3 WARNINGS!
[YEA] 10/10/2007: Danielle from Las Vegas, Nevada writes: "Hi, I have been using bloodroot to remove moles for a few months now and have found it to be a miracle! I am worried that the FDA may try to crackdown on this and other herbal remedies and would like to suggest to you and all readers that this upcoming elections year we have a chance to vote for someone who would stop this from happening. His name is Ron Paul and is a doctor but has publicly stated and written columns about how the FDA has no right to stop us from using these herbs. That's all thanks!"

[YEA] 08/09/2007: Rose Marie from Cottonwood, AZ writes: "I use bloodroot paste on moles and skin tags. As everyone says, it does cause moderate pain and redness. I apply it for 3 days with a bandaid over it and then I apply neosporn or bag balm for 3 days with a bandaid and the mole or tag falls off by itself at the root level. The area then heals and within a few weeks there is no sign of damage."

[YEA] 08/06/2007: Chandi from Fairbanks, Alaska writes: "Hey, I said I'd write back after I finished using the bloodroot paste on a mole on my arm, so here I am! I am mostly pleased with the results. The reason I say mostly is because I seem to have missed a tiny bit of the mole when I was applying the paste, and am left with a tiny speck of mole, about the size of a pen-tip. But the part of the mole that did get covered is completely gone. I had applied a fresh bit of paste to the mole after every daily shower (because the medical tape got wet and uncomfortable, mostly) for a week. A white ring developed around the mole (the part that I had missed didn't get the ring). The surrounding skin was red and felt itchy, rather uncomfortable. At the end of the week, I left the bandage off while in the shower, and when the water hit it the scab that had formed in the center of the ring, it just fell off. I was left with a hole in the skin, not very deep, and it didn't hurt at all. After that, I applied Neosporin and a bandage, kept it changed every day for another week, and after that I stopped applying anything to it at all, not even a bandage. Now it's all healed up,the skin is smooth and there's only a pink mark, and the little speck of mole that I missed. I plan to use the paste again to get rid of the speck. "

[YEA] 02/01/2007: Katherine from New Market, VA writes: "I tried the Bloodroot Paste - I have many moles and I am very anti-doctor. I have been cursed with these moles since I was young. I read about Bloodroot & decided to give it a try. Well I started on one (to get a feel for the length of time & what to expect) I began at the beginning of Jan 2007 and on Jan 31,2007 that first mole just fell off!No bleeding -- nothing- it just simply fell off-WOW!! It is Feb 1ST &I am starting on #2 mole.. I did experience a small about of discomfort on the last day.. before it fell off- so I opted to do one at a time (some of mine are quite large) I am VERY pleased with the results!! And by the way-- this morning the spot where that first mole was.. is barely noticeable.."

[YEA] 12/22/2006: Alice from Washington, MI writes: "My husband had a large mole on his back that has increased in size over the years. He's very anti-doctor. After some extensive research he decided to try the bloodroot paste. It has worked perfectly, just as described. Be prepared, it can be VERY painful, especially with a bigger lesion, but he is very satisfied with the results. I am an RN, and I am amazed by the results and complete and total removal of the mole. He now has a nice pink, granulated wound that I'm certain will heal quickly without infection. Had he had conventional surgery, I'm certain he would have had a much larger wound with the probable need for a skin graft. We are very satisfied with the results."

[YEA] 09/15/2007: Melissa Billups from Cameron Park, CA writes: "I have a salve that has helped people with boils and outbreaks caused by MRSA. It certainly is no cure for MRSA or boils, but it does help topically to remove them quite rapidly. It draws out the infection and pus and promotes faster healing. It is all natural. Please see my website at http://www.GrandmasBlackSalve.com and read the testimonials page for more information and before and after pictures.

