No caffeine. Barley, rye, dandelion and chicory. Mixes instantly, hot or cold, tastes good and you can drop in some tincture, easy peasy. Doesn't even need sweetening, though you could honey it up into a nice iced sweet tea and get some of those honey enzymes if you wanted.
Very interesting...what I got is called "Dandy Blend" - recommended by a bud but I'm sure there are others - and it's actually cheaper than coffee. Very interesting, indeed.
This experience plays right into my idea that "addiction" isn't what we think it is. Like dogs that eat anything they can get at and beg at the table but don't do those things when you switch them to a raw meat diet. As if the body is looking for things or substitutes for things it's not getting elsewhere. And when we put psychological crap on that, we don't bother to look for the actual cause of such cravings.
This "dandy" stuff tastes good but I don't crave it which suggests the body is getting something it needs and can actually use as it was intended to be used. Perhaps something for which caffeine was a poor substitute?
Also not smoking as much but is that for the same reason or just because I so enjoyed kicking back with a cuppa joe and a cigarette and without the cuppa joe, no cigarette necessary? Can't be sure...
Herbalism is where I started my exploration of natural medicine so, once I took natural medicine to its inevitable conclusion - as in all you need is your own urine - it stands to reason that I would go back to herbalism just due to the intuitive nature of it and the deterioration and corruption of the food supply creating so many "new" issues. Still, I only have myself to experiment on and herbalism has come so far when it comes to applying old remedies to more "modern", toxic issues. Very different than the ancient texts and Kloss material I was studying way-back-when. Particularly with open access to Dr. Christopher's later work and experiences.
Sooo - a brand new ride of exploration!
