Fibroids, those benign growths within and around the uterus, can unleash a torrent of discomfort that feels anything but benign. Women grappling with fibroids often endure a range of challenging symptoms, especially as these growths swell in size. The array of symptoms can be overwhelming, from pelvic pain to heavy menstrual bleeding, infertility, bladder issues, and even anemia and constipation. But there's hope beyond surgery.

Natural remedies like apple cider vinegar, blackstrap molasses, beets, and castor oil packs relieve fibroid symptoms, often shrinking the fibroid over time.

Fibroid Symptoms

Fibroids can manifest with a range of symptoms, although it's important to note that some individuals may have fibroids without experiencing any noticeable signs. Symptom prevalence tends to increase as fibroids grow larger. Common symptoms associated with fibroids include:

  • Pelvic Pain: Many women with fibroids experience pelvic pain, which can vary in intensity and may be constant or intermittent.
  • Heavy Menstrual Bleeding: Fibroids can lead to abnormally heavy menstrual bleeding, causing prolonged and intense periods.
  • Infertility: In some cases, fibroids can interfere with fertility by blocking the fallopian tubes or affecting the uterine lining, making it challenging for women to conceive.
  • Bladder Problems: Fibroids pressing against the bladder can result in frequent urination, urgency, or difficulty emptying the bladder fully.
  • Anemia: Heavy menstrual bleeding associated with fibroids can lead to anemia due to a loss of iron-rich blood.
  • Constipation: Fibroids pressing against the rectum or bowel can cause constipation and discomfort during bowel movements.
  • Radiating Pain: Fibroids may cause pain that radiates to the legs or lower back, adding to the overall discomfort experienced by affected individuals.

Understanding Fibroid Causes

The origins of fibroids are multifaceted and continue to be a research subject. Several factors can contribute to their development, though the exact mechanisms remain under investigation. Key insights into the causes of fibroids include:

  • Genetic Influence: A notable familial tendency for fibroids suggests a genetic predisposition. However, whether this connection arises from genetic factors, shared environmental conditions, or similar dietary habits remains a topic of ongoing study.
  • Dietary Choices: Diets rich in animal products have been associated with an increased risk of uterine fibroids. The hormonal content of certain animal-based foods may play a role in their development. Conversely, adopting a diet emphasizing whole grains, fruits, and vegetables can help reduce the hormonal burden on the body.
  • Nutritional Deficiencies: Nutritional imbalances, particularly deficiencies in specific nutrients, may contribute to fibroid development. Ensuring an adequate intake of essential vitamins and minerals is essential for reproductive health.
  • Lifestyle Factors: Lifestyle choices such as excessive alcohol and caffeine consumption have been linked to the growth of fibroids. Reducing or moderating these substances may be beneficial in managing fibroid risk.
  • Hormonal Birth Control: The use of hormonal birth control methods may influence fibroid development in some individuals. Exploring alternative contraceptive options with healthcare providers is advisable.

It's important to note that while hysterectomy is a standard solution for fibroids, it should be considered carefully due to associated risks and potential post-surgery complications, including those related to removing internal organs. Exploring non-surgical approaches and holistic remedies may offer viable alternatives for managing fibroids and their associated symptoms.

Natural Remedies for Fibroids

1. Vitamin D

Scientific research has established a link between vitamin D deficiency and the development of fibroids. Some individuals may naturally boost their vitamin D levels through regular sun exposure. However, others may require supplementation. Confirming your vitamin D status through a blood test is advisable. It's worth noting that excessive vitamin D intake can be harmful, so ongoing monitoring of vitamin D levels is essential.

2. Dietary Changes

Diets rich in animal products often contain elevated hormone levels, which can contribute to fibroid growth. Reducing animal product consumption and prioritizing whole grains, fruits, and vegetables can help reduce the hormonal load on the body. Replacing meat with plant-based protein sources like pinto beans and lentils not only reduces exposure to animal hormones but also provides the estrogen-reducing benefits of legumes. Furthermore, limiting coffee and alcohol intake is wise, as these substances have been associated with fibroid growth.1

3. Beets

Incorporating beets into your diet can be beneficial for fibroid management. Beets are known to purify the blood and support liver detoxification. Consider adding a beet to your daily dinner or grating one into your lunchtime salad. Adding beets to your diet can help reduce fibroids. Beets purify the blood and detox the liver. Add a beet to your dinner each night, or grate one into your salad at lunch.

4. Essiac Tea

Originally developed to treat cancer, Essiac tea has shown promise in addressing benign growths and chronic health conditions, including fibroids. This herbal tea may provide a natural remedy for those seeking alternative treatments.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar

Raw apple cider vinegar can help alkalize the body and deliver probiotics, acetic acid, and essential nutrients. Take one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar diluted in a 10-ounce glass of water between meals twice daily to alleviate various health issues, including fibroids.

6. Blackstrap Molasses

Blackstrap molasses is a concentrated source of vital nutrients that can help rebalance the body's systems. It also serves as an excellent source of iron, which can be particularly beneficial for addressing anemia, a common concern among women with fibroids.

