WARNING!

WARNING: After 12 days of my 45 lb dog's dog's ear infection, I put about 8 drops of 50% AC vinegar/50% water solution into the ear. It bothered her so much she shook her head for 25 minutes, resulting in a very large hematoma (swelling) covering 2/3 of her ear. It looked like she would need surgery for this. Luckily it resolved, but my holistic vet said that ACV can aggravate an ear infection. Be careful with ACV for very inflammed ears.

After coming home to find my cat lethargic and disinterested in food & water, I realized his left ear was causing him extreme amounts of pain. I searched online for advice as I wasn't interested in an expensive vet bill and unnecessary tests. I stumbled upon the posts for Apple Cider Vinegar and tried it on my cat. I mixed one cap of ACV with one cap of tepid water, placed in an infant ear irrigator and squeezed as much as my cat would allow into the ear, massaging the area when possible. He wasn't a fan of the process, however, after one day he was purring and eating again. After 2.5 days, the infection released and drained. After 3 days, he's pretty much back to normal. Thank you!

I too have had a few dogs with reacurring ear infections. Had no idea about apple cider vinegar. I will try now. But what has worked for me in the past is vitamin E oil. You can find oil in herbal section with pills or if not you can actually break open the vit E pills and put directly into the canal. This was the only thing that worked for me with my shepard after numerous reacurring ear infections. Also i find q tips easy if you wet it with peroxide and/or getting a cloth wet with the vinegar and using the finger that way if your dog wont let u see into the ear you can feel where you are cleaning.

After hearing about using rubbing alcohol and vinegar for ear infections in people, I tried it on my cat, just in one ear. I soaked the corner of a wash cloth with a mixture of half rubbing alcohol and half apple cider vinegar and squeezed and rubbed it into her ear for maybe half a minute. Afterward she shook her head good to get the liquid out. She looks more comfortable now two days later, but there is still gunk in her ear (and the other ear). Tomorrow I'll do it again with the suggested solution instead, and on both ears. And clean them out with Q-tips.

She's been eating cat kibble. So I gave her some thawed fish fillets last night, and a chicken liver tonight. I'm her favorite person when I walk in the door now... Except that I had the nerve to put apple cider vinegar in that nice canned salmon... After giving her and the others apple cider vinegar for a few days their coats are getting soft and shiney. We have one with a crippled front paw who can't reach to clean herself well, and tonight her fur was soft and clean feeling. What a blessing...

Dog's Chronic Ear Infection Cured!

I have a sixteen month old Lhasa Apso who started getting ear infections around 6 months of age. In the past year she has seen the vet 4 times for her ear infections. I would administer the prescribed anti-biotics exactly as directed until the medication ran out. However, the infection kept coming back, ans spread from the right ear to both ears. It killed me to see her in pain all the time, stopping to scratch and pound at her ear every few minutes. Also, the smell was very rancid and almost unbearable. I was afraid that some sort of surgery might be necessary to correct the problem. THEN I found Earth Clinic. I read the dozens of post regarding ACV and pets. After a few days of research I decided to give it a try.

I bought organic apple cider vinegar from my local health food store. I emptied the contents of the squirt bottle full of solution from the vet and washed and dried it. I put 1/3 ACV and the other 2/3's distilled water. I then put the mixture in both ears, dried out the ears with a kleenex, then put a squirt of pet ear powder (that I bought from the pet supply store) in each ear to absorb all excess moisture.

I have to be honest, as soon as I put the mixture in her right ear she thrashed and banged her head against the couch and itched at it for a good 10-15 minutes. HOWEVER, within an hour I noticed she had stopped itching her ears. The next day she had completely stopped itching her ears and the odor was gone. I repeated the process on day 2 and 3 and I am confident that the ACV has treated her ear infection. I stopped after 3 days. A week has passed and she no longer pounds her head on the couch or hits at her ears. I am a firm believer in the power of ACV and have started taking it internally myself.

Please note, I noticed that after I administered the ACV my dog started to pant and seemed very dehydrated. I made sure that she drank plenty of water during the 3 days of treatment.

Not only will this method save me hundreds of dollars in doctors visits and prescription cost, but I no longer have to see my lil girl in discomfort and pain due to chronic ear infections. THANK YOU so much earth clinic and all of you who have posted your experiences!!! Give ACV a try!

