Lard and Baking Soda

When i was 15 yo (1996), i was extremely sick. I spiked a fever of 104 degrees. My mother mixed lard & baking soda together, smothered it on my feet & put a 1 gallon freezer zip lock bag on each foot. This was to keep the nasty stuff from getting on my sheets. I truly thought she was nuts! I fell asleep & woke up 2 hrs later to my sheets being completely soaked from the fever breaking. She told me that my great grandmother told her about this remedy when she was a kid. And that was the first time she tried it.

Pour a cup of boiling water over a teaspoon of dried linden tree blossoms, cover, steep for 15 minutes, strain, drink warm. You will sweat, and the fever will go down. My mother used to make me take this and sweat under a blanket, maybe sweating has something to do with overcoming illness too. I remember raspberry jam worked too. Just take couple teaspoons of raspberry jam, pour a cup of warm-to-hot water over it, mix, drink, lay down and wait for sweat to coe and a fever go down.

I was diagnosed last year with Valley Fever, a fungus in the lungs, which quickly turned into Pneumonia. I was given antibiotics and all sorts of medication but my condition worsened and persisted for over three months. I was then introduced to MMS by my sister in law, who had used it successfully for psoriasis and I began taking the apropriate dose. Within a week, the Pneumonia was completely gone I and could breath again. For me, it was a miracle cure since Valley Fever is extremely difficult to cure!! DS

Onions in the Socks

So, my go to for breaking a fever was not listed and I had to submit it because it had been a life saver. I started using this when my daughter was 2 and I couldn't get her 104 fever to break. I cut up onions and put them in her socks. Leave it there over night, or until the fever breaks. Within minutes you can feel the fever dropping, from feet up the skin started to cool. The onions will start to smell like fried onions as the fever starts to cook the onions. My daughter's fever broke and never returned. She is now 13, and whenever she gets a fever, the first thing she asks for to help bring it down is onions. Now everyone in my family uses this.

Oil of oregano did work wonderfully on my 7 year old son. I was amazed at how his fever went down in 10 minutes and he seemed to have more energy. I rubbed 2 drops behind both ear lobes. And about 4 drops on the soles of his feet!

Oregano oil on the feet worked wonders for my boyfriend. I rubbed two drops on each foot and fever went down real quick. I mixed it with a liitle sesame oil so he could fall asleep cause sesame oil rubbed in the foot is suppose to help you fall asleep so it was a two in one remedy. I highly recommend oregano oil for the feet to reduce fevers.

★★★☆☆WORKED TEMPORARILY
1 drop rubbed on each foot worked temporarily on my 3-1/2 year old son. Brought the fever down 1 pt within 10 minutes. But after 15 minutes the fever went back up. Tried again and had no effect. Rubbing the oil around the back and outside of the ears did help the ear pain.

I couldn't find this one so here goes. Best for kids, as it helps whatever is causing the fever, especially virus. Two drops of Oreganol Oil, on each foot rub it in and fever will break in a matter of five (5) minutes. I have four kids and have used this on ALL of them. It has absolutely always worked.
You can rub a few drops on chest for congestion or sinus trouble too. I have used two drops behind ear (rub all around area) for curing ear infections, ear pain, etc.
You can't beat it for cuts, they will never get infected! Best for little finger cuts as they are hard to keep clean! Also cures toenail fungus, especially seriously infected ones, drop several drops around nail bed, under nail, and around affected toe, with in hours, the pain is gone! Three times a day and the toe infection will be gone in a few days. My friend 6'11" male, was about to go to the ER when I told him to try this, he could barely walk! It was easy to walk in a matter of hours and completely cured in a few days! Three times a day several drops. Epsom salt soaks help to draw out infection and help pain too.

I have used the potato in the sock trick for about ten years now, it works every time. It is funny telling people to try it for the first time but I told my mother she was crazy when she told me how to do it.

I've had a fever for 3 days and was taking Tylenol every 6 hours to bring it down. It wasn't helping, so I tried the potato remedy that is mentioned on this site. I am so shocked that something as simple as potatoes brought my fever down in 2 hours. I peeled a large potato, sliced it and put it in the fridge for about half hour. Then I put the sliced potatoes on my feet and covered it with socks. An hour later I took the potatoes out and put them in the fridge again for half hour. Applied them to my feet again and VOILA - fever gone!!! I repeated the whole procedure again next morning, just to make sure the fever didn't come back. Try it people, it truly is a miracle.

I had a rapidly rising fever last night that hit 103.1 and was only getting worse. Nothing was really bringing it down and my friend googled and found this website - since I had no egg whites, I opted for potato slices that I kept on my feet with socks.
Sure, I felt a little ridiculous and was reasonably sure that my fever had driven me to desperation and/or madness, but within two hours I was down to 99 degrees. So, there you have it, potatoes for fevers.

My husband's fever was rapidly rising to a 101.8. I read some of the responses on how to reduce a fever and I remembered my grandma using POTATOES. I sliced potatoes long ways and placed them on the soles of my husbands feet then put socks on. Placed some on his chest (without a shirt) and covered with a towel. I placed a cool wash cloth with some rubbing alcohol on his forehead and within the firt 30 mins, his fever was going down. After an hour it was below 100.Potatoes work well for reducing a fever.

Being that my son is allergic to eggs, I tried the ACV and water compress to help bring down his fever of 101.8. After a few hours, it came down to about 101. I then tried a big slice of potato in each sock - after an hour fever was down to 99.9! Thanks for those that have shared on this site - I've gotten a lot of helpful non-drug remedies here.
