Thank you earth clinic. we're all in this together. I spend lots of time reading about remedies and testimonies, the yes and the nays, its all good. I am pleased to read the nays that come from people who understand that even though the product didn't work for them, doens't mean the other testimonies are fake, just as we all are individuals, we get different responses. it's all good, learn from it and ask your higher power to send you what works. that's what i did; I have been trying lots of things, every time I read a testimony, I run out and buy the stuff and start using, and a week later, I decide, this thing is not working, and sometimes get angry because I have a cabinet full of ingredients I don't want to use anymore; then I started reading the testimonies from my heart, and listening to how I really feel about a product.

What happened is that ideas started coming to me, and one of them is honey, I decided to try honey on my acne face, I had half a jar of manuka honey at home so I started using it along with baking soda and lemon juice, and imediately I could see a glow. I also had pain in my gum, and have been using OP with some results, but still had soreness with brushing, then today I DECIDED TO USE THE HONEY in place of oil, put a tsp in mouth for about 5 to 10 minutes, then spit it out and brush, wow! no pain or soreness, I also had a bump on my face, i put a dab of honey and went to bed, this money bump gone. I took the honey jar and spoke into it, thanking all the bees that gave me this wonderful product, I thanked the farmers, the store keepers and last but not least this wonderful site, earthclinic. thank you for taking us back to earth, now i know everything works, at the right time with the right attitude. Love always.

Re: the lady who "thanked the bees" etc for the honey that helped her. I think that a true inner feeling and exercise is appreciation and thanks completes a circuit to wellness also. Often as I drink a simple glass of water, I think of the mountain and snow run-off it comes from; even one of the rivers it travels which I have visited many times. It really does make a difference to be cognitive of the cycle that things that bring healing go through on their way to us. Just as the healing is itself a cycle we desire. Even when I have to throw something away that is worn out (shoes or?) I take a moment and am thankful that these things came to me to help me in my life. Every bit of life is a process and I believe that if you cannot look at the beginnings of things than you will never be able to appreciate the becomings of things. As they are really the same thing.

Preferably organic, Raw Honey (unprocessed) helps get your energy back, kills germs of all types, halts diarrhea and intestinal cramps, (including firming stools) helps coughs and lung congestion and aids in the growth of healthy intestinal bacteria. It is a good source of B vitamins and minerals containing potassium, calcium and magnesium. It is quite literally the "perfect food" and can sustain life all on its own! It does not take any energy to digest it because it is predigested form from the bees. They do all the work, we reap all the benefits!

My eight-year-old got the flu, I gave him Raw Honey, 1 heaping teaspoon as soon as he finished vomiting, then nothing for three hours, unless they want more honey. He vomited twice total, and was completely well in a matter of hours! My husband got it, would not eat the honey, has been vomiting for two days STRAIGHT, can't keep food down! Then my four-year-old started vomiting. I gave him 1 tsp. honey, he stopped vomiting and ate honey about 1 tsp every two hours. He felt so much better in four hours, he (against my warning) ate Goldfish crackers and drank a Capri Sun! He vomited one more time and then by dinner, was completely well and ate a light dinner!! Amazing! So, now it's Tuesday, my ten-year-old gets it. Fever, body aches, headache, nausea! Wow, of course, I get the RAW HONEY, I give her a nice big tsp., she mixes it with water (she hates honey but has learned her lesson) I keep her home from school and send her to bed with a fever and no medicine. My husband calls, he is leaving work sick because he can't stop vomiting! Third day, he is in bed all day, eats nothing, and feels terrible. He comes home and sees our daughter, all better in a matter of two hours! (I think we caught it early enough, she is at school celebrating her Birthday!) He eats the honey! Today he is back to work, amazed at the benefits of the honey. You will be too. Special note: My six-year-old (who has autism) and I take the most supplements, eat mostly organic, don't drink soda, etc. we are the only ones in the family who didn't get this FLU!