7. Flax Seed

Flax seeds are known for their ability to help remove excess estrogen from the body, a factor often implicated in reproductive health problems, including fibroids.

8. Castor Oil Packs

Castor oil has been employed to eliminate growths, and castor oil packs applied to the lower abdomen four nights a week can potentially support fibroid management. However, avoiding castor oil packs during menstruation is essential, as they can increase blood flow.

9. Iodine

Many modern diets lack sufficient iodine, a critical nutrient that plays a pivotal role in hormonal balance. Iodine deficiency can lead to issues such as hypothyroidism and various female hormonal problems, including fibroids and ovarian cysts.

10. Selenium

Selenium is necessary for the body to utilize iodine effectively. Consider incorporating a selenium supplement into your routine or enjoy a daily Brazil nut, which provides the required selenium intake. Remember that excessive consumption of Brazil nuts can lead to selenium toxicity.

11. Vitex

Vitex, also known as chaste tree berry, is valuable for hormonal balance. You can chew half a teaspoon of dried Vitex berries throughout the day; they taste slightly peppery. Alternatively, capsules or tinctures containing Vitex can be used as well.

12. Turmeric

Curcumin, a component of turmeric, has demonstrated potential in reducing fibroids. Incorporate turmeric into your daily routine, perhaps through a daily dose of golden milk, to harness its potential benefits. Or try this smoothie remedy:

Additional Supplements for Fibroid Management

  • Magnesium: Magnesium supplements may help relax uterine muscles and alleviate pain associated with fibroids.
  • Vitamin C: High doses of vitamin C can potentially reduce heavy menstrual bleeding often caused by fibroids.
  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Omega-3 supplements may have anti-inflammatory properties, which can be beneficial for managing fibroid-related pain and discomfort.
  • Probiotics: Probiotic supplements can support gut health, potentially helping to balance hormones and reduce inflammation.
  • DIM (Diindolylmethane): DIM is a compound found in cruciferous vegetables and may assist in metabolizing estrogen, which can be advantageous in managing fibroids.
  • Milk Thistle: Milk thistle supplements can support liver health and detoxification processes, potentially benefiting individuals with fibroids.
  • B-complex Vitamins: B vitamins, especially B6 and B12, play a role in hormonal regulation and overall well-being, making them relevant for fibroid management.
  • Evening Primrose Oil: Evening primrose oil supplements contain gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which may help reduce inflammation and alleviate fibroid symptoms.

Uterine Fibroids

Consider doing a 90 day cleanse to alkalinize the body with either Wheat Grass Juice Powder or Green Barley Juice in 8-12oz of water 3-4x a day along with a high fiber diet with no sugar or simple carbohydrates. Also, consider taking either Nattokinase or Serrapeptase 2,000-4,000 fu daily, which are proteolytic enzymes, to help break up and dissolve the protein-based tumors. Consider going through a parasite cleanse x10 days, off 10 days; repeat 10 days at least 2x a year. Parasites are protein based also and doing a cleanse would be a smart thing to do. The tumors didn't develop overnight, so it's going to require some patience and take time to get rid of them. I have done this myself and had incredible results.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

I was diagnosed with fibroids. I also suffer from a irregular period. When I drunk the apple cider vinegar my period came right away and I felt great. I increased my apple cider dose to twice a day with a few tablespoons in water and I began having pelvic pain. I dont know if this is a detox reaction or my body rejecting it. The pain has been for a week but its mild and I normally feel it in the mornings. If anyone else has had this experience let me know.

Anyone else have throat irritation after taking aple cider vinegar? I am having this side effect after only taking it for a few days. I have prepared it as suggested: 2 tsp and mixed with 1/8 tsp baking soda and water. I am taking it for fibroids and recurrent ovarian cysts. Any advice? Adding honey to mixture?

I just read that pain like that can indicate that the fibroid is breaking up and your body is ridding itself of the toxins that are in it, hence the pain with the treatment.

I was recently told I had multiple fibroids which in retrospect I must have suffered from for a very long time as I have always had heavy bleeding and cramping. I immediately started researching on a natural cure and landed on this site. I decided to try ACV (the filtered kind as I couldn't get the recommended one). I must say I was shocked at the results. My last period was without cramps at all. I used to get pains during ovulation but even that has not been painful at all this month. I'm still taking ACV hoping it's shrinking the fibroids and will definitely let you know when I go for the next scan. I'm still trying to get the organic unfiltered ACV as I think it will be more effective.

I was prompted to share this in the hope that some lady out there going through terrible menstrual pains will read this and try out ACV. I really works.

I came across this site yesterday, and I was looking for a natural way to deal with my fibroids, especially since I believe I have at least two. Anyways, I did spot off and on for at least four days. The last day was the worst due to it being slightly heavier than the previous three.

In the past, I had an ovarian cyst that burst, and the doctor cleaned me out when he also took out my appendix, so I probably have scar tissue in that part of my body. The pain I was having was similar to the past, and since I'm in my 30s, it made logical sense for me to assume that it was fibroids. Well, this is definitely the case. Below are my results within 24 hours.

1. Apple Cider Vinegar worked for me, especially with having it diluted with water. I have not had any spotting thus far.

