Dear EC:

This site is very helpful and has a wealth of information. So, thank you for putting it all together. However, it would be exponentially more helpful if EC provided user forums where users could seek and share information with other users in a more direct manner. Whilst reading various posts, I realized that there were many answers sought by users that remain unanswered - even from years prior. I just know we could get the information in a better, more direct manner. The forums could be divided by topic to make it simple to use, I. E. Cancer, auto-immune disorders, skin conditions, detox methods, etc. I'm seeking information regarding heavy metal detox methods for a 13 month old. One person replied with information, but the information was not applicable to my situation. With how EC is now, I probably will not get any further in my search, even though I believe that someone has relevant information. The forums would serve the dual purpose of being a searchable source and be much like the information is now, with the advantage of having more people receiving and sharing more information - quickly. When it comes to health, time is of the essence. Thank you,

SMC (regulator555)

EC: Hello SMC,

Thank you for your suggestions! We had this very discussion on EC a year or two ago and while a handful of people liked the idea of turning the site into a forum, the majority of our frequent contributors wanted to keep EC exactly the way it is. Curezone.com, however, is set up this way and might be an excellent place for you to post your questions in a new topic if you haven't already. Please let us know what you learn!

Best,

Deirdre

Would be wonderful to be able to put a star or keep a bookmark of an article or articles thats of interest in case one needs to read it again or follow instructions. Just a thought

EC: Hi Leaa,

Registered users on Earth Clinic have that ability when they click on the "Watch This Feedback" eye icon at the bottom of any thread after they have logged in. Doing so puts a thread into the "My Watched Posts" section of your account.

HI Deirdre,

I have been away from this site (all sites) for almost three months. I have been back one month. I have to say I am very happy with the date and time added to each post. It makes it so easy to find the last post read when you come back another day. It took a long time coming but it was worth the wait.

I did not know about the "Watch This Feedback" until I read the above post. I did not usually sign-in unless I was writing a post but I will from now on.

I always try to find the Website Comments/Updates section to see if anything is new after being away for a week or so. It takes a bit of detective work. I think it would be a good idea to have an easily accessible, very visable "tag" to follow website comments/updates.

Thanks for all you do.

Maureen

EC: Hi Maureen,

Yes, we're happy with the new timestamps on the 3 Latest Posts sections as well. Indeed, it should have happened long ago, but I was under the (false) impression from my programmers that it wouldn't work.

We'll put a link to website updates/comments this weekend and will let you know where to find it. Thanks for the great ideas and support,

Deirdre

If I would like to submit a new category not already listed under an ailment (or remedy), how do I do this? Or is this done on your end?

Also, is the "yea/nay/..." categorized on your end as well?

Thank you for getting back to me.
winnie

EC: Hi Winne,

Yes, please send us your request to create a new ailment's or remedy page. We create new pages about once a week on the site. Yea/Nay is categorized on our end too.

I would like to read Ted's Autism/Asperger's Syndrome in particular, Treatment Protocol? I can't find it anywhere in the postings? I believe I am overlooking it.

I would appreciate anyone pointing it out to me.

In appreciation, Ronda

EC: Hi Rondamommie ,

Always check the Q&A section for Ted's remedies. The link to the Q&A is located at the top of the table of contents menu on most pages.

Hi Rondamommie,

I just saw your post and thought I should interject some very valuable info in regards to autism. There are some amazing people doing work to turn it around through diet. Donna Gates is a strong force in this movement and you can see her book, The Body Ecology Diet or go on her website. There is a lot of info and it is unbelievable what she has achieved. She offers solid, hands-on advice with very specific instructions in how to turn things around. If you go there you will see that she is about to launch a free teleseminar devoted to parents of autistic children in which they themselves will also talk about what they are doing and their stories of recovery. You have to pre-register for it to access it but it is free and once you register you will continue to have access to it to listen to over again. I just did this with her Spring Cleansing seminar and have listened to it twice now.

She has also created the Bedrok Community devoted to families who deal with autism that you might want to check out. There are stories of recovery, lots of support, diet suggestions and recipes, workshops, etc. You can go to bedrokcommunity.org and see all this info.

I have only recently discovered her work and have learned so much and have such respect for all she has done to help people recover their lives. I hope this helps you.

Wishing you the best on your journey,
Lisa

I cannot find on the site where it lists how to get to Ted's remedies list. Where do I look? Thank you

EC: If Ted has posted a remedy, it will be located at the top of the table of contents on any given page. Look for "Ted's Remedies" or in the Questions & Answers section.

Yesterday I received a great email from a contributor (who wishes to remain anonymous) asking if we would consider adding the following phrase to the bottom of every post. You may have already seen this on many sites like Amazon.com.

