exercises brought blood and healing to the joint. I have to say, the castor oil was the hero here, as Deb said it would not have been possible otherwise. The body's self healing was able to take place (the true miracle) thanks to the lack of inflammation!

Since that time, I've used Castor Oil to heal back injuries, nasty scrapes (my 240 lbs supported by my shin as it raked across a 2x4 board in the attic!), inflammed eyes, skin softening, hemorrhoids!, and much more, and in all the times I've used it in a heat pack, the results are dramatic and instant, as in next-day you can't tell you were injured! For doubters, just try it, you will no longer doubt it.

Calcified Bursa

I had a calcified bursa on my right shoulder that had become so painful that, after six months of physical therapy, it was no better and I was scheduled for cortisone shots. I did not want them because of the immuno-suppressant tendency of cortisone. One night I had the impression to try a castor oil pack on it, just out of the blue. So I did. I wrapped my shoulder and underarm (after washing it) and left the pack on all night. In the morning the problem was 95% better. I did it four more nights and have not had the problem since. About five years now.

I was reared from childhood, being given a tablespoon Castor Oil montly for cleaning out the colon, and also removing or killing parasites. The Castor bean has drawing properties, and does work well for drawing purposes. It has been used for so many remedies for many years, and yes, can be used as a purgative. But it also draws out impurities from the cellular tissue. I have also used it to purge of gall stones from Gall bladder. I simply mixed it with grapfruit juice, in order to get it down.
