A common spice with a sweet but spicy flavor, ginger root is often used in cooking. However, its common purposes extend to the world of medicine as well. Considered a calming spice, ginger root tonic is used to treat a variety of conditions ranging from gastrointestinal distress to arthritis.

It is best taken first thing in the morning before a meal but can also be consumed in the afternoon if need be.
- 1 cup fresh grated ginger root
- 3 quarts purified water
- 2 Lemons, juiced
- 1 Teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon of Himalayan or Celtic Salt
- Honey or stevia for sweetness (optional)
- Rinse the ginger root and use a grater or food processor to mince it.
- Add grated ginger to 3 quarts purified water.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer the ginger for 2 hours. (Keep an eye out so it doesn’t boil down too fast).
- Allow to cool.
- Add the lemon juice, cayenne and Himalayan or Celtic salt. Strain concentrate and keep refrigerated.
Add 1/2 cup of ginger concentrate to 1 cup of warm water. Stir well.
Drink first thing in the morning. Make sure to drink at least one 8 ounce cup of room temperature filtered water within an hour of drinking the tea. Follow with another 8 ounce glass of water an hour later. This will assist the body with detoxing and cleansing.