Was this review helpful to you? Yes No

3 of 41 people found the above review helpful.

Would you like to see this added to the site? Thanks for your feedback!

I'm afraid that although I use Amazon quite often and really value the comments posted there I don't see the use of letting people know whether a particular comment was useful or not. As I use Amazon.com for the comments and there are many I don't often read them all so the fact that I don't rate them it doesn't mean they were not useful. The same here, I only read the comments that apply to me which doesn't mean at all that the other ones are not useful. I think that it would give the wrong kind of information such as some comments being more useful than others which wouldn't be true. They are more useful to you maybe but are they in the whole? The fact that no one in my househol doesn't suffer from ear aches right now doesn't mean that comment might not be very useful in the future? It won't bother me if you start having such an option but is it really useful? Does it really show the value of the posting?

I personally would NOT like to see this on Earth Clinic! We are on here pouring out our hearts, trying to help others, and looking for help. We are not here to be judged as to the usefullness of our posts to each and every person that visits. We are only here to learn and to help others. Please don't add this feature, I think people would find it very inhibiting and distracting. I do not like to see it on other websites and I would hate to see it here!!!!!

I love your site! Read it almost everyday. Not sure how much control you have over it, but I am disgusted by the new ads that are popping up in the middle of your posts. Advertising weight-loss products and Health Insurance are two subjects your readers are trying to get away from! Please remove them!

EC: Hi Louisa,

Thanks for the feedback. We can ban ads only when we have the url of the ad (e.g. www.bad-ad.com). Please let me know which pages you see the irritating ads and the url, if possible. Also, are they Chitika ads or Google ads?

No ads should be "popping up" however, in the middle of posts anywhere on the site. The ads are all located in the same place on every page, either at the very top or the very bottom. Anyone else seeing pop up ads in the middle of a page?

Thanks for your help!

Dear EC: Re: Guidelines:

1) Please correct Ted's error there [under ACV & BS remedies] in which he says "250 mg," but means 250 ml.

2) Also, it would be good to add to the Guidelines a compilation of general facts about getting EC cures to work if at first they do not seem to.

For example, I have read the following types of cases:

A: the cure did not seem to work until it was tried for a longer time than was posted - but then it did kick in. Principle: be sure to try a remedy long enough, sometimes longer than is recommended or typical.

B: a cure was said not to have worked because the person's liver was in too bad a shape --- so, Principle: make sure your liver - or clogged colon or whatever - is fit enough to process the cure. Might need to address that issue first before using a remedy.

C: a cure was reported not to work (it happened to be with the usual ACV amount) until the poster happily reported she upped the amount of the remedy. So, Principle: is to (cautiously)use more than recommended in some instances.

Thanks very, very much for your work & concern for others as displayed by this site.
Judy

EC: Thanks for the great suggestions, Judy!

Ted's error has been fixed. The rest of your post will be added to our guidelines page as WISE ADVICE FROM OUR READERS!

Can you please provide us list of abbreviations of different kind of diseases. Example AAA, BKA etc.

Also list of antibiotics.

Thanks.

EC: Hi, Terry.

We have a list of abbreviations here: https://www.earthclinic.com/guides.html

Not sure why we'd need a list of antibiotics on Earth Clinic? One can find many lists on the internet... Here's one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_antibiotics

Hello EC. I have been reading and posting on this site for a while now and have some concerns as of today. I had asked Ted some questions about borax and soy safety and he did respond back to me , but now I can not find that post of mine or his response any where on earth clinic... All my other post I am able to find. I started looking at Ted recommendations, for people with health concerns and have noticed as of late he is not so much mentioning borax internally, but still is giving instructions for externally.

Are you all moving away from useing borax internally?

Should I be concerned? Because I used it over a six week period internally in the summer of 2008.

I just find it strange that these questions and TEDS response back to me is no longer on here. And it was in the last week or so that I posted it.

Also, I noticed EC dates back to 1999, but I never see any post past 2006, is there an archive or are post deleated after a certain amount of time?

It's to late if for me if borax is not being used internally anymore, as I have already taken it over one year ago, But if Ted is moving away internal suggestions... Then it should be NOTED on the Borax page.

Thank You,
Phil

EC: Hi Phil,

Your post and Ted's response about borax is still on the site! It's here - https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/borax2.html#GF. Nothing was removed.

Okay, this is very weird. I just found your post on the Latest Posts page and then lost it. It seems to be caught in between page 1 and page 2! If you click on the Latest Post link, you won't find it, but if you go to the bottom of Latest Posts page 2 and click the link for page 1, you will find your post. This is obviously a programming malfunction. Thanks for catching it! This is the url to find your posts. https://www.earthclinic.com/latest_posts.php?Start=1.