[YEA] 02/08/2009: Monica from Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA writes: "Blood Root Salve which I am buying from someone who will not tell me who she buys from nor will she tell me the exact ingredients. My husband died of cancer which first started as small spots on his penis. He heard about blood root and bought the salve but it was so painful that he could not stand using it and went in the conventional methods.
I noticed some very weird spots all over my face and tried some of his salve. It attacked the spots and took almost half my lip off in the process, which has grown back totally. I found more spots on my back and it is removing them with silver dollar size black scabs, raised about half an inch of the skin. I am convinced that since the skin grows back with no scar, that this salve also stimulates the adult stem cells and gets them to repair the damaged areas. I have terrible arthritis and two hip replacements. I am putting this, diluted with vaseline on and around my knee joints and the pain seems to be going away. I think it might be rebuilding my knee. I also had a head injury which knocked out my short term memory. I am gaining full brain function back. I am also taking a small amount of this internally. A friend of mine started using it to cure headaches and he noticed that his brain was unusually sharp when attempting to do extremely difficult tasks.
My husband and I and our dog set up a machine shop in the cellar of an old cow killing plant, where the hides had been cured. I figure he, I, and also the dog, got cancer after hanging out there for three years and breathing the dust etc. My dog has some kind of cancer in her breathing tubes, I am giving her bloodroot also. I can see small pieces of cancer coming out of my body in my shits. Also from the dog. I am convinced if my husband had been able to withstand the pain and just used the bloodroot salve both externally and internally he would still be alive.
I would like to obtain a recipe to make the salve which can also be ingested and I would like to start growing bloodroot, and all the other plants which go into making it. I would like to make it available at a more reasonable price to whoever needs it. If anyone knows a good way to make it please let me know."
[YEA] 02/09/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "The best bloodroot remedy appears to be the simplest, which is 40% bloodroot and the rest is pure ethanol alcohol (found in vodka and beer). The addition of zinc chloride I believe is not helpful and caused burning sensation. Bloodroot if given in small quantities, although salves are too strong and painful because the dose is too large took me some time to resolve and it turned out a diluted bloodroot tincture works the best. The application of them generally leaves no scar and I am looking at the results of removal of skin tags if used only in a tincture form to work fairly quickly. Therefore because of the regenerative capacities of bloodroot the stem cells seems to be what bloodroot is promoting and hence the lack of scars. This is seen also in aloe vera oil and aloe vera extracts also as well as colloidal silver and colloidal gold.
The reason it has taken long for me to post the issue of bloodroot is to resolve the problems of pain and the associated dose and frequency which I have resolved. Hence the standard dose internally appears to be between 3-6 drops taken between 4-6 times a day. A minimum dose is closer to 3 drops taken 4 times a day. The concentration of bloodroot tincture (powder) is between 40-60% and the rest is ethanol alcohol. Black salve caused a lot of gastrointestinal distress, bloating and pain, but given the right concentration and dose, it doesn't cause any pain or cause additional scarring, as we have seen during treatment periods using the bloodroot salves. A possibility exist to use other forms of bloodroot powder, in very small quantities dissolved in water is another way to do it also. A bloodroot tincture can also be purchased from most health food stores seems to work fine also, against warts, Morgellon's disease, lupus, cancer polyps, cancer tumor, human papilloma virus, hepatitis C, hepatitis B, and even brain functions because of its regenerative capacities. The secret appears to be the dose and this is followed by vitamin B complex and alkalization. For some reason or another the pain and the associated anxiety that exists turns out to be that the bloodroot depletes the vitamin B complex, or that the body needs more of the vitamin B complex, some vitamin C and alkalization to prevent the associated negative side effects associated with bloodroot use.
Most people who did used bloodroot skipped with dose, frequency and concentration which prevented their lack of success and overlooked the resulting requirements of vitamin B complex which is why bloodroot is an overlooked remedy. I didn't overlook, but I had to resolve some technical use (besides trying to get them!), and their results before actually posting them.