I had the same problem with my Siberian Husky cross with a lab. She had an ear infection that the vet could not get rid of. I found the following recipe and all products can be bought in any pharmacy.

750 ml Rubbing alcohol
4 tablespoons of Boric Acid
8 Drops of Gentian Violet

The Gentian Violet you will need to ask the pharmacist for. Be careful with the gentian Violet as it will stain everything purple.

Clean the dogs ears with a cosmetic pad (this is what I use but a cotton ball will work). Clean every other day for two weeks. Then you can go to every week. Within the first week she stopped scratching and shaking her head.
My dog was great and she smiled every time I did it. This will also take care of ear mites.

Hope this helps!!!

My rescue DDB had CHRONIC ear infections. I'd use the ear meds from the vet, the infection would go away only to return a week or two later. I tried ACV and it did no good. After much convincing, I tried putting my dog on grain free food. I also clean her ears once a week with 50-50 white vinegar/hydrogen peroxide. She has been on this regimen for over 2 years now and not a single ear infection. I HIGHLY recommend trying grain free food for any dog with chronic ear infections.

I have a 3 yr old labradoodle. He has had nasty ears for as long as I can remember, especially after her goes swimming in the lake.
A friend told me about ACV a few years back and it has become a routine in our house. When he starts to shake his head a lot, and I ask him if he needs his ears cleaned he will go and actually get the bottle off our island shelf and bring it to me. If it is a full bottle, he will just bring the papertowels (since they are lighter). If I ever pull out the ACV for any other reason, he gets all excited and sits like a good boy waiting for a cleaning (even if he doesnt really need one). Amazing how greatful he is for the stuff!!

I use full strength. I dip my finger in it and then rub it in his ear - let it sit for a second then wipe it out with paper towel. Scout wont let me use q-tips or cotton balls. I find using my finger gives me a chance to get into all the hiding spots for the crud. It is completley nasty but, he's my baby and its worth it! When I get a good spot, he always gives out a good relaxing breath like he is having a great massage.

My dog has to be held down and then I put the mixture in his ears. He shakes, rubs his ears, rubs them all over the floor, rolls around on the floor, etc. Google Jim Zim family cocker website. He has the ear infection remedy on there. Do it exactly as he says. My dog used to get infections all of the time... no more.

I was seeking a natural alternative to cure my dog's ear problems, I have used ACV for many things and even drink it daily with warm water and honey, I never thought to use it for my dog. I read some of the comments on treating your dog's ear infection and several of the answers said to try ACV. It really works, I now clean my dog's ears regulary with ACV and water. Regular ACV does not contain the same healing properties as due to the heavy processing. Thanks.

Used apple cider vinegar on my 10 year old yellow lab. He had a nasty ear infection in his left ear for a while that wouldn't go away. Smelled really bad and had a gross fluid coming out. I tried just wiping his ears out but didn't work. Seen this page and said I would try the ACV treatment as a last resort before the vet. I'm glad I did! After 1 day, his ear stopped stinking and now it's been three days, just applying once every evening, he is almost back to normal. No gross stink fluid and hardly any head shakes at all! Worked like a charm. Going to keep it going daily for at least another week to make sure it's totally cleared up!

By this morning the horrible smell was almost gone, and the discharge had reduced significantly. A couple of more days and I believe my furbaby will be just fine! Thanks for the great advice!

Can please someone help?

About one and a half week ago my dog started walking around in circles (he was making pretty huge circles. He has an anal gland issues and I thought it's because of that). But few days ago he started making much smaller circles, basically spinning around. I put some garlic oil into his ears for two days and yesterday decided to flush his ears with the 50 acv/50 water and I already saw an improvement - he started walking a lot more straight, he started sniffing around (I think his nose is a bit blocked too). But it only lasted for a few minutes. Then, few hours ago, after a nap, he even tried to walk the opposite way. But again, it didn't last for too long (about half an hour maybe). I flushed his ears again but this time I didn't see any progress, I think it even worsened. He's still circling today.

I gave him hepar sulfur for his anal gland and now he's taking silicea. I know it's supposed to help push out stuff from the body so maybe it will also help for his ears?

He's too old to have anesthesia and proper cleaning. So I'm scared to take him to the vet.

Re: Circling... usually this is not an ear infection causing an off equilibrium... it's more like vestibular disease. It's like a drunk human who can't tell how they're walking and they feel dizzy and sick all the time. There is no cure for this but after years of study across the world to find something for my dog who had suffered with this, I found, through the University of Miami who is working on the problem, that it is probably caused by a vitamin deficiency.