It is that time of the year again for people my age: midterms! The stress caused from midterms causes me to eat more, and sleep less. Luckily I was browsing along and came across the healing properties of honey and as a science major, felt obligated to try it out. I first used honey in my tea to wweeten and help soothe my nerves. Once calmed, I also used honey to help me sleep and before going to bed applied honey to my skin thay had recently broken out to resemble the greasy pizza I had been eating for the past week. When I woke up the blemishes were significantly reduced, my skin was softer and firmer, and I had a great night sleep thanks to the honey soothing my nerves. I feel great and I am ready to takle all of my exams with a well rested mind and a clear face! *PS someone in here suggested alcohol to kill bacteria but I found that a bit too harsh. I dab a bit of tea tree oil (which acts as a natural antiseptic) on my blemishes before applying honey.

I was looking on your site a couple days ago and saw a remedy with honey to help lose weight. I tried it and found that i had more energy during the day, had less of an appetite, and fell asleep faster at night!! i love it! the remedy i found was every morning, a half hour before breakfast, as well as right before bed at night, drink a tablespoon of honey in one cup of boiling water with a teaspoon of cinnamon. It has only been four days, but man, what a difference!!!

I would just like to add that I am overweight by about 20 pounds. I have never been an exercise person, nor a dieting person as I was always very slim and tiny. I was getting married in the middle of July this year, bought my wedding dress the last week of June. I was very busy planning the wedding, so I was eating a peanut butter and honey sandwich twice a day and large suppers with different desserts at night. (sampling alot of different things for our wedding supper). I went to try my dress on three days before my wedding and found that I lost 1.5 - 2 inches....I had a lace up back on the dress and had to pull the laces closed tight, and the dress was still a little loser then it was 2 weeks prior. I joked around and told everyone just to eat peanut butter and honey sandwiches! Of course I went back to eating whatever and whenever I want, and I am now overweight again. I have just started reading these articles due to a chest cold. I put a good tablespoon of honey in my coffee about 20 minutes ago, and I can breathe normal again,....WOW! I will be eating my peanut butter and honey sandwiches today and every other day until Christmas!

I cut myself while preparing dinner one night and found that I had very little Neosporin. I used what I had on the small cut and the next night did nothing. The day after that it was red and swollen, meaning a small infection, so I applied some honey to it before bed. The next morning the redness and swelling were gone. I applied more twice that day and by the next day it was completely healed. So now I use honey right away on any cut and it heals within a day or two at the most. Honey applied to a pimple makes it go away fairly quickly.

It is also great for BURNS. The other night we were burning some brush in the fire pit and being stupid I grabbed for a stick that wasn't in the fire, but instead grabbed a red-hot end of a burnt stick. OUCH. I ran to the house and put my fingers in ice water. I could tell I burned it deeply (the finger-pad of my forefinger) the other was small burn on the side of my thumb. Then I thought about what I had seen about burns and honey, so I put honey in a measuring cup and dipped my fingers in that. It took the pain right away, but it came back again quickly. So I alternated for an hour and a half between the ice water and honey. The next morning the blisters were unbelievably small and did not hurt AT ALL. In fact the burn felt less deep than it had the night before. Just the surrounding skin looked a little dry. The one on the thumb was completely healed. I have no doubt the forefinger would have been semi-serious if I had not applied the honey. Today (2 days later) you can barely see the blister, as it is flush with the skin and the skin all around the burn looks completely normal again. In fact I can see my fingerprint! I first found this website looking for honey cures and found a wealth of other things too. I love this place!

Honey as a burn remedy is simply excellent. You will be astonished honey ameliorates the pain from burns almost instantly. I have tried and recommended honey to dozens of friends for the treatment of burns by local application of honey with excellent results. It not only does away with the burning instantly but also takes care of the treatment. Keep applying for as long as the injury is not healed.