02/09/2009: Tess from Palm Beach, FL, USA replies: "Hi! I found a recipe for black salve here: http://www.makelotion.com/blacksalverecipe.htm
Please let us know if you attempt this. I tried to make my own bloodroot salve years ago, but didn't have a good recipe so it didn't even penetrate the skin! Ha ha"
02/21/2009: Carin from Cape Cod, MA replies: "The recipe of blood root (40-60%) with an alcohol mixture taken internally that Ted commented about, is that for external lesions as well as internal leasions? thanks very much."
11/06/2009: Eve from Cocoa Beach, Fl replies: "Monica, I know your source won't tell you what the ingredients are in the blood root formula that you take internally, but can they tell you whether there is 'zinc chloride' in the formula?... and could you please tell me 'how much' you take internally daily?"

[YEA] 11/01/2007: Cary from Phoenix, Arizona writes: "I have never used bloodroot, however I have read that it can cause scars. Scars such as burn scars are treated by continually keeping the skin moist. Extreme moisture' should allow all of the capillaries to grow back to gather fully, thus preventing scar tissue. The point I am making is that if it works for preventing scars for burn victims than it should prevent most other scaring. Keep in mind that what ever you use, it must contain antibacterial properties. Failure to do so my allow the area to become infected with bacteria and other nasty fungus, etc Neosporin and burn creams such as 1% silver sulfadiazine cream are two product that work well. It would also be beneficial if you can cover the area with a thin plastic wrap. Here in the USA we call it saran wrap. Its' the same thing they put over a new tattoo. Then a bandage, gauze or ace bandage will hold it in place. DO NOT let a scab form or else it will prevent the capillaries from forming new healthy skin. The scab is what causes the scaring in the first place. I have found that it is ok to let the bandaged area dry out a few hours a day. If the skin starts to harden, that's ok. It should soften up once again after you reapply the ointment and bandage.
Ps. If you have pre existing scar tissue you can use the same method, however it take much linger once the scar has already had time to form. God bless..."

[YEA] 10/16/2008: Kate from Nevada City, CA USA writes: "I have used black salve successfully on many different skin lesions, as well as moles. Two years ago I had an initial, very painful outbreak of shingles on my chest. After several days of suffering I decided to try black salve on the blisters. At first it hurt like heck, but it hurt anyway. By the next day the pain and itching were gone. It took a long time to heal completely, and a couple more spots appeared in the area along the way (which I treated also), but the pain was gone and it eventually healed nicely. I still have scars, but no more problems since.
I haven't seen any other postings for using it on shingles, so I thought someone might find it helpful."

[YEA] 09/01/2007: Brenda from Stuart, Florida writes: "I started to notice that I was getting clear or reddish bumps on my face, in particular on either side of my nose...also that I had a dry patch on the tip of my nose that would come and go. I had some skin cancers removed many years ago and have lived a life in the sun but have no health insurance, was basically not dealing with these new spots until a friend told me about black salve and gave me a small amount to try...I tried it on many places on my face and only one reacted at first but in a terrible, painful manner..it burned and swelled' and turned into the ugly mess that so many others have experienced...I kept putting aloe(from a plant, not a bottle) and pure Vitamin E oil on the scab and when it fell off I had no scar.
I have now been using it all over my body and in particular all around the nose area, where the root seems concentrated...I have even used it inside my nose, tho all information says not to put it in the mucus membranes. One thing I do that no one has mentioned...when I am healing a spot and the black piece comes out. I immediately clean out the hole with peroxide and put more salve into the hole it left...some holes have continued to discharge as many as 10 applications...the discharged tumors are progressively lighter in color until finally no more comes from the spot..the hole closes beautifully and as I use Vitamin E oil on the scabs and all around the hole and in the hole, I never scar...and I have taken a LOT of this off my face. It seems to grow like a plant throughout the skin once it gets a hold and I have a lot of it but my body is cooperating with me, we are a team in the fight for our life. I also changed my diet to complete alkaline, stopped meat and all alcohol, eat raw foods as much as possibe. I would like a source of the internal tonic if anyone knows one.In general I would say that this is not for the faint hearted but it is an amazing experience to watch your body expel these cancers and heal itself. But you have to help it by doing everything possible for your immune system."