2. Grape Juice has also helped in cleansing my body. This did make my fibromyalgia kick in, so I cannot intake a lot because of it.

3. I have increased energy, and I feel so much better.

4. Ordered the Apple Cider Vinegar pills that will be taken with water (as a back up). Usually 500 mg is equivalent to 2 Tbsp. a day.

Thank you again for your recommendations. You prevented me from having another surgery and decreasing my chances of getting cancer when older. Blessings.

I've always had heavy menstrual cycles. After I had a tubal ligation after the birth of my 2nd child they were much heavier. Super Plus tampon and maxi pad soaked every 1 to 2 hours for 3 days. Over the last year it's gotten really really bad. I felt better after reading other posts and seeing I was not alone. I don't leave the house for 4 to 5 days during my cycle and soak through in 5 to 15 minutes with clots ranging from golf ball to grapefruit size. The last couple of months I've been feeling pressure above my pelvic bone and the area is as hard as a rock. This cycle I had almost no flow. 3 pads only in 3 days but the pressure was intense. I felt like I was going to explode. I don't have insurance and was going to break down and go into debt on Monday to go to the clinic because I was really getting scared. Took a dose of ACV last night after reading all of the posts on the fibroid page. Took another this morning along with a couple of TB of black strap molasses. 3 hours later and I'm now flowing heavily with clots bigger than I've ever seen in my life. While it may not sound like a success because now I'm bleeding most of the pressure is gone and my the hardness has decreased dramatically. I'll keep doing the ACV daily and report back next month on wether my flow lessens or not. Thanks for sharing such sensitive personal info. I've been to so many doctors who have just told me not to worry every woman is different. I thought for sure I was going to have to have surgery. Now I'm hopeful.

Dear Deborah,

Thank you for sharing your story!

I think you are wise to continue with the Apple Cider Vinegar. You might want to continue with the Blackstrap daily as well. At least 1 and maybe 2 Tablespoons. With bleeding that severe you are at risk of anemia and the blackstrap will help with that. Some find it helps with fibroids and other female issues, too.

If you think you are anemic or feel very tired, you might get some liquid Chlorophyll and take a Tablespoon or two of that a day as well.

Please do keep us posted. I hope you will get past having to stay home for days on end each month. That is a pretty major inconvenience! Take care and keep us posted!

Deborah, I have been dealing with fibroids for almost 5 years. You may want to discontinue blackstrap molasses. Sugar, and high glycemic foods caused heavy bleeding in me immediately. I have eliminated symptoms, but I want the fibroids completely eliminated. So I have started researching again. One thing that eliminated excessive bleeding is taking fiber supplementation to detox excess extrogens, I like apple pectin best. You can also use grapefruit pectin, psyllium. Chia seeds may work. Leave white flour products alone too.

Hello ladies,

I suffer from fibroid as well, very very heavy periods, pain, etc. I started taking Ted's alkalizing remedy a month ago for fibroids(among other things) due to his previous post which I will copy below. I will let you know if this works for me. Other factors are important, such as wholesome diet, drink enough water throughout the day, and drink plenty of water with meals to maintain alkalinity in your body. Please let me know how you fare, ladies, and blessings to you:)

When the body is sufficiently alkalized, the serum calcium normalizes, causing a reduction in cysts and fibroids. Fibroids are a bit tough since the calcium goes deeper than a cysts and will take some time, sometimes with iodine foot painting now and then might be helpful, such as once a week. Normally cysts takes about a month to reduce or in some cases be gone, as the blood will clear up the excess tissue calcium, thus reducing the cysts. Ovaries and menses can only function perfectly whenever the excess calcium in tissues and glandular functions are reduced.

This can be done by getting the proper alkalization so that glandular functions can function normally, and hence normal menses, as well as normal pregnancy, without the blocked fallopian and uterus problem. Some women sadly can't get pregnant because of block fallopian tubes which can be due to fibroids or somes cysts and the ACV and baking soda may help reduce this blockages, or even a lemon and baking soda remedy will also get similar results.

While the lemon (lime) is more effective on alkalizing and potassium, the ACV is more effective on the body's metabolic rate, and hence some reduce weight is experienced. It doesn't require rocket science to realize all this. Only a good understanding of normal body functions. Ideally the ACV and baking soda is taken 3 times a day, but some people find it more convenient to do it 2 times a day because of the heavy work schedules, or other factors.

I know this is an old post, but I'm hoping someone can answer my question about fibroids. I've had one since 2016, it's gotten slightly bigger according to a recent ultrasound. I haven't had my period for 2 years. Is it possible that fibroid is causing spotting now? I don't know if between the ultrasound and the exam it's been irritated. To back up, the spotting started originally after I started using castor oil liver packs. I stopped using them, not realizing that! Now I know they were probably doing what they were supposed to. At any rate, I just had a biopsy and waiting for the results. I'm so mad at myself for caving.

Any insight is appreciated.

Greetings Gretchen,

Personally, I feel that the doctor's test can be a good idea; it helps me determine what I will self-medicate with next. Here are a few things I faced concerning the return of monthly bleeding and spotting after fibroid and menopause.