I started my Dusty on different multi-vitamins and after 2 weeks of the vitamins and calm environment and helping her to walk using a material brace, it went away but came back 6 months later. I, again, doused her with vitamins and it went away and never came back.

A better way would be warm olive oil or sesame oil with mascerated garlic clove. It is used by natural doctors for children and very effective. Be aware that olive oil can be "pure" when it is not.

Ear inflammation is also caused by parasites.

All suggestions will be appreciated.

Hello Rialc!

Fellow pit bull lover here :) A very simple remedy is garlic infused oil. I typically crush a couple of cloves and let it steep over night, but you could also run a few cloves through a garlic press or mince them very finely and then let them sit 10 minutes; then add to the oil - I use olive oil as it is usually handy - and allow the juices to blend with the oil. Strain the bits of garlic out and warm to body temperature before adding to the ear. Use a liberal amount - you want to be sure it reaches deeply into the ear. Massage the base and listen for squishy sounds to ensure the oil has penetrated deeply. Fresh garlic is a strong antimicrobial agent and you need to let it sit for 10 minutes to fully activate it.

If your pockets are not to let other considerations would be a trip to the local drug store for these products:

1 tube Monistat (women's vaginal yeast infection product, generic is fine - the active ingredient you want is Miconazole Nitrate)

1 tube Polysporin (Bacitracin and Polymyxin B are the active ingredients you want, so any similar antibiotic cream with those active ingredients would suit)

1 tube Cortaid (The active ingredient is Hydrocortisone which helps with swelling and inflamation and itching)

Contributor Wendy originally posted this with directions - you may have to scroll down for it:

https://www.earthclinic.com/pets/ear_infection.html

I also highly recommend Zymox Otic with hydrocortisone which you should be able to order online - IMHO this is a must have in your doggie ear care toolbox; not only does it have the hydrocortisone but it also has enzymes which help digest yeast and bacteria and you do not need to clean the ear with this product which suits dogs with very painful ears.

Good luck and report back please!

Rialc (Ireland) ---

The best treatment is pure olive oil and a clove of garlic steeped in the warmed oil for about two to three days. Apply the warmed oil in a few drops in each ear morning and night, gently massaging the oil also in the outer ear and dabbing with a tissue.

This is used by natural doctors for children and in my experience it works. Just make sure you get pure olive oil as a label cannot be trusted anymore. Pure sesame oil (not roasted) will also work.

Do a search on this site for "Healthy Ear Recipe (from Arcane)". It's an excellent remedy for ear infections (yeast and/or bacterial).

It totally cleared up my Golden Retriever's yeasty ears. Plus, you may need to find a new food that is "limited ingredient", with NO grains, NO legumes (beans), NO rice, no chicken, try a good-quality protein, e.g., fish.

The only thing that worked for my dog's ear infection was the antibiotic drop from our Vet. I'm so glad he took him to the vet. This is just our story.

My Maltese poodle's both ears got infected and had dark brown gunk coming out. I have tried different remedies mentioned here to clear my dog's ear infection. I tried the ACV flush, ACV Alcohol solution, Coconut Oil, aloe vera jel, the witch hazel, etc. It worked temporary and some didn't work at all. So after a 2.5 months, his ears were still red and had dark gunk coming out. I finally took him to the Vet who gave us an antibiotic ear drop. In less than 3 days, I could see my dog was feel better and his ear looked better. We used the drops 2 times/day for 7 days and his ear cleared up completely. The Vet bill and cost of the 1 oz drop was $40, it was so worth it to see him feel better. I wish I had taken him to the vet sooner. He was suffering for too long while I was trying to figure out what would worked for him.
So far it has been 3 months and he has no ear problems. Our Vet did recommend using vinegar/warm water solution to flush his ears as a preventive treatment. And I have been flushing my dog's ears with vinegar/water solution every 2 wks. We still have the ear drops to use if the infection comes back.

