Rick: Eating cooked regular food and taking supplements is what I did. The solution is eating the best foods the right way. I take the concentrated powders because they are easier and less costly. They can be purchased on the internet. I take raw honey, whole dried cane, date, and palm sugars, and activated barley for carbs. I take 20g coconut oil, 30g black chia seeds, and 1tsp sesame oil for fats. I take hawaiin spirulina, chlorella, nondefatted dessicated liver, raw cocoa powder, and nondenatured whey isolate for protein. I take absorbable colostrum, skate liver oil, 90, 000hu cayenne, cold processed maca, yucca powder, high mountain hand harvested cold water extracted shilajit, 17 mushroom extract blend from Washington, thai fish sauce that has been fermented for 2 years, organic tomato paste, home brewed water kefir, and vanilla bean for special goodies.

Hi Rick,
I started out taking a multi vitamin, then added 2000 mg of C, then L-Lysine, then Glucosamine/Chondroiin. I was up to 9 pills a day. I was spending a ridiculous amount of money... and I didn't feel really any different.
Try using ONLY extra virgin cold pressed coconut oil!! Take a moment and look up all the wonderful health benefits of coconut oil, as this will help you determine the best way to use it for you (really quite amazing stuff) It is wonderful to cook with, so your wife can start with coconut oil in the pan. you can also use a tsp. in your coffee every day! It will lower your bad cholesterol and raise your good. It is also wonderful for keeping your body hydrated from the inside out (or from the outside in as it makes for a wonderful skin moisturizer). Sometimes its good to wipe the slate clean and start with one thing at a time (unless it's prescribed by your doctor) Try it for at least 3 weeks. see if you notice a change (other than the extra change in your pocket! ) Please check with your doctor. Banana's are also sometimes good for leg cramps (potassium)
Rick: If all these good things you're doing isn't working, you may want to try a gallbladder cleanse as gallstones will not allow the liver to properly metabolize cholesterol. If you do remove a bunch of gallstones (which are mostly ldl cholesterol accumulated), you can expect a significant drop in ldl. After this, take triple strength lecithin to prevent any more cholesterol gallstone formation.

Many people come to earth clinic after they realize the side effects from Statin drugs. Still the lies about cholesterol and heart disease are still lodged deeply in their minds. If they take the time to research heart disease, they will realize that addressing the cholesterol does not address heart disease. They will also realize that they wasted their time and neglected more important things regarding heart disease and health. They will also realize that you can eat as much cholesterol as you want and still have a healthy heart.
I brought down my cholesterol from 298 to 178 within a month by: taking 2T of metamucil and 2T of granular lethicin 2-3 times a day, also a few good multi vits/minerals-- my doc was amazed but she only focused on the metamucil and not the lethicin. Hope this is a help to you.

Why is taking down your cholesterol important? Studies have shown that cholesterol level does not make one more or less prone to heart attacks. People with low cholesterol get heart attacks as much as people that have high cholesterol.

Why trying to get my cholesterol levels down? Because I want to, that's why. Why do you bother to ask? You don't see any problem with cholesterol, so you don't want to lower it. I do want to lower mine. I don't owe you a reason why. If you don't have anything to offer, why bother posting?

Prioris from Fl: You are correct. The clinical trial that is used to falsely assert that high cholesterol is connected to heart problems actually proves that there is no such correlation. Anyone can read the study and see this fact for themselves. The cholesterol mania was just a fear campaign. A conspiracy to defraud the public. A treason against the citizens.
You are entirely correct to point this out to anyone who is worried about their cholesterol numbers.... Even if they do not appreciate it now, they hopefully will later, when they are able to see more clearly what kind of mental prison the conspirators have put them in. Carry on.

Happy and Prioris: You are right. A good liver makes good cholestrol that stays in suspension. A bad liver makes bad cholestrol that oxidizes and solidifies.

Carrot Juice! My cholesterol is now in the normal range, it went from 294 to 184 within a few months! My cholesterol is "not" food related! I posted this in the remedy section a couple of years ago. Not all pills work for everybody but I know Carrot Juice will! Carrot Juice worked for me and I know it will work for you. Take at least an 8 oz glass a day and if 8 oz. doesn't do it take a little bit more than that but it will definitley work! Make your own or buy it in the grocery store!

My cholesterol increased from 200 to 212, but my doctor wasn't concerned because my HDL went from 40 to 55, while my LDL reduced from 152 to 149. My triglycerides level is always very low.
I started my regular exercise program using my treadmil, while eating oatmeal in the morning, taking fish oil and flaxseed oil. I also eat salmon and very healthy diet. I will see what will happen in two to three months using ACV remedy. I am hoping for a nice result.