1) At about 68 years, I had back pain as I had never had in my life. It interfered with my walking. So I tried Chanca Piedra because I thought it might be a stone, which I had never had in my life either. For a few months I bled about 7 days like a monthly, the next month there was no stopping, and seemly by chance the bleeding did stop the day I had a doctor's appointment. The doctor examination showed a polyp that had broken up.

2) Castor oil works differently or so I heard, it shrinks cysts and scar tissue, maybe someone who knows for sure will chime in.

3) This year 2023, I tried out Estrogen cream because I heard good news about it; you get back what the years took from you. I noticed it not only made me feel like my monthly was coming, I did get some spotting and light bleeding, so gave up the Estrogen cream and stuck with Progesterone cream and DHEA.

4) I had no problem with Borax, Boron, DHEA or Progesterone cream when not using added estrogen. So, I had to learn that for me, in post-menopause the fibroid may have dried up with everything else, but I still have to avoid estrogen overload. My sister goes to a women's clinic and get's her tests and has her women's supplement especially made up for her (she has a real good insurance).

Thank you for your reply. My biopsy came back and all is good. Still doesn't explain the light spotting though. My doctor did prescribe an estrogen cream for vaginal atrophy. I feel like I'm estrogen dominant (from what I've read) so I haven't used it. I did however purchase some yam cream and have been using that for the last couple of weeks. I suppose it could be stress too.

Last year (4/2013) I began to have heavy periods that would not stop. Prior History: I was on the Mirena for a full 5 years and then removed it. Besides the obvious birth control, it helped to control heavy periods. My cycle was very heavy days 1&2, slowly stopping and lasted to 7days on a 28 day cycle. I was told I had fibroids, had exams, ultrasounds, etc.

Fast forward back to 2013. I started to get my period twice a month. One day it began and never ended. I began to bleed so heavy I couldn't leave the house. I had to use a tampon and a pad, changing every hour, sometime more often. I was in the ER of 2 different hospitals. The first one did absolutely nothing. I was back in the ER again, had a transfusion, was admitted overnight and had a d&c. I was released. It continued.

The second ER had me follow up with the gyno. The gyno did a biopsy. No cancer. I ended up in the ER again and had another transfusion. I ended up having a heart attack in my sleep. Thank God I'm well. I had an endometrial ablation, was put on progesterone, and sent to a specialist to consult with about having surgery. A decision was made to have a full hysterectomy because my mother had died from ovarian cancer/tumor 4 years ago.

In my heart I did not want to have the hysterectomy. I have grown children and grandchildren. I prayed about it and asked God what I should do, that I trusted him to lead me how to recover from all of this. The answer was to stop the progesterone. I cut the daily espresso coffee and switch to green tea with organic honey. Next I stopped drinking regular 1% milk and switched to Almond Milk. It made sense because cows are injected with hormones to produce more milk rapidly. Fibroids are linked to too much estrogen. My periods stopped after December 2013.

Someone told me about this website. I read every comment. I prayed again. Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar, Unpasteurized, with "The Mother", was what I went with. I bought it in Walmart at $5 for a 32 oz bottle. I take 2 Tbs in 6 oz of water. I've been taking it since February 15? Still no bleeding(Yaaaa! ) and I've dropped 25 lbs over 3 months which could be from the fibroids shrinking.

My Cardiologist said the ACV wouldn't hurt me. Always check with your doctor if you are on any medication to see if it's okay. I went back the dr to consult about the hysterectomy surgery. Praise God, NO SURGERY NECESSARY! He said he'll see me next year. My advice is if you are bleeding heavy get the Apple Cider Vinegar w "The Mother" take 2 tablespoons in 6 to 8 oz of purified water(filtered, bottled, not tap) every morning 1/2 hour before you eat. I feel the ACV balances your PH levels which affect your hormones.

God bless you all for your suggestions and I hope my story helps.

Hi Tameka, I would take one ounce (approx. a shot glass full) of ACV with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda... When it stops fizzing, add about 12 to 16 ounces of water. I drink this first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, then make another one and sip throughout the day when I am bleeding too heavily. It really, really helps! When a couple of hours goes by without sipping it.... I can tell by how heavy my flow gets. During really bad periods, I also take a glass to bed, and sip it in the night. Use a straw to keep it off your teeth if needed. When I am bleeding that heavy I don't care if I have a straw or not though!

Blackstrap molasses is also very good for this, but does not have as immediate of an effect for me personally. I take a tablespoon of it daily in my coffe. Love the taste.

Good luck to you, I know how miserable it is.... Take care.

Dear Tameka, So sorry about this bleeding! I saw Carly gave you some good advice about how to take the Apple Cider Vinegar. Please also take the Blackstrap Molasses- 1 T. morning and evening. Right off the spoon or in a cup of milk. You can take it any time of day also when the bleeding is heavy. It helps me with bleeding. It also will help replenish your blood. You should take at least 1 T. of blackstrap every day indefinitely. It will keep your blood up, nourish you, and may help the fibroids.

Also, to try and check the bleeding, take 1 t. cayenne pepper in an 8 oz. glass of grape juice. (The grape juice is just to help you get it down. You can take it in water. ) Cayenne is amazing for stopping bleeding. Midwives use it to stop hemmorrhage in childbirth.

