[YEA] "I have had recurring acne for several years now. I've read about garlic here and tried it. I chop one clove of garlic and squeeze the juice on the affected area and blemishes and let it stay there overnight. The blemishes are gone in just 2 days, it will immediately flake into something dark brown, and you just have to peel it off.Same with fresh pimples. Quite painful at first, and you have to close your eyes cuz it really stings while it's on your face. also the smell might make you dizzy. After 2 or 3 minutes it will die down and the next day, just wash it off. If you're just staying home I recommend not washing it off. Garlic is fantastic!!!"

[YEA] Cara from Vancouver, Canada writes: "garlic helps with burns or skin irritations (such as acne). Crush a few cloves and mix with a little water (just enough to make the mashed garlic stick). Add the crushed garlic to the burn or skin irritation and cover with gauze and tape down. Replace the dressing (crushed garlic and gauze) every few hours as needed. Heals like a charm!"

[YEA] 05/20/2008: Stella from C, OH writes: "Hi I would just like to put in a Yea! For Grapeseed oil. I am 37 yrs old and I suffered from a bad skin condition on my face and body for over 2 Loong years. The dermatologist said it was adult acne but I'm not so sure. I had tried many natural & chemical based products to the point of exhaustion until I finally found a brand that worked to where I could have my life back but my skin was still always on that verge of a break out at anytime. Anyway - about a month ago my husband was at the health store and I asked him to buy grapefruit extract but by mistake he bought Grapeseed oil. Well Grapeseed oil was one of the few things that I did not try on my face so I thought since I had it I would try it. UnBelievable Is all I can Say. This stuff is so good it took my skin to the next level. I don't even use my usual face cream anymore. If you have acne or sensitive skin. Try Grapeseed Oil It's awesome! It works! I love it! My skin is rosy and does not break out. I also know you can mix it with other oils for added benefits but I haven't tried that yet. Yea! For Grapeseed Oil."

[YEA] 09/20/2007: ika from Santa Barbara, California writes: "The airport security took all my cleansers and astringent last month so i've been looking for a hollistic replacement. Apparently, used green tea tea-bags work wonders! It immediately turns those starting-to-swell-and-i-know-it's-going-to-last-a-month zits into whiteheads, ready to pop or naturally pop itself by the next day! I'd make a cup of green tea, wash and dry my face while the tea steeps itself, then I take the tea bag out (let it cool a little first, but warm enough so it opens those pores) and wipe it across my face like a cotton pad with astringent. Let it air-dry. I sit on the couch and drink the tea while i wait for the 'astringent' to dry off. I heard this stains your skin green, but it works like foundation on me because i have an olive complexion.
** CAREFUL, green tea stains sinks, so wash down the sink after every use. **"

[YEA] 04/03/2008: Winnie from Washington, DC writes: "Thank you earth clinic. we''re all in this together. I spend lots of time reading about remedies and testimonies, the yes and the nays, its all good. I am pleased to read the nays that come from people who understand that even though the product didn't work for them, doens't mean the other testimonies are fake, just as we all are individuals, we get different responses.it's all good, learn from it and ask your higher power to send you what works. thats what i did; I have been trying lots of things, every time I read a testimony, I run out and buy the stuff and start using, and a week later, I decide, this thing is not working, and sometimes get angry because I have a cabinet full of ingredients'don't want to use anymore; then i started reading the testimonies from my heart, and listening to how I really feel about a product.
What happened is that ideas started coming to me, and one of them is honey, I decided to try honey on my acne face, I had half a jar of manuka honey at home so I started using it along with baking soda and lemon juice, and imediately I could see a glow. I also had pain in my gum, and have been using OP with some results, but still had soreness with brushing, then todaY i DECIDED TO USE THE HONEY inplace of oil, put a tsp in mouth for about 5 to 10 minutes, then spit it out and brush, wow! no pain or soreness, I also had a bump on my face, i put a dab of honey and went to bed, this money bump gone. I tok the honey jar and spoke into it thanking all the bees that gave me this wonderful product, I thanked the farmers, the store keepers and last but not least this wonderful site, earthclinic. thank you for taking us back to earth, now i know everything works, at the right time with the right attitude. Love always."