[YEA] 08/06/2007: A from Cypress, CA writes: "My husband's father was diagnosed with lymph node cancer and was given two months to die. They first wanted to cut out the cancer and then do radiation. He was a devout christian and he prayed and felt he was directed to use blood root paste topically and I think pills too. He followed a specific nutrition plan to boost his natural killer cells along with it and within six months there was no sign of cancer in the pet scan or mri or cat scan at all. None. I had a history of cervical cancer with two bouts undergoing laser surgery and I took two bottles of the stuff and noticed heavy menstual cycles with seemingly black materials. I returned to the doctors for a schedule for surgery and they told me that there was no sign of the growth. I have been fine for a year now. Later I checked the net on bloodroot and found the fda banned it's use in toothpaste and for cancer; personally it appears that USA is heavily influenced by poilitian money and pharmeceutical money for the products it releases to the public, not off their medicinal merit."

[YEA] 06/14/2007: Susan from South Texas, USA writes: "I have been using bloodroot products for approximately 5 years now. I have spent my most of my life in the sun at beaches and am paying dearly for it now in the way of skin cancer and I know that is my fault not the medical communities. I had been going to dermatoligists faithfully since the early 90's when I noticed what I believed to be precancerous plaques on various spots on my face. Doc's consistently said "no" when I requested biopsies. Mind you every year I went for a check up, I also have many moles. In 2002 I began to really worry and 6 months before the actualy diagnosis of BCC he was still telling me not to worry. So turns out tha ALL of the spots I was pointing out to them were BCC and I had Moh's surgery on my nose and lip, the other 4 spots were removed totally in the office. The result is a horrible scar that looks like I was attacked with a knife, I guess I actually was in a manor of speaking. It has taken time to get used to it, but everytime someone stares I know they are wondering "what the hell happened to her". I believe the plastic surgeon could have done a better job, but that is another story. On a recheck the dermatologist said that there were 2 additional ones and both biopsied positive for BCC. More Moh's surgery was suggested. This time I decided that I would search for alternatives. I probably got the last container of Cansema from altcancer before they arrested that poor guy. I used the product as directed and sure enough, both sites reacted as described. When using it I also have a "control" area with no blemishes, moles, etc., that I also put the salve and these areas have never reacted. I have used various formulas, all have worked. I have treated myself 10 times on spots that gave me concern due to a change in a mole, scaley spots, etc. I know the first 2 were cancerous and suspect the additional ones that I treated without biopsy were cancerous but will never truely know. Each and every time I was treating a spot, my body reacted with extreme pain, fever, edema and swelling at the site. I had to treat one spot on my face 2x but all the spots on my face healed with very minimal scarring. I treated various spots on my arms and hands. I also had some reffered pain when treating certain spots. But my reason for wanting to caution everyone about the potency and seriousness of treating unknown spots is this. Last year I was treating a mole on my back that was itching and had some changes in appearance. Years before this I had noticed a growing lump in the general vicinity of this mole. This "lump" had grown in the years since discovery, but I had asked doctors about it and they said, do nothing, it is a lipoma. It grew to approx. 5 x 1 " and was like a sausage under the skin. I was concerned about it but figured that it was a lipoma because I have other lumps in other places and had some of them removed. Not really thinking about this "lump" I put the salve on the mole above it and YOWZA, the "lump" reacted violently, and came to the surface, I was incapacitated for 2 months, was in regular contact with the makers of the salve I was using. I was ill to say the least. The pain was intolerable. I had to use pain meds that I had on hand. My family wanted me to go to the doctor, but what could they do? If it was cancer there was no way I was going to let them interrupt the process and I had to assume that it was. I was in mental and physical torment for 60 days. To top it off our daughter was getting married and I had to put it together. I was taking enzymes, AHCC, many other suppliments. So this huge sausage shaped tumor came out, just as the small ones did. Gross is too small of a word to describe it. It left a significant scar on my back and is still healing to this day. To add to this, several months later my brother was diagnosed with a rare benign growth that was IN his spinal cord. It was a 7" long and sausage shaped and he had it was successfully removed. When I was researching it, there is also a form of this growth that when it is outside the spinal cord it is normally a very agressive cancer, but I will never know. Several months ago I treated a spot on my forehead and ankle. The spot on the forhead was small and came out within a week. The one on the leg developed into a quarter size reaction area and it would not heal. After alot of trepidation I went to a dermatologist who cauterized the wound. At first glance he said that it looked like a brown reculse spider bite but when I told him how it got there he didn't have much to say and said that I shouldn't use the product. What else could he say? I don't know what happened with the one on my ankle, but it made me very ill also. I have done alot of reading on black salves and other cancer salves and they have a pretty deep history. Like many I just wish there could be some scientific studies done to see exactly what type of tissue it reacts with. I have read small mention of these type products reacting with tissue infected with fungi, virus and bacteria. I am not really concerned about convincing the established medical community. After the 2 very serious reactions I had, I am more cautious in using it. There is a book called "Cancer Salves" that had led me to a better understanding about cancers in general, but what she says is true...approach these salves with alot of respect and research. NEVER smear an area with the salves just to see if something is there. There seems to be a network that I could never connect to that probably has more help and info on the use of these, but could never find a practitioner in Texas. They all seem to be on the west coast. If there are any homeopaths, ND, etc., in my area I could never find one. Well that is my story on cancer salves. I believe they work, but I also believe that there is more to them and it would be nice if I could get some answers on the reactions that occured on my leg and back. Be totally informed before you use the salves, come to your decision to use it by your research, not on someone elses. And have potent pain meds available. You don't want to get half way into treating one of these and decide you can't take the pain. Good Luck."