Charcoal poultices and activated charcoal internally may be of help to you in the long term, if you want to try that. I will link you to a story of someone who used charcoal for her fibroids. The story is under "Charcoal Babies" a little more than 1/2 way down the page.

I also had success fixing excessive monthly bleeding with the vinegar tea remedy and an alkalizing diet. At the same time, the little urine leakage that had crept up when I coughed or laughed went away. It lead me to believe both issues were caused by pressure from fibroids. Anyway, it is one of those nasties that life can throw at women. I learned the cure right here and I'm thankful this forum was available when I suffered through it.

Hi. I too had non-stop EXCESSIVE bleeding from ovarian cysts for 1.5yrs - I started taking iodine tablets and DIM and then the bleeding stopped 2 months after taking iodine and 3 wks after taking DIM. I have been taking iodine 50mg+ per day for 1 yr and it has helped with my oc. It is important for people with fibroids as well. You should also take selenium 200mg YEAST FREE tablets, NOW Female Balance and continue with acv.

A green diet and apple juice (organic apples juiced fresh at home) is crucial for eliminating fibroids. No dairy, soy, corn, peanuts, meat, eggs, sugar or processed, junk or fried food.

Start DIM asap. This all should help. Good luck!

Ofelia: A few vegetables have dim. This is harmfull when taken as an isolate. I take 3g/day cold processed maca for dim. The dose for regular maca is 12 g. Fibroids are caused by injury, disease, and estrogen dominance. This is caused by aromatization. This changes good hormones into bad hormones. Hops alcohol extract taken sublingually is the most potent armoatization inhibitor. Take 15g/day raw sweet potato. Chew thoroughly and let dissolve through the gums. This makes progesterone. Capers are highest in quercitin, another aromatization inhibitor. Sweet potatoes make good hormones, aromatization inhibitors prevent them from becoming bad, and maca regulates them. The 3 taken together are a very effective remedy that cures very rapidly. Google raw food videos for nutritional support.

Hello everyone,

i have had fibroids for about 3 years. The last scan read it was 5cm. There are other ones. I have ruled out surgery. I have been researching on the internet on what to do still I discovered your site and testimonials. I used to bleed badly and had irregular periods but for three months now, my cycle had returned to 28 days and I no longer bleed as before. I want to know:

1. Will the ACN and BSM shrink the fibriods or are they only used to stop the bleeding?

2. is it safe to take them when I'm in my period?

3. What exact amount should I take as I see some say they use 1 teaspoon and others say 2 tablespoon.

Dear Ify,

Some seem to have cured fibroids with the vinegar and blackstrap. It is surely a simple and inexpensive thing to try.

I use both the vinegar and molasses all month long.

Different people are different regarding the dose. It is probably best to start with less and work up to more. You could start with a teaspoon of each and see how you do. Each week, you could increase each by a teaspoon until you are up to a Tablespoon (3 teaspoons of each, daily.)

Let us know how it goes!

To Ify (Nigeria) ---

For bleeding have a teasp. powdered turmeric divided to twice a day with some coconut milk or water. Use turmeric also in cooking veggies.

For shrinking fibroids use blackstrap molasses one to two tablesp. divided to twice a day with hot water slightly diluted and have with a straw to protect the teeth. This done for a few months.

For period it is best to leave alone at least for three days or more. Except ACV.

ACV should be good taken daily anytime up to one tablesp. with food or in drinks or water.

Let us know how it goes. Namaste, Om

1. From what I have read, people are using it mainly to shrink the fibroid, but it will also help with bleeding. For excessive bleeding, you can use the herb shepherd's purse.

2. I do not think there is a problem in taking them during your period.

3. It really depends on you. My wife is taking 1 Tbsp ACV (with baking soda in water) and 1 tsp BSM (in tea) 2 or 3 times a day. At first it was 1 Tbsp of the BSM but I reduced it because I was concerned about the high sugar intake.

You can also try mixing BSM with a very small amount of beet juice and aloe vera.

Hi again,

Many thanks for your replies.

So does this mean the ACV and BSM can be taken at any time? Like during periods and ovulation or are there separate times to take them? (Sorry, I just want to be sure :)

Again, how long should I take them? 2/3 months or more? I'd like to try for a baby as soon as the fibroids shrink. I'm 40.

Thanks again.

BSM and ACV are not extreme in action and mainly bring nutrients to your body and therefore you can take them any time during your period and off your period.

As for how long you should take them, the answer is until you are fully healed.

To speed up the healing process, I recommend that you do the heating of your lower abdomen with castor oil as often as you can. I and my wife did not have the discipline to do it every day, but if we had, the fibroid might have already been healed.

If you want to try this method also, soak a small cotton towel with castor oil, and heat it briefly in the oven. Then put it on your stomach, cover with a plastic foil and put another small towel on it and place a container filled with hot water on it. Lie down like this for an hour. I believe it is very effective.

Thanks for your kind responses.