I burned my hand by taking a pan out of the oven and I had a keloid by the same area. Well, I apply it directly to both areas and cover with a bandage before bedtime every night and within a week or 2 I saw it disappear. I also applied it to my keloid scar after surgery. It does wonders. I thank God. God is good.

I can't say enough about the benefits of raw honey. My ten and four year olds woke up this morning with chicken pox. I couldn't leave them here alone and run to the store for anything to help the itching, so I mixed raw honey and cinnamon in a little bowl and dabbed it on their blisters. My four year old had been crying because she was so itchy, but after dabbing on the honey-she smiled is now resting comfortably. I have other things I am going to do for them to see if it helps the severity of their symptoms. I'll post results.

JUST READ: HONEY USED TO STOP ITCHING OF CHICKEN POX. HAS ANYONE TRIED HONEY TOPICALLY FOR ECZEMA. MY SON HAS A SEVERE CASE. WE HAVE USED PRESCRIPTION CREAMS, COCONUT OIL. CRISCO LARD. YOU NAME IT. BUT, HE IS STILL HAVING SOME ISSUES. WE DID HAVE TO USE AN ANTIBIOTIC, BECAUSE IT HAD BECOME INFECTED. BUT, HE REACTED TO THAT, AND ENDED UP WITH A RASH ON HIS FACE. I AM AT MY WITS END, AND I AM DESPERATE FOR ANY ADVICE ANYONE MIGHT HAVE.

My dermatologist told me the rough, red skin on my hands and tears at the knuckles I get in winter is eczema. Two years ago it was happening as usual, so I put ordinary supermarket honey on the back of my hands for three nights in a row. I didn't see any change, so I stopped using it, but two or three weeks later I noticed that the weather was as cold and dry as it is every winter (although our winters are very mild compared with most of the US), I hadn't been wearing gloves and yet the skin on my hands remained normal. I decided it had to be the honey, so I put on some more. Soon after that, the eczema returned. It didn't make sense to me that the honey would heal my hands the first time I used it and cause the problem to return when I used it again, but that's what seemed to have happened.

Last winter I slept with another ordinary brand of honey on the back of my hands for several nights, starting before signs of eczema appeared. I didn't reapply it and my hands did not not get rough all winter. However, over the winter, I found five or six small tears in the skin. My hands did get a little rough in early spring.

This winter I'm going to try raw honey and see if the effect is any different.

Yes, What you really need is a humidifier in your home during winter months to put some moisture back in the air...

To add to my last comment about honey for winter eczema:

It started to get cold early last fall, so I used raw honey on the back of my hands for several nights. Then it got warm again, and when the cold returned, my hands had the roughness I'd experienced in the past. So I applied cheap grocery store honey on the backs of my hands during the daytime for several days. After that I had no problems with roughness or bleeding during the rest of the winter.

I don't know if this means cheap honey is better, but I am taking it to mean it isn't worse. (And maybe a humidifier wouldn't be as sticky.)

I work in the Aged Care as Nurse and was told to bathe in a few cups of raw oats for the rash to disappear. An old remedy but it seems to work.

I have had eczema on my hands for at least a decade. Early on, I tried antibiotics and steroid cream. They would clear it up for a week or two, then the eczema would come back. Since then, I have tried everything from vasaline, olive oil, anti-itch creams, coconut oil, bananas, etc. None of them made much of a difference. Recently, I visited a NAET practitioner and went through seven treatments. As soon as she saw my hands, she told me to stay away from ALL GRAINS, for six weeks. I did not eat, wheat, barley, rice, corn, etc. Other than a couple cracks in my skin due to the cold weather, my hands are completely healed up. I have been adding grains back into my diet and have had no new flare-ups. I hope this helps your son.