Apple Cider Vinegar a Miracle for cat's ear infection -

My cat has had an ear infection for over a year and a half. I have gone to four different vets and spent hundreds of dollars trying to cure it. After reading this site, I poured half a cap full of ACV mixed with half a cap full of water on a cotton ball and cleaned her ears for 3 days straight. It's been 2 weeks, and the infection is still gone! No more black gunk in her ears for the first time in years!!! Thank you Earth Clinic for recommending this!

to the Vfamily...I have not yet tried ACV myself but getting ready to in the next few days. Your Lab isn't weird but I would change vets. For one thing 2 drops of anything in a dogs ears won't do anything. Find out more on how your dogs' ears are built. The ear canal takes a j-hook whitch is why they are prone to infection in the first place. Yeast are hard to kill. Does your dog have yeast or a bacterial infection? Your vet can tell you that. Do not use a q-tip or cotton swab to clean inside your dogs ears. Again the design of the ear canal makes them kind of useless. I always use a cotton ball. And you can soak your cotton ball in your mixture or solution, then push it into your dogs ear and squish it around so it gets to the areas beyond that curve. My Shadow has major ear probs. Had a little hematoma and her ears were actually swollen so bad that the vet couldn't see into them. It also made it diffacult to get meds into. Originally I did get some antibotic drop to put in there, then I changed vets and learned a whole lot of things, as I have been explaining here. You must be aggressive to beat an ear infection of any kind bacterial or yeast. Don't give up. Does your dog have food allergies? Change to a limited ingredient dog food or feed a raw diet. Does your dog have seasonal allergies? It is a sad fact that some vets will just keep you coming back to them for more meds, costing you more money. What we really need to figure out is the cause and the maintaince proceedures we need to take to prevent this from coming back again and again.I will post the results of my testing of ACV and or anyother remedies that I try. I have been asking other "trusted" dog owners that I know also of any remedies they have had success with. I hope you the best. Read everything you can about ears problems in dogs and about dog foods and vaccinations. Good Luck!!!

Well my daughters choc lab has had trouble with ear infections nearly every time she goes swimming (which is often) ever since she got her. Very distressing. Vet treatments didn't seem that effective. So I tried her with the apple cider vinegar this morning. She was very disressed when I put it in and I felt real bad but now a couple of hours later she has stopped shaking her head and seems much happier. Have just given another rinse out and her ear is obviously feeling heaps better as she didn't worry much at all this time. Will keep up for another couple of days then use as a preventative treatment. Great remedy.

I would try silver. I works wonders for my dog. Also several years ago I read a recipe that a girl placed on earth clinic that had iodine, boric acid, vinegar, etc. in it and it cleared up my dogs ear infections and he never had another. He was having one a month. the problem with Vets medicine is that it stays in the top of the ear canal and never gets to the bottom. Therefore it is not a permanent solution. I am sure if you look for those ingredients you will find the recipe. I will try and find mine if you have no luck. With my dog now I don't have the ear problem and so have not made iti for a long time. Praying you will find the solution. Vinegar may not be strong enough.

Hey Tasha!

There are cautions with the product your vet prescribed - there have been cases reported of dogs getting various ear medications and ending up with hearing loss - this in part due to damaged ear drum. You may wish to discuss with your vet before using the product on order. Also, you might consider Zymox Otic hcl - it is not an antibiotic but does have enzymes which digest bacteria and yeast/fungus.

Hello, may I have some advice please!!

my dog has had a yeast infection, problems with her ears being smelly, hunky and itchy, together with itchy smelly paws. I have put her on a raw food diet with excellent results. I have administered 50/50 Apple Cider Vinegar and water into her ears and used cotton wool to clean the outside of the canal. At first it cleared up well and the itching reduced massively . Now however when I clean the ear it becomes very red and more itchy after acv/water. I am still cleaning them as she is still itching on a morning and there is still some gunk coming out. Please could you suggest what I should do?

Hi Theresa,

I forgot to say that my dog only shakes her head on first waking up on a morning and tries to itch only for a little while. I have put sudocrem on the inside of her ear (not the canal) which has cured the redness and stopped the skin itching there but there is obviously still something bothering her inside on a morning. May I ask how often you can use Apple Cider Vinegar as a flush after you use it daily initially and the ear problem is almost gone? And secondly how often you can use it as a maintenance?

Many thanks

Hello,

You have very kindly been helping me with my dogs ear problems and advised I bought Zymox. I was able to find a supplier in the UK and used it successfully for a week. The gunk went as did the itching, so I stopped after 7 days, but 5 days later, her ears were flakey inside (just like if we use a thin face mask, let it dry and peel it off, the peelings were like that, never had this before) and large lumps of wax, but no itching. I wondered if I should continue he with the Zymox, or if this part of the healing process, old infected skin being shed and deep gunk coming up?