[YEA] 06/07/2007: Amanda from Salt Lake City, UT writes: "A note of caution on bloodroot salves--they will effectively remove skin cancers, moles, etc; but I wish I'd consulted a Naturopath or other expert before trying it myself. I used a black Cansema-type salve on some red scaly spots on my hand and arm that were worrying me. Be aware before applying it that it HURTS and burns like crazy when it comes into contact with bad/damaged skin. If you have a number of spots you want to treat, start with the smallest one, rather than doing them all at the same time like I did, which was a big mistake. By the next day, brown scabs had formed, and I applied more of the paste. More pain, of course. A few days later, the scabs started to loosen, and oozed lots of pus-like fluid and debris. It is important not to pick at the scabs or try to pull them out (difficult, if you're an impatient, anxious type of person like me), even though it will itch like crazy and be really inflamed. Eventually, the scabs fell off, but I couldn't tell if the paste had gotten all of the bad cells. Now, the spots where I had applied the paste seem to have healed strangely, and I have several ugly scars that crack and peel, and I don't know what to do about them. So, bloodroot is effective, but if you want to try it, you should talk to an ND or someone who knows about it first."

[YEA] 05/29/2007: Rhonda from San Diego, Ca. writes: "Re: black salve killed malignant melanoma tumors... My brother in law had late stage malignant melanoma that was diagnosed in 2000 and he was given 4-6 months to live prognosis at that time. He had tumors under his Rt. arm that disappeared with diet and herbal treatment. The tumors came back a couple of years ago and grew very quickly to the size of large cantelope. I am a retired RN and did daily dressing changes, using black salve to the tumor sites until they came off in large chunks of necrotic tissue. There were times that I had to forego putting salve on them because of copious bleeding but after 6 months of daily treatment with black salve, the tumors were completely dead. He had to undergo plastic surgery in order to have the necrotic masses and had large skin grafts placed over the site, but to him, it was well worth it because of the disfigurment these large masses caused. John fought a 7 year battle and lived 16 more months after having plastic surgery. He died 3 months ago from metastatic melanoma to the upper and lower bowel. He was a very brave man that was able to say "NO" to the medical profession who wrote him off long ago. I believe that he lived for so long because he never had chemo and radiation treatments that MDs insisted upon and stuck to diet and natural medicine. Anemia is what finally killed him. From the blood feeding all the tumors. He had several transfusions but was having more side effects and fast tumor growth after each of these so stopped them. I have photos of the tumors through various stages of salve use if you want to see them. They are quite remarkable. Not for the weak however."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 04/28/2007: Mary from Ada, OK writes: "Well I have mixed feelings about Bloodroot. Yes I have seen it remove "so called tumors". I have used it to remove moles, etc, and it did a great job. People told me that it would not react if there was nothing cancerous, but this is not true. It did in fact burn skin which I put it on as an experient. I had this "white head" gland under the skin on my face. I hated it because ever so often it would fill up with a white waxy goo. I wanted to see if I could take that gland out