Avoid Peanut Butter
★★★★★
If you have teen or adult acne and you eat peanut butter or nuts or seeds/oils, it will increase inflammation and create massive infection within your clogged pores.
Please stop eating peanut butter and or seeds and nuts and seed oils if you want to get rid of your acne.
My friend had terrible acne his entire life since he was a teenager and we tried everything to help him with no success until we finally read an article about how unhealthy peanut butter is and how much massive inflammation it causes within your skin and causes acne, so please stop eating peanut butter and or nut and seed oils and it will clear right up!
Some people can tolerate peanut butter, but if you have acne, don't eat it!

This morning I had big, angry red pimples on my cheeks. About three hours ago I scrubbed my face with baking soda, (another solution I found on here...) and rubbed some cold-pressed Coconut Oil into my skin, I can hardly believe it - my skin has calmed down so much and my red spots are almost gone! Even in just a few hours my complexion has improved more than it has in months. Nothing has ever helped as quickly and effectively as this! Totally incredible!

My face is clear.
I haven't found a over the counter face moisturizer so I use regular cow butter. Sounds gross, but once I got clear skin, I only needed to moisturize it. Coconut oil made me break out. Do not leave butter on face for too long. I wash off thoroughly with regular face soap (not baking soda soap) and I feel great and I think I look great. I put the butter on my neck and massage my face.
I'm not a doctor and this may not work for anyone else. Butter has diminished my wrinkles.

Okay so I raved about baking soda clearing up my acne but I think my skin dried out too much and now I have to use borax (20 mule) on my face to help it. My acne is alot better but not perfect.
I hope for the best! I'm not a doctor. I always say this.

My son is 12 years old and has bad acne for about 1 1/2 years. I tried many of the over the counter products: cleansers, facial scrubs, toners, astringents, and moisturizers, but nothing worked. While doing some house cleaning using sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and water it occured to me to try that for a face wash for him. I made a paste and have him use it every morning and every night ~ he uses it like any other facial cleanser and it has been fantastic! The pimples have shrunk in size and many are gone. His pores are much smaller. It doesn't burn, sting, or dry out his face. And best of all, it is really inexpensive.

Hi Azg,
Combine 2 tablespoons of baking soda with a drizzle of water until you make a soft paste. Massage the baking soda paste around the face using small circular motions. Focus on the areas of the most scarring and red spots.
After around 30 seconds rinse your face well with warm water. Repete this process once per day to help diminish red spots from acne. Baking soda can help diminish red spots and skin discolorations quickly, especially when used as a facial scrub.
Avoid wearing makeup, do not pick or squeeze pimples. Change pillow cases and sheets every other day. The pillow case absorbs oils from your skin and reapplies the dirt and oil.
Eat foods rich in Zinc. Zinc is an antibacterial agent and a necessary element in the oil- producing glands of the skin. A diet low in Zinc can actually cause acne breakouts.
I have give this to many of my friends for acne. They all said, it helped them. I hope it helps you too. Let me know!

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS
It quite definitely cut back on outbreaks, and what few did develop were very mild. I am guessing that the sodium in the baking soda is killing bacteria on my face (like when you pour salt on a garden slug).
The only problem I have is that where I have had a pimple develop it seems that it takes an extra long time to heal, and that it leaves what looks like a little reddish burn scar which is something that never happened when I did not use the baking soda. I think the whatever is killing the bacteria may also be damaging the new tissue that grows to heal where the pimple was.
Has anybody using baking soda on their face for acne experienced this problem?

All my zits are gone except the few that I had picked at pretty bad and those get smaller and less red every time I apply it. The first day I started using it, it also pulled the bacteria out of a lot of zits and made them form white heads right away so I could pop them and be done with it.
This is how to use it:
Mix one part baking soda to two parts water- I used 1 tsp to 2 tsp. and that'll last you at least a few days. Apply it like a toner- on days that I am able to not go anywhere, I've been applying it every few hours and have been avoiding wearing makeup to help my skin detox. If you can do that on the weekend or something, that will help speed the process. But if you have to go to work or school, apply it in the morning after you wash your face. Leave it on for 10-20 minutes, and then I put face lotion right on top of it. Make sure you use a non-greasy face lotion, like Eucerin or the generic version of it. Apply it again at night after washing your face. It'll dry your skin out a smidge (really not bad though, nothing compared to how much Salycilic acid dries your skin out) so only put it on trouble areas, not your whole face.
Also, avoid your eyebrows and if you have dark skin, you may want to start with once a day and see the results because it may have a slight skin lightening effect.

This has worked - I've had great success with using Baking Soda as a facial cleanser. To use wet your face first, and create a paste with about 1/2 tbsp of baking soda and water. Gently apply to face, lightly rub for 30 seconds then wash off. I use tea tree oil on new spots if any. Many people use this method and have also had great success.
I hope this helps someone!

Banana Peel
★★★★★
I would suggest doing some reading online but essentially the method involves taking a fresh banana peel (yellow with brown spots works best, do not use green) and rubbing on the face for up to 10 minutes. The peel will get discoloured from rubbing on the face, and when that happens, new peel area should be used. Let this sit on the skin for some time. Some articles I read advised doing this up to 3 times per day.
I have pointed my family member in this direction and will report on the results. Surely if acne is severe many other measures should be taken, but this seems like a cheap and easy ritual to add in. It's all about good habits and remedies adding up. I wish I had known about it years ago!