HI U ELLE, good for you. Suggest you read the new book out .......PEO SOLUTIONS. Fish oil is bad news Charlie, not an opinion, fact. The supplement industry is almost as bad as the Pharmaceutical folks. Before you respond, read the book. This book is just out and should receive the Pulitzer prize for medicine. This revelation is even more better than when the New Zealand doctors said that ulcers were caused by e-coli and were ridiculed for 10 years by their peers.
That is until they received the Pulitzer prize for medicine.
As the book says, medicine is not science, it is an opinion of folks who do the study and they all have a self serving agenda. It's a money thing.

HI U GERTG, , , , , , , , , , , most MD's don't have a clue as to how to use flushing Niacin and as a result turn the patient off. They had rather you be on a statin drug anyway. First people flush at a different dosages. I always buy my supplement in 100 mg capsules so I can slowly build up to the dosage that just causes me to flush. I suspect that at 500 mg you were way high on your tolerance. I find that flushing near bedtime affects my sleep. The Naturopath who introduced me to this detox, said to start a short walk after taking the supplement as exercise aids in starting the flush.
I encourage you to start at 200 mg and take a morning walk. If you do not flush then go to 300mg the next day. You will soon find what works for you without a lot of hassle.
Hope this has been of some help.

Some more information on Niacin. it's true that people will have differing flush reactions when taking higher dose niacin, but there are several other options open to you.
First, you can just try taking higher dose niacin at mealtimes.Taking it with food greatly lessens the flush effect because of slower absorption into the body with the food.
Secondly, you can take an aspirin 20 mins before you take the niacin. You will have very little, if any, flushing effects using this method.
Thirdly, you can supplement the no-flush niacin or inositol hexanicotinate which is the slow release niacin form that has no flushing effects at all. With this method you can take up to 1500 mgs twice a day with no side-effects.

I didn't mind the flush, even tho it was uncomfortable. What got me was the lowered blood pressure that caused me to black out. I'd like to take the niacin for the cholesterol, but I can't be passing out every day. I felt weak all day after that yesterday. I can get some lower dose niacin and start on that, but wow, I wasn't expecting to faint.

I've started niacin + vit C. Per Dr Saul, you do equal parts of each but my niacin flush occurs with such a small dose that I'm doing the vit c much higher. I'm taking maybe 70 mg niacin 3x/d and a total of 1000 mg of c. Very low, but I can tolerate it easily enough. My question is this: for niacin to work for cholesterol, you must feel the flush? I get a pretty good flush w/ this dose and hope for it to become more moderate by the time the long weekend is over--don't want to explain at work why I'm so red. Thanks all.

My husband's doctor told him to start out with 100 mg everyday for the first two weeks then up the dose, to another 100 mg in another two weeks til you get up to the 500 mg dose level, then leave it at the 500 mg dose every day once a day, any more than that would affect your kidneys.

Go slowly. Start with 100 mg a day and then work up. High dose too quickly can make you faint but isn't dangerous, just uncomfortable.

DONNA,,,,,,,, ORH here and good advice. Md's prescribe flushing Niacin Rx and that is 500 mg, far too high to start. So people forget that program. To get 100mg, you must get a supplement. Increase dosage as you stop flushing. The 9-11 first responders ended up taking thousands of mg and in a sauna to get rid of their toxins. Their towels were dark from what was excreted during the flush. Tom Cruise installed and paid for that protocol because the medical folks had no clue.
Gene DeCode has a detox for the jab that will soon be on his new site..... blessed for service.org. One brilliant man. ====ORH====

My doc has me on niacinamide 1000mg in am, then 3 250mg doses separated thru out the day. It lowers cholesterol and is a liver/body detox. Flushing happens but not all the time anymore. Research Dr. Hoffer, he wrote some very informative papers on niacin and vit C.

BETTY, ORH here and I love you, but you do not understand niacin. There are many forms. Niacianamide will take care of Alzheimer's and flushing niacin will take care of your heart. Most of EC's posts are good, but some will cause you grief. I am a Redneck, which means that I am an opinionated person. All know this after 20 + years of my postings.
Betty, your problem is that you are half smart like me and need to read more. ===ORH===

Just a note on the Niacin warning. If you take Niacin on a full stomach immediately after a meal, the likelihood of a flush is greatly reduced. Never take it on an empty stomach!

All my numbers were greatly improved within 6 months after my visit to www.cholesterolscore.com . This website focuses primarily on the therapeutic use of niacin. The therapeutic use of niacin is nothing less than miraculous. Even my HDL, which had been my only acceptable lipid number, shot from 65 to 92.
All my other cholesterol numbers are now at healthy levels. I had been spending nearly $100 a month in insurance co-payments for Lipitor before switching to niacin. The little bit of niacin flush is nothing much at all. Especially when a year's supply of niacin costs me only $70.