Cleansers and Moisturizers

Here are easy, effective, and cheap facial cleansers and moisturizers using honey:

Cleanser: mix 1/8 cup honey, 1/4 cup glycerin, and 1. 5 tsp castile soap(I love Dr. Bronner's Almond). Pour into a container that has been sterilized (boiled, vinegared, or bleached) and is airtight and you've made enough cleanser for a month for under a buck. Massage into your skin and then rinse with warm water. Skin is smooth, radiant, supple, and clean.

Moisturizer: mix 3 Tbs. Food grade veggie glycerin and 1 tsp. Honey. Store in an airtight and sterilized container. Massage into skin VERY sparingly; a little goes a long way. Feels a little weird at first, but your skin will look and feel AMAZING! And again you've made enough for more than a month for well under $1.

I have fallen in love with honey for my face. So much in fact that I give these concoctions as gifts to friends and family.

I am allergic to glycerin. Several people have suggested mixing honey and other natural products with glycerin to make cleansers. I'm wondering if there is a substitute for glycerin that can be used in these recipes.

Instead of glycerin, you could try castor oil. You might have to add a little sweet almond oil or another type of oil to combat the sticky factor, as castor oil is also quite viscous.

I take issue with the requirement for using local honey. My mom found the Dr. Jarvis folk medicine suggestion of taking honey to alleviate sniffles. Works great! To test this, mom & dad brought me honey from Spain. *SAME* wonderful effect. It isn't the local part of the honey that works, it's the *honey* part, irrespective of origin!

I struggled with severe constipation for years, and it was getting worse. I tried many natural products and had always tried to stay away from harsh laxitives. I had a colonoscopy several months ago just to see if there was anything wrong. I did have 2 pre-cancerous polyps but no blockage. I had resorted to taking Golytely twice a day per my physician's recommendations, with poor results. (Golytely is used as a bowel prep!) My chiropractor said I should try honey, 2 teaspoons, three times a day. I thought, yeah, right! It works! (Do not give honey to babies, it can cause botulism in infants).

Coughs

This remedy is especially good for kids but works for adults as well. It is mainly for coughs due to colds (not pneumonia or bronchitis - those require antibiotics). The honey is to be gently warmed so it's easier to spread on the chest, rub on chest like you would Vicks, and cover with cloth or towel. Best done at bed time so that you are laying down and not moving too much. Remove in morning. The honey causes the cough to ripen much quicker and releases all the mucous built up in the chest so you can expel it. It will not make you cough LESS, it will just allow your body to release the mucous quicker and hence get over the cough much faster. You can repeat the honey procedure every night until cured. My family has used this remedy for many years. Reminder, this is not like a cough syrup which simply suppresses your urge to cough. This is a method that allows enables your body to heal faster by expediting the process.

Last summer I tripped and severely scraped my left knee, right down to the collagen in some places.

After drying and washing the rather large wound, I simply slathered it with Manuka Honey and covered it with 2 of the biggest bandaids I could buy. It would slightly sting for a minute, but that was okay because I knew it was working. After that, I would forget it was even there.

The scrape was so big that it took 3 weeks to finally re-grow all the skin, but due to the Manuka, I never had to de-bride, never had any infections or redness; it was healing cleanly and beautifully. thanks to the Manuka I hardly even had scars!

But after the bandaids were removed, I must've touched my knee after the dog licked my hand or something, because then I noticed that some small boils were there.

I came to this site and tried the trusted and true remedies for boils, which included Manuka Honey. I ended up making a paste of turmeric, ACV and manuka honey and put this on my carbuncle (for there were many small boils now) - and voila, they were all gone within 3 hours! Yeah, you read that right. Unbelievable.

Now all that is left are two very small scars on a knee that had to re-grow all of its skin, with no mottling or jagged edges, just a plain ole knee. It was all due to this fantastic site that I came thru that so well. Thanks Earth Clinic!

Kindly give me information on how honey can cure, reduce or eradicate diabetics.

EC: Hi Eben,

Honey is not a cure for diabetes! A topical application can help heal skin ulcers associated with diabetes, however.