Dates: Prior to 2006, no dates were posted on Earth Clinic. Read more about the EC dating system here: https://www.earthclinic.com/guides.html#notes (see #3).

Posts are rarely deleted on the site, nor is anything archived except for the Fibromyalgia Questionnaire forms. We will eventually have to start an archive system as some ailments are starting to contain too many pages of feedback like the Bacterial Vaginosis.

Hello EC! I am probably the most paranoid person you all will ever have contact with and there is a story behind that, but we will save that for another day!!!

Anyway I feel great, But I guess sometimes the fear of the unknown can wear on any of us... I just got real concerned ( Paranoid ) when I did not see my post.

I definitely feel as though the borax internally helped me alot ... I had just read on some other website about the dangers and got paranoid. But the ideal of taking a small amount of a poison is not NEW... My aunt, for years has taking real sulfer in capules for her kidney infections and the medical doctor has told her that it would kill her. But she is still alive and doing fine. She has done this all of her life. I just got a little paranoid, I GUESS I MISSED A DOSE OF MY NIACINAMIDE( B-3), I'm ok now. LOL!

Thank You for all that you do!

Sincerely,
Phil

EC: Hi Phil, no no no not paranoid at all! I would have wondered where the heck my stuff was too! I was wondering why a few people kept writing in wondering where their posts were! Most importantly, you brought sometime to our attention that needed to be fixed on the database, so I am very appreciative. Thank you!

Dear Phil: Borax is a regular remedy I have used and is very often used here to get to get hormones level to normal levels, if they were low. It's one of the most useful supplements I use. The most used is alkaline (baking soda, potassium bicarbonate, potassium citrate, etc), and in the future you will be seeing more of iodine and borax also. Iodine drives out fluoride, bromine that accumulates over your lifetime and hence borax is to remove fluoride, and iodine is to remove bromine, and sodium thiosulfate is to reduce chlorine. Hence, borax is one of the remedies I used most frequently. It helps normalize bone metabolism, normalize magnesium to calcium ratio, is a required mineral, normalizes hormone for both men and woman, it has a weak viagra properties which is helpful for people 40s and up. It's removal of fluoride I have found normalizes my sleep pattern and now I have taken up to iodine (lugol's solution) as it has the benefit of alkalizing effect, and drives out fluorides and bromines as well.

It should be noted that in 1971, all flour processing switched from iodine to bromine, and hence you get iodine deficiencies when iodine is replaced with another halogen, that has no nutritional benefit at all. Hence this is white bread and white flour are so unhealthy.

In response to your mention of B3, the B3 is one of the few vitamins that support pancreas function in normalizing blood sugar. One of the most difficult areas I have in health is the issue of sugar. B1, B3 Niacinamide and B6 are the common B vitamins I used for blood sugar. B3 reduces anxiety, emotional disturbances, suicidal tendencies, etc. In general, B3 has a calming effects and is synergistic with amino acid supplements. Takes about 30 minute to take effect. In event of extreme depression, the minimum dose for B3 niacinamide is 500 mg. It won't work below that. However, most people would be happy with 250 mg dose.

I spend a lot of time at the EC site (obviously) and frequently have to log back in. Is there some way that could be remedied? (The having to log in, not the time spent at the site :p)

EC: Hi Connie. Earth Clinic uses sessions rather than cookies for registered users. A session expires every 2 hours, which is why you are finding yourself logged out. At this point we're not planning on supporting cookies (which would allow you to stay logged in longer), but this week we will be adding a log in/password field to the top of every page to save people that extra click!

We make upgrades to the site a little at a time because the programming fees (outside contractor) are so costly!

I want to just cry with frustration...
I can not find my own posts and do not know how to navigate through the sight to get where I want to be to read what I want to read. I wish I could just go to ANY tab (ailments or remedies or last posts) to find what I want to find. Oh please add spell check !!!!!!!!!!!
I have this problem where I type or write the second letter before the next letter (if you know what this is called PLEASE tell !!!) SO, my issue is that I love this site BUT I can not and do not know how to navigate and want to find where I left off. Please help for I feel so foolish.
sammijo

EC: Hi Sammijo66. You should be able to find your recent submissions on the Latest Posts page once they've been approved. However, certain posts will not be posted on the LP page if we deem them to be too risque (i.e., posts that contain graphic details for conditions like genital warts and bacterial vaginosis).

We're working to improve the registered user section of Earth Clinic so that people wiill be able to find their posts once they sign in under "My Account". Hopefully that will help you...