with some bloodroot so I put some on, covered it with a bandaid and within 24 hours, my whole face was swollen, eyes swollen nearly shut. It scared me and was very painful. A few days later a hugh tumor like thing came out, but it was shaped exactly the same shape as where I had put the bloodroot which let me know that it was burning ALL the skin I had put it on and then causing a scab, which some people may be mistakingly calling tumors. Could these hunks of flesh simply be scar tissue from the deep skin burns that bloodroot causes? Well it took out the gland which came loose with the scab, but I mashed aound on the scab that came out, and there was no "tumor", just dead burned skin with an oil gland in the enter. So if there was no skin cancer there to begin with, then why did it burn my skin? Now I had something like a third degree burn on my face that has left a huge scar on my face. It's a raised scar called a keloid, and the pigment is gone too, so if my skin tans, I have this huge white spot on my face. So here's what I say about bloodroot. It may work in some cases, but unless you want a huge scar, think twice about using it, and never use it on your face unless you don't care being called "scarface" for the rest of your life. Aren't there some bonified scientists out there who want to do some testing on this powerful herb?? I mean, come on, where's their sense of adventure? There may not be any money in it, but I've seen people spend small fortunes on less exciting experiments. Someone definately needs to test out this POWERFUL herb and see what it's vices and virtues are, because as I say IT'S A POWERFUL herb. PS: I used it on a cancerous tumor on an elderly cat, and it took the tumor off, but she was dead within a month. Seems like the cancer seems to spread within her quicker. I wonder if it was because I disturbed it with the bloodroot, and didn't get it all. I'll never know. It was worth a try as I didn't have enough money for vet surgery, but she died anyway. So I don't know about this drug. In my opinion much more studying needs to be done. I'm sure Bloodroot is great for certain things, and I certainly don't want to be overly skeptical, but... just so little is known about how to actually harness it's powers. I want it to be the miracle that cancer victims all hope for, but we just don't know for sure yet and well....just proceed with caution. Even natural things can kill if you don't know the correct way to use them."

[YEA] 04/25/2007: Anna from PD, USA writes: "I ordered the blood root paste, and put it on a place on my husband's back that had been there for years and would not get well or go away, we started on a weekend with coating the entire place which was the size of a quarter. he had instant pain, he hurt the entire night, could not sleep, (which it said if it had pain it was cancer), so after that weekend we did a smaller area, we did as follows, we would clean the area with hydrogen peroxide, then we would alternate one day with bacitration, one day with blood root, it took a little longer to get rid of the place this way but it kept the inflamation down and pain, it took about three and half months of doing this and the thing got well and disappeared, can't even tell where it had been, i wish I had taken pictures, because before it got better it got a lot worse, worse than the pictures I had seen that other people had taken, which helped because I knew what to look for, The stuff works great, but you have to have a little patience and wait on it to do its job. it did not take much of that stuff to take care of the area. Thanks for your site."

