1 BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS
10/16/2009: Tim from Berkeley, Ca writes: "Hydrogen Peroxide for dental care
I have been using hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash after I brush and floss my teeth for the past 8 years. I just use the 3% solution that you can buy at any pharmacy. I take a swig of hydrogen peroxide straight from the bottle and keep it in my mouth for about 30-60 seconds before spitting it out. It bubbles up and sometimes tingles. If you are not used to it, it will feel weird but it won't hurt unless you have an exposed nerve. Make sure not to swallow it. I don't think that it will cause any huge problems but it will probably give you a stomach ache. This use of hydrogen peroxide is great because it not only kills bacteria and keeps by breath fresh but also makes my teeth sparkling white. One time my dentist commented on how white my teeth are and I told him about the hydrogen peroxide and he jokingly told me not to tell anyone about it or he would lose business. "
10/20/2009: Javier from Lebanon, Pa replies: "I have read a lot of things about what the HP can do. It is fascinating. The last sentence you wrote is exactly what I have always believed in. The doctors and the goverment today DON'T want you to get better, as much as they claim they "care" about your health. If you get 100% healthy, we don't need the dr's, right? They rather tell you that you can't do that, or that there is no such cure for a disease. Question:Why? Answer: because they want your money and for you to "believe they are the only ones that can help you". If peolpe around the world knew the truth, they would think different about doctors nowadays. Doctors today are just a scam to rip you off your hard earned money. I would challenge anyone that takes prescription pills to go to their dr and tell him/her that you dont want those pills anymore and that you want a "natural remedy". They would come up with 20 million excuses why no such thing exists. And if they by any chance "give" them somthing natural, that dr will lose their license, their practice, and their job because the government WILL shut him/her down because the government looses profits if a person gets "cured". Its a shame very little people realize this."
10/21/2009: Janice from Coloma, Mi replies: "In defense of Drs. I do think that most of them really do care, it's just that they have been brain-washed in school. Then to top that off, they are too busy to study natural medicine even if they wanted to and because they have no time, they believe what the drug reps tell them. I worked for a Dr. and she was very kind and cared what happened with her patients. She was open to some health things but honestly, she just didn't have time. I don't think they would put all those years into schooling if they didn't have a calling. Again, not all but I think the majority do care."
[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS] 10/25/2009: Dianna from Citrus Heights, Ca replies: "To Tim from Berkeley, I recently used HP because of a tooth abscess. I swished about 1-1/2 tsp undiluted over the counter HP a couple of times. I must say it did help with the abscess tooth pain. Unfortunately, several days later, I noticed an extreme sensitivity of my teeth to hot and cold. I can only assume it was from the HP. Has anyone else had this experience? I haven't found anything thus far on the website that indicates that HP can harm your teeth in this way. I'm puzzled! I am still having trouble with that particular tooth abscess but am now reluctant to swish any more HP until I can find out what I've done wrong. I did not mix it with water and maybe that was the problem? Anyone with some feedback would be very welcome to respond!"
10/27/2009: Betty from Spearsville, La. replies: "Dear Dianna,I have used 1% hp to rinse my mouth and teeth. Yes, it did start to whiten my teeth a little but I noticed that it left a film on my teeth, just like the film I experience when I drink lemon juice which of course is very acidic. I stopped rinsing with it and my teeth feel clean once again, even though I do still gargle with it. I became concerned when a post I read said that hp can be very harmful to your teeth.

For those who have been warning that hydrogen peroxide should not be taken orally, why is it that so many over-the-counter toothpastes now advertise hydrogen peroxide as a beneficial ingredient?
Keep up the good work EC!"

I used the reach flossing thing and it worked really good. Just try it. HP is as good if not better and cheaper than name brand mouth wash. It helps with gum disease."

I have been in the heating and air business for 30 years and have suffered from chronic sinus and ear infections due to the dust and molds that I encounter at work. I have had two sinus surgeries over the years that have done nothing to help me. The doctors give antibiotics that never seem to clear the infections all the way and the infections always return. I am happy to say that my ears and sinuses are responding to this treatment. I really don't know what "normal" sinuses feel like. Can't believe that this has been here all along and I have suffered all these years due to the medical communities bias. Thanks for this forum. Ken from Atlanta"