I had scan my scan a few days ago and I'm happy to report that the big one which was 5.90 is now 5.20. The little ones have increased though, but I am not perturbed. This was before taking ACV and BSM. I had to cut out the unhealthy stuff like white bread, fizzy drinks, white rice etc and included exercise too. Guess it worked. Now with ACV/BSM, I hope I will see amazing results in my next scan. And yes, my doctor was surprised but still insisted on surgery. Not till I'm done with ACV/BSM.

Thanks Earthclinic!!

Dear Ify,

If you can get Sheperd's Purse Tincture, that is really helpful to stop bleeding. 1 dropperful in some water, repeat in an hour. I have done this up to three times a day.

Liquid Chlorophyll is also great to stop bleeding. 1 Tablespoon every hour during the day. Midwives use it sometimes to stop heavy bleeding after a birth.

I also use cayenne pepper to stop heavy bleeding. 1/2 teaspoon in a 5 ounces of grape juice.

I hope one of these things will work. All three could be done together.

6/2006 I found out that I was pregnant and diagnosed with 3 large fibroid tumors. I miscarriage at 7 month term then returned to the hospital a month later to remove the tumors. Over the years since my surgery I had weight gain (60lbs), heavy menstural cycles last sometimes up to 8 days, severe anemic, severe constipation so I decided to see my obgyn 8/3/2012.He ordered a ultra sound of the abdomen and pelvis. A week later I was told that my tumors has returned (6) and they are larger then prior. I was advised the only option would be a hysterectomy. I'm 39 years old and no kids so I decide to research online for cures to prevent surgery.

I have been taking 2 tsps twice a day of ACV with the mother since 10/4 and I now have a normal cycle. I have lost 59lbs have changed my eating habits whole wheat, lots of vegetables, baked/broil chicken and fish, cut out all sugars including drinks and fast food, drink 8 glasses of H20 daily and exercise occasionally. My before weight was 298lbs and currently I weigh 239. I have my iron under control and I feel wonderful. I visit my obgyn two weeks ago and he scheduled another ultrasound just got my results back and he and the staff was amazed that no tumors exist on the ultra sound. I was so happy to hear the great news but I know to maintain future occurences I will have to take care of myself. I continue to take ACV daily and I just wanted to share my story here and hope that my story can be a help to others. Also I prayed constantly daily because I know at the end of the day God has the last say.

Since 2008 I was suffering with heavy periods and in 2009 I went to accident and emrgency with flodding. I thought I was having a miscarriage but they said I had an infection and gave me antibiotics and was told to go and see my GP. I went to see him a a month later when my period started as it was heavier than when I went to the hospital. Well anyway he told me that at my age, 41, it was very normal to have heavy periods and did not listen to me that something was not right. Flash forward November 2013, I went to see a lady GP at the same surgery and she told me to go straight away and get a blood test done and gave me tranexamic tablets and made a referral to get a scan done.

At this point I was suffering with dizzyness, palpitations, a fuzzy head, whooshing in my ears sounding like a heartbeat, feeling faint, hot br eathless walking up stairs and long distances, diffuculty concentrating, hard to focus, fellings like my nose wanted to bleed, pain in hip and shoulder when layng down, feeling extremely cold, feeling extremely hot after walking up a flight of stairs, swollen ankles, heavy periods with flooding and enormous clots, cracks occasionally at the corners of my mouth, gurgling noises in my stomach even when I was not hungry, something feeling hard in my stomach, fatty deposits under my yes, occasionally extremely scaly skin on hands, and swollen ankles and I looked pregnant.

The following day after the blood test, Saturday morning, I received a call from the hospital telling me to go to accident and emergency straight away. My hb was 6.9 and they hooked me up straight away to give me a blood transfusion. I was given iron tablets and told if I felt dizzy or had any symptoms as before I had to go back. Now, early Monday morning my lady GP phoned me and told me to go and see her. She explained that I was severly anaemic and she prescribed me ferrous fumurate 210mg.

When I had the scan the lady doing it had to call in her colleague for a second opinion. She informed me I had 3 fibroids and that 1 of them was 12cm long. I went back to see my GP and she reiterated that I had fibroids and what looked like an ovarian cyst. She scheduled for me to see a gynacologist. At the appointment with her she informed me I would need a mymeoctomy ( sorry for the spelling) and that it was not guaranteed that I would not end up having a hysteractomy. Oh and she was going to remove an ovary. I left thee feeling numb and cried for a few days.

I decided I was going to take my health into my own hands and did many weeks of research. To cut a long story short I was addicted to sweets and I gave them up and anything that had an estrogenic effect on my body. So that meant organic meat and chicken but no pork, organic vegetables and fruits, no soda, herbal and green teas minus the 4 teaspoons of sugar I would add lol.I cut out fast food and eating out at restaurants and was now cooking at home. I also cut out anything white eg white bread, flour etc and had whole foods instead.

In the morning I would take Dim with cod liver oil, followed by a green smoothie with fruit with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar added and I would also take vitex. I would have the same for lunch but have different leafy greens and fruit in my smoothy for lunch. At dinner time I would have a home cooked meal and in the evening I may have a slice of spelt bread with oganic or wholefood peanut butter. I also included into the raw food diet into my regime and this hepled enormously with being able to eat cakes and biscuits made out of medjool dates and nuts and seeds. Believe me they do not taste as bad it sounds. They are scrumptious.