[YEA] 12/07/2006: Ruth from Arcadia, CA writes: "For months I've been stressed out and my face has been breaking out with red swollen pimples, which just wouldn't go away. I spent a lot of money on expensive facial cleansers, toners, and lotions...none worked. After finding information via internet regarding honey and cinnamon paste for acne, I tried it. The next morning the pimples were visibly improved, shrunken. I did a test by not putting the paste on one part of my face, and sure enough that part remained the unchanged. I'm on my 4th day sleeping with this paste on my face and very excited that something so simple is working."

1 WARNING!
[YEA] 07/23/2009: Lisa from Anaheim, CA writes: "I just want to give a big, two thumbs up for the Hydrogen Peroxide skin remedy. My skin is generally clear save the occasional breakout, but I experienced bad skin breakouts for a few months due to stress. It was probably the worst ever, and none of my usual practices were working. I gave Hydrogen Peroxide a try and immediately (within a few days) saw dramatic results. Now the breakouts were pretty bad so it did take me some time to truly clear my skin.
I just want to say to anyone with skin problems, have faith and go the distance, as we all know it often takes time and patience. I also want to second the person who said not to pick at or exfoliate or anything like that because if I hadn't tried to 'help things along' by exfoliating the dry skin, it would have been clear much quicker. I know that this is a general guideline with clearing the skin, but with the HP it seems to be very much required because of the way it works.
Once my skin got to a clearer stage, I decided to only use the HP once a day in the evening, because it was drying things out too much and I didn't need this so much when my skin was almost clear. It looked smoother underneath makeup by doing this. I hope this makes sense! In other words, the breakouts had dried out or subsided to a point where I could decrease the HP, and instead focus on more moisturizing methods. It took me awhile to realize that I was overdoing it, and needed to move into something different, so I hope this helps someone if they experience this as well. I also took zinc as someone else suggested and I can't say for certain but I believe this helped. Thanks again!"

[YEA] 12/24/2008: Mike from Anahiem, California writes: "When I came accross this site about 5 weeks ago and read all the feed back about Apple Cider Vineigar, I rushed to the store and bought a huge bottle of organic unrefined ACV and statrted taking 1oz 3x a day with 8oz of water. I really had alot of hope for this but unfortunately after almost five weeks I'm in the same place I was when I started. I'm 31 and in my early teens I had moderate acne that was easily controlled by your standard face washes and creams. For some reason within the last few months acne has retuned like never before. I first went back to all the stuff I've used before like noxzema, clearasil, acilic acid face wash, clearasil toner and it only seemed to get worse. After patiently useing each for about a week at a time (never combine 2 of these or your skin will become red irratated and scaley)still nothing, just more embarrassing frustration. Also tried cutting out all dairy and meat, and the raw foods diet. I also exercise regularly (3x week). ACV and organic unrefined cocnut oil (as a light moisturizer) seemed like it was stating to work in the first week so I keeped at it, but acne kept comming back with no relief in site. So I stopped ACV after over 4 frustrating weeks and turned to Hydrogen Peroxide and UREKA!! At last somethig that works after the first time I used it!! I just washed my face noxzema, used a cotton ball to apply the peroxide all over my face and that was it. I held the cotton ball over the bigger zits for about 3-4 mins (stings a little) then whent to bed. The next morning my entire face had cleared up by 50%. I'm useing it in the morn and before i go to bed(after showering). This is day 2 and getting even better. Face is a little dry but not ahole lot. This stuff is amazing!! Thanks to everyone who has posted on this site with different remidies. Hope this post helps somebody. Good luck!!"
01/21/2010: Cured from Niceville, Fl replies: "Mike, glad you found something that worked. This is just a guess but I am guessing that you started the coconut oil about the same time or after starting Apple Cider Vinegar. What you were experiencing is most likely detox/candida die-off from the coconut oil. I experienced a get worse before you get better effect when I started using virgin coconut oil. I used as a moisturizer as well among other things. I have never found anything that you can put around your eyes like that with no problems. Anyways the first week I was fine. After that I broke out for the next few weeks. I continued maybe backing off a day or so. I couldn't help it though my body like craved it. After 2 months now, my skin is clear with only one here or there. My regimine--ACV as toner, coconut oil straight over ACV, then my makeup. I also make turmeric capsules that I take for anti-inflamitory but helps with acne as well."