[YEA] 12/20/2008: Max from San Jose, Costa Rica writes: "I have faced chronic allergic rinitis since more than 50 years now. Nothing worked (including 3 operations and plenty money wasted on all kind of especialized doctors, until I gave up and learned to live with the problem. In yr site I found out abt H2O2. Curious enough decided to try my own drugstore formula reduced at 1% (2:1) in clear water. I started spraying twice every nostril, four times a day. At day #5 I started to show a mix o blood and yellowish mucus from my nose at morning time only (once). Quite an amount every day I must add. I was at first scared, yet decided to continue. It was the same cleaning routine (expelling out)for 7 days straight, then my nose came up with clean, clear mucus. No more yellowish or bloody outputs. I infer I have cleaned my sinuses completely from a fungus or bacteria that have been infecting me for decades. I have kept doing the spraying, but in leeseer frequency. I do carry my sprayer with me all day now and I think I will not stop from using it from here on. I believe it will keep me from getting sick again, no more flu, virus, rinitis, etc. I wake up now breathing freely, something I never thought possible. My snoring have been reduced or eliminated, and the only mucus I have know is clear like water. Still must keep cleaning my nostrils several times a day, but not as before and its clear. I thing if doctors are keeping this simple solution from us, they are all crooks. And I know how much money I have expent on all kind of expensive treatments, Xrays, poisons, etc. If I am doing something that may harm me, please let me know, but so far so good. I will keep going.

[WARNING!] 09/17/2009: Max from San Jose, Costa Rica replies: "On August last year 08/2008, I comment on how I used H2O2 to treat my synus problem. I would like to add a WARNING: applying the nostril spray continuously came eventually (after many weeks) to be very irritant and my mocus fluids increased, yet still clear. So I have discontinued the nasal spray that way. At least the spray got rid of my sinus infection at the beggining of the treatment, I am sure. Therefore I will recommend the nasal spray as I did only to clean yr sinus, one time, using the spray mix for only 2 to 4 weeks and stop. Now, I am taking several drops of Food Grade peroxide in fresh coconut water (abt 8 oz in a nut) daily instead, as a preventive way to help my inmune system against any potential illness. You never know!Rgs, Max"

[YEA] 04/18/2008: Sarah from Battle Creek, Michigan writes: "My 14 month old son has constantly been sick and had ear infections. We have keep going to the doctor and they just kept putting him on antibiotics. It turns out that the infection never healed causing the area behind his ear to become swollen. We went to the emergency room and they just gave him another round of antibiotics. Three days later went went back into his ped and they put him on steriods for the swelling because they said it was lymph nodes. Two weeks later his ear was still swollen, red and very tender to the touch. The poor baby was just miserable so we made another appointment to go back to the ped. Since we use H2O2 for cleaning out infections and getting rid of ear wax, I put some in his ear that night, let it sit for 5 minutes and then drained it. The next morning the swelling was down by half but it was still noticably swollen. We had is ped appointment that day so we went and they referred us to a ENT and hearing Specialist. As soon as that doctor walked in the room he said he was going to have to schedule my son for surgery to put tubes in his ear. what he has is mastoiditis, an infection of the bone behind the ear. After talking for a while I told the doctor that the ear was actually getting better (I left out the H2O2 part). He gave me the option to do another round of antibiotics and see what happens but if it got worse then I had to bring him in for surgery. Of course, I opted for the antibiotics. I did a total of 5 treatments of H2O2 in his ear. I did it right before bed and when he woke up in the morning after doing a treatment his ear was less and less tender and swollen. This morning when he woke up his ear was completely back to normal. I can't believe it! My baby is happy and doesn't need tubes put into his ears anymore. Thank you God for giving us H2O2."

[YEA] 09/21/2006: Daniel from Spokane, WA writes: "First, thank you for the great website--I've been searching for this type of confirmation for several days now. My story is that I use earplugs when I sleep, as I awake easily. About a week ago, I had taken a shower right before bed and dried ears with a towel (no q-tip). The earplug didn't seem to go in as usual (perhaps the wrong angle). The day after, about mid-day, I noticed that my ear was hurting. Two days later I was in a full-blown ear infection. I stopped working a few months ago to do some studies, as such, no money to go to the doctor. I prayed and the Lord said to read a book about hydrogen peroxide that was sitting on my shelf and decided that it wouldn't hurt. So, I put one cap of H2O2 into my ear and let it sit for about 5 minutes. I couldn't hear anything happening, at first. Then the bubbling started. Rather cool. I kept doing this every two to three hours. By the end of the night, the pain (so strong that I really couldn't touch the ear without feeling like I was going to throw up) was 90% gone. After two treatments the following day, there is no longer ANY pain whatsoever. Praise the Lord! Now, I must say that I don't know for certain if my immune system had typed the virus/bacteria by this point, as I had been sick for a few days by the time I started... Regardless, the pain appeared to decrease with each treatment--I thought I was imagining it until the 4th treatment--I then KNEW that there was a difference. By the way, I should mention that I also dried my ear out with q-tips, and then used a warm blow dryer for about 10 minutes after each treatment. Perhaps I had come down with swimmer's ear from using the earplugs on wet ears--drying is important. Anyway, thank God for hydrogen peroxide and a cured ear infection. I am now using 3% in a humidifier, breathing it in for multiple 5 minute sessions throughout the day, and have seen a big difference in my energy levels--very cool. I might add that I have to inhale with my eyes closed...else the stuff irritates my eyes. Pretty cool stuff! :o) :o) :o)"
04/24/2009: Joann from Hartford, AL replies: "Swimmers ear can be avoided by putting alcohol in each ear after being in the water. I have to do that after a shower. The hair dryer might harm the ear drum by making them to dry. Alcohol will cause the water to evaporate with it."
EC: Hi, Joann. We presume you mean rubbing alcohol?