[YEA] 04/18/2007: Cindy from Houston, Texas writes: "Right now, I am in the process of using a black salve (bloodroot paste) to treat a spot on my arm. From what I understand from the website of the company that sold it to me, it is working just as it should. I used this product on a similar spot on one of my legs about two years ago and it did the same way and healed completely. Although I did not have these spots diagnosed by a doctor, I believe they are cancerous. (My family has had many cases of skin cancer, including melanoma.) I know of several people who have also used this black salve with great success. I would recommend it to anyone. Hey, try it and if it doesn't seem to work, get to a doctor! Cindy"

[NAY] 03/29/2007: Eric from Manvel, Texas writes: "One danger of using bloodroot paste on skin lesions (apart from risks of severe scarring) is that the user has no way of knowing if a tumor has been completely removed. As a pathologist, I know that malignant tumors often spread well beyond what's visible to the naked eye. Incomplete removal with bloodroot could result in extensive tumor spread or metastasis (a PubMed literature search (available online) turns up a number of cases where this has happened).
The aftermath of home use of bloodroot could be extensive surgery, plastic surgery repair and treatment for metastatic cancer. Physicians would prefer not to pursue these costly options, but to take care of the problem right away with simple procedures so that patients do not suffer unnecessarily. Please reconsider your endorsement of bloodroot products, as they are dangerous and ineffective."

[YEA] 03/07/2007: Wally from Sonoma, CA writes: "Cansema for Cancer: It seems to work almost every time, I have used it about 6 times, my friends have used it, and it takes it away, it dries it up like an infection. My 80 yr. old mother used it on her temple for a rapid growing basil cell,I say this because she had one on the other side of her head and had it operated on 3 times. The last time being successfully, after making a big hole in her head and having to patch it with a piece of her breast. You see there are all those stories."

[NAY] 02/25/2007: Ally from Montreal, Canada writes: "The problem with bloodroot is that no research was done on it. I think you should check this out, it might make you change your mind about using this "miraculous cure": http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/Cancer/eschar.html"
"EC: Yes, looking at these photos would scare anyone from using bloodroot! That is exactly what these articles on Quackwatch set out to do -- scare the pants off of people who might be thinking about using traditional herbs. Too bad the (clearly biased) author didn't show a few photos of people using bloodroot who have successfully healed their cancer and skin tumors. These success stories and photographs of the healing process number in the thousands. The photos on that quackwatch page represent your worst case scenario. Why don't they post similar articles when popular medications have nightmarish side effects? Mmmm hmmmmm. They only go after the natural cures and therapies which are neither patentable nor profitable."
06/26/2007: Chandi from Fairbanks, Alaska replies: "I just wanted to respond to the person who posted the link for quackwatch.org. I had a look at those pictures, and the people in the before pictures do not look like the same people posted in the after picture -- Not because of what happened to their face due to whatever it was they did, but because the actual hair and facial features such as eyes, eyebrow shape, chin shape, lip shape, etc do not match up. You don't suppose it's possible that maybe, just maybe those photos might not be of the same person, do you?? Gasp! Of course not, quackwatch would -never- intentionally mislead people to believe they say with falsefied photos! (Note the extreme sarcasm with which this is written.) In any case, I am currently using bloodroot paste that I bought off of eBay on a mole on my arm. I will gladly report back when it's gone through the entire process and let you know how it worked for me."
05/20/2008: Bob from Toronto, Canada replies: "Strephen Barett owns quack site and he has been involved in several lawsuits and he has direct ties with the FDA where he was forced to admit in a trial that he makes money from the FDA for defaming natural cures.
The most damning testimony before the jury, under the intense cross-examination by Negrete, was that Barrett had filed similar defamation lawsuits against almost 40 people across the country within the past few years and had not won one single one at trial. During the course of his examination, Barrett also had to concede his ties to the AMA, Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Food & Drug Administration (FDA)."
