[YEA]  12/06/2006: Riley from Killen, AL writes: "Just stumbled on your site tonight. So encouraged to see a site that is offering possible answers from others without hawking a product or book! Thank you! Tried Protonix, antacids, etc., wound up in ER last week w/serious pain, vomiting for days (w/no food being taken in out of fear), BP elevated, feared heart attack if pain persisted (lump in throat, intense burning in upper gut, "sinus or ear infection and drainage" feeling, rt. side of neck, throat sore...) Am trying the above and will report the results. Easy to do since I already love kosher pickles and juice and willing to do the AVC. Encouraged for first time in months...thanks again...Riley"

[YEA]  08/26/2006: Leslie from Seattle, WA writes: "In desperation I came looking at this site, like so many of us. I've not had any digestive problems ever.. and then suddenly this horrible reflux pain that lasted for hours and exhausted me at night. I was afraid to eat. I was afraid to not eat. I had a particularly bad night and then went to the doc and am on omeprazol right now. I've still had symptoms on this medication, which was very discouraging and scary. I tried the acv and it did not work..it made my stomach burn terribly. After alot of burning that wouldn't go away I went to the doc..again..and I am being treated for an ulcer. The burning has stopped, however last night out of the blue I began to have reflux pain again. I tried baking soda and water..which has helped before..and does seem to help the ulcer burn. Last night it seemed to work initially and I fell back to sleep, only to be awoken again from the reflux. I then drank some pickle juice and ate a pickle and the pain was instantly gone. It's tricky trying to balance what will work for the reflux and not aggravate the ulcer, but I just cannot tell you how relieved I am that the pickle juice worked. I know I have very little acid in my stomach right now because of the omeprazol. So, after the antibiotic treatment I plan on weaning myself of the meds slowly and doing the pickle thing. I'm not sure if I should take it with my evening meal or just treat the symptoms of reflux when they happen. I'll just have to try things out. So..give it a try. Keep trying things until you find something that will work. It's scary and exhausting and I felt discouraged from hearing stories of things that never worked for people. But today I feel much more positive. I just have to take this one day at a time. Thank you for the site and the ideas."

[YEA]  08/19/2006: Heather from Taylor, MI writes: "I want to endorse the pickle juice remedy. I thought drinking pickle juice would be intolerable, but to my surprise it wasn't too bad. Unfortunately, in 2 weeks I am getting scoped for stomach problems. I will use this natural remedy (before bed) to prevent the awful discomfort of acid reflux. I'm writing this comment at 3:25 a.m. after suffering from the pain for an hour:( "

[YEA]  08/10/2006: Karen from London, UK writes: "I cannot believe it! I actually love pickles and have always had a penchant for the juice... much to my husband's disgust, I used to swig juice from the jar! I have suffered from Reflux for 3 years and the last year has been hell. I no longer get heartburn as I have damaged all the nerve endings in my esophagus, so only feel the acid when it's burning the back of my throat. I have been on PPI's for the last 8 months and have been referred to the surgeon for fundiplocation surgery. However, lately the PPIs have stopped working. I wake every morning with burning acid in the throat and sore tongue. Today I had enough and decided to search the internet for any natural advice/cures and found this site. I don't know if we can get Apple Cider Vinegar in the UK (I have never heard of it) but I did have a jar of dill pickles (or gherkins as we call them) in the fridge so thought I would give it a go... nothing to lose! I have avoided all pickles (because of the acid content!) since the reflux started so was very skeptical. I opened the jar and took a deep swig and ate one of the pickles for luck. After a couple of minutes of what felt like an acid war at the top of my throat which made me think "I shouldn't have tried this!".. I felt almost instantly better. The burning sensation in my throat was much relieved! I'm not brave enough yet to come off my PPI's.. but rather than double dosing (as I have been advised) I will stick to Pickle Juice when the PPIs fail... and I'm certainly going to reconsider the surgery now until I look further into the natural options listed on this website. THANK YOU!!"

[YEA]  05/08/2006: Brad from Madison, WI writes: "My acid reflux had become so bad that my doctor and i thought that i would need to scoped. Then a coworker told me about apple cider vinegar/dill pickles. I doubted that anything so simple would help me since all the other medications i tried did very little. The apple cider vinegar/dill pickles did an unbelievable job at relieving my symptoms. I no longer take any of the prescription medication and need only the a.c.v. Thanks so much for the great advice."