Another recent human study also using Nigella Sativa, found that it is also capable of lowering high blood pressure. That's quite a combination!
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23436437
Nigella Sativa (NS) is available at most on line vitamin suppliers as well as local health food stores and is reasonably priced as supplements go at the tested dosages in these two studies. NS has shown other potential health benefits and the number of studies are increasing. NS has been used in alternative medicine in other parts of the world for ages. I was able to find NS in 400mg capsules at 60 capsules per bottle for less than $4 online from a popular supplier. To reach the most effective dose in the cholesterol study would require 5 capsules per day or about 35 cents or less per day if my math is correct.

Oat Straw Tea
★★★★★
My cholesterol has never been as low as it was this time. Total cholesterol had dropped a full 20 points. LDL was down from 101 to 82 and HDL was up from 40 to 56. Triglycerides had dropped from 65 to 45.
My wife's cholesterol had also dropped substantially, but for her the best thing was a 65 point drop in her triglycerides.
We bought it in bulk online, in a 1# bag. We put 2 tblsp in a tea bag and brew it by the pot. I drink most of it, but my wife will drink at least one cup a day. We also add an herbal flavored tea, such as apricot or pomagranate for flavor. The oat straw doesn't have much flavor of its own. My wife also likes to ad a little stevia.
It is relatively cheap. After a month, we have barely put a dent in the 1# bag. There aren't any side effects and its all natural.

Though I have oatmeal for breakfast on most days, supplemented with coconut oil, nuts, blackstrap molasses, nuts and yogurt. My cholesterol dropped some, but not enough to make the doctors happy. Even though I don't buy into the "one size fits all" cholesterol numbers that the drug companies promote to the medical profession, I did think it would be a good idea to bring my numbers in line a little better, but naturally.
I had read somewhere about 'oat straw tea', so I thought I would give it a try. Straw in my area, goes for about $3 a bale, which would presumably make a lot of tea. I use disposable tea sacks, but a tea ball would suffice.
I have blood work done on a regular basis for my heart and thyroid. After drinking a cup or two of 'oat straw tea' every evening for several months, my blood work showed a drop of 30 points in my LDL, a 15 increase in HDL and triglycerides also dropped correspondingly.
I stopped drinking it, though I don't remember why, and the numbers returned to where they had been. Not good. So, I started drinking it again.
This time around, LDL went from 135 to 95, HDL went from 40 to 55 and triglycerides dropped from 65 to 35.
Both times, the ONLY thing that changed was the use or lack of use of the 'oat straw tea'. I was amazed. The beauty of 'oat straw tea' is that it is simple, cheap and there are NO harmful side effects.
I strongly encourage others to give this a try. If you don't have a farmer close by that grows oats, you can buy OST online in bulk and use your own strainer. I've tried other natural methods to lower cholesterol and never saw such positive results. You get the benefit of the oats without the carbs. I brew it by the pot, along with my favorite herb tea, and keep the leftovers in the fridge for my wife to drink as iced tea. Oh yeah, her numbers all dropped also.

My husband was very faithful in taking these supplements for a year. He made no other changes to diet, supplements, exercise, etc.
A year later (January 2020) his cholesterol was higher and his LDL was worse! Hmmphh.
So we dropped those supplements. No use taking them or wasting money on them anymore.
I suggested oatmeal. Like, oatmeal for breakfast EVERY day. I eat a lot of oatmeal and my cholesterol has always been on the lower side. And some studies seem to show that oat lowers cholesterol. He was game.
So every morning for the last six months, (at least 13 out of 14 mornings), he and I have had a bowl of oatmeal together. He made no other dietary changes or changes in exercise or supplements.
Sometimes I make steel cut oats in the instant pot with dried cranberries and coconut flakes. Sometimes I made quick oats on the stovetop and add fresh fruit like oatmeal or peaches. I add a little salt and maple syrup. I put a little butter in his and a little plant butter in mine.
Six months and about 175 bowls of oatmeal later, he had labs done again.
His total cholesterol dropped from 198 to 182. (An 8% drop! )
His LDL went from 140 to 121. (Still higher than desired but a 13% drop! )
His LDL/HDL ratio is back in the "normal" range.
We will continue our breakfast for oatmeal routine. Perhaps over time there will be more improvement. I will let you know!

Hi, Good to know about oats and sharing all these details.I was wondering did he add any kind of milk in the oatmeal?
BTW fish oil and COQ10 alone does not lower cholesterol. You need to Red Yeast Rice along with it.
Give it a try.
Thank you,

198 cholesterol is really not high because the desired range is under 200 but I do watch the HDL/LDL. And also watch the intake of transfat, sugar and junk foods in fast foods, pastries, soda pops etc.
Good luck with your health.

Imagine what it could be without the added saturated fat in the butter! Being biological herbavores humans make plenty of cholesterol in our own livers, unlike omnivores. just like humans and other herbivores can't make our own vitamins c but omnivore animals can. Cholesterol comes from animal products and causes heart disease in herbivores. omnivores animals can eat a pure meat diet and will have no heart disease.