I also wondered with your experience of yeast problems, can a dog continue to show symptoms after initially clearing up. My dog has been on a raw diet now for three months, her smelly paws, itchy bottom and eye gunk went totally. Now her symptoms are occasionally showing up. Can they be so sensitive that a carrot or piece of Apple could cause irritation quickly? She used to be given a lot of raw carrot as treats.

Many thanks for your help,

Kind regards

Tania

About the gland condition, I did some research and run across ( Glandex ) for dogs and cats anal sac issues. Its over the counter at your vets office, or you can check online at vet source or amazon. I paid $26.00 so worth it for preventive care. My dog has had issues with her anal glands but after using this every morning in her food which is grain free, she is like a new dog, her coat is so shiny now not dull. She is so happy. I will be using this from now on for her on going preventive care.

My dog has been doing the exact same thing with her ear. I don't have much money for the vet, but I would like to know what's wrong with her, to do anything possible to ease her pain. What was the cause for your dogs pain?

I need to let all you people know before all these poor dogs are put through a very painful week of vinager and rubbing alcohol, first of all all these remedies are wonderfull BEFORE your dog has an ear infection, my dog got at least 3 infections a year and these remedies are wonderful for PREVENTION, scratch your arm then poor vineger and rubbing alcohol on it and see if you like it, when your dog has an ear infection there ears are swollen and very raw from itching, once they have the infection you need to get them antibiotics!!! But I have a great solution to cost, you dont need to bring your dog to the vet there is a solution at petmeds. Com, you can buy without a prescription!! if you compair it to the prescription stuff you'll see there is no difference in the least, its $20 dollars for 1 oz (zymox )but worth it compared to a $150 bill which is what I paid everytime I took my dog in for an infection. Its called ZYMOX OTIC(its arouns $20 but some other petmed places have it for $10) it is the same stuff as the anitbiotics your doc will give you!!! AND YOU DONT NEED A PRESCRIPTION!!! I have been using it for 3 years now and my dogs ears clear up with in 3 days!! THERES ONE WITH CORTIZONE AND ONE WITHOUT NOW THE CORTIZONE DOES, HELP WITH PAIN BUT DONT GET IT!!!! , YOUR DOG MOST LIKELY DOES HAVE OPEN SORES FROM SCRATCHING , AND THE CORTIZONE WILL BURN!!! So get the green one not the blue bottle anyway im glad I can help its really common sense no one would ever put vineger or rubbing alcohol on a cut it hurts!!! Use all these remedies as a preveNtive NOT a solution!!!! , it wold be like me telling you "YOU HAVE CANCER !! "now go home and eat a apple EVERY DAY! " (it does nothing to cure, but it might prevented.

You've jumped to a ridiculous conclusion here. Your dog was not traumatised by the ACV - he was reacting to the ear infection. I had a poodle who constantly had ear infections and she was the same way - didn't want me or the vet to touch her ears - her ears hurt and she wanted them left alone. Someone had to help me put medicine in her ears for the same reason. It was the ear infection, NOT the ACV.

I realize this is not ACV, but Grapefruit Seed Extract in a natural antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and antiparasitic. I mix it with Coconut oil (a few drops is sufficient) and drop into dogs ears. Seems to work very well with no trauma. So whether your dog has mites, or a yeast infection-- this should work.

Deedra, I use Coconut Oil on a cotton pad to clean my dogs infected ears and its amazing on it's own. I'll try it with the Grapefruit Seed Extract next for sure. Thanks for the tip. I've tried the ACV and also a remedy containing alcohol, povidone iodine and vinegar and boric acid. You would think that combo would kill just about anything but the plain ole Coconut Oil was what finally cleared up the infection.

hello my poddle-shih x has had cronic ear infections since she came into my life two years ago. Ive dealt with ear infections with other dogs as well. My sugestion for anyone trying a new holistic remidy for a dogs ear would be to start with your solution 20-80 20 Apple Cider Vinegar/ 80 h20. See if ther is pain or too much iritation then try 40-60 however dont go and flush the poor dogs ear 5 times in a row. Try a test every 24 hrs perhaps. I apreciate everyones coments. Im gonna put my idea to work. ill let you all know .m

This is crazy. 80% water solution? That will make everything worse. WORSE. NOT BETTER.