[YEA]  04/27/2006: Mollie from Jackson, MI writes: "About 1 week ago I woke up in the middle of the night with pain from acid reflux, I had to do some research to figure out what it was since I had never experienced this before. I tried Pepto Bismol, Rolaids & Zantac, nothing worked. I couldn't sleep, had difficulty breathing and could barely eat. I made a doctor appointment but couldn't get in until next week. In my desperation I started looking online for natural remedies and found this site. I actually had tried apple cider vinegar/honey/water earlier this week but I couldn't get it to go down, my gag reflex was stronger than my will, but when I read that pickles could work I was thrilled since I love pickles. I started my pickle/juice regimen yesterday afternoon after a full day of pain from acid reflux and it was almost immediate relief. I realize that this flare up of symptoms is probably due to Ibuprofen overuse. Thank you for your informative site."

[YEA]  04/12/2006: Stacy from Royal Oak, IL writes: "Unbelievable!! I am 2 days away from an endoscopy which is the first step in surgical correction for GERD. I have suffered from GERD for over 12 years and in preparation for my next pregnancy, have decided to have the issue corrected. Mine became so bad after my first pregnancy that for the last 5 years, I have been taking double dose OTC Prilosec with only partial relief. To prepare for the procedure, I have to be off of Prilosec for 5 days prior and 2 days post. This scared the tar out of me since I am usually in burning pain if I am even 2 hours late with my pills. I am now 3 days off of the pills and have been, so far successfully, fighting the urge to call and cancel the whole thing just so I can get back on some Prilosec ASAP. With my doctors ok, I have been taking above the max dose of Tums but when I hit about 30 for today, I figured that couldn't be too good. Looking for alternatives, I found this website and read about the pickles. Ironically, I had a pickle from lunch that I had not eaten for fear that it would make me worse. I went and got it and decided, at this point, nothing could be worse. Right after eating it, I noticed a difference. More than I had gotten with all the Tums all day long. Unfortunately, I only had one spear and will have to stop and get more on my way home but this really was amazing. Absolutely worth a try."

[YEA]  04/03/2006: Susan from Charleston, SC writes: "I found and read every comment on your website yesterday concerning natural remedies for acid reflux. I was having an unusually bad episode after attending a Cajun festival over the weekend with lots of yummy, spicy foods. I stopped at the store last night and picked up a jar of dill pickles and several apples, not knowing which type would be best. I ate two pickle spears, drank about 2 tablespoons of juice and ate a Braeburn apple on the way home. My boyfriend had already started making a great lasagna that I really wanted to enjoy, but was afraid I wouldn't be able to eat it because of my reflux. I felt great by dinner time and didn't have any problems during the night. I like to sleep very flat on my stomach, so you can imagine how difficult that has been with the acid reflux! And I feel great this morning, with no symptoms, and am so grateful for all of the advice on this website. I didn't want to resort to over the counter medications because I felt that the problem was a low acid production in my stomach, reducing my ability to digest food properly. A new-age doctor had suggested that as the problem previously, but wouldn't direct me to natural remedies unless I began a long series of expensive tests and regular sessions at her office. This is a much less expensive solution. And is leaps and bounds better than popping pills that only mask the symptoms! Thanks so much for this site!!!"

[YEA]  03/18/2006: Vickie from Memphis, TN writes: "I woke up about 1:00am coughing and feeling like food was trapped in my throat and trying to come out. I immediately took two tums and that didn't work. So I got on my computer and found this website. Thank God that I kept reading until I found something that I could go to the kitchen to find (KOSHER DILL PICKLES with GARLIC). They really work but you must drink some of the pickle juice (vinegar) also. It works (thumbs up)."

[YEA]  03/11/2006: Nicole from North Lake, WI writes: "I'can't believe it. I've been suffering for years from Acid Reflux and ulcers. I've been on Protonix for months and it hasn't been working lately. I found this site and tried the Apple Cider Vinegar and it didn't work. It made me worse but I think I took too much or something. I had a few slices of dill pickles last night (yum-I forgot how much I missed them) sure enough- it was gone just like that. It's 24 hours later and the choking burning feeling started coming back (while on the Protonix) and I just raided the fridge for some Milwaukee Midget Dills and sure enough it's going away again. I'm just amazed! I'm really hoping to be in well enough shape to have some margaritas in Mexico next month. Thank you so much to the creators of this site and the others out there providing feedback."