Now it is January and I have had my first period. I hardly noticed it unless I wiped. My stomach has shrank dramatically and the hardness in my stomach has gone. I must also add that I have a epsom salts bath 3-4 times a week followed by castor oil packs that I leave on overnight followed by a special massage when I take the castor oil pack off in the morning. I no longer look pregnant, have more energy than I can deal with lol, I look younger and so much more refreshed.

I say all this to say do your research, don't just listen to your doctors when they try to push surgery onto you and the mad thing is that after all of this surgery the fibroids have a good chance of coming back. Take control of your own lives and think positive.

Much love to the many womenon your fibroid and cyst journey.

Ps I have tried to condense my story but there is so much I would like to say to help other women. So sorry of you felt you were reading an essay (hugs to you all)

Dear Toyin,

You may be encouraged by the many stories of women who were healed naturally from fibroids and ovarian cysts (follicular cysts being a common kind.) without needing surgery.

Here are two links that include stories of women who avoided surgery.

https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/ovarian_cysts.html

https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/fibroids.html

Two things that have helped women with both problems is Apple Cider Vinegar and Blackstrap Molasses.

I would start with 1 teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in a tall glass of water once a day. If that agrees with you, you might move up to 2 or 3 teaspoons of vinegar in your water each day. I would also take 1 Tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses each day. You can take it straight, put it in your coffee or tea or in milk.

Castor Oil Packs are also helpful for both situations, but perhaps a little more trouble. If you want to try them, here is a link to how to do them:

https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/castor_oil.html

You should not use them during your period.

Let us know how it goes for you!

Hi All,

First of all I want to thank everyone for their sincere & helpful sharings...this site is a miracle itself. My pelvic scan revealed 5.7cm fibroid, degenerated cyst, enlarged uterus (all inside womb). I searched & got this site; immediately changed my diet...no more diaries & processed foods, eat more beans instead of rice, dark leafy veges, lots of water...no more junks and fast foods...things that increase estrogen levels.

In response to Toyin; I ordered my Bragg ACV with the mother & organic unsulphured blackstrap mollasses on 16/09/14 at N18000 ( 1 litre Acv & 3 bottles BS). I just started taking it (a day) & strongly believe that at my next scan for sure I shall see the fibroids no more by the grace of God who has made it possible for others. I plan for next scan in a month's time because I also want to conceive and bear children. More success and greater grace to all of us. Stay blessed.

Hi, I have a similar problem. Also diagnosed with fibroids (had them for many years) but have never given me any problems. I'm 54 and at my last exam the Dr. told me I was in menopause and my period lasted a month. 4 months later I got it again and it's dragging on for a month and a half, last two weeks very light. Went to another gynocologist and she told me to have a hysterectomy as I have a prolapsed fibroid which has lodged in the vaginal wall. I hate to have major surgery for very light bleeding so will be trying this ACV as a last resort. I'm drinking gallons of tea (nettle, raspberry leaf) but I cannot eliminate the bleeding. ACV is my last resort and I will let you know.

Wheat Bran is CLINICALLY PROVEN to reduce the estrogen in your body. When my menses begin at the very first sighting I ingest about 2 Tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar wait about 1 hr then mix about 1/4 cup of Wheat Bran in a cup of water and drink. I do this in the morn and night and almost NO bleeding. If any it's very little. Trust me it works.

I also read above or below a lady testified to PRAYING, losing weight, eliminating sugar, eating lots of veggies and only lean chicken and fish, exercising and drinking lots of water. Her 6 fibroids were effectively eliminated.

Should I take ACV on a daily basis or during menstruation only? I want to know which is more effective? First of all, allow me to thank you for this bery helpful website. I come across this website after I had my D & C procedure last Sept. 1, 2012. Prior to that, I was heavily bleeding for a month last August, that's why mt OBGYM opted for a D & C procedure to stop the bleeding. After the procedure, my doctor suggested that I should undergo an operation for my fibroids. She said that I will still be bledding every month during my period. I told her to postpone the operation.

Meantime, I was looking for an alternative ways and means. After many research, I come across this wedsite. From then, I started taking ACV diluted in a glass of water every morning and evening until now. Had my period last week, there were 2 days of heavy flow with big clots. (was a bit panic, took hemostan tablets to stop the bleeding). The flow subsided and my period stop last night. Waiting for comments. Thanks.

I truly don't believe it was an accident when I stumbled across this website the other night. I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids about four years ago after noticing some changes with my menstrual cycle. After this finding, I went on a research rampage to learn all I could about these tumors that were invading my body. Long story short, I was told of the many evasive treatment options that only seem to provide short term relief (if at all).

I'm 41 years old and at a breaking point with this condition. I went from having periods that lasted 5 days to cyles lasting 7 days.. Sometimes 8. Instead of every 28 days, it comes about every 20. There were times when I had two cycles in one month. Its out of control.

Anyway, after reading a lot of the testimonials on here, I decided to give this a try. What do I have to lose right? I am currently taking 2 teaspoons of the vinegar w/ 8 oz of water, twice a day. I started taking it while I was on the second day of my menstrual.