Remember, moist, dark, damp = perfect breeding ground for bacteria. DO NOT PUT WATER IN YOUR DOG'S EARS!

A hemotoma is a bruise, not a swelling. I think this guy is just trying to debunk the uses of ACV; trying to be all scientific and failing, lol.

Hematoma is a Swelling with blood involved! Eccymosis is a bruise.

I just got home from the vet - you are absolutely correct - a HEMATOMA is caused by broken blood vessel which forms a pocket of blood. The vet lanced it and put in a drain tube. A Hematoma is NOT a bruise!

Ear problems

When my Irish Wolfhound puppy has a waxy smelly ear problem, I use ACV glycerine instead of water. Glycerine is anhydrous and therefore absorbs the water in the ACV and is itself readily absorbed by the skin. This keeps the ear dry and prevents a moist "squishy" ear, which is an ideal environment for bacteria and such. This goes back decades to when my very young son was swimming a lot and got an ear infection. The pediatrician suggested it... Works like a charm!

dog ear solution

it really works!!!! the apple cider vin, work in two days for my pit with his clipped ears ear infections are a normal thing after $$$ at the vet i tried it and he doesn't scratch at his ears or shake his head all the time. plus i use the ear dropper to shoot it down his throat and his winter pains are gone too.. its like having my puppy back... he hates the taste and i put alot in his ears and make him sit there for a half a min at least but its so worth the results and him being happy again!!!

EC: WARNING: Please note that Apple Cider Vinegar must be diluted with water (at least 50/50) before applying to any area on a pet, otherwise it can burn the skin and cause terrible pain. Apple Cider Vinegar should also be diluted before giving it internally as well.

Did the ears get red at first when you cleaned them out?

I flooded my dog's floppy ears with equal parts of ACV and water. He didn't seem to mind it at all, and he is pretty sensitive and vocal about having his ears and tail touched. He has his first ear infection that I can recall. Hope it works as we have been treating his ears for a week with a prescription, Motozol, and it doesn't seem to be helping. Will report back in a few days.

Please use only THIS remedy (Healthy Ear Recipe (from Arcane) for healing your dog's ears:

Read it very carefully and completely! It's an excellent remedy for ear infections (yeast and/or bacterial) in dogs. I've used it on my Golden Retriever's ears when she had a yeast infection. Totally cleared it up. Plus, find a new food with NO GRAIN, NO CORN, and NO RICE (rice=sugar which yeast loves).

Healthy Ear Recipe (from Arcane)

1 tube Monistat (generic is fine)
1 tube Polysporin (use the real deal - it's inexpensive)
1 tube Cortaid (generic works here as well)

Use tubes of similar size. Mix all three together in a container that can be closed well. It takes a bit to incorporate because the Polysporin is a bit like Vaseline. Once incorporated, it stays mixed.

If ears are gunky, inflamed or smell bad, start with using a pea sized dollop twice a day. Use your finger to gently push it into the ear. Rub. Dogs will only shake their heads once or twice! It's a creamy, very soothing mixture. Once you have the ears under control, lessen how often you use it till you're only using it once a week. Once a week, it keeps ears from getting bad again.

My doctor (human) is the one that came up with this as her dogs were having ear issues that weren't really under control from the things her vet was prescribing! Anyone that I know that has gone to using it has had remarkable results and the dogs are much happier and SAFER than using anything with alcohol in it. I was told by my vet that alcohol just dries the ear out - which includes drying out the ear drum AND that if there is even the tiniest of perforations in that ear drum, it can let alcohol down into the middle ear where it can do permanent damage. That's why this cream is SOOOOO good! There's nothing "liquid" about it. It goes in and melts its way down to where it's needed. No alcohol to cause drying or damage and it will take care of anything yeast, bacterial etc...

Hey Wendy!

Thank you for sharing this recipe - I am copying it and putting it in my bag of tricks! I also have found the OTC remedy Zymox Otic HCL is super effective on my kids when they have ear troubles, but I do think your remedy is likely a bit easier to come by in the middle of the night. I also really like Ted's Anti-fungal/Anti-staph remedy which is also inexpensive with ingredients that are easy to come by.

Hi Wendy,

Thank you so much for this recipe. I have been applying antibiotic ear drops to my 15 year old toy poodle the last four days and it seems as though it's making her feel worse. I went and got all the ingredients for this and just put the first dose in her ears And she is resting comfortably now. I will check back in to let you know how she's doing in a couple of days.
