You may have heard that a merry heart or a good laugh is like a medicine, it can heal. I want to tip you that showing love or that you care can give life too.
Some people give up on life because the love they gave was not returned. I want to encourage you to take that good that you wanted to pour out on that individual and love a hurting world of people back to health.
You have heard that hurt people, hurt people, I want to add that sometimes hurt people hurt themselves too.
We have to make up our minds not to say negative words about ourselves or others.
We must realize how important our love, wisdom, and smiles are to others.
When I was young I remembered feeling rejected by a group I wanted to be a part of.
The hurt was so bad I would actually go down a list of who nobody loves you were. My thoughts would say, your mama doesn't love you, your daddy don't love you, your sisters don't love you, your brother doesn't love you. Then one day I added God doesn't even love. That ended that it, the Lord spoke to my heart to say, Never say that again, because he has proven his love by sending his Son.
I said all that to say stop repeating negative words about you. What you say about you should give life and energy to you.
You are beautiful!
You are so lovable,
You are so kind,
You always think of others,
I love your smile, it makes me want to smile.
The world needs more people like you.

Acts of love that heals broken hearts can often be as simple as a show of appreciation now and then.
When my nephew's busy father showed up for his college graduation it gave him a smile and laugher that he could not hide. They were often in disagreements, but this was a healing moment for both of them. And I snapped the picture.
I remember another two way healing. I was on a train, perhaps in my forties at the time. When a young man asked for money for food. He did not look homeless, but I understood what broke was. I gave him a $5.
( Usually give less ) but because I thought he doesn't look to be one making a living this way I wanted to help.
Before I knew it the guy dropped to his knees and began to sing of his gratefulness.
Well I was a young woman, it shocked me at first. When he got off his knees I was happier, and I had a story to tell.
I have never thought of myself as one that cause men to fall to their knees and it may never happen again, but it happened that day.

Testing those challenged limbs may surprise you one day.
When I was a little girl about 4, I had a folding chair. One day I opened my chair to sit in it. It was not fully hooked. I sat on it with my hand holding the seat and the chair collapsed chopping off a small piece of my index finger (pointer finger). I do no remember how long I wore a cast, all I know is when they took it off I never used my index finger again for a few years. For some reason or other my mother decided to challenge me one day when she saw me writing with the finger pointed out as usual. She asked, "Jewel, (Nickname) why don't you use that finger?" I answered, "I can't mommy." She said, "Try." So I tried. And to my amazement my finger worked. It could bend, it could write. "WOW" Mothers come up with the greatest ideas, Try!
You never know what you can do unless you try and try again.

In 2019, when my Mother was in the hospital, my family members and I stayed in the hospital with her day and night. If two were in her hospital room the others stayed in the waiting room. During that time I met a very interesting woman of faith. Let's call her Ms. Lilley. Ms. Lilley who was on dialysis a couple of days a week, also was in the hospital night and day to pray her son through. And anyone one in the waiting room that she thought would pray she asked to go in her son's room to pray. I do know that he got out of the ICU safely and I pray out of the hospital safely. However, this motivation story is about Ms. Lilley
Well one day as Ms. Lilley and I sat in the waiting room, she volunteered, there was a time I could not walk. I only have one son, and a neighbor to see about me. She said, every day I would work my feet, work my feet, and pat them on the floor. Then one day I just got up and walked. Praise God!

It has a Western theme, so should hold some appeal for those of you in the US of A.
I hope you will excuse me if I relate how, when we were younger back in the day, we would jokingly nudge each other on "How to Confuse an American". You would ask him/her to meet you in the autumn, by the lift on the ground / first floor of a building in a fortnight's time. Never failed to perplex.
However, on my visits to America, I was shocked to discover that you had "Drug Stores" - Oh dear, what goes on in there I wonder?
Back home we used to have "Chemists" in each village or town but then they morphed into (posher?) "Pharmacies" after a while.
Trouble is, that one of ours a few days ago lost the first letter from the sign above the shop, so unfortunately it now reads: ...HARMACY. Might lose a few customers I venture to guess.
"First, do no harm".

I left and told a friend of my experience the next day at work. He told me that that was the Scott family, whose daughter was Coretta Scott King, MLK's wife. Few have had life's experiences that I have. Some say I should write a book, but too much water under the bridge for that. I remember that MLK said it was not the color of your skin, but the content of your character. True 60+ years ago and true today. ====ORH====

Great that you are still up to all your mischief and turning the greenhorns into red necks!! I think I know what SHTF means!!
"Back in the day", during the halcyon days of the hippies (that might stir you up), a small group of us greenhorns from college mosied hundreds of kilometres down to a tiny, little settlement called Jerusalem on the Whangonui river where a group of hippies led by a certain charismatic fellow, James K. Baxter, had set up their commune of Peace and Love!! We went there to sit at the feet of our new Guru to soak up his wisdom!
Not everyone had a car back then, so I was nominated owner/driver and we made the long trek down from the Big Smoke to Jerusalem and we camped by the roadside all the way down there. Lots of hills and very windy roads in the North Island of New Zealand-not great for the car-sick type traveler and because there were a lot of gravel roads in the sixties, travel to that very remote area took ages! I mean AGES.
Well, we didn't know what to take as a peace offering (Koha in Maori) so we opted for bananas cos we thought they might think them exotic ha ha!! Really! I think they might have been considered a special treat back then - like caviar or truffles.
Our small group was warmly welcomed, even though they appeared to be running out of food and they served us up a huge pot of possum stew consumed with relish by said weary, dusty travelers. Apparently that had become their main staple dish!
It was only later that we learned that they were "road kill" possums. Ah- life was a lot more basic back then!
BTW, I was only ever in the States for any length of time in the 60s. The Vietnam War was in full swing (Forest Gump era) and because I had a small, goatee beard, I was continually accosted in the street by Americans demanding to know if I was a hippy. "Hey guy, you a hippy?" (excuse me!!??) They were most unhappy and did not believe me when I emphatically told them that I wasn't. Spoiled their day-is it too late for an apology I wonder?

My mother, which I always called Aunt Edith, told me that I was born at night. But it was not last night. Boys and Girls, the excitement is about to begin. Laugh if you want, but all this is about the end of times. We are now at Good vs Evil and I want to hang around to see the end. HI U OLE PATOOTS, ORH here and I slept through it all. Ole folks sleep after they eat and that's what I did. The tornado hit about 6pm and all had their boats in the water and not on their lifts. Most all our neighbors boats sank. The blow never came down to the ground, but tore up our trees. We lost one tree at the farm and will have a year of firewood. Corn down, but will survive. Nature is a wild and strange creature. Best not mess with her. Moving older chicks to the farm tomorrow and the young ones go from the #3 tub in the bathroom to our lake pen. Got a plan to buy only cornish roosters and neuter them to Capons this fall. Story to follow. Getting ready for the coming revolution. Health is not an issue if you dead.