[WARNING!] 05/12/2009: Allison from Houston, Texas writes: "When I came upon your section of hydrogen peroxide, I find the information very interesting and plan on trying out the oral and nasal inhaling method of HP. But Please caution your readers on the possible danger of using hydrogen peroxide in ENEMAS as suggested by someone on the section of different uses of hydrogen peroxide. Our colons are full of different kinds of bacterias. Wouldn't the oxygenating or bubbling effect be SO TREMENDOUS once the enema is administered that one could get an exploding intestine from the amount of gases created upon contact of HP with all the bacterias?"
05/14/2009: DJ from Pdx, Or replies: "Allison,
From personal experience and questions after I would highly recommend extreme caution if you do a nasal rinse of H202. It burns and irritates the lining in the nose and sinuses. I did it for 3 days in a row (a 50/50 mix w/ water) and ended up with a sinus infection that took me a week to get cleared up.
I found that sea salt in warm waters works really well. (cleared up the sinus infection). I used colloidal silver to fight the infection also. Alternating between the two.
Good luck"

I have gone from taking a handful of pills every morning just to walk to stopping all med's including my allergy medication. The only side effects I have experienced are extreme thirst, high energy and weight loss. Also recently my muscles have become sore, because after a year and a half, I am actually using them again. I'm intending to keep increasing by about one drop per day until I'm taking the 20 drops three times a day. I will keep posting. lotslove. Glenys"
05/24/2009: Glenys from Wellington, New Zealand replies: "Ok, I got up to 15 drops three times a day, but only for a few days. I take my hat off to those brave souls who get this far and keep going - I couldn't - Disgusting LOL! I was feeling nauseous, not from the effects, but from the taste - just couldn't handle even the thought of it. So now I've backed down to 15 drops in 750 mls water once a day, and am trying the inhalation method for the rest of the day. Not into the habit of remembering yet, but will get there. I wasn't sick to start off with, but I came across this site when I had a week off work with sinusitis, and I'll give this therapy my best shot for a while - see if I can fix my nose. I am sqirting 2% up my nose too, when my nose gets blocked. At first I couldn't even tolerate the smallest amount of HP in my nose, but now I almost welcome the sting. So far, I DO feel good, and I think my sinuses are improving. I will post again. Good luck everyone. "