[YEA] 11/03/2008: Kelly from Wauwatosa, WI writes: "I am 43 years old women and have been on Acne medication (antibacterial) for 8 plus years and tried just about everything topically. It had been very embarrassing having constant breakouts and so frequent last cyst/breakouts had not healed before next round started. I had some surgery last July and my face was so clear from the antibiotics it made me start to think what I can use topically on my face. I started using store grade Hydrogen Peroxide on a cotton ball twice a day, just wipe over my face morning, night and if I exercise. I have not had a breakout for 3 months. My face is clear and healed up nicely. After suffering so long and spending a lot of money on different products I am thrilled. I just wish I would have tried this sooner. Side benefits it has lightened age spots on my face. One negative is not to get on your eyebrows because after daily use it will lighten them.
Can't wait till my dermatologist sees me! They will be shocked at the dramatic difference!"

[YEA] 09/17/2008: MissR from Chicago, Il writes: "IT WORKS FOR ACNE!!! I've used every harsh antibotic and prescriptive topical for acne there is, and pretty much exhausted my options. So dermatologists would just put me back on things I've already tried to see if it will "work this time" or work after the Accutane!A friend told me her boyfriend suffered from acne and his derma was sensitive to bacterial growth. I don't know why the light bulb never went off in my head before. But I thought, "hymmm, maybe I should just try disinfecting my skin..." And what's the first thing a person typically uses to disinfect a small wound - HYDROGEN PEROXIDE! I litterally tried it for one week and it significantly cleared my skin. I stopped taking new set of antibiotics the last dermatologist prescribed because, of course, it didn't work. Accutane worked for 3 yrs, then acne came right back. I do, however, take Yaz birth control that helps with the monthly hormonal breakouts. BUT!!! and that's a major but - my skin would not be as clear as it is now without some cheap $1 hydrogen peroxide. I just get so mad thinking about all the money I spent seeing dermatologist and getting prescriptions the insurance wouldn't cover because it was considered "cosmetic" to try and clear acne."

I am 32, never a zit or blemish to speak of until four months ago. I now have these horrible cyst like pimples around my mouth constantly. I have tried ACV, aspirin masks, coconut oil, and even tumeric, but nothing is helping. I am going to try the peroxide tonight as soon as get a chance to run to the store. I will let you all know how it works."
02/12/2009: Gayle from Winona, MN replies: "Could be rosacea, or another dermatologic condition. Rosacea is related to stress, and looks a lot like acne, but tends to be around the mouth and on cheeks: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/rosacea/DS00308/DSECTION=symptoms. It's very treatable w/a short-term topical cream from a dermatologist. Good luck!"
02/13/2009: Kelly from Nashville, TN replies: "If the acne is only around the mouth, it could be peri oral dematitis. If you are using a toothpaste that contains flouride, try switching to one without. Many times flouride is the culprit and just switching to a natural toothpaste could clear up the problem."
03/23/2009: Sandi from Atlanta, GA replies: "To: Julie from Boston, MA re:"Adult Puberty Acne?
I don't want to be one to rain on anyone's parade, but might the cyst like pimples be oral herpes? That is what it honestly sounds like to me that it may be HSV 1 (the herpes virus that causes cold sores, etc.). Just to be on the safe side, if I were you I would get a blood test TO RULE OUT HSV 1.
If indeed you do have HSV 1, then olive leaf extract would be great to use to rid yourself of the cold sores, or to suppress them and keep your break-outs a lot less frequent.
Good luck!"
01/22/2010: Shannon from Blue Water Bay, Fl replies: "I agree with Sandi from Atlanta. As soon as I read your decription Julie that is the first thing I thought of. Either way, you have found the cure I am sure. Wendy from NC posted about rinsing with Hydrogen Peroxide to prevent. OMG...This works! Use as a mouth wash for 20 min or as long as you can stand as soon as you notice them coming up. This is a good one to add to your weekly and occasional daily routine as it also whitens teeth over time."

[YEA] 07/19/2008: Danielle from Chicago, IL writes: "Acne Remedies: I tried hydrogen peroxide with the assumption that it was an antiseptic that would aid in killing bacteria, infection, etc. (essentially what pimples are when inflamed). It definitely works. As others recommended, soak a cotton ball and hold for several min. For spot treatment and to avoid overdrying & light eyebrows, I use a q-tip. I will do this 2-3x's a day. If you have already squeezed or picked, the peroxide will often cause drying, flaking, or scabbing on that pimple so I recommend using baby oil on that spot (overnight). For day, I recommend Eucerin since it heals very dry skin and is non-irritating. I never realized how much dirt is still on your face, even after you thought you washed it well. Witch Hazel is a great toner, after washing. This will remove all excess dirt without overdrying."