[YEA]  11/21/2005: Heidi from Gakona, Alaska writes: "I have to admit I was very skeptical when I first started reading all of these comments. I was in the middle of going crazy with a bad case of acid reflux which I have suffered from since I was a teenager. I am now 33 and have still not found anything that works as fast as the pickle juice did. In the middle of reading through this site I got up and looked for some apple cider vinegar....didnt have any, so I went for the dill pickle juice. It has only been about 15 minutes and I am already experiencing relief. This is amazing to me and I will be picking up some ACV tomorrow to give that a try. I am so excited about this. I cant believe what I have been paying for my Prevacid when I could have been using a natural cure the whole time. Thank you to whoever runs this site. I am eternally grateful."

[YEA]  09/03/2005: David from Roanoke, Virginia writes: "What I am about to tell you is almost incredible. Too simple and too illogical. Too simple making it easily overlooked. Illogical, I guess, in the same way that fighting fire with fire makes sense. I have had Acid Reflux for over 30 years. Rolaids had been my main source of relief. I just found out that drinking approx. 2 oz. of Claussen Dill Pickle juice at bedtime actually prevents my heartburn from occurring. The juice is mostly vinegar with a little garlic added which gives it a very good taste. Other pickle juice or vinegars may also work well too. I know that vinegar is an acid, but it apparently balances the chemistry of the stomach in some way. If you like the taste of pickles you have to try it. Also, I am told that will stop muscle cramps almost immediately upon swallowed. I am now stocking up on Claussens Pickles instead of Rolaids!!"

PINE NEEDLES

1 YEA

[YEA]  05/25/2006: Sherri from OK writes: "My husband has suffered from acid reflux for years, and has tried just about every treatment from prescription meds to ACV. He has gotten temporary relief from ACV, and several others, but the thing that seems to help him the most is PINE NEEDLES! A friend told him about knowing an old timer who had used the remedy with excellent results, so, living in an area with abundant pine trees, he gave it a try. He pulled off a cluster of needles, and just chewed on the ends of them enough to release the "juice". It sounds crazy, but it has helped him tremendously. Don't know if I would try it if I were allergic to pine trees, though!"

PINE NUTS

1 YEA

[YEA]  03/13/2007: Amy from Sevierville, TN writes: "Hello Everyone, I just had to post this ASAP!! If you have tummy troubles this is a must read for you. My husband has acid reflux, and suffers terribly, and our daughter has been through many "treatments" for H Pylori. (H pylori causes stomach ulcers) The other day I bought some pine nuts to go in our salad, and low and behold, my husband about 15 minutes after eating dinner, says " my stomach doesn't hurt." Sure enough even Audrey said "my tummy feels better". I began researching pine nuts, and found that they have been popular for many ailments, including H pylori, and acid reflux. It has been a few days now, and Kevin eats about a 1/4 a cup a day, and Audrey eats more, about 1/2 a cup a day. Her stomach hasn't bothered her in days, and Kevin is doing great. We have supported the anti acid industry for years now, and I am so glad to stop! The pine nuts can be found everywhere, even Wal-Mart. This is just a miracle. I hope this helps everyone as much as it has us. Amy, Sevierville, TN"

POTATO JUICE

07/04/2009: Terezia from Dallas, Tx writes: "Remedy for Acid Reflux and Constipation is the raw potato juice. I juice 2 potatoes and one lemon in the morning and drink it at once. It instantly diminishes acids and hunger also. I suffered from acid reflux for a long time, nothing worked permanently. Potato juice did, and now I take it for it's great inner cleansing and healing properties.

Potato juice is also a great refresher of tired skin.

For a toxin-purging, sugar free tea, I simply blend a big piece of raw ginger in a bit of water, pour it into a big pitcher of hot water with lemon juice. It tastes like ginger tea, but it works like a miracle infusion. It instantly energizes and purges the body.

When I have stiffness in my bowels before going to bed, I do a iodine enema. I use two ___ bottles, one with a squirt of iodine in it, the other with a squirt of coconut oil with some essential oils. The coconut oil protects the the bowels, by conditioning. Does wonders.

The olive oil, lemon or grapefruit stone cleanse was also life changing to me. After pregnancy my body went down...thyroid, varicose veins... stones, pain and toxicity... inability to lose weight.... even though I was always athletic.

I had to go on a low sugar diet, with parasite and stone cleansings, doing yoga-like workouts instead of the fast paced ones and praying whenever fear is trying to get me. We can find ourselves restless for no appearant reasons, and fear always drives to the wrong direction, like overeating and organ dysfunctions."