[WARNING!] 09/26/2009: Luis from Cali, Colombia writes: "Storage of H2O2 35% Food Grade (Caution)
Dear friends:
The following information comes from a commercial company but I think is useful for all of us:
"In recent weeks I've been having conversations with a fascinating man in the mid west... Mr. Grotz has dedicated the last 25 years of his life to, as he puts it "spreading the good word about hydrogen peroxide".
But not without a lot of personal experimentation and research, first... Here are a few tidbits from our conversation that I thought no one who is dealing with or handling hydrogen peroxide should be without, and I hope you'll find them useful.
1. Never store 35% Food Grade H2O2 in soda bottles or other containers that can be mistaken for water or drinks. In the 2 cases of death by drinking pure 35% H2O2 that came up in our discussion, both occurred when storage containers were in the home food refrigerator or freezer and were NOT MARKED AS 35% FGH2O2.
2. If you ever DO ingest, or are in the presence of someone who ingests 35% FoodGradeH2O2, DO NOT LET THEM LIE DOWN. Make the person remain sitting upright or standing NO MATTER WHAT. This is because the peroxide will bubble up and release gas from the stomach. If the person lies down, they will suffocate. In both the cases of death mentioned above this is exactly what happened. This is most likely because the pain caused in the stomach is strong enough to cause the person to want to lie down and curl into a ball.
3. If you remain upright, then you will feel awful, and your stomach will hurt a lot. but you will live and have no long term ill effects.
How is it that Mr. Grotz would know this information and know it is trust- worthy, you ask? Let me tell you. It turns out that Mr. Grotz has not only read over 10,000 medical papers on the uses of hydrogen peroxide, he also took matters very much into his own hands in this instance.
Believe it or not, he actually tested this theory on himself. He drank some 35% FGH2O2. Not a lot, but some. By remaining upright he survived the experience, with only a temporarily strongly upset stomach and not other ill effects. Personally, I would strongly advise against this form of testing, myself!
More recently, a woman called him when someone in her household drank 35% FGH2O2. She was in a panic. He gave the instructions to make sure the person remained upright. The woman called back the next day to thank him. She had followed his instructions, and the "victim" had survived drinking 35% Food Grade H2O2.
While these instances of people accidentally drinking pure 35% Food Grade H2O2 are rare, it is certainly worth knowing what to do in the event that it happens. The best way to avoid this kind of crisis is to keep all pure 35% Food Grade H2O2 well labeled, in containers with child proof caps (must be either squeezed or pressed down while turning to open).
It is recommended to keep 35% FGH2O2 in the freezer; but if you have young children you should seriously consider a locking freezer unit that is NOT the home food freezer.
It should be noted that in all the incidents I know of, the persons who actually drank the 35% hydrogen peroxide were over the age of 16. They were not children who could not read. That is because hydrogen peroxide looks just like water. In the freezer it will not freeze, so perhaps it could be mistaken for vodka or some strong form of alcohol.
In any event, drinking pure 35% hydrogen peroxide CAN kill a person; and is always at the very least an extremely uncomfortable experience. So store it safely, locked in a commercial freezer and well labeled to avoid potential danger to everyone.
It's true that hydrogen peroxide breaks down safely to water and oxygen, and isin that sense and in very weak dilutions is completely non toxic. However, strong solutions of hydrogen peroxide are caustic oxydizers. Having the right information makes all the difference."
Best regards.
Luis"

[QUESTION] 09/24/2009: Janey from Grant Park, Il writes: "I have been using the 35% food grade for many things, drinking water, although I only seem to get 2 glasses a day in, brushing my teeth with it and baking soda, mixing it with acv and applying it to raised skin spots on my face and also for skin tags on my neck. I also spray up my nose before bed and add a couple drops to the water in my cpap machine. I have only been using it about 10 days.
My question is this, I am leaving for Florida on vacation in a couple of weeks and am wondering if it is safe to pack the 35% in a little blue dropper bottle in my suitcase for the flight? I don't know how the air pressure on an airplane might affect it. Please let me know as soon as possible. I don't want to be without it for 3 weeks."
09/25/2009: T from Maryland, Usa replies: "I would call the airline. It may be banned, especially in that concentration. H202 has been used in bomb making, and they could potentially have dogs sniffing that stuff out at airports (just speculating on that point; I really don't know). If it's banned, I wouldn't chance the ensuing hassle you'd get in these high-security times. Call the airline for the definitive answer."
09/29/2009: Janey from Grant Park, Illinois replies: "TRAVELING WITH 35% FOOD GRADE HPI am still trying to find out how I can keep taking my 35 0/0 drops in water while traveling. I am flying to Florida and will be gone 3 weeks. Do I need to start decreasing now. I am only at 14 drops but don't know if I should mail it to my daughter so I can take it while I am gone. Can I fly with it packed in my suitcase or in my carry on? It's only the 2 oz dropper bottle. I posted this request and have not heard. I am leaving on Oct 13th so I need to know soon what to do. I don't know how to get an answer to this question. I am getting very anxious about it."
EC: Hi Janey, Your post was answered by T from Maryland. See thread.
09/30/2009: Kathy from Dubois, Pa replies: "I do not think that flying with 35% hydrogen peroxide is allowed, and in fact, if they find it in your luggage, you could get in serious trouble. Do a search for the MSDS (Material Data Safety Sheet) for 35% hyrogen peroxide. I think you will find that it is a Hazmat substance because it is so corrosive. I would also call the airline or airport to make sure of what the regulations are."

[QUESTION] 08/10/2009: Larry from Venice, Fl writes: "I have increased my H2O2 to 25 drops three times per day and am now reducing by one drop three time per day. When reaching the beginning dosage of 3 drops three times per day, what is the maintenance dose? Is it 3 drops once per day, 3 drops three times per day,or what? Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Larry"

08/14/2009: Northmankato from Northmankato, Mn Usa replies: "I found this article By Dr. David G. Williams interesting/informative but I am just in the gathering information stage
:Maintenance Dosage
In most situations after the above 21 day program, the amount of H202 can be tapered off gradually as follows:
25 drops once every other day for 1 week
25 drops once every third day for 2 weeks
25 drops once every fourth day for 3 weeks