I have only been taking it for three days so far and I have noticed a decrease in bleeding around day three of my cycle. Which usually slows around the fourth or fifth day. The pressure and pain had subsided as well. So far, it seems to be doing something.

I will continue to use this remedy and watch for even more significant changes. Does anyone have any sugesstions on whether or not to take the Apple Cider Vinegar with food? Thank you for allowing me to share my story. I wish you all wellness. I will keep you all posted.

I have suffered subserosal fibroids along with endometriosis and endo cyst in the left ovary for 5 years, the pain used to be crippling but I was given prostap injections along with mirena coil and it worked wonders. 5 years on and all hell has broken out. I have absolutely no pain but the fibroid and cyst started to flare up again, I was given another round of prostap which has shrunk the cyst slightly but teh fibroids have remained the same. They are not keen on giving me a hysterctomy as they said it was too dangerous. I am currently taken a herbal rememdy of Angus Cactus and Female Essence but have seen no difference. Would the ACV work in reducing the fibroids or is it only effective if you are having bleeding as well?

Ok... I have never offered a testimonial before but here goes... 4 years ago I was diagnosed with fibroids (6 over 10 cm each). I had transfusions in hospital and was given progesterone. 2 years ago I went off of it and things were relatively normal until this month when my period was back to gushing and clotting. The doc phoned in a prescription for more tablets but I haven't made it to the pharmacy yet. Why? Because, as I am sure you are familiar with, the last two days have been period hell. The furthest I have gone is bathroom to bed.

Lying in bed at 4 am today I realized I was going to miss my usual Saturday women's group breakfast. I grabbed my iPad and found this site. Apple Cider Vinegar? Really? so I went out to the kitchen swallowed two huge tablespoons, choked back some nausea and hit the shower. I felt better than I had so I got dressed and headed to town... Half an hour away... Armed with supplies to make a quick change when I got there, but didn't need to. Sat for an hour and got up last making a mad dash to the restroom to stop the gushing. But, no gushing, hardly a trickle. Could it have worked so fast? Stopped by the market for a few things. The more I walked the better I felt. Bought ACV tabs. Drove the half hour back home... Went to the bathroom, no gushing or even bleeding. No pain. Not even that tired...... I can't believe this is happening but I am glad for it. Can't wait to update you all on the results of my next ultrasound. God bless you for this.

Hi Lady D -

I am now 50 with no signs of menopause. I have had fibroids and ovarian cysts (off and on, mostly on) for about 20 years. They are SO MUCH better now. I take ACV daily when I have my period, and just once in a while the rest of the month now.

(One oz ACV mixed with 1/2 tsp baking soda, when it stops bubbling add 14 oz water and 2 oz orange juice for taste killing properties. ;)

Taken during my period it about cuts my heavy (and I mean HEAVY) bleeding in HALF. I am not even kidding. If it is mind over matter, that is one hell of a suceptable mind I have. lol.

I am writing to say that if you seem to not tolerate the ACV - as not everyone does for some reason - I would suggest you start taking 1 tablespoon of (UNSULPHERED) Blackstrap Molassas every day. I take mine in my coffee. Since I started taking it daily I have backed off of the ACV daily - as it has made me feel darned, darned GOOD, and also seems to have taken away the heavy bleeding as well. It is full of minerals and it is amazing stuff. Lots to read about the benefits of BSM here on Earth Clinic and on the web re menstrual issues!

I buy mine on the baking isle at the grocery store. At first I wasn't terribly fond of the flavor, but now my coffee just wouldn't taste right without it!

Best wishes of good health to you - I feel for you. ~Carly

In my own research for this problem or cysts I have used ACV now as a regular part of my life. (btw put it straight on a bu bite and itch/swelling gone w/in minutes). Aloe Vera Juice is also a regular in my regimin. People, just add a few drops of stevia to either for better taste or a juice like Cran/Rasberry something non citrus.

I have read that Myrrh has been used for years with female issues successfully and helps colds etc. Just google 'Myrrh fibroids'. I also read many testamonies about a product online Fibrovan which the main ingredient is Nannokinasse (great for the heart too).

Biggest issue with Fibroids is associated with Stress, Fear, Unforgiveness. I'm a Chiristian so I use the Bible and prayer for the above. My life recently had a series of stresses that I know are the root of my issue. We must deal with the root causes for complete healing. I read about a woman who fought w/ her ex constantly, then left for an extended vacation in another country (6 months I think), she went to the Dr and her Fibroids were gone, she returned to the USA and more fighting with her ex and the fibroids returned.

I learned about Myrrh benefits and others at www.herballegacy.com Yellow Dock is also beneficial according to Dr Christopher's experience. Just do a search there for Fibroid. Cleanse your body and start with your colon first since everything is eliminated through it. I've also read good things on using progesterone (look for pure as some creams have parabens) Eliminate all Paraben creams/cleansers from your life. (see dr john lee's books/website). There is another website that shares about cleansing the reproductive organs and has kits available at http://natural-fertility-info.com/ even if you are not trying to get pregnant they have great products to keep your organs healthy.

Hope this helps and blesses someone! Be Well!!
