Pineapples/ Bromelain. Bromelain, found in pineapples, is a very handy proteolytic enzyme used, often with papian another proteolytic enzyme which is derived from papayas, to break down the products of degradation of cancer so that they can be removed safely from the body.

However, conventionally pineapples are a crop that may stay in the ground for a number of years, and therefore extremely potent and long-lasting herbicides are often used when growing them.

It would be wise to source pineapples that are guaranteed to be free of toxic ag chemicals.