[YEA] 07/09/2008: Karen from Scottsdale, AZ writes: "I have been using hydrogen peroxide for acne after reading about it on this site, and it really works! There's no reason to spend big $$$ on Proactiv...because plain 'ol cheap hydrogen peroxide is a main ingredient in Proactiv. And not only am I really pleased with the results I've gotten with clearing up breakouts, I also have found that it has cleared my skin tone up! Yes, it's bleaching it, but the hyperpigmentation I had from sun damage both looks & feels a lot better. The only suggestion I have is that if you are going to put hydrogen peroxide on your entire face with a cotton ball, please put some Vaseline on your eyebrows first so that your eyebrows don't bleach like mine did! :)"

I have struggled with what to do with my face - moisture, dry it out? differin, aspirin..... Hydrogen peroxide what can I say - i never knew i had that much bacteria in my skin, I put it on and all the pimples went white! and have defineatly reduced in size!!! WOW. Then I started reading other peoples succcess and Ted's responses so I have started B.S and lemon drink x3/day = good result. alkalizing diet = good result. ACV on face =????? my face is now red and scaly, very tight and feels like sand paper. I have to admit this maybe the baking soda or the ACV but I am a little scared to try them again - maybe I did something wrong, or is this a normal detox response? ?? so now for a moisturise what should I use????"
04/20/2009: Jen B from Des Moines, IA replies: "I have never tried H2O2, but I have used ACV and I have normal to dry skin. I dilute it in a 1:1 ratio and them moisterize with jojoba oil. Jojoba oil is very moisterizing and its chemically very similar to our own natural moisterizers. It is also a small molecule so it doesnt clog pores."

[YEA] 09/14/2007: Ella from Alberta, Canada writes: "I tried the hydrogen peroxide remedy for acne and it has been simply amazing! I was in the bath one evening and I had a bad flare up on my right cheek of probably about 5 or 6 pimples that I had popped, got out some hydrogen peroxide (I use stronger percent than 3 though) and poured a bit on to a piece of tissue paper and held it to my cheek for roughly 10 minutes. Yes it stung! But it went away quickly. The stuff literally flattened all those inflamed pimples I had which felt super smooth, I was SO relieved! I thought, hey..I'm going to try this every day! I rub the solution on my face about 3 times per day. My face is so clear now with no pimples!! I have a history of red marks left over from 10 years of acne and the HP has lightened them significantly and it's only been about a week since I've been doing it! Since it bleaches hair I thought well hey, it would probably have some effect in fading red marks too, makes sense right? If I get a breakout, I hold a soaked cotton ball to the area for a few minutes, then later on the redness is gone and the pimple is flat. I LOVE this stuff and I think all acne sufferers should try it. Works so fast!!!"

[YEA] 09/12/2007: Mark from Austin, TX writes: "Peroxide cured the Acne/Folliculitis on my face and scalp. I had these painful, sometimes puss filled, and often crusty red bumps on my scalp and forehead/temples since fall of 2002. It was gross, it was ugly, it was embarrassing, and it was now 2007!
Since 2002 I have been to 3 Dermatologists, each one progressively hitting me with stronger and stronger treatments (I stopped short of Accutane), and have been through countless 'remedies' before attempting peroxide. After about 3 - 4 weeks of applying the peroxide topically 2-3 times a day, the bumps are gone -completely gone. The only downside is that I have brown hair that is now a burnt orange color and blonde in a few spots. But hair grows back.
When I say I've tried everything I mean it, from prescriptions to over the counter to changes in habits. The following is a list of some of the stuff I've tried without success:
Dr. prescribed medication: Monocyclene, Tetricyclene, Evoclin, Retin-A, Ketoconazole 2% shampoo.
Over the Counter stuff: Proactiv, facewash, facewash pads
Shampoo: Every strength and every brand of Medicated shampoo out there, t-sal, coal tar, 2% pyrithione znic, natural shampoos, tea tree oil shampoo, nioxin.
I've shaved my head, changed laundry detergents, I've changed my sheets every other day, I've used triple antibiotic ointment, tea tree oil (not diluted), organic athletes foot oil, hydrocortisone 1%, cranberry pills, showering 2-3 times a day, even diaper rash ointment - yes, that's right, diaper rash ointment.
Most of these attempts yielded mediocre temporary results. After about a week of use, any bumps that disappeared returned with a vengeance.
All along all I needed was a $1 bottle of peroxide. Amazing.
Good Luck!"
